W.D. Lucas, 74, of Andalusia, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000 in an Andalusia hospital.A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens.

Andrew J. Ward
Andrew J. Ward, 94, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000 in a Pensacola, Fla. nursing facility. A funeral was held Friday, Sept. 1, at 10 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy King officiating and special music by Carolyn Wilson and Robert Gafford, accompanied by Bertie Mae Smith. Burial followed in Smith Cemetery.

Joan H. Mac Lean
Joan H. Mac Lean, 86, of Dozier, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000 in an Andalusia hospital. Graveside services were held Wednesday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. at Andalusia Memorial Cemtery with Rev. Dennis Knowles officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

John Hoyt Dollar
John Hoyt Dollar, 80, of Samson, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2000 in a Geneva hospital. A funeral will be held Sunday, Sept. 3 at 2 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home with Rev. Frankie Leonard officiating. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Cemtery.

W.D. Lucas
W.D. Lucas, 74, of Andalusia, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2000 in an Andalusia hospital. A funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, at 4 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Gardens.

Annie Lee Taylor
Annie Lee Taylor, 83, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, in Orlando. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2 p.m. from Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. LeRoy Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, at Foreman Funeral Home.

John W. Boggan
John W. Boggan, 81, of Orlando, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000. Born and raised in Andalusia, he wasthe son of John J. Boggan and Sarah Caroline Dozier Boggan. A veteran of World War II, he was a retired teacher of Conway United Methodist Church. A funeral will be held Monday, Sept. 4, at Conway United Methodist Church in Orlando, Fla. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 3 at Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Conway United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

John Wesley “Teamon” Clark
John Wesley “Teamon” Clark, 83, of Andalusia, died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, in a local hospital. Born in Covington County, he was the son of the late Oliver C. Clark and Mary Lizzy Clark. He moved to Niagra Falls, N.Y. in 1953 where he worked for many years at Great Lakers Carbon. He was a member of Gantt Baptist Church. A funeral will be held Sunday, Oct. 1, 2000 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Andalusia with Rev. Wayne Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethany Cemetery.Visitation will be Saturday, Sept. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

George Randall Ballard
George Randall Ballard, 68, of Wing, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000, in a Pensacola, Fla. hospital. He was a Veteran and served 21 years in the U.S. Army. Before his retirement, he worked as a physician’s assistant. A funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. Toby Stone and Rev. Jerry Hutcheson officiating. Burial followed in Red Oak Cemetery, in Okaloosa County, Fla. Music was provided by Daniel Morris accompanied by Barbara Morris.

Lila Bernadine Fleace
Lila Bernadine Fleace, 72, of Andalusia, died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, at her residence. Born in Nolin, Ky., she went to Vallejo Calif. College, was a social worker for 15 years and city clerk of Wheatland, Calif. for four years. She was active in civic activities, Red Cross, Community Chest, a member of Eastern Star, church and many school functions. A funeral will be held Thursday, Sept. 28, at 10 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church with Fr. Fulton officiating. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Harmon “Shake” Brogden
Harmon “Shake” Brogden, 89, of Andalusia, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in North Tonawanda, N.Y., after a short illness. He was a native of Gantt and the son of the late James Albert Brogden and Joan Rawls Brogden. He attended Auburn University and served in the United States Army during World War II. He lived in Ransomville, N.Y. from 1946 to 1998 when he moved to Andalusia. While a resident of Ransomville, he was a member of the Ransomville Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon, trustee and as a member of the pulpit committee. He retired from DuPont Inc. in Niagara Falls, N.Y., as a chemical operator. A funeral was held Wednesday, Sept. 27, at 11 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joel Faircloth officiating. Burial followed in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary, directing.

James L. “Buddy” Caylor
James L. “Buddy” Caylor, 83, of Opp, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000 at his residence. A Funeral was held Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Elmore officiating. Marcus Ramer gave the eulogy. Burial followed in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Music was provided by Emma Turner.

Dalton Crawford Barnes
Dalton Crawford Barnes, 79, of Andalusia, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000 at his residence. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 10:30 in Serenity Gardens in Milton, Fla.

Robert L. Rogers
Robert L. Rogers, 95, of Andalusia, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2000 in the Opp Nursing Home. He was a member of West Highland Baptist Church. Before retirement, he worked as a generator operator with Alabama Electric Cooperative. A funeral was Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leroy Cole officiating. Burial followed at 4 p.m. in Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Troy. Music was provided by West Highland Baptist Church Chior accompanied by Sue Reeves, pianist. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the West Highland Baptist Church Building Fund.

George Randall Ballard, 68, of Wing, died Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000 in a Pensacola hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in red Oak Cemetery, in Okaloosa County, Fla. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Foreman Funeral Home.

Margaret E. Fendley
Margaret E. Fendley, 70, of Milton, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at a local hospital. She was a native of Alabama, but has resided in Milton for a long time. She was a member of the East Brent Baptist Church of Pensacola. A funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11:30 at the Lewis Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. A. Dale Patterson, Pastor of the East Brent Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Barrancans National Cemetery in Pensacola.

Billy Wayne Ward
Billy Wayne Ward, 58, of Opp, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 in an Opp hospital. A funeral will be held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 11 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Peaceful Acres Memorial Cemetery.

Mildred Shear
Mildred Shear, 79, of Opp, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at E. B. Stabler Hospital in Greenville. A funeral was held on Monday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Burlson officiating. Burial followed in Peaceful Acres Memorial Cemetery. Family requests omission of flowers. Memorials may be made to the charity of choice.

Harmon “Shake” Brogden
Harmon “Shake” Brogden, 89, of Andalusia, died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000 at the home of his daughter, Adehlia Ann Kowsky, in North Tonawanda, N.Y. after a short illness. He was a native of Gantt and the son of the late James Albert Brogden and Joan Rawls Brogden. He attended Auburun University and served in the United States Army during World War II. Gloria Carnley Holley, 62, of Opp, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 in an Opp hospital. A funeral was held on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Peaceful Acres.

Bessie Dallas Cunningham
Bessie Dallas Cunningham, 82, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 in an Andalusia hospital. Private graveside services were held Friday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. Keahey Funeral Home directing.

James L. “Buddy” Caylor
James L. “Buddy” Caylor, 83, of Opp, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000 at his residence. A Funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 at 10:30 at Keahey Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Elmore officiating. Burial will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. Music will be provided by Emma Turner.

Jessie Frances Howell
Jessie Frances Howell, 92, of Fairview community, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000. A funeral will be held Sunday, Sept. 24 at 4 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home

Mary Beuford Wages
Mary Beuford Wages, 81, of Cedar Grove community, died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000. A funeral will be held Sunday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home.

Naomi Williams Fuqua
Naomi Williams Fuqua, 96, of Andalusia died Sat., September 16, 2000, at her residence. Graveside services were held Monday, Sept. 18 11 a.m. at Magnolia Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing and Rev. Joel Faircloth officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Andalusia.

Marjorie Grimes Kyzar
Marjorie Grimes Kyzar, 79, of Andalusia died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in an Andalusia hospital. The daughter of the late Rebecca Stone Grimes and Herman Grimes, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Ethel Chapman Sunday School Class. Funeral services were held Thursday, Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Andalusia with Rev. David Warren and Rev. Walker Epps officiating. Burial followed in the Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. Music was provided by Martha Givhan, organist, and Paula Sue Duebelt soloist accompanied by Louisa Mann.

Ray M. Baker
Ray M. Baker, 82, of Andalusia died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, in an Andalusia hospital. A member of Bethany Baptist Church, he worked as a heavy equipment operator with Covington County until his retirement. He also served 32 years in the Alabama National Guard. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 21 at Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home with Rev. Ronald Davis officiating. Burial followed at Macedonia Cemetery. Music was provided by Monte Kirkland, David Kirkland, Tony Kirkland, and Beck Brown accompanied by Angie Sasser, pianist.

Gloria Mae Holley
Gloria Mae Holley, 62, of Opp, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 in an Opp hospital. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 22 at 10 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Peaceful Acres.

Bessie Dallas Cunningham
Bessie Dallas Cunningham, 82, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 in an Andalusia hospital. Private graveside services will be held Friday, Sept. 22, at 11:00 a.m. Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Kernice W. Kyser
Kernice W. Kyser, 69, of Opp, died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000 in Dothan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 23 at 2:00 at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Gridertown Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home.
