Mrs. Rita Rena Barta, 64, of Ozark, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Dale Medical Center following a long illness.
A celebration of life will be Thursday, Nov. 8, 2001 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Artesian, S.D. with Wills Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Artesian at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Memorial arrangements for friends and neighbors in Ozark and in Colorado Springs, Colo., are incomplete at this time but will be arranged by the family at a later date. Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark is in charge of local arrangements.
She was a native of Artesian, S.D., where she met and married Richard J. Barta on May 27, 1958. They moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., in June of 1967. After retirement she moved to Ozark in March of 1997. She loved arts and crafts, fishing, card games, sewing, being with her children, grandchildren and friends and enjoying life.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Lorretta Cote, husband Richard J. Barta and a brother.
Survivors include four daughters, Rhonda R. Benavidez, Millbrook, Ala., Robin R. Rader, Ozark, Raeburn R. Henderson, Ozark, Rachele R. Fenimore, Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Richard J. Barta and Robert J. Barta, both of Colorado Springs; four sisters, Mary Jean Nelson of Houston, Inez Nelson, Betty Peer, Eva Schmit, all of Artesian, S.D.; one brother, Donald Cote of Artesian, S.D.; and 16 grandchildren.
Active pallbearers are Cody Henderson, Ralph Henderson, Tel Benavidez, Roger Schimidt, Chuck Peer and Jim Nelson. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren Keith Barta, Todd Barta, Samuel Barta, Alex Barta, Jared Barta, Richard Fenimore and David Fenimore.

Mrs. Annie Mae Rhymes, a former resident of Ozark, died Friday Nov. 2, 2001, in Cleveland, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2001, at noon at the First Missionary Baptist Church on East Andrews Avenue in Ozark with the pastor Dr. S.C. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the Marriana A.M.E. Church Cemetery in Clayton with Trawick Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Marie Dean, 77, of Ozark, died Friday, November 02, 2001, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday November 4, 2001, at Westview Memorial Cemetery with the Reverend Greg Aman officiating. Interment will follow Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlor until time to depart for the service today.
Mrs. Dean was born in Alexander City, Alabama and has lived in Ozark since 1967 where she was a member of Ozark Baptist Church, a homemaker and a former Sacred Harp singer She enjoyed gardening and raising Schnauzer dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Buford Dean, Ozark, one daughter and son-in-law Patsy Diane and Benny Jones, Ozark, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Walter Kenneth and Joyce McClellan, Youngsville LA, and Carl Timothy Dean, Ozark, one sister Jeanette Tapley, Marietta, GA, one brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Willie McCoullough, Pensacola, FL. Four grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial may be made to your favorite charity.

Mrs. Vivy Langford Fralish, 85 died Wednesday Oct. 31, 2001, in Dale Medical Center.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ariton United Methodist Church with the Revs. Franklin Bird, Hugh Owen, and Charles Langford officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church Cemetery Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6 tonight until one hour prior to service time on Saturday when it will be in the church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6-8 tonight.
"Fralish," as she was known by all her grandchildren and family members, or "Aunt Vivy" by most everyone else was a lifelong resident of Dale County and a member of the Ariton United Methodist Church, She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and friend to everyone. Her greatest joy came from helping others whether the were family, friend, or stranger was a homemaker who was known primarily for her baked goods, especially her famous caramel cake. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev Erroll Fralish; sons, Perry Jean Fralish and Don Fralish and twins, Billy and Betty Fralish.
Survivors include two daughters Laney Bradford, Panama City Fla. and Catherine Burke and her husbarid Marvin, Anniston; two sons, Bobby Fralish and his wife Judy, Montgomery and Jerry Fralish Attalla; one daughter-in-law Mrs. Perry (Victoria) Fralish Cameron Park, Calif.; one sister Hazel Bowman Dothan; two brothers Howard Ian Dothan, and Percy Langford Talladega; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren also survive.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 2346 West Main St., Suite 3 Ala. 36301.

Mrs. Irene Miller, 85, Ozark, died early Monday, Oct. 29, 2001, in an Ozark Nursing Facility following a long illness.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Holman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phil Stephens and the Rev. O'Neal Brown officiating. Interment will be in Westview Memorial Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6 tonight until service time Wednesday The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors 6-8 tonight.
Mrs. Miller was a native of Geneva County, having lived in Ozark most of her life. She was a member of The First Assembly of God Church and worked with Cowikee/Avondale Mills for over 40 years until the Ozark plant closed and she retired. Charlie Preston Miller, her husband, preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Judy Miller, Dothan, Billy and' Martha Miller, Ozark; six
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Flowers will be accepted and the family requests the omission of food.

Dr. Samuel Lee Hollobaugh, 63, died Sunday evening, Oct. 28, 2001, in Dale Medical Center following an apparent heart attack.
Memorial services will be 5:30 p.m. Thursday from the First United Methodist Church with Dr. Billy Gaither officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Dr. Hollobaugh was born Dec. 13, 1937, in Caylor Pa. He received his undergraduate degree from Ohio State University He moved to Birmingham in 1968 where he was associate professor of the department of endocrinology, University of Alabama of Birmingham. He moved to Ozark in 1981 where he opened his private practice in internal medicine. He retired in 2000 due to ill health.
Survivors: wife, Gina Hollobaugh of Birmingham; son, Samuel Lee Hollobaugh Jr. of Ozark.

Mrs. Estelle Reynolds McIntyre, 92, of Ozark, died Thursday, October 25, 2001, in Oakview Manor Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday October 28, 2001, at Campground Baptist Church with the Reverend Al Sonanstine officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6 p.m. today, October 27, 2001, until one hour prior to service time on Sunday when it will be in the Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6 until 8 p.m. this evening.
Mrs. McIntyre was born in Coweta County Georgia and moved to Ozark after her marriage where she lived the remainder of her life. She was a homemaker and always had her home open to family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul (Jack) McIntyre, one daughter, Helen Jean Price, one son, William J. "Billy" McIntyre, one sister, three brothers, and one half-brother.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Novak and her husband, Bella, and Joyce Strickland and her husband, D. K., Ozark, one daughter-in-law, Maxine McIntyre, Newton, nine grandchildren, Robert Price and his wife, Leioni, Niceville, Florida, Eddie Headrick, Dothan, Terry Price, Ozark, Sherry Price Allan and her husband, Jeff, Raleigh, N.C., Cathy Faison and her husband, Keith, Ashford, Kaye Buckalew and her husband, DeWayne, Dothan, Darlene Dezso and her husband, Andy Dothan, Kelly Strickland and his wife, Terry Orlando, Florida, Jeffrey Novak and his wife, Linda, Houston, Texas. Thirteen great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Mary Lois Dudley, 77, Eufaula, died Sunday Oct. 21, 2001, at her residence in Eufaula.
The funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Revs. Woody Brown and Richard Blevens officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be 6 p.m. today until service time. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m.
Mrs. Dudley was a native of Dale County, and a member of Meridian Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tenn.
Survivors: her husband, Jack E. Dudley, Eufaula; five sisters and husbands, Merle and Wenon Smith, Eufaula, Johnnie and Ed Wells, Ithaca, Mich., Betty Jean Walker Clopton; Jeanette and Douglas Williams, Ozark, Jerry Spivey, Skipperville; two brothers and wives, Bruce and Mary B. Tharpe, Eufaula, Kenneth 'Tharpe, Ozark; sister-in-law, Earlene Tharpe, Lynn Haven, Fla.; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Hubert Eugene Williams, 81, of Ozark died Thursday, October 18, 2001.
Mr. Williams was born in Clio, AL on Dec. 10, 1919. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1937 and served for 20 years. After leaving the Navy, he worked at Sears in Pennsylvania for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ora Jean Williams, Ozark; Step-daughter, Karen Raybon and husband Marty, Dothan; Step-son, Andy Wilkerson, Troy; Step-Mother, Ida Wheller, Plant City, FL; Sister, Jewel Leo, Reno, NV; Half-Sister, Ann Pope, Plant City, FL; 2 Half Brothers, Hartford Williams, Plant City, FL; and James Williams, Plant City, FL; Special Nephew, William Faulk and wife Nancy, Allentown, PA; Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mr. Kevin E. Viles, age 35, of Enterprise died unexpectedly Thursday, October 18, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 23, at 11 a.m. at Fuqua-Bankston Chapel in Ozark with Rev. John McCrummen and Dr. William Martin officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Monday, October 22, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Vivian B. Adams School on Stewart Tarter Road, Ozark, Ala., 36360.
Mr. Viles graduated from Carroll High School in 1984. He achieved an associate degree in applied science in 1989 from Alabama Aviation Technical College. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was employed with U.S. Helicopter in Ozark.
Survivors include his parents, Larry F. and Carmen C. Viles of Ozark; two sisters, Susanne C. (Earl) Densel of Skipperville, Ala., and Sheri L. (Douglas) Vogel of Fort Sill, Okla.; two brothers, Eric S. (Tracy) Viles of Ozark and Emerson E. Viles II of Woodbridge, Va.; a grandmother, Barbara Schmidt of Stuttgart, Germany; one uncle, Keith A. Viles of South Lyon, Mich.; 10 nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Ruby Franklin 79, of Ozark, died early Thursday morning October 18, 2001 in Ozark Nursing Facility following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A. M. Saturday, October 20, 2001 from the Chapel of Holman Funeral Home with the Reverend Floyd Ingram officiating. Interment will follow in Union Presbyterian Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 5 p.m. Friday, October 19, 2001, until service time on Saturday. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday evening.
Mrs. Franklin was a native of Coffee County having lived in Ozark since 1959, where she was a homemaker and a member of The Stonebridge Church of God. Her husband, John B. Franklin, Sr., preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, John B. Franklin, Jr., Ozark, two sisters, Mae Cullpepper, Orlando, Florida, and Ethel Rowe, Wilmington, Delaware. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

William B. "Crack" Kingsley, 91, of Ozark; died Sunday, October 14, 2001.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, from Claybank Cemetery with the Reverend Dc Billy D. Gaither officiating. Interment followed with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. It is requested that any memorials be made to the Family Life Center of the Ozark First United Methodist Church, 201 East Avenue, Ozark, Alabama 36360, or to any charity of your choice.
His wife, Mildred Deese Kingsley, Ozark, survives him; two daughters and one son-in-law, Kay Ozark, Kingsley, Houston, Texas and Berta Kingsley and her husband, William E. Blackwell, Ozark; two sons and their wives, Frank and Renee Harrell Kingsley, Ozark, Tom and Christine Polinski Kingsley, Marietta, Georgia; one brother and his wife, Oliver D. and Frances Parker Kingsley, Sr.; Ozark; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Jeffery Gene "Peanut" Bush Jr., infant son of Jeffery Gene and Bridgett Glover Bush of Newton, died early Tuesday morning, July 30, 2002, at Dale Medical Center.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. today at the Newton City Cemetery with the Rev. 4Villiam Parr officiating. Burial will follow with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today at their residence, 109 Knight Circle, Newton, until they depart for the cemetery.
Survivors other than his parents include his grandparents, Johnny and Sheila Glover of Newton, Dwayne Bush of Clearwater, Fla., and Mary Bush of Pensacola, Fla.; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mrs. Virginia Reeves, 74, Ozark, died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Ozark Nursing Facility.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Reeder officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Reeves was a native of Dale County, having returned to the Ozark area in 1986. She was married to the late Maj. Oscar E. Reeves, U.S. Army retired. She was a member of the Mabson United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Fay Reeves Wages, Auburn, Ga.; three sons, William C. Reeves, Ozark, Thomas E. Reeves, Johnson City, Icnn., and Stephen P. Reeves, Villa Rica, Ga.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Fran Harriman, 76, Ozark, died Sunday evening, July 28, 2002, at Dale Medical Center following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home.
Mrs. Harriman was a native of Port Angeles, Wash., having lived in Ozark since 1988. She was a member of the Assembly of God Faith.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Harriman, Ozark; one daughter, Kathy Evans, Daleville; three sons, Earl L. "Butch" Harriman Jr., Springdale, Wash.; Michael Scott "Mike" Harriman, Newman Lake, Wash., and Guy K. Harriman, St. Augustine, Fla.; one sister, Nona Preston, Paulsbo, Wash.; two brothers, Phil Rains and George Rains, both of Port Angeles, Wash.; five grandchildren, Windy Schumacher, Daleville, and Kristy McBroom, Daleville; Trina Doyle, Spokane, Wash.; Robert Doyle, Vancouver, Wash., and Christian Doyle, Alabama; 73 great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Minnie Lucille Ivey Paulk, 95, a. resident of Oakview Manor Nursing Facility, formerly of Ariton, entered into God's presence on Sunday, July 28, 2002.
Funeral services will be 3:00 P. M. Wednesday July 31, 2002, from Bethel Assembly of God Church with the Reverend Johnny Anderson officiating. Interment w.ill follow in the Church Cemetery, Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P. M. Tuesday evening, July 30, 2002, until one hour prior to service time on Wednesday when it will be in the Church. The family will receive friends in the funeral home parlors from 6:00 P M.
until 8:00 P M. Tuesday evening.
Mrs. Paulk was born October 15, 7906 in Barbour County and was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Emmett Paulk in 1976, and a great grandson, Michael Batchelor in 1991.
She is. survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Miriam and Cecil Batchelor, Ariton, four grandchildren. Jeffrey Batchelor and his wife, Carolyn, Terrell, Texas, Jake Batchelor and his wife, Connie Montgomery, Sharon Byrd and her husband, Jerry Ariton, and Barbara Anderson and her husband, Johnny; Ozark. Twelve great grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren also survive.

SSGT Ret. U.S. Army James Landtroop, 73, of Ozark, died Saturday morning, July 27, 2002, at his home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2002, at Daleville Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Steve Swain officiating and Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing.
Mr. Landtroop was a native of Tennessee and was retired from the U.S. Army as a staff sergeant after 20 years service.
Survivors include two sisters, Stella Barnes, Summitville, Tenn., and Louise Harper, Campaign, Tenn.; two brothers, Doris Landtroop, Lewisburg, Tenn.; and J.C. Landtroop, Lynchburg, Tenn.

Mrs. Margaret Jeanette Childree, 66, of Ozark, died Saturday afternoon at Dale Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 31, 2002, at the Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home, with the Rev. Wayne Swanson and Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memory Gardens, Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Childree was a native of Anniston, Ala., having lived in Dale County most of her life. She worked for Phillips Van Huesen for 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Cary Swanson, Griffin, Ga.; two sons, Scott Frier and Douglas Thompson, both of Ozark, Ala.; one sister, Sue Crews, Jonesboro, Ga.; four brothers, McArthur Fair, Edward Eair, Gene Fair, all of Jacksonville; and Jimmy Fair, Weaver; four grandchildren, Scott McKinney Jennifer Frier, Reed Swanson and Rhett Swanson.

Robert Earl Beacham, 51, of 111 Williams Drive, Midland City died Friday July 26, 2002, at Flowers Hospital.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church with the Rev. W. F. Morris officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Beacham was born March 3, 1951, in Dale County and lived in Midland City all of his life. He was employed with Collins Sign Company for the past six years.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Beacham of Midland City; three sons, Robert Beacham, Octavius Bennett and Kevin Bennett all of Midland City; a step-son, Ricardo Bermett of Midland City; three daughters, Gloria Blocker of Dothan, Marshae (Darin) Jones, and Audrey Lassiter of Ozark; a step-daughter, Brittney Bennett of Midland City; five grandchildren; a grandmother, Katie Gibson; four brothers, Raymond Beacham of Echo, Alvin Beacham of Dothan, Curtis Beacham of Dothan, Willie Calvin Beacham of New Jersey; three sisters, Willene Thomas of Midland City Willa Dean Smith of New Jersey Vera Beacham of Midland City; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bessie Harris Glover, 94, of Ozark, died Friday morning, July 26, 2002, in Ozark Nursing Facility following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Southside Baptist Church with the Rev. W. L. Sheffield officiating. Interment will follow in Ozark City Cemetery with Holman Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Visitation will be in the funeral home parlors at 3 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. today. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 902 Highway 123, Ozark, Ala., 36360.
Mrs. Glover was a native and life-long resident of Ozark and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar William Glover in 1996.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Voncile and Will Ivey Andrews of Ozark; four grandchildren, Connie S. Hataway and her husband, Ferrell, Ivy Lynne Andrews, Don Stork and his wife, Janet, and Mark Stephen Andrews and his wife, Andrea; great-grandchildren, Angie Tratham and her husband, Chris, Drew Hataway, John Stork and his wife, Amanda, Jennifer Peloquin and her husband, Heath, Mary Beth Farris and her husband, Joe; great-great-grandchildren, Abby Lynne Andrews and Thomas Will Andrews, Emilee Peloquin, Ethan Peloquin, Trevor Farris, Christian Farris; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Salome and Harry Power of Jackson, Ala. and Alice Riley of Madison, Ala., formerly of Ozark; one brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Zelona Harris of Ozark; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnnie Lorene Spears, 83, of Skipperville died at her daughter's home in Barbour County Thursday July 25, 2002.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Peters and the Rev. Joe Spears officiating. Burial will be: in Wesley Chapel. Methodist Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home of Ozark directing. Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the daughter's home in Barbour County, 455 County Road 43, Clayton. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
Mrs. Spears was a native and life-long resident of Dale County. She was a member of Whaley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard Spears; a daughter, Sue Spears; and a granddaughter, Suzanne Daughtry.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Anthony Helms of Clayton; one son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Betty Spears of Skipperville; one sister, Gladys Tharpe of Dothan; nine grandchildren, Renae Arnold, Karen Smith, Shannon Stinson, Deanna Cook, Joyce Cousins, Johnny Spears, Joe Spears, Tracey Mims and Michelle Woods; 76 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
