Delphia Naomi Reid Johnson

Services for Delphia Naomi Reid Johnson, 87, of Cullman will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Chris Hester officiating, with burial in Hopewell Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson died Monday, May 20 at Hanceville Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 3, 1915 in Blount County to John and Annie Neely Reid. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Ernest Lee Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Ernest Dean Johnson of Cullman and Harold Glen Johnson of Lawrenceville, Ga.; two daughters, Mary Sue Patton of Gary, W.V. and Kay Cagle of Hanceville; a brother, Albert Reid of Hayden; a sister, Wynelle Tritt of Birmingham; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Odie ‘Pop’ Swann

Services for Odie “Pop” Swann, 90, of Live Oak, Fla., will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Flint Creek Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. The body will lie in state an hour prior to the service.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Swann died Sunday, May 19. He was born in Cullman on March 16, 1912 to Joe and Margaret Cook Swann.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Mary Joe Elliot and Wolfgang Punjer of Miami Springs, Fla.; three sons, Ronald (Barbara) Swann, Troy (Eileen) Swann, Dallas Swann of Live Oak, Fla.; sister, Mattie Koehler of Cullman; brother, Alec (Roberta) Swann of Bessemer; eight grandchildren, Sherri Northrup, Bambi Padgett, Kim Howard, Chuck Swann, Sue Ratliff, Eric Swann, Wendy Swann, Debbie Elliott; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Alvin Lee Faulkner
Services for Alvin Lee Faulkner, 65, of Milan, Tenn. will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, the Rev. Delwin Kilgo officiating, with burial at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Faulkner died Tuesday, May 21 at Milan Health Care. He was born Feb. 16, 1937 to William and Nora Martin Faulkner. He worked for 20 years in the Woodland Hospital maintenance department and performed country music.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his daughter, Janice Watson of Cullman; three brothers, Ules Faulkner of Ohio, Earl Faulkner of Tennessee, Edward Faulkner of Moulton; one sister, Jeneva Cupp of Cullman; and two grandchildren, Lisa Ward, Jacklyn Watson both of Cullman.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Dan Milligan

Services for Dan Milligan, 78, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, David Speegle and Jack Freeman officiating, with burial in Valley Springs Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Milligan died Wednesday, May 22 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born Jan. 25, 1924 to Ludie and Jackson Milligan. He was a carpenter’s helper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Carlon and Otis Milligan; and two sisters, Odale Sandlin and Murtle Brown.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred Tramell Milligan; two daughters, Wanda Kmetz and Hilda (Jack) Freeman; a sister, Uzele Duke; six grandchildren, Hope Connors, Terry Defoe, Connie Self, Ronda Dunn, Chris Freeman and Jackie Gable; and 15 great-grandchildren, Johnathon Connors, Christina Connors, Jazmine Connors, Courtney Connors, Justin Shelton, Britney Defoe, Terina Scott, Tori Scott, Keshia Dunn, Trayman Dunn, Jaxon Dunn, Triston Freeman, Trevor Freeman, Joseph Gable, and Seth Gable.

Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. today

Bronislaw Stanley Hyjek

Services for Bronislaw Stanley Hyjek, 76, of Cullman will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Sacred Heart Church, Fr. John McConnell officiating, with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hyjek died Tuesday, May 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born in Poland on Sept. 27, 1925 to John and Vernica Przenrczna Hyjek. He was a foreman at Nicholson File.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Jagodzinska Hyjek of Cullman; son, John (Freda) Hyjek of Cullman; five daughters, Linda (Bob) Navarra of Hayden, Veronica Hyjek, Patty (Nick) Simmons both of Cullman, Christine (Butch) Whitworth of Good Hope, Donna (Brian) Drake of Vinemont; four brothers, 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation was Wednesday.

Eleanor Joyce Alvis

Services for Eleanor Joyce Alvis, 66, of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, Mac Buttram officiating, with burial in Union Hill Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Alvis died Tuesday, May 21 at Baptist Medical Center Princeton. She was born in Morgan County on Sept. 23, 1935 to Claud and Leona Maddox Townsend. She was a retired dietician for Woodland Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Junior H. Alvis; and her brother, Kenneth Townsend.

Survivors include four daughters, Cathy Clos, Linda Mena, Virginia (Robert) Barber and Patricia Renee Alvis of Cullman; five sisters, Barbara King of Cullman, Margie Bradford of Morris, Nancy Haynes, Donna Haynes and Myra Townsend; five grandchildren, Anthony McEwen, Christopher Parker, Kenny Barber, Keith Barber, and Luke Holmes; and one great-grandchild, Morgan Parker.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Harrison Grant Olinger

Graveside services for infant Harrison Grant Olinger of Cullman will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2002 at Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Ray Latham and Randy Sellers officiating.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born and died on Tuesday, May 21 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include his parents, Brian Scott and Stacie Hightower Olinger of Cullman; grandparents, George and Diane Hightower, Larry and Pam Olinger of Cullman; and great-grandparents, Paul and Ludy Anderson of Cullman, J.D. and Ovel Bonds of Albertville, Charles and Reba Beatty and Sherman Olinger.

Ralph McCroy
Services for Ralph McCroy, 67, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Moss Service Chapel, Bryan McClendon officiating, with burial in Valley Springs Cemetery.

Moss Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McCroy died Thursday, May 23 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Birmingham. He was born in Alabama on Sept. 22, 1934 to Walter and Savannah Stewart McCroy. He was a logger.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Hassie Johnson McCroy; daughter, Kathy Daniel; four sons, Darrle, Larry, Tim and Rodney McCroy; two brothers, Lee and Junior McCroy; four sisters, Marie Loyd, Roselle Marks, Doris Magheney, Ann Schafer; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be at 7 p.m. today.

Paul F. Joiner

Services for Paul F. Joiner, 54, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., formerly of Cullman, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, 2002 at Thomas L. Price Funeral Home, the Rev. Mike Butzberger officiating, with burial in Riverside Memorial Park, Tequesta, Fla.

Thomas L. Price Funeral Home Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Joiner died Tuesday, May 21.

Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Nancy Joiner of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; one son, Paul Joiner II of Tavernier, Fla.; one daughter, Robyn Stemle of Gainesville, Fla.; three grandchildren, Jeffry, Courtney and Zachary; one brother, Jerry Joiner of Cullman; and two sisters, Rosa Laboda of Plantation, Fla. and Diane Jenkins of Panama City, Fla.

The family requests contributions be made to the Arthritis Foundation, 400 Hibiscus St., West Palm Beach, Fla. 33401.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

John David Roy
Services for John David Roy, 77, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Cullman Heritage Chapel, John Garrison officiating, with burial in Cullman City Cemetery.

Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Roy died Friday, May 24 at his residence. He was born in Barberton, Ohio on Aug. 29, 1924 to William Russell and Cora Coon Roy. He was a job estimator for Speedring Corp., a member of the U.S. Navy, having served on a destroyer ship during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Ralph Roy.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Roy of Cullman; four daughters, Susan (Richard) Groff of Indiana, Cheryl (James) Springer of Pell City, Cathy (Dwayne) Olson and Mikki (Bill) Lewis, both of Cullman; a brother, Ted (Shirley) Roy of Texas; two sisters, Mary Bowden and Dorothy (Jim) Soleau, both of Florida; nine grandchildren, Cassie Patterson, Michael Paul Patterson, John David Patterson, Crissy Bolden, Sally Jamison, David Springer, Susan Farris, Kevin Lewis and Katie Lewis; and four great-grandchildren, Marika Bolden, Ciera Bolden, Brionna Jamison and Juliet Burney.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Alacare Hospice.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Denna Carol Sears

Services for Denna Carol Sears, 37, of Cullman will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26, 2002 at Williams-McCracken Chapel, Jackie Ellenburg officiating, with burial in Cullman Memory Gardens.

Williams-McCracken Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Sears died Friday, May 24 at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born in Cullman on Jan. 27, 1965 to William Curtis and Marie Odell Campbell Sears. She was a graduate of the Helen Keller School For Deaf and Blind.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include her mother; two brothers, Mike (Vickie) Sears of Birmingham, Chris (Tanya) Sears of Cullman; and seven sisters, Juanita (Drennen) Twilley, Geneva (Larry) Dollar, Judy (Ray) Abbott, Vickie (Ronnie) Daniel, Patsy (Van) Maner, Donna (Buford) Roberts, Tina (David) Luker all of Cullman.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today.
