Edd Blackwell
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Edd Blackwell, 52, of Red Branch Road died Saturday at a Tennessee hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Bert Baker and the Rev. James Warren officiating.
Burial will be in Prosperity Cemetery.
Mr. Blackwell was a native of Marshall County, Tenn. He was a painter.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda Coats Blackwell of Fayetteville; two sons, Donnie Roland and Scottie Blackwell, both of Fayetteville; one daughter, Misty Young of Fayetteville; one brother, Herschel Blackwell Jr. of Lewisburg, Tenn.; three sisters, Corrine Collins, Mazie Taylor and Virgie Parks, all of Lewisburg; and six grandchildren.

Charles R. Coday
Charles Ray Coday, 53, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce a memorial service.
Mr. Coday was a native of Missouri and had lived in Huntsville one year. He was a systems engineer with Raytheon.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce L. Coday of Huntsville; two sons, Aaron C. Coday of Champaign, Ill., and Nicholas J. Coday of Huntsville; and three sisters, Lucile Brown of Atlanta, Lillie Ann Dela Rosa of Phoenix, Ariz., and Geneva M. Coday of San Diego, Calif.
Memorial donations may be made to American Paralysis Association, 500 Morris Ave., Springfield, N.J., 07081, 1-800-225-0292. The family requests no flowers.

Freddie B. Gray
Freddie Brandon Gray of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one son, Greg B. Gray of Huntsville; one sister, Margaret Foster of Muncie, Ind.; and two grandchildren.

Mary A. Lemley
DECATUR - Mary Ann Lemley, 55, died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ridouts Brown-Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Wayne Otte officiating.
Burial will be in Madison Cemetery.
She was a native of Limestone County.
Survivors include two daughters, Rose Mary Corum of Huntsville and Debra Boyd of Harvest; two brothers, Jack D. Taylor and Willie L. Taylor, both of Decatur; two sisters, Dorothy Mae Hopkins of Huntsville and Flossie Mae Proctor of Decatur; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lee H. Marks
Lee H. Marks, 65, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 11:15 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Larry Dill and and the Rev. Elise Moss officiating.
Burial will be in Elkton Cemetery in Elkton, Tenn., with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Marks was treasurer for CASA and worked with Habitat for Humanity. She had taught at Whitesburg Middle School and Grissom High School. She made two church mission trips to Bolivia.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd B. Marks; one daughter, Julie Mosby Zimmerman of Grafton, Ill.; three sons, John Richard Mosby of Grafton, Ill., Jeffrey R. Mosby of Pineville, La., and Phillip T. Mosby of Las Vegas; two stepdaughters, Sandra Lance of Atlanta and Connie Schmitzer of Huntsville; one sister, Julie Gondry of Stockton, Calif.; and six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
Memorial donations may be made to CASA, the Trinity Methodist Church mission program or Habitat for Humanity.

Evelyn M. Oswald
Evelyn M. Oswald, 74, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Bob Dobbins officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Oswald was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur E. Oswald of Huntsville; one daughter, Glenda Speegle of El Campo, Texas; one sister, Eva Driver of Gulf Shores; and two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mamie Belle Scott
ATHENS - Mamie Belle Scott, 87, of 915 North Beaty St. died Saturday at her home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Ron Owens officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Miss Scott was a native of Limestone County and a member of Central Church of Christ.
She is survived by a sister-in-law, Martha E. Scott of Athens, three nieces and one nephew.

Angela C. Baucom
ATHENS - Angela Charlene Baucom, 35, of Hammonds Road died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Karl Johnson and Randy Johnson officiating.
Burial was to be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Baucom was a homemaker and a member of Round Island Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Dustin Matthew Baucom of Athens; her parents, Charles Edward and Barbara Baucom of Athens; one sister, Sharon Kieff of Athens; two brothers, Byron Baucom and Derek Baucom, both of Athens; one grandfather, John Edwin Baucom of Athens; and three nephews.

Marion L. Bright
Marion Lester Bright, 77, of 164 Wilkerson Drive died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with Elder Leroy Laughinghouse officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Survivors include one niece, Dorothy Janice Laughinghouse of Huntsville; one great-aunt, Florence Jones McCaulley of Huntsville; and four great-nieces and three great-nephews.

Donald Bryant
MERIDIANVILLE - Donald Bryant, 48, died today at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Bryant was a native of Mobile, but spent most of his life in Madison County. He was also a member of Union Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Donald Lee Bryant of Cornersville, Tenn.; his mother, Kathleen Bryant of Meridianville; one brother, Allan Bryant of Meridianville; and two nieces.

Marjorie A. Deaton
Marjorie Ann Deaton, 96, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at First United Methodist Church.
Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Deaton was a native of Madison County. She was retired from the U.S. Army Missile Command and was a graduate of David Liscomb College. She was also a member of Randolph Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include two cousins, Thomas A. Gilliam and Ruth E. Gilliam, both of Huntsville.

Josephine Denson
SCOTTSBORO - Josephine Denson, 76, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was Monday at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Willmon and the Rev. Shirley Byrum officiating.
Burial was in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Mrs. Denson was preceded in death by one son, Richard Kenneth Denson.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Richard ''Jack Denson; one daughter, Wanda Avans of Scottsboro; one son, Ron Denson of Scottsboro; one sister, Mildred Garner of Nashville; and two brothers, Charlie Matthews of Manchester, Tenn., and Carl Matthews of Destin, Fla.

Mamie L. Drake
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Mamie Lou Drake, 82, of 7235 U.S. 431 South died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ebeneezer M.B. Church with the Rev. Walter Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Big Cove Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Clark and Helen Drake, both of Owens Cross Roads, and Viola Hinds of Huntsville; two sons, Horace Drake and Willis Drake, both of Huntsville; and 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Russell R. Duncan
BOAZ - Russell R. Duncan, 86, of 8010 McVille Road died Sunday at an Attalla nursing home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Dovie Duncan; three step-sons, Bobby Cain, Carl Cain and Benny Cain, all of Albertville; one sister, Cindy Greer of Altoona; and nine grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ray T. Epperson
Ray Talmadge Epperson, 71, of Huntsville died Aug. 29 at his home. The memorial service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bicentennial chapel on Redstone Arsenal.
Spry Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mr. Epperson was a native of Leeds, but had lived in Huntsville since 1975.
Survivors include his wife, Hermine E. Epperson of Vienna, Austria; and one daughter, Kristina E. Epperson of Vienna.

Johnny Ewing Jr.
Johnny Ewing Jr., 79, of 806 Orchard St. in Huntsville died Wednesday, Sept. 2, at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at his home with the Rev. A.D. Hammonds officiating.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Ewing was a member of Antioch P.B. Church. He was also a member of the American Legion for more than 50 years.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobbie Lard of Cleveland, Ohio, Johnnie Mae Charles and Gloria Conley, both of Huntsville, and Patricia Haley of Atlanta; six sons, Alex Ewing of Chicago, Eddie L. Ewing, Steve Ewing and Emory Nance, all of Huntsville, John Russell of Champagne, Ill., and Michael Kennamore of Long Beach, Calif.; and 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Franklin
ARAB - Elizabeth Franklin, 75, died Monday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at New Braishers Church Cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Cecil Franklin; two sons, David Franklin and Floyd Franklin, both of Arab; three brothers, Roy Bales of Albertville, Jim Bales of Nashville and Howard Bales of Atlanta; two sisters, Novella Pickett and Essie Mae Ivey, both of Arab; and six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Freddie B. Gray
Freddie Brandon Gray of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. J.B. Pendergraft officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge.
Mrs. Gray was a member of the Elks Lodge Emblem Club, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Gray Sr.; and one son, William C. Gray Jr.
Survivors include one son, Greg B. Gray of Huntsville; one sister, Margaret Foster of Muncie, Ind.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Minnie A. Hall
SCOTTSBORO - Minnie A. Hall, 96, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Rudder Funeral Home with Dr. David Hall officiating.
Burial was in Trenton Cemetery.
Mrs. Hall was a native of Jackson County and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan A. Hall.
Survivors include two daugters, Bertha Parkerson of Rossville, Ga.; and Hazel Broadway of Edgewater, Fla.; two sons, Roy Hall of Spartanburg, S.C.; and Clarence Hall of Scottsboro; three sisters, Annie Kindred of Bridgeport, Ethel Houk of Gurley and Pearl Hall of Woodville; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Bernice S. Harris
Bernice Smith Harris, 87, of 500 St. Clair Ave. in Huntsville died Friday at her home. The funeral was today at noon at Big Shiloh P.B. Church with the Rev. Woodrow Kirby officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three sons, David Jones Jr., Roosevelt Rice and John R. Harris, all of Madison; one sister, Josie Moore of Huntsville; and 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Rubye W. Helms
BOAZ - Rubye Wiggins Helms, 88, of 1605 Gasaway Road died Sunday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Cox Chapel Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Betty Jenkins of Albertville, Wanda Bowman of Boaz and Linda Duke of Attalla; three step-daughters, Delores Reed of Gadsden, Angie Smith of Huntsville and Peggy Helms of Florida; one son, Ray Wiggins of Boaz; one step-son, Joe Helms of Leesburg; two sisters, Lorene Jacobs of Boaz and Bertie Noojin of Gadsden; and 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Earl Holmes
BOAZ - Earl Holmes, 84, of 606 Royal Ave., Boaz, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 11 a.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in the Bethsadia Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Holmes; three daughters, Ann Williams, Magdalene Knight and Dorothy Gladden, all of Boaz; one son, Ed Holmes of Boaz; and 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mark Krasovsky
Mark Krasovsky, 88, of Huntsville died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. K. Glenn Courtney officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Krasovsky was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Survivors include two sisters, Agnes Shapoff of Michigan and Catherine Heimann of Huntsville; and one brother, James Krasovsky of Michigan.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care.

Margie M. Leonard
Margie Marie Leonard, 80, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 1 p.m. at Chapel of Peace Mausoleum with the Rev. Steve Sharp officiating.
Burial was in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Leonard of Huntsville; three daughters, Nellie Emmert of Abingdon, Va., Wanda McKinnon of Maryville, Tenn., and Karen Leonard of Hazel Green ; two sons, Jack Terry of Kingsport, Tenn., and Brad Leonard of Harvest; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.

Rhonda Y. Moore
NEW MARKET - Rhonda Yell Moore, 39, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Staggs and the Rev. Bobby Eates officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Moore was a native of Madison County and was a 1979 graduate of Johnson High School. She was also a member of Hazel Green Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth Moore of New Market; her parents, Wallace and Betty Jolley Yell of Huntsville; two brothers, Rickie Yell of New Market and Jeffrey Yell of Huntsville; and her fiance, Ernie Hydrick of New Market.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary C. Mullins
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Mary C. Mullins, 86, died Monday at a Georgia nursing home. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, William E. "Pete" Mullins of Knoxville, Tenn., and Don Mullins of Meridianville; one daughter, Judy Galbraith of Columbus, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Billy W. Sanders
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Billy W. Sanders, 50, died Monday at his home.
Mr. Sanders was a former resident of Athens.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home of Athens.

Ruby S. Skinner
Ruby Simmons Skinner, 69, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ward Gately officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge.
Mrs. Skinner was known as Ruby Walls when she was young. She was a native of Owens Cross Roads, but moved to Mansfield, Ohio, when she was married. She moved to Huntsville 12 years later. She was a cosmetologist.
Survivors include two daughters, Ella Ann Brown of New Albany, Ind., and Renee Miller of Madison; one son, Carl Simmons of Rohnert Park, Calif.; five brothers, E.C. Walls, Chester Walls, Ernest Walls, Sammy Walls and Eddie Walls Jr.; five sisters, Jimmie Hornbuckle, Mary Walls, Archie Mae Pogue, Jo Holland and Joyce Walls; and seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
