Alabama, U.S., County Marriage Records, 1805-1967 - 1814-1935

Mr. James Ed Freeman age 91 of Huntsville, AL formerly of Dekalb County, AL
passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2002 in Jackson County Hospital.
Mr. Freeman was born December 26, 1910, son of the late William and Maggie Lee
Freeman. He was a retired farmer and member of the Fyffe Church of God. He was preceded
in death by his Wife; Vera Freeman in 1997.

Funeral service will be 11am CDT Friday, May 17, 2002 from the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Coy Hallmark and Rev. Fred Higgins officiating.. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah
Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8pm CDT at the funeral home.

Survivors include his Daughter and Son-in-law; Janice and Douglas Lowther of Huntsville, AL
Grandchildren; Ian and Kyle Lowther

Mrs. Priscilla Long Harris age 62 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Tuesday, may 14, 2002 in a
Chattanooga Hospital. Mrs. Harris was a native of Dekalb County, AL, born January 12, 2002
daughter of the late Ben W. and Annie Mae Odell Harris. She was retired from Fort Payne Bank.

Survivors include her Husband; Ted Harris of Fort Payne, AL
Daughter; Jennifer Harris of Fort Payne, AL
Sons; Steve Pertree of Valley Head, AL and Tod Harris of Fort Payne, AL.,
Grandchildren; Matt Pertree and Raven Harris

Graveside service will be 2pm CDT Thursday, May 17, 2002 at the Glenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Edna Brunell Owens McGee age 83 of Fort Payne, AL passed away
Monday, May 20, 2002 at BMC Hospital in Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. McGee was
born January 26, 1919 in Dekalb County, AL
daughter of the late John William and Bessie Cooper Owens. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church

Graveside service will be Wednesday, may 22, 2002 at 1pm at
Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Mark Lacey officiating.

Survivors include her Sons; Dr. Steve McGee and Maurice McGee both Fort Payne, AL
Sisters; Brownie Akins of Fort Payne, AL and Pluma Green e of Fyffe, AL
Brothers; Edwin Owens of Glencoe, AL and Roy Owens of Scottsboro, AL
Grandchild; John McGee
3 Great-Grandchildren

MRS. BETTY JEAN SMITH

Mrs. Betty Jean Smith of Montgomery, AL passed away Friday, May 24, 2002. Mrs. Smith was a Baptist and a homemaker, she was a native of St. Joseph, Missouri.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Roddy and Lucy Smith of Milwaukee, WI, Rick and Sue Smith of Montgomery, AL, Randy Smith, grandchildren, Chantel Lyn Oakley, Christopher Smith, Allison Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Smith, General Manager of Heil Corp.

Memorial services will be at 11:00AM Wednesday, May 29 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Wiregrass Hospice of Montgomery, AL.

MRS. MARY BAKER

Mrs. Mary Baker, age 73 of Mentone, passed away Thursday, May 23 at BMC DeKalb. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM Saturday, May 25 at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Friday at the funeral home.

MRS. EVELYN OVELL PRICE AKINS

Mrs. Evelyn Ovell Price Akins, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, May 21 at BMC DeKalb.

Mrs Akins was a native of DeKalb County and the daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin and Laura Lou Cyndy Sterling Price . She was a member of the Fort Payne First United Methodist Church, and the Alphrine Driskell Sunday School Class.

Graveside services were held Thursday, May 23 from the Glenwood Cemetery with Dr. Mark Lacey officiating.

Survivors include three nieces. Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangement.

MR. JAMES DARRELL WOOTEN

Mr. James Darrell Wooten, age 44 of Fort Payne passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at BMC DeKalb Hospital.Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM Saturday from the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 5 until 8 PM.

Mrs. Majory Bryant (Granny Bryant) age 75 of Collinsville, AL
passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002 at her residence. Funeral service will
be Friday, May 10, 2002 at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.
Charles Flanagan and Rev. Terry DeHart officiating. Burial will follow in the
Lebanon Cemetery.

The family will accept flowers or donations to Alacare.

Survivors include her Sons; Herman (Brenda) Bryany, Howard (Barbara) Bryany,
Harlan Bryant, Halfred (Sibie) Bryant, Hancel (Rosie) Bryant,
and Harvel (Charlotte) Bryant all of Fort Payne, AL

Grandchildren; Drew and Linda Hamilton, Beverly Gerlits, Randy Bryant, Paul Bryant,
Michael Bryant, Andrea Gerlits, Kurt Bryant, Marty Bryant, Dusty Bryant, and Rickey
Bryant, Jesse Bryant, Amanda Floyd, Robert Batte, Baley Batte, and Candace Caudluell.
She was preceded in death by her Husband; Rev. Luther Bryant and Brother; E. C. Chandler

Mrs. Ann Myrick age 64 of Grove Oak, AL passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2002
at her residence. Funeral service will be Friday, May 10, 2002at 11am CDT at the
Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Reacy Thrasher officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

Mike Cleckler officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirk Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Ruth Waddell age 79 of Sylvania, AL passed away Thursday, May 9, 2002
at at her residence. Funeral service will be Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 4pm CDT at the
Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carthell Owens officiating. Burial will follow in the
Antioch Cemetery.

Miss Christina Teall age 16 of Fyffe, AL passed away Saturday, May 11, 2002
in Sylvania, AL. Funeral service will be Monday, May 13, 2002
at 11am CDT at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carthell
Owens and Sister Sherry Hixon officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Sardis Cemetery.

She was a Junior at Fyffe High School.
She played the Saxophone in the Fyffe Marching Band.
and was the assistant Drum Major, she enjoyed working with children at her church and
enjoyed singing at church.

Mr. Steve Ragan age 56 of Pisgah, AL passed away Friday, May 10, 2002
at his residence. Funeral service will be Monday, May 13, 2002
at 2pm CDT at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens

Haigwood Cemetery.
