Lorene Pugh

Lorene Pugh age 87 of Guin, AL died Friday, November 25, 2005 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, AL.

Born in Guin, AL she is the Daughter of the late Jerry and Eller Smith Bozeman and the Wife of the late Austin Pugh. She had lived in Guin all of her life and was a member of the Guin Free Will Baptist Church. She had retired from the Guin Elementary School Lunch Room and had also baby sat 90 local children.

She is survived by a Son; Frank Dale ( Vicki ) Pugh of Guin, AL and A Sister, Effie Mae ( Ruben ) Warren of Birmingham, AL.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Austin Pugh, 4 Brothers, Mack, Hill, Howard and Lloyd Bozeman and 2 Sisters, Lillian Dickinson and Lilly Cantrell.

Services held Sunday, November 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Scott Stokes officiating.

Golden Sizemore

Golden Sizemore age 80 of Sulligent, AL passed away Wednesday November 23, 2005 in the Care Center in Vernon, AL.

A native of Lamar County Alabama, he was the son of the late Daniel Wells and Jenny Bell Thomas Sizemore. A resident of the Fairview Community and was of the Baptist Faith, served in World War II as a Clerk Typist for General MacArthur. He was a “gentle man” who enjoyed the outdoors, cooking, and gardening and had worked for TCI Ensley Works in Birmingham AL.

Survived by Two Brothers, Trezzie Ray (Nell) Sizemore and Gary Sizemore both of Sulligent, Brother-In-Law and “Best Friend” John R. Christian. 8 nephew and 7 nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters, Carmen S. Bullard, Eric Sizemore, Thomas Sizemore, Daniel Sizemore, Millie Gray Sizemore Smithson Christian, John Murphy Sizemore, William Trice Sizemore.

Funeral Services Friday November 25, 2005 at 2 PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with Burial in the West Alabama Memorial Gardens, Gu-Win, AL with Bro. Tim Sizemore officiating. Nephews served as pallbearers.

Carmon McGowan

Carmon McGowan age 75 of Winfield, AL died Tuesday, November 22, 2005 in the Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL.

Born in Guin, AL. He is the Son of the late Joseph Kelly and Pearlie Haney McGowan. He had lived in Birmingham, AL before retiring from US Steel and had lived in the Guin and Winfield area the past 17 years. He was a member of the Gu-Win Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the Korean War having served in the US Army and a member of the Gideons.

He is survived by his Wife, Margaret Faught McGowan, of Guin, AL, Two Daughters, Debbie (Alan) Cork and Nancy McGowan all of Birmingham, AL, Two Grandchildren, Nathan (Beth) Cork of Alpharetta, GA and Erin Cork, of Birmingham, AL, Two Sisters, Margie Koon of Tuscaloosa, AL and Marie Boone of Guin, AL and a Brother, Danny McGowan of Guin, AL.

Services held Friday, November 25, 2005 at 11:00 AM from the Gu-Win Baptist Church with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. B.D. Chambless officiating.

Eunice Minor

Eunice Minor age 80 of Sulligent, Alabama passed away Friday November 18, 2005 at the Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory Mississippi.

A native and life long resident of Lamar County Alabama, She was the Daughter of the late Robert T. and Rose Ever Spruiell Duncan. She was a member of the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She had worked for several Garment Plants.

Survived by her Husband Audie C. Minor of Sulligent, Alabama, One Son: Kim D. ( Kayla ) Minor of Crossett Arkansas, Four Grandchildren: Michael Landon Green e, Koven Duncan Minor, Katie Dianne Minor and Ever Rose Minor.

Preceded in death by Two Sisters, Two Brothers, Two Half-Sisters and Three-Half Brothers.

Services will be Sunday November 20, 2005 at 2: PM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Pine Springs Cemetery. Bro. Gerald Gann officiating.
