Lemon

EASTABOGA – Services for Jimmie L. Lemon, 70, of Eastaboga will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church in Eastaboga with Rev. Roger Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Sunlight Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Goodson Funeral Home in Anniston today 12-8 p.m. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mr. Lemon died Tuesday at Regional Medical Center in Anniston.

Survivors include six sons, Leroy Lemon and Jerome Lemon, both of Eastaboga, Roger Lemon of Weaver, Orlander Lemon of Decatur, Stanley Lemon of Anniston, and Tyson Lemon of Denver; three daughters, Jacquelyn McKissic and Tanya Lemon, both of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Pamela Lemon of Forrest Park, Ga.; five sisters, Lucy Mills of Wetumpka, Ella Miller of Eastaboga, Mary Chatmon of Choccolocco, Juanita Foster of Knoxville, Tenn., and Christine S. Harold of Denver; three brothers, J.T. Lemon of Lincoln, and Robert Lemon and Bobby Lemon, both of Dallas; his mother, Velma Turner of Eastaboga; 15 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be deacons of Salem Baptist Church.

Mr. Lemon was a member and deacon of Salem Baptist Church. He was a former Hobson City police officer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lemon; his father, Jimmie L. Lemon Sr.; and a son, Jimmie C. Lemon III.

TALLADEGA – Services for Huel McKinnley Love Sr., 82, of Talladega will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Parkway Assembly of God with Rev. John Love officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Usrey Funeral Home 6-8 tonight.

Mr. Love died Wednesday at his home.

Survivors include his wife, Betty C. Love; five daughters, Alice Fay Love of Birmingham, Virginia Paige Smith of Atlanta, Carla Ann Tinney of Talladega, D. Leigh Love of Helena and Julie Love Templeton of Tuscaloosa; a sister, Edna Pitts; 13 grandchildren, Latisha Ledbetter, Colton Ledbetter, Cortney Smith, Huel M. Love III "Tres", Zachard Cotton Love, Joshua Tony, Jason Tony, Jerry Whitten Jr., Heather Molsbee, Jackie Strickland, Tyler Love, Melissa Love and Caleb Love; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons.

Mr. Love, an Elmore County native, had lived in Talladega the past 55 years. He was a founding member of Fairpark Baptist Church and helped to found Parkway Assembly of God, where he attended. He was a founding partner of Love Law Firm and had practiced law since 1949. He served as an Alabama State Bar Commissioner for two terms and was a member of the American Trial Lawyers Assn. for 50 years. He helped start the free breakfast program at Northside and Hal Henderson Schools.

Lusk

JACKSONVILLE – Services for Raymond Lusk, 91, of Jacksonville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Piedmont with Rev. Tommy Pritchett officiating. Burial will be in Nances Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight.

Mr. Lusk died Wednesday at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Survivors include a daughter, Vivian Love of Jacksonville; three sons, Morgan and his wife, Jane, of New Orleans, Tony Lusk and his wife, Betty, of Piedmont and Michael Lusk of Birmingham; a sister, Evelyn Austin of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Mr. Lusk, a Nances Creek and Hollingsworth community native and lifelong resident, was a member of Nances Creek Methodist Church. A World War II Army veteran, he retired as a fireman with the Anniston Army Depot. He was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Morgan Lusk.

ROANOKE – Services for Casey Morgan, 36, of Roanoke will be announced by Roanoke Funeral Home.

Mr. Morgan died Wednesday at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Motes

WEAVER – Graveside services with full military honors for Ret. Sgt. 1st Class Eddie Motes Sr., 71, of Weaver will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery with Rev. Sean Nix and Military Chaplain Pamela Parker officiating. The family will receive friends at Brown & Kughn Memory Chapel in Anniston Saturday 10 a.m.-noon.

Mr. Motes died Wednesday in Gadsden.

Survivors include his wife, Priscilal Bento Motes; a daughter, Raena Motes-Garmon of Jacksonville; a son, Eddie Motes Jr. of Weaver; six sisters, Katheleen Smith of Midway, Mary Renfroe of Cusseta, Ga., Iretha Wynn of Florence, Selene Bundy and Linda Cox, both of Troy, and Margaret Boyd of Sprague; four brothers, Henry Motes, Kenneth Motes, James Motes and Herman Motes, all of Troy; and two grandsons, Jacob Garmon and Nicolas Garmon.

Pallbearers will be members of the Army Honor Guard.

Mr. Motes, a Troy native, had lived in Calhoun County the past 30 years. He was Methodist. He retired from the Army with 26 years service. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War where he received two purple hearts and a bronze star. He had been employed with AOD for 24 years as a technician. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nadean Nix.

The family requests no flowers. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 18 W. 11th Street, Anniston, AL 36201, or the Red Cross, 401 Noble St., Anniston, AL 36201.

Stallion

JACKSONVILLE – Services for Daisy Stallion, 88, of Jacksonville will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul C.M.E. Church in Jacksonville with Minister Mark Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Jacksonville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Goodson Funeral Home in Anniston today 12-8 p.m. The body will be at the church an hour prior to services.

Mrs. Stallion died Saturday at Huntsville Hospital.

Survivors include six grandchildren, Gloria Gaines of Bremington, Wash., Demyrs Knight of Anniston, Willie Carpenter of Huntsville, Lowell Carpenter and Timothy Carpenter, both of Jacksonville, and Roderick Carpenter of Birmingham; 14 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be friends.

Mrs. Stallion was a stewardess at St. Paul C.M.E. Church. She retired from Jacksonville State University as a cook. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Stallion; a son, Willie Carpenter; nine sisters, and six brothers.

WEAVER – Services for James Welch, 79, of Weaver will be announced by Gray Brown-Service Mortuary & Crematory.

Mr. Welch died Thursday at his home.

Bailey

RANBURNE – Services for Callie Mae Windham Edgeworth Bailey, 86, of Ranburne will be 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Hargrove United Methodist Church with Revs. T.J. Morgan and Lindbergh Sudduth officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Skelton Funeral Home of Reform in charge. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 tonight. The body will be at the church a half-hour prior to services.

Mrs. Bailey died Thursday at Cleburne County Nursing Home.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Annette Edgeworth and Edwin Mac Smith of Ranburne; a sister, Virginia Windham Dyer Free of Reform; four grandchildren, Alicia Smith Hendrix, Richard Edgeworth, Melody Smith Brooks and Melissa Edgeworth Legg; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ronald Hendrix, Jerry Windham, Larry Windham, Lanny Windham, Bruce Hickman, Boyd Edgeworth, Frank Gilliam, Kevin Brooks and Bobby Cowart.

Mrs. Bailey, a Tuscaloosa County native, had lived in Cleburne County the past 10 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Childersburg. For 50 years she was a member of the Sylacauga Chapter of Order of the Eastern Star and was a member of Chinnabee-Fort Strother Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jesse Lee Edgeworth and Stephen Bailey; a son, David Leon Edgeworth; a sister, Lucille Windham Burkhalter; and two brothers, Lauren Windham and Lanthus Windham.
