Rev. Edward J. “Buddy” Watley, 54, of Forest, Miss., died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 at his residence. A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2 p.m. at Ott and Lee Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Cox, Rev. John Thomas and Rev. Jim Sanders officiating. Burial followed in Covenant Baptist Cemetery.

Lura T. Wiggins
Lura T. Wiggins, 98, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Nov. 17, 1999 in an Andalusia health care facility. A funeral will be held Friday, Nov. 19 at 1:30 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove.

Glois Davis
Glois Davis, 63, of Freeport, Fla., died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999 in a DeFuniak Springs, Fla. hospital. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home in Florala with Rev. Johnnie White and Rev. John Eiland officiating. Burial will follow in Judson Cemetery.

Juliaette Findley
Juliaette Findley, 53, of Brewton, died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999. A funeral will be held Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Bert Bounds officiating. Burial will follow in Damascus Cemetery.

Durham E. Terry
Durham E. Terry, 90, of Red Level, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999 in a Birmingham hospital. A funeral was held Sunday, Nov. 14 at Red Level Methodist Church with Rev. James Purnell. A poem was read by Paul DeMaret and a eulogy by grandchildren. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Betty Whitaker
Betty Whitaker of Andalusia, died Sunday, Nov. 14, 1999. A graveside service was held Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. at Stone Lake Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Joel Faircloth officiating and Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Johnny L. Miller
Johnny L. Miller, 96, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999. A graveside service will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, at 11 p.m. at Pleasant Home Cemetery. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. today at Foreman Funeral Home. Further details are being arranged by Foreman Funeral Service.

Grace Arnold Burkett
Grace Arnold Burkett, 86, of Georgiana, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999. A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 2 at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgia with Rev. Michael King officiating. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery.

Mertis Elmore Day, 89, of Defuniak Springs, Fla., died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 at her residence. A funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 3 at 1:30 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home with burial following at Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Lillie Green e, 78, of Andalusia, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. A funeral will be held Thursday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. in Serenity Memorial Gardens in Mobile.

Thomas J. Kilpatrick Sr.
Thomas J. Kilpatrick Sr., 70, of Andalusia, died Monday, Nov. 29, 1999 in an Andalusia hospital. A graveside service with full military honors from Pensacola Naval was held Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 2:30 at Hopewell Cemetery with Rev. Buddy King officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Lillie Green e
Lillie Green e, 78, of Andalusia, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 1999. A funeral was held Thursday, Dec. 2 at 10 a.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. Graveside services followed at 2 p.m. in Serenity Memorial Gardens in Mobile. Rev. Joel Faircloth officiated and special music was provided by Don Lingle.

Narvie Jack Hardee
Narvie Jack Hardee, 71, of Opp, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1999 in an Opp hospital. A funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home with burial following in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Kathleen Martin Rogers
Kathleen Martin Rogers, 90, of Andalusia, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 1999 in Atmore. A funeral will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home with Rev. John Foster and Bro. Herb Carlilse officiating and special music by Don Lingle. Burial will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemtery. Visitation will be Friday, Dec. 3 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby Faye Hugghins Foshee
Ruby Faye Hugghins Foshee, 91, of Red Level, died Saturday, March 9, 2002, in a Montgomery hospital.
The widow of Wheeler George Foshee and Claude Hill, she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thomas Hugghins of Cohasset. She was a member of the Red Level Baptist Church for most of her life. She was a member of the choir for many years and loved to sing and play the piano. A superb, creative cook and an accomplished gardener, she was a matriarch of the highest quality and developed deep relationships with all of her grandchildren.
A funeral was held Monday, March 11 at 10 a.m. at Red Level Baptist Church with Rev. Cleveland Brown officiating. Burial followed in Long Branch Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Memorials may be made to Red Level Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, June Hugghins Foshee and Robert James Russell of Birmingham and Shirley Malone Foshee Harville of Destin, Fla.; two sons and daughter-in-law, Wheeler George and Brenda Liles Foshee and Eugene Crum Foshee, all of Montgomery; a sister, Clara Mae Hugghins; 12 grandchildren, Barbara Faye Foshee Harrell, Angela Madie Foshee Granberry, Wheeler George Foshee III, Daniel Boyd Foshee, Robert Scott Russell, Whitney Russell Smith, Rebecca Russell Flynn, Eugene Crum Foshee Jr., Elizabeth Ann Foshee Wicks, John Brannan Foshee, Melonie Shay Harville and Joshua Wendell Harville; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.

Gloria Jean Cook
Gloria Jean Cook, 71, of Gantt, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 in an automobile accident in Opp.
She was the retired postmaster of Gantt.
Graveside services were Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Dozier with Rev. Walter Brewer officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a son, Robert Thomas of Gantt; a daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Leamon Cook of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, Thomas Habetz and Britney Danielle Thomas.
Pallbearers were Neal King, Noel Dozier, J.R. Dozier, Thomas Habetz, Billy Hughes and Robert Cook.

Amos Milton Cook
Amos Milton Cook, 75, of Gantt, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 in an automobile accident in Opp.
He was a retired mail carrier.
Graveside services were Sunday, March 10 at 2 p.m. at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery, Dozier with Rev. Walter Brewer officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include a son, Robert Thomas of Gantt; a daughter son-in-law, Amber and Leamon Cook of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; two grandchildren, Thomas Habetz and Britney Danielle Thomas.
Pallbearers were Neal King, Noel Dozier, J.R. Dozier, Thomas Habetz, Billy Hughes and Robert Cook.

Phillipa Nelson Odom
Phillipa Nelson Odom, 58, of Andalusia, died Friday, March 8, 2002 at her residence.
A funeral was held Monday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Carolina Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Taylor officiating. Burial followed in Carolina Cemetery with Foreman Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include three sons, Don Odom of Opp, Keith Odom of Fitzgerald, Ga., and Curtis Odom of Andalusia; five grandchildren; her mother, Kate Nelson of Andalusia; two sisters, Ruth Scarborough of Semmes and Barbara Lawson of Andalusia; and a brother, Myron Nelson of River Falls.
Pallbearers were Charles Blackwell, Grady Owens, Ernie Cleland, Jimmy Cox, Scott Waite and Johnny Williamson.

Jerry Ann Walden, 64, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, March 5, 2002 in an Andalusia hospital.
A funeral was held Friday, March 8 at 1 p.m. at Lindsey Bridge Baptist Church. Burial followed in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Howard E. Walden of Andalusia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Howard Jr. and Pamela Walden of Libertyville, Jeff and Ethel Walden of Enterprise, and Keith and Susie Walden of Andalusia; four brothers, Bobby Owens, Ray Owens, both of Birmingham, Harry Owens of Homewood and Mike Owens of Trussville; a sister, Susan Owens of Alabaster; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Blake Walden, Mathew Walden, Michael Paul Walden, Kenny Starnes, Vann Starnes and Tim Pate.

T. Ivey Powell Sr.
T. Ivey Powell Sr., 84, of Andalusia, died Thursday, March 7, 2002 in a Dothan hospital.
He was the son of Bibb Simpson Powell and Tempie Woodham Powell of the Enon community. Mr. Powell was a lifelong resident of Covington County and served as the District 3 County Commissioner for twelve years. He was a leader in the county's agriculture industry, farming for over 63 years.
A funeral will be held Saturday, March 9, 2002 at 1 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church, Florala. Burial will follow in Enon Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday after 10 a.m. until time of service at the church.
Survivors include four sons and daughter’s in-law, Thomas Ivey Powell Jr. and wife, Mildred; Carlos Alvin Powell Sr. and wife, Lynda; Glen Eugene Powell Sr. and wife, Barbara; and Paul Edwin Powell Sr. and wife, Margaret; all of Covington County; two sisters, Erie Carter of Dothan and Winnie Ola Weeks of Opp; sixteen grandchildren: Melissa Sanders of Dothan, Thomas Ivey Powell III (Tommy) of Montgomery, LaTricia Isbell of Tuscumbia, LaDonna Powell of Andalusia, Carla Hammonds of Lowndesboro, Carissa Anthony of Panama City, Fla., Carlos Alvin Powell Jr. (Al), Cory Alan Powell, both of Andalusia, Glenn Eugene Powell Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Timothy Alan Powell of Florala, Joseph Ivan Powell of Andalusia, Christopher Scott Powell of Oklahoma City, Okla., Paula Collins of Montgomery, Tracy Overstreet of Grove Hill, Julie Kennedy of Alabaster, and Paul Edwin Powell Jr. (Eddie) of Andalusia; seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Enon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Rt. 1, Box 120, Florala, Alabama 36442.

Joan Griffin Adams
Joan Griffin Adams, 59, of Andalusia, died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at her residence.
A funeral will be held Friday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at Keahey Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.
Survivors include a son, Craig Collins; a daughters, Michelle Helmick; a step-son, Ernest O. Adams Jr.; a step-daughter, Karen Leigh Fonk; a sister, Virginia Monroe; a step-sister, Peggy Elmore; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
