Ema Jean Jackson

Ema Jean Jackson age 77 of Sulligent, Alabama died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 in the Northwest Medical Center in Winfield, Alabama.

Born in Sulligent, Alabama. She is the Daughter of Minnie Glo Markham Harris and the late Greely Harris and the Wife of the late Otto Jackson. She had lived in Sulligent most of her life and attended the First Baptist Church of Detroit. She owned and operated JJ’s Diner and JJ’s Coffee Cup for 14 years before retiring.

She is survived by her Mother, Minnie Glo Harris of Winfield, AL, Two Grandchildren, Christopher Brian (Rebecca) Jackson and Wendy Michelle Jackson all of Sulligent, AL, Two Sisters, Betty Sue Harris of Winfield, AL and Mary Elledge of Powder Springs, GA, A Brother, Jack (Tommye) Harris of Ripley, MS and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.

She was also preceded in death by a Son, James (Jimmy) Otto Jackson, and a Brother, Billy Harris.

Services held Saturday, June 26, 2004 at 2:00 pm from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Danny Stanford officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Wesley Chapel Cemetery Fund.

Al Ceterowski

Al Ceterowski age 83 of Birmingham, AL died Thursday, June 17, 2004 in Birmingham.

Born in Philadelphia, PA. He is the Son of the late Anthony and Tillie Wojcik Ceterowski. He was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Philadelphia, PA and a Veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy. He had lived in Birmingham the past 50 years where he attended the First Baptist Church Sandusky and had worked for Alabama Metals.

He is survived by his Wife, Eura Mae Hankins Ceterowski of Birmingham, AL, Two Daughters, Jackie Johns of Augusta, GA and Lynda Henderson of Lemont, IL, Three Grandchildren, Elizabeth Johns of Augusta, GA, Scott Stokes of Birmingham, AL, and Christie Styles of Lemont, IL, Five Great Grandchildren, and Three Great Great Grandchildren, Two Sisters, Eleanor O'Hey and Catherine Ceterowski and Four Brothers, Henry, Walt, Joe and George Ceterowski all of Philadelphia, PA and a Host of Nieces and Nephews.

He was also preceded in death by Two Sisters, Josephea and Mitilda Ceterowski.

Services held Saturday, June 19, 2004 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel with burial in the Guin City Cemetery. Bro. Rick Cooper officiating.

Mary Lue Hill

Mary Lue Hill age 74 of Guin, AL died Saturday, June 12, 2004 at her residence.

Born in Lamar County, Alabama. She is the Daughter of the late James Lester and Carrie Ethel Burnett Cole. She had lived in the Piney Grove Community most of her life and was a member of the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

She is survived by her Husband, Hansel Lee Hill of Guin, AL, Two Sisters, Faye Barnes of Sulligent, AL and Omie Autrey of Okolona, MS, Five Brothers, Troy Cole of Guin, AL, Claude Cole of Winfield, AL, Elbert Cole of Beaverton, AL, William Jessie (Dick) Cole of Birmingham, AL and Readus Cole of Beaverton, AL. Several Nieces and Nephews.

She was also preceded in death by Three Brothers, Valcus, John, and Robert Cole.

Funeral Services held Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at 11:00 AM from the Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church with burial in the adjoining cemetery. Bro. Randy Wright officiating.

Preston South

Preston South age 89 of Sulligent, Alabama died Tuesday, June 8, 2004 in the Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin, Alabama.

Born in Lamar County, Alabama. He is the Son of the late Franklin and Addie Osborn South. He had lived in the Fairview Community most of his life and was a member of the Fairview Baptist Church.

He is survived by Two Sisters, Nellie Christian of Bessemer, AL and Annie Ruth Frye of Guin, AL and A Brother, Johnny South of Winfield, AL.

He was also preceded in death by a Sister, Pauline Smith and Two Brothers, Earnest South and Dexter South.

Funeral Services held Thursday June 10, 2004 at 11:00 AM from the Norwood Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Fairview Cemetery. Bro. James Cantrell officiating.
