Mr. Willie C. Jones (Chop), a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in the St. Paul A.M.E. Church on East Andrews Ave. in Ozark. The Rev. Horace Fitchard Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in the city cemetery with Trawick Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Equella Terry, 55, a resident of Daleville, died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at her residence.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the New Summer Hill Baptist Church in Daleville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rev. WE Morris will officiate. Trawick Funeral Home will direct.

Mr. Charley E. Byrd, Ozark, died Thursday March 15, 2001, at the Oakview Manor Nursing Facility in Ozark.
The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Greater Old Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Ozark. The Rev. Washington Virgil will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Trawick Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Bertha "Cornett" Austin, 92, of Ozark, died March 14, 2007 in Ozark.
The funeral will be Friday at 70 a.m. at Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with brother Jimmy Ball officiating. Burial will follow, at Beulah Chapel Cemetery in Cartersville. Visitation will be this evening from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Austin was born in Rome, GA. to the late Robert and Ada "Kincaid" Cornett. She was a member of the Camp Ground Baptist Church in Ozark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Horace Austin.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Janet Austin and Hugh Don Foshee, Ozark; Rhonda Austin and Gary Gilbert, Ozark; grandchildren, Michele Foshee Brackett, Jason Foshee, great-grandchildren, Micah Brackett.

Mr. William Robert "Bill" Whilden, 64, of Orange Beach, Alabama, formerly of Ozark, died Monday, March 12, 2001, in a Birmingham hospital following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March I5, 2001, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Universalist Cemetery in Ariton, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. Thursday morning, March 15, 2001, with the family receiving friends during this time.
Mr. Whilden was a native of Plant City, Florida, moving to Ozark in 1966, where he operated Dale Timber Cornpany until 1985. He moved to Orange Beach, Alabama in 1986 where he owned and operated the charter boat "Miss Jill" for several years. Mr. Whilden was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Whilden.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy P. Whilden, Orange Beach, Alabama; two daughters, Jill Whilden Roy and her hus- band, John, Griffin, GA, and Athena Peavy, Orlando, FL; two sons, William Mark Whilden and his wife, Tonya, Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Alan L. Peavy and his wife, Sheryl, Ozark; two sisters, Gloria Anderson an her husband, Charlie, Hayesville, NC, and Nancy Morgan, Lakeland, FL; eight grandchil- dren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Emma Cooper Grimes, 90, of Newton Avenue, Ozark died at her home Friday afternoon March 9, 2001 following an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 11, 2001, from the Chapel of Holman Funeral with the Reverend Leon Fortune officiating, interment followed in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Grimes was a native of the Long Street Community of Dale County having lived in Hinesville, GA for manny years where she worked at Fort Stewart before returning to Ozark in 1963. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Grimes, St., her sons Charles W Grimes, St., and Kenneth Grimes. Mrs. Grimes was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church and the Eastern Star.
Her grandson survives her: Charles W. Grimes, Jr., and great grandchildren: Crystal Grimes, Coosbay, Oregon; and Cherrie Salviar, Colfax, Califomia; her sister, Mrs. Nettie Pearl Elder, Akron, Ohio; and her brother, Mr. Colvie Cooper Ozark.

Mrs. Edna L. Arnold, age 80, of Highland Avenue Ozark, died Friday morning, March 9, 2001, in Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.
Funeral services will be Sunday, March 11, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Billy Gaither officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Ozark with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Ozark. She was a licensed practical nurse and had been employed with Dale County Hospital now known as Dale Medical Center, Ozark and with Dr. Norman Holman until her retirement in 1990. She was a beloved mother and grandmother, preceded in death by her husband, David Arnold, and brother, Jack Smith.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Lana A. and James Harrison, Ozark; one grandson, Trent Harrison and wife, Shannon, Dothan; two great-grandchildren, Brook and Lillie Harrison, Dothan; three sisters, Evelyn Carroll and husband, Bill, Ozark; Hilda Nieves, Ozark; Catherine Simmons and husband, Ted, Ozark; one brother, Fred C. Smith and wife, Ruby, Sylvester, Ga.
Casket bearers will be Jackie Smith, Bill Carroll, Jr., Freddy Smith, Greg Smith, Tim Smith and Russell Simmons.

Mr. Rodney Dodson, 54, of Ozark, died Thursday morning, March 8, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10, from Chalkhead Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy West and Rev. Greg Aman officiating. Interment followed in the church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Dodson was a native of Ozark where he had worked with Vivian B. Adams School since I973 as the Physical Education Teacher, Director and Assistant Director. He graduated from Auburn University with a B.S. Degree and from Troy State University with a Masters degree in Education, and served in the Alabama National Guard in the 131st Tank Battalion in Ozark.
He was a former member of the Ozark Rotary Club, a member of the Ozark Baptist Church, and was presently attending Chalkhead Baptist Church where he and his wife conducted the Children's Church.
He was preceded in death by his father, Claude J. Dodson, Sr. on February 27, 2001.
Survivors include his wife Selina Hughes Dodson, Ozark; one daughter, Jean Kendall Dodson, Ozark; his mother, Jean P. Dodson, Ozark; one sister, Celia Wilkerson, Columbia, Mo.; two brothers, Claude J. Dodson Jr., Atlanta, Georgia, and Gordon Dodson, Ozark; one uncle, Jack Dodson, Atlanta; two nephews, Kevin Dodson, David Wilkerson; one niece, Alex Wilkerson.
Memorial contributions may be made to Vivian B. Adams School, Stewart Tarter Road, Ozark. AL 36360.

Mrs. Lillie Mae Smith, age 89, of Mixon School Road, Ozark, died at her home Thursday morning, March 8, 2001, following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Peters officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be this evening from 3 p.m. until service time. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. Smith attended Emmanuel Holiness Church in Ozark.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Robbie Smith, Ozark; one brother, J.D. Sanders, Panama City, Fla.; six sisters-in-law, Edna Smith, Ozark; Belvie Sanders, Ozark; Ida Bell Sanders, Loma Sanders, both of Panama City Fla.; Louise Campo, Columbus, Ga.; Mary Smith, Ozark; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

James Donald Portwood, age 50, of Ariton died Thursday, March 7, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be Saturday March 10, 2001, at 10 a.m. from Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Rev: Paul Gilbert officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening.
Mr. Portwood was employed with American Builders for 10 years and served in the Army National Guard for six years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Portwood and Joyce Cherry one sister Ann Barefield.
Survivors include one daughter, Dorrie Portwood, two sons, Derek Portwood, Donnie Portwood and his wife, Angela, one grandson, Brayden Portwood, nephew, Bobby Barefield, two nieces, Jackie Ledbetter and Dana Barefield.

Mrs. Virgie Brown Edmondson, 93, of the Brown's Crossroads Community died Thursday morning, March 7, 2001, in a Daphne, Alabama medical facility.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday March 10, 2001, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Bob Sweet officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 10 a.m. Saturday March 10, 2001 until service time at 11 a.m. with the family receiving friends during this hour.
Mrs. Edmondson was a native of Geneva, Alabama having lived in the Brown's Crossroads Community since 1926. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Lem C. Brown and James L Edmondson.
Survivors include her daughter, Madolyn Brown Walsh and her husband, Charles S., Fairhope, AL, two grandsons, Charles B. Walsh and his wife, Cathy, Alpharetta, GA, and Steve Walsh and his wife, Debbie, Hurst, TX, five great grandchildren, Stephanie Walsh, Atlanta, GA, Melissa Walsh, Auburn, AL, Charles Walsh, Tuscaloosa, AL, Heather Walsh, Hurst, TX, and Ben Walsh, Hurst, TX; and one step-great-grandchild, Ami Corner, Marietta, Ga.

Hattie Barefield Blankenship, 101, of Newville Route 2 Echo Community, died Tuesday night, March 6, 2001, at her home after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday. March 9, in the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Delbert Freeman and Rev. Chris Brown officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery with Holman-Headland Mortuary directing.

Mrs. Blankenship was a life-long resident of Dale County, near Echo, the daughter of the late William Sherman Barefield and Leora Galloway Barefield. She was a member of the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Eston Blankenship.
Surviving are her daughter, Jeanelle Miles and her husband, George Miles, Phenix City; two sons, Marvette Blankenship and his wife, Geraldine Blankenship, Blakely, Ga.; Billy Blankenship and his wife, Gloria Blankenship, Echo; a sister, Girlie Riley, Spanish Fort; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; special friend and caregiver, Joan Strange, Phenix City; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Barefield, Duncansville, Pa., and Flora Belle Barefield, Echo; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ethel C. Crittenden, age 97, a resident of Oakview Manor Nursing Home, formerly of 117 Crittenden Street, Ozark, passed Tuesday March 6, 2001, in Ozark.
Reposing will be at Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary. Family and friends may call from 4 until 6 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday March 10, from 12 until 1:30 p.m. at the Greater Sardis Baptist Church in Ozark. Home going service will be at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to Scott's Chapel Hill Mortuary.
She will be remembered by her sons, Malvin Crittenden, Daleville; Dr. Raymond Crittenden, Montgomery; and many other family and friends.

Mrs. Ester Mae McLeod, 85, a resident of Skipperville, died Sunday March 4, 2001, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral services .will be Saturday, March 10 2001 at 1 p.m. in the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church in Skipperville with the pastor Rev. T.E. Tossley officiating. Burial will be in the Ashbury Cemetery with Trawick Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. McLeod was born Dac. 12, 1916 to the late Leslie and Emma Lewis.
She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted husband, Shellie W McLeod; one son, William (Catherine) McLeod, Fairbanks, Alaska; seven daughters, Lunnie Norton, Evelyn McClendon Ruby (Derrick) Morgan, all of Karsas City Mo.; Mae (George) Taylor, Henredita (Rosie) Summerville, Fairbanks, Alaska; Emmer (James) Pruitt, Voncile (Hazel) Robinson, Skipperville; two special grandchildren, Bobbe Johnson, Skipperville; Sgt. Johnny Truitt, Washington, D.C.; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Wilmer Parker Jr. died on March 4, 2001 in Ozark, Alabama. Graveside services will be Tuesday, March 6, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. from Westview Memorial Cemetery, Ozark, with Dr. Billy Gaither, Reverend Michael Lawler and Reverend Rebecca Skillern Parker officiating. The body will be placed in the First United Methodist Church, Ozark, Tuesday March 6 at 9:00 a.m. until service time. The family will receive friends at Westview Cemetery Chapel following the burial service.
Mr. Parker, a lifetime resident of Ozark, was born November 26, 1921, the son of the late Henrietta and Wilmer Parker, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity "A" Club lettering in track and manager of The University of Alabama Million Dollar Band. He also attended Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. Mr. Parker was a veteran of World War II, serving in the European theater as an infantryman with the 102nd Infantry Division where he received a battlefield commission and bronze star with oak leaf cluster.
After returning from military service, Mr. Parker was engaged in banking, insurance, commercial real estate, government contracting and farming.
He was a founder and director of United American Life Insurance Company, Atlanta, Georgia; Architecture Graphics, Norfolk, Virginia; and Parker Oil Company Ozark.
Mr. Parker served as mayor of the City of Ozark, 1960-1964. He was a member of the Utilities Board of Ozark, Ozark City School Board, chairman of Industrial Devel opment Board, past president of Bogardus Cairns Chapter A.U.S.A, trustee of Army Aviation Museum, past president of Ozark Kiwanis Club, charter member and past president of Ozark Rotary Club and recipient of Paul Harris Fellow. He was a founding trustee of Mobile College 1962-1982. A member of the First United Methodist Church of Ozark, he was an honorary member of its Administrative Board and a member of the John Wesley Sunday School Class.
He is survived by his wife; the former Anne Laura Ragsdale; one son, Wilmer Parker III and wife, Rebecca, of Atlanta, Georgia; two daughters, Virginia Parker Cook of Tuscaloosa and Laura-Louise Parker Roush and husband, Wade of Cumming, Georgia; six grandchildren, Anne-Laura Rhodes Cook, George Searcy Cook, Rebecca Virginia Parker, Charles Parker Chapman, Noel William Parker and Anne Laura McRae Roush.
Memorials may be made for the establishment of the First United Methodist Church Memorial Garden, 201 East Broad Street, Ozark, Alabama 36360-1598 or to UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center 1001 Liberty National Building, 530 3rd Avenue South, Birmingham. AL 35294-0001.

Carroll; Jr., Martin Price, Brent Browning, Dr. Robert Zumstein, Victor Taylor, Walter Novak; and Marvin L. Weeks. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the John Wesley Class. Holman Funeral Home directing.

Miss Crystal Mae Kelley, age 16, of Ozark, died Friday March 2, 2001.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday from the Ozark Church of Christ with Minister Glen Vanzandt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions are to be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Ozark, 321 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave., Ozark, Ala., 36360.
Crystal attended Lee High School in Montgomery until moving to Ozark in January to attend Carroll High School. She was a member of Christians and Action group, and attended Ozark Church of Christ.
Survivors include her mother and father, David and Pat Kelley, Ozark; mother, Jane Kelley Albertville; two sisters, Sarah Roberts, Ozark, Sharon Kelley Ozark; three brothers, Brian Roberts, Ozark, Ronnie Kelley, Albertville, and Jimmy Ingram, Fort Hood, Texas; grandparents, Gertha Kelley Coffee Springs, Faye Clayson, Ozark, and Ella Lambert, Scottsboro; aunts and uncles, Teresa Via, Montgomery; Sharon Kelley, Enterprise; Jimmy Kelley, Dothan; Mike Kelley, Houston, Texas; Dennis Kelley, Dothan; Mary Magaretich, California; Ed Clayson, Maryland; James Clayson, Ozark; Janice Pratt, Albertville; Freddie Hess, Langston; and Jimmie Ruth Hess, Scottsboro; and many cousins.

Mrs. Flora Stephens, 86, of Dothan, formerly of Ozark, died March 2, 2001, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Universalist Cemetery in Ariton with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing.
Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mollie Wilson; one son, Jerry Stephens; nine brothers, Henry, Elmer, Postell Tom, Louie; Foster, Willie, Fred and Melvin Wilson. She was also a member of Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gwendolyn (Purnell) Chancey, Dothan, and Joyce Ward, Youngstown FL, three sons, Glynn (JoAnn) Stephens, Wetumpka, Billy (Sharon) Stephens, Opp, Bobby Stephens, Dothan; 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Command Sgt. Maj. (Retired) Jack Lewis Williams, 67, of Ozark, died Thursday evening, March l, 2001, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness. .
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Dr. Charles E. Gouge officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with full Military Honors, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 3 p.m. today until service time on Monday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 3 to 5 p.m. this afternoon.
Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Williams was a native of California, Mo. He dedicated his life to his country, serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. Accomplishments, ratings, and awards include two Distinguished Service Crosses, one Silver Star, four Bronze Stars with Valor Device, four Purple Hearts, nine Special Forces Theater Service Ribbons with seven Battle Stars. Command Sergeant Major (Retired) Williams extraordinary heroism and devotion to duty were in keeping with the highest traditions of the military service and reflected great credit upon himself, his unit, and the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife, Nadine Williams, Ozark, daughter, Veronica Harris, Ozark, granddaughter, Jennifer Murphy, great-granddaughter, Kaila Reese Owens, daughters, Debbie Williams and Karen Williams, Mo., sons, J.L. Williams and Edward Williams Kansas City, Mo., sisters, Izola Collins and Mary Louise, and brother, Marvin Williams, Fayetteville, N.C.

Mr. Alfonzo Matthews, 69, a resident of Ozark, died Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at the Dale Medical Center in Ozark.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 3 2001 at 2 p.m. in the St. Paul A.M.E. Church on East Andrews Ave., in Ozark, with the pastor Rev. Horace Fitchard, Jr., officiating. Burial will be in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Trawick Ozark Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Claude J. Dodson Sr., 78, of Eufaula Street, Ozark died early Tuesday afternoon February 27, 2001, in a Dothan Hospital following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2001, from Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Memorial Cemetery Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in, the funeral home parlors from 2 p.m. today until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening. Flowers should be omitted and memorials should be made to Ozark Baptist Church, 314 South Union Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or Vivian B. Adams School, Stewart Tarter Road, Ozark, Alabama 36360.
Mr. Dodson was a native of Dawson, Georgia having lived in Ozark since 1942. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater as a Liberty Ship gunner. He was retired from General Telephone after 40 years service in 1982. Mr. Dodson was a member of the Ozark Baptist Church, former member of the Ozark Rotary Club, and Ozark Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Pennington Dodson, Ozark; one daughter, Celia Wilkerson, Columbia, Mo.; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Claude J. Dodson, Jr., Atlanta, Ga.; Rodney and his wife, Selina Dodson, and Gordon Dodson, Ozark; four grandchildren, Kevin Dodson, David and Alex Wilkerson, and Jean Kendall Dodson; one brother, Jack Dodson, Atlanta, Ga.

Mrs. Mittie Hagler Kelley, 95, of Ozark, died Monday, February 26, 2001, in Dale Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today from the Holman Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend W. L. Sheffield and the Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mrs. Kelley was born in Barbour County, Alabama, to the late Joe and Hattie Shirah Hagler. She had lived in Dale County since her marriage to the late William E Kelley. They were married 71 years at the time of his death in 1991.
Mrs. Kelley was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Ozark and was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and excellent homemaker. She worked for a short time with Phillips Van Heusen in Ozark. She was preceded in death by a daughter Edith Kelley Martin; two sons, Ray E. Kelley and Dwight W Kelley; two grandsons, Gene Jordan, and Donald Kelley; four brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include: three daughters and one son-in-law, Emily and Robert Ward, Phenix City Erwin Strickland and Eva Robinson, Ozark; four sons and their wives, Roy and Mary Kelley, Phenix City, Randolph and Hazel Kelley, Raymond and Patsy Kelley Ozark, Reynolds and Cevena Kelley Boston, Ga.; her daughter-in-law Maftha Kelley, Ozark; five sisters, Thelda Burgess, Ozark, Hilda Barfield, Blue Springs, Ala., Elmeda Brown, Calahan; Fla., Eunice Birge, Columbus, Ga., Anne Herring, Phenix City, Ala.; two brothers, Edward and Howard Hagler Columbus, Ga.; her sister-in-law Flora Hagler Blue Springs; 26 grarid- children and 41 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mr. James LaDon (Don) Phillips, age 71, of Arguta Community, Alabama, died Monday February 26, 2001, following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday March 1, 2001, at Evergreen Freewill Baptist Church with Rev John W Helton Jr. and Rev Dave Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 p.m. Wednesday until one hour prior to service time when the body will be placed in the church. Family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-8 p.m. Wednesday February 28, 2001. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions can be made to Wiregrass Hospice, 980-D E. Andrews Avenue, Ozark, Ala., 36360.
Mr. Phillips retired from the Michelin Tire Corporation in 1991 with 12 years of service. He worked for Madison Construction for 10 years and was a private carpenter in business for himself. Mr. Phillips also had a great,love for farming. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include: his wife, Ann Garner Phillips, Arguta Community; one daughter and son-in-law, Erika and Ricky Brown, Ozark; three sons and daughters-in-law Wayne and Ramona Phillips, Greg and Dale Phillips, and Keith and Amy Phillips, all of Skipperville; two sisters, Annie Laura Doster of Ozark, and Jean Chalker of Vidalia, Ga.; two brothers, John Daniel Phillips of Enterprise, and Eldon Phillips of Ozark; five grandchildren, Summer and Paige Brown, Matt, Amanda, and Megan Phillips.
Pallbearers will be Matt Phillips, Billy Rhodes, Danny Chalker Steve Phillips, l2alph Mathis, Larry Doster, Kenneth Phillips, and Edward Phillips.
