Mrs. Avera Mae Yates age 85 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday,
January 6, 2001 in Cartersville, GA. Mrs. Yates was a native of Dekalb County, AL
born November 8, 1915, daughter of the late R. B. and Minnie Kittle Knott.
She was a member of the family Worship Center, Fort Payne and retired from
Wrights Catering Service.

Survivors include her Daughters; Hazel Cowart of Fort Payne, AL
Glenda Ann Chester of Cartersville, GA.
Son; W. C. Yates of Fort Payne, AL
Grandchild; Karen Gouger
Great-Grandchildren; Matthew and Daniel Gouger.

Funeral services will be 11am CST Monday, January 8, 2001 from the
Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry DeHart officiating. Burial will follow
in the Liberty Hill Cemetery in Geraldine, AL
Pall Bearers include; Greg Henderson, Jerry Kittle, Jerry Sherril, Don Yates, Bobby
Harris, and Wilbur Cowart.

Mrs. Mary Lucille Powell age 75 of Dutton passed away Thursday,
January 4, 2001 at Jackson County, Al Hospital. Funeral services will be
Sunday, January 7, 2001 at 2pm CST at Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Ronnie Day and Rev. David Moses officiating. Burial will follow
in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include a Daughter and Son-in-law; Pam and Glenn Jacobs of Dutton, AL
2 Grandchildren; Brad Jacobs of Dutton and Stacy Jacobs of Fackler, AL
2 Great-Grandchildren; Blake and Desiree Jacobs of Fackler, AL.

Mrs. Ruby Deaton at 88 of Crossville, AL passed away Friday, January 5, 2001
at Crossville Health Care Center in Crossville, AL. Funeral services will be
Sunday, January 7, 2001 at 12:30pm CST at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel
with Rev. Don Self and Rev. Willis Kelly officiating. Burial will follow in the
Beulah Cemetery.

Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-law; Linda and Lee Roy Collins of Fyffe, AL
2 Sisters; Alice Downs of Fyffe, Al and Geneva Pope of Albertville, AL
6 Grandchildren; Sammy Ledbetter, Steve and Darlene Ledbetter,
Jamie Johnson, Brian and Sharon Collins, Steven Collins and Jon Collins.
8 Great-Grandchildren; Brittany and Ashton Ledbetter, Amy and Adam Collins,
Heather, Marshall, and Sarah Johnson, and Parker Simpson.

Mr. Claude Bryan Wheeler age 96 of Pisgah, AL passed away Thursday,
January 4, 2001 in Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services
will be Saturday, January, 6, 2001 at the Pisgah Baptist Church at 2pm CST
with Rev. Alan Crawford and Rev. Bill Lett officiating. Burial will follow
in the adjoining cemetery.

Survivors include Daughter and Son-in-law; Cynthia and Bill Corbin of Pisgah, AL
Son-in-law; Jim Roden and his Wife Claudette Roden of Chattanooga, TN.
5 Grandchildren; Terry and Roger Corbin, Angela Camp, Alan Roden,
and Lisa Thomas.
8 Great-Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great-grandchildren.

Mr. Wheeler was preceded in death by wife, Flora Wheeler, Daughter,
Linda Lee Roden, Parents, Jim and Laura Wheeler, 3 Brothers,
Jim, Earnest, and Eugene Wheeler, 3 Sisters, Agnes Smith, Vera Bowman,
and Idella Tinker.

Mr. Wheeler was a member of the Pisgah Baptist Church where he was
a deacon for 55 years.

Mrs. Blanche Downs age 96 of Fyffe, AL passed away Saturday,
January 6, 2001 at Crowne Health Care Center in Fort Payne, AL.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 8, 2001 at 11am CST at the
Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Griffin officiating. Burial
will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. family will receive friends Sunday,
January 7, 2001 from 3 until 9pm CST at the Funeral Home.

Survivors include Sister; Zuda Westbrooks of Rossville, GA
Special Nephew; Billy Ray Thomas of Fyffe, AL
4 Grandchildren, 4 Step-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Grandchildren,
8 Step-Great-Grandchildren, and 2 Step-Great-Great-Grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Dave Downs; Sons,
Ralph Downs and William Downs; Step-Son, Orville Downs;
Step-Daughter, Winnie Burson.

Mrs. Down was a member of the Fyffe First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nellie Jane (Miles) Johnson age 88 of Higdon, AL passed away
Thursday, January 4, 2001 at Sunbridge Health Care in South Pittsburg, TN
Born in Jackson County, AL and a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church
in Higdon, AL

She was preceded in death by her Parents; John and Elizabeth Miles,
her Husband; Edard Johnson; Brothers; Frank, Jay, Rufus, Willy and Charlie Miles.
Sisters; Myrtle McDonald and Alma Tinker.

Survivors include Sons; Carlton Frazer of Flat Rock, AL
Vernon Johnson of Higdon, AL
Daughter; Carolyn Anderton of Bryant, AL
6 Grandchildren and 4 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel Sunday,
January 8, 2001 at 3pm CST with Rev. Glenn Tilley officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kenemer Cemetery in Flat Rock, AL
Visitation will be Friday, January 5, 2001 after 5:30 until 9pm CST.
Saturday, January 6, 2001 8:30am until 9pm CST and Sunday,
January 7, 2001 from 8:30am CST until time of service.

Charlsey Ann Bradley age 58 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Saturday, January 6, 2001
at her residence. Mrs. Bradley was a native of Dekalb County, Al born September 9, 1942
daughter of the late Joe S. Bradley. She was a member of the Allen Memorial Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon CST Wednesday, January 10, 2001 from the
Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Murdock and Rev. Randall Beagles
officiating. Burial will be at 2pm CST Thursday, January 11, 2001 from the Glenwood
Cemetery.

Survivors include her Son; Robert C. Pardua, Jr. of New Jersey
Daughter; Cynthia Gale Miranda of New York and Lisa Marie Welsh of California

Mr. Daryll Wade Hill age 35 of Hixon TN. passed away Sunday, January 7, 2001
in Chattanooga, TN. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 10, 2001 at 3pm CST
at the Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Lamar Lasley, Rev. El Heard, and
Rev. Robert Randolph officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Survivors include his Brother; Jerry Hill of Fort Oglethorpe, GA
Half-Brother; Alvin Graham of Hixon, TN
Half-Sister; Alisa Hill of Hixon, TN.
Foster Parents; Fletcher and Opal Hill of Hixon, TN

Her was preceded in death by his Mother, Wanda Parton Hill.

Mr. Fred C. Bouldin age 74 of Fyffe, AL. passed away Wednesday,
January 10, 2001 at his residence. Funeral services will be Friday,
January 12, 2001 at 2pm CST at the Rainsville Funeral Home Chapel with
Rev. Howard Bouldin, Rev. Verlon Stiefel and Rev. Phillip Webb officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens. Family will receive
friends Thursday, January 11, 2001 from 5pm until 9pm CST.

2 Grandchildren; Scott and Janice Bouldin, and Jennifer Robertson.

Mrs. Bessie P. Massey age 91 of Fort Payne, AL passed away Wednesday,
January 10, 2001 at Crowne Health Care in Fort Payne, AL. Mrs. Massey was
born march 29, 1909 in Dekalb County, AL daughter of the late Henry Isaac and
Mary Ell Brackett Oliver. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and retired
from Dekalb Hospital where she was a cook.

Funeral services will be 1pm CST Friday, January 12, 2001 from the Wilson
Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Parker and Rev. Ronald Berry officiating.
Burial will follow in the Walker's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends
on Thursday, January 11, 2001 from 4pm until 8pm CST at the funeral home.
The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to Asbury United
Methodist Church of Fort Payne, AL

Survivors include her Sons and Daughter-in-law; Eldridge and Nell Massey of
Grant, AL., Earl and Jean Massey of Fort Payne, AL., Arwin and the late Brenda
Massey of Conyers, GA
Sisters; Lillie Jones of Birmingham, AL, Ethel Baswell of Collinsville, AL.,
Alma Meadows of Birmingham, AL.
Brothers; Arnold Oliver of Collinsville, AL., Wilton Oliver of Leesburg, AL
8 Grandchildren and 5 Great-Grandchildren

Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.

Mr. James Curl of Fort Payne, AL passed away Wednesday, January 10, 2001.
Mr. Curl was a native of Blount County, AL the son of the late James
Pleasant and Susan McGlawn Curl. He was a member of the Central Baptist Church
in Fort Payne, AL and a veteran of World War II, a member of the V.F.W. and
D.A.V. of Fort Payne, AL He was the owner of the Fort Payne Tire Center in
Fort Payne, AL

Mr. Curl is survived by his wife, Mrs. Oleta Hepinstall Curl, Daughter and Son-in-law,
Bettina and Jim Cunningham of Fort Payne, AL
Son and Daugher-in-law, Jimmy and Carla Curl of Cartersville, GA.
Sisters, Rubye Marlowe of Kansas City, Kansas
May Morton of Albertville, AL
6 Grandchildren and 3 Great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11am CST Saturday, January 13, 2001 at the Fort Payne
Memorial Gardens. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made
to the American Heart Association.

Mrs. Lois C. Templeton age 82 of Attalla, Al formerly of Fort Payne, AL
passed away Friday, January 12, 2001 at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Templeton was born March 23, 1918 in Dekalb County, AL
daughter of the late William Henry and Laura Viola Bryant Clark.. She
was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church and retired from Goodyear.
Her Husband, Edgar Templeton preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be Monday, January 15, 2001 at 1pm CST from
the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wallace H. Wells, Jr. officiating.
Burial will follow in the Town Creek Cemetery. The family will receive
friends Sunday, January 14, 2001 from 4 until 7pm CST at the funeral home.

Survivors include her Sister; Mildred Wells of Attalla, AL
Brother; William J. Clark of Attalla, AL
Several Nieces and Nephews.
