Marshall Miller

Services for Marshall Miller, 43, of Somerville will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001 at Price ville Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the service.

Price ville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Miller died Sunday, Oct. 28 at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 19, 1958. He was a machine operator for the Morgan County District 4 shop.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Miller of Somerville; two sons, Kevin Miller of Somerville, Taylor Miller of Hazel Green ; daughter, Kassie Miller of Somerville; father, Jim (Clida) Miller of Hazel Green ; mother, Jewell Church Lewter of Decatur; half-brother, Jesse Lewter of Decatur; and two sisters, Becky Johnson of Hazel Green, Christine Miller of Ozark.

Pallbearers will be Billy Joe Marlar, Glen Marlar, Dale Blackwood, Buddy Beaver, Joe Horsley, Wally Steelman.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be bade to Neurological Fund, Huntsville Hospital Foundation, 101 Sivley Road, Huntsville, Ala., 35801.

Joseph Rollins
Services for Joseph Rollins, 84, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home Chapel in Silver Spring, Md., with burial in Park Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Rockville, Md..

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He died Oct. 26 at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1917, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late William A. and Rosa C. Arnold Rollins. He was a plumber/mechanical worker. Mr. Rollins was a veteran of World War II and served in the Navy as a boiler maker third class.

Survivors include two nephews, Maurice A. (Bobbie) Creasey Jr. of Cullman and Dixon L. (Autumn) Creasey of Crouseville, Maine; five step-grandchildren, Joe Miller, Bobby Miller, Glenn Miller, John Miller and Ann Harrison.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. today at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home.

Donations may be made to the VFW.

(Bill) Calvin Shaw

Services for (Bill) Calvin Shaw, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home, Roger White officiating, with burial in Corinth West Cemetery.

He died Oct. 26 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He wa born April 27, 1925, in Cullman County. He was a records keeper for the state of Alabama.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Nelson and Odessa Maddox Shaw.

He is survived by his wife, Ethel Roberts Shaw; two sons, Larry E. Shaw and Philip E. Shaw, both of Pensacola, Fla.; a daughter, Phylis (Vick) Ball of Cullman; two brothers, Johnny (Elaine) Shaw of Leeds and Bug (Jewel) Gardner of Cullman; a sister, Doris (Jonas) Simmons of Cullman; grandsons Joseph E. (Regina) Hinkle and Allen Hinkle, both of Cullman; a granddaughter, Tammy Hinkle of Cullman; a great-granddaughter, Makenzie Hinkle of Cullman.

Visitation was Saturday.

Jerry H. Henderson
Services for Jerry H. Henderson, 61, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001 at New Horizon Memorial Chapel, the Rev. Demetrice Richey officiating, with burial in Brasfield Cemetery in Burnwell.

New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henderson died Thursday, Oct. 25 at Cottage Hills Nursing Home. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, a member of Lake Catoma Baptist Church and a truck driver for Cullman Logistics.

He was preceded in death by by his parents, John and Carrie Lee Henderson; sister, Johnnie Mae Puckett; and a brother, Billy Henderson.

Survivors include three daughters, Brenda Kay Nord of Cedar Lake, Ind., Geri Lynne Norfleet, Sheila Ann Soloman both of Lowell, Ind.; one son, Carl Allen Henderson of Cedar Lake, Ind.; two brothers, Larry Henderson of Quinton, Earl Henderson of Cordova; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation was Friday.

Porter Bain Garrett

Graveside services for Porter Bain Garrett, 80, of Cullman, formerly of Mobile, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, 2001 at Serenity Memorial Gardens in Mobile.

Serenity Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Garrett died Thursday, Oct. 25 in Cullman. He was born July 24, 1921 in Liberty. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Garrett.

Survivors include five children; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

Verna Thellene Hautamaki
Memorial services for Verna Thellene Hautamaki, 80, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, with burial in Center Grove Baptist Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hautamaki died Monday, Oct. 22 at Woodland Medical Center. She was born in Cullman on May 2, 1921 to Alsie and Betty Patillo Norris. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Hautamaki;and a daughter, Juanita Taylor Courtney.

Survivors include a son, Thomas Lamarr (Nancy) Thornton of Columbus, Ohio; two brothers, Paul (Jewel) Norris and Dovard (Opie) Norris; three sisters, Evelyn Montgomery, Oleana Kelly and Zell (Euless) Smith; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today prior to the service.

Wilda Mavis Bryant

Services for Wilda Mavis Bryant, 88, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Joe Caldwell officiating, with entombment in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Bryant died Tuesday, Oct. 23 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 22, 1913 in Cullman County to George W. and Bessie Henry Livingston. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include a son, Leon (Joann) Bryant of Cullman; and a sister, Lafretta Livingston of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.

James Green

Services for James Green, 67, of Falkville are incomplete and will be announced at a later date.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Asa B. ‘Buck’ Henderson

Services for Asa B. “Buck” Henderson, 85, of Hanceville will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2001 at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. David McGowin officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Henderson died Monday, Oct. 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Cullman County on June 2, 1916. He was a poultry farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Ruth Henderson of Hanceville; a son, Phillip Bruce (Ginny) Henderson of Hanceville; two daughters, Sandra (Doug) Schultz of Starkville, Miss. and Brenda (Jerry) Dew of Cullman; two brothers, G.C. Henderson Jr. of Florence and Millard Henderson of Cullman; two sisters, Elaine McAnnally of Hanceville and Kathleen McAnnally of Cullman; five grandchildren, Cory Freeman, Hannah Freeman, Patrick Freeman, Brad Henderson and Nick Henderson; and four great-grandchildren, Ashley Freeman, Jordan Freeman, Noah Henderson and Katie Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Kidney Foundation.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Charles Gordon Jackson

Services for Charles Gordon Jackson, 79, of Addison will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2001 at Sardis No. 2 Baptist Church, Glenn Wood and Felton Dagnon officiating, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jackson died Sunday, Oct. 21 at Health South Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Anderson.

Survivors include his wife, Imogene Jackson; a son, Bennie Jackson of Midfield; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, James Jackson of Addison; and a sister, Margie McGill of Bessemer.
