Flavius B. Alexander
Flavius Brooks Alexander, 90, of Huntsville died Tuesday in Parsons, Tenn. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include three daughters, Nedra N. Green and Jo Rose, both of Huntsville, and Nancy Price of Odenton, Md.; two sons, Lloyd T. Alexander of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Bill Alexander of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Blanche Turner of Parsons, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Childrens Home in care of Holmes Street Methodist Church, 501 Holmes Ave., Huntsville, 35801.

Marion S. Ames
Marion Smith Ames, 75, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The memorial service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Laurence Dill officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Ames was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was a member of the Friends of the Library. She was a United Methodist minister in New Jersey for 18 years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert G. Ames; three sons, Marc Cullen Ames of Huntsville, Timothy Samler Ames of Gurley and Jeffrey Steele Ames of Belmont, N.C.; two sisters, Valerie Secchia Kelly of Plantation, Fla., and Dorothy Debus Bowman of Fort Pierce, Fla.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or to the childrens ministry at Trinity United Methodist Church.

Mae Elmore
Mae Elmore, 89, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Lee J. Hudson officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Elmore was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. Until retirement, she worked at Lincoln Mills of Alabama.
Survivors include one daughter, Marie Brooks of Huntsville; one son, Vernard Gurley of Clearwater, S.C.; and five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gertrude L. Johns
Gertrude L. Johns, 96, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The memorial service will be Saturday at 5 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Chaplain Carl Malm officiating.
Mrs. Johns was a 1924 graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell A. Johns.
Survivors include two sons, Stanley A. Johns of Huntsville and Robert L. Johns of Anderson, S.C.; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity or to Hospice Cares.

William McWhorter
ARAB - William Blake McWhorter, infant son of Michael and Tamara McWhorter of 275 County Road 1855, died Monday at a Birmingham hospital. A graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Hopewell Church Cemetery with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Other survivors include a brother, Chad McWhorter of Arab; grandparents, Max and Glenda McWhorter of Arab and Buddy Aldridge and Betty Aldridge, both of Pinson; and his great-grandparents, Verbon McWhorter of Arab and J.P. Henderson of Summit.

Jerry W. Parks
Jerry Wayne Parks, 42, of 479 Blake Bottom Road in Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ricky Sykes officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Survivors include two daughters, Felecia Peoples and Lakisha Goode, both of Huntsville; three sons, Leon Dewayne Timmons, Jerry Wayne Peoples Jr. and Gerald Dewayne Goode, all of Huntsville; his father, Marion Parks Sr. of Huntsville; three sisters, Eathel Leslie, Glenda Robinson and Subrina Harris, all of Huntsville; four brothers, Robert C. Parks, Bernard R. Parks and Clyde E. Parks, all of Huntsville, and Marion Parks Jr. of Yakota, Japan.

Lloyd O. Sparks
RAINSVILLE - Lloyd O. Sparks, 86, died Tuesday at a Fort Payne nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Briggs King officiating.
Burial will be in Broadway Cemetery.
Survivors include four daughters, Faye Williams of Dalton, Ga., Dorothy Johnson of Monroe, Ga., Mary Ruth Bridges of Athens, Ga., and Connie Wren of Lakeland, Fla.; two sons, Billy Sparks of Colbert, Ga., and Bobby Sparks of Rainsville; three sisters, Blanche Guffey of Montgomery, Marjie Black of New Smyrna, Fla., and Sylvia White of Rainsville; one brother, Hoyle Sparks of New Smyrna; and 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Andrew E. Terry
Dr. Andrew Ezell Terry, 95, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Dr. Terry was a life member of Sigma Chi fraternity and a member of the Tennessee Valley chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Huntsville Rotary Club, Phi Kappa Phi and the First United Methodist Church. He was also a charter member and former president of the Huntsville/Madison County Council for International Visitors and Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society.
Survivors include one son, Robert J. Terry of Stone Mountain, Ga.; one daughter, Edith Sue Driskell of Louisville, Ky.; and nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Huntsville/Madison County Public Library.

Noma Trussell
SYLVANIA - Noma Trussell, 88, died Monday. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Revs. David Lockman and Gerald Wooten officiating.
Burial was to be in Beulah Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Lera Mae Stanley of LaFayette, Ga., and Jimmie Faye Lockman of Hixson, Tenn.; one foster son, Donnie Childress of Rising Fawn, Ga.; three sisters, Evelyn Grimes of Houston, Texas, Ellen Crawford of Longview, Texas, and Dorothy Brooks of Centre; and four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Maurine Williams
BRIDGEPORT - Maurine Williams, 68, died Monday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with Henry Camp and Jim Warren officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Cemetery in Hollywood.
Ms. Williams was a member of Rocky Springs Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Williams.
Survivors include her mother, Pauline Stewart Wright; and several cousins.
Visitation was to be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rocky Springs Church of Christ or a favorite charity.

Flavius B. Alexander
Flavius Brooks Alexander, 90, of Huntsville died Tuesday in Parsons, Tenn. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dalton Styes officiating.
Entombment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Ms. Alexander was a member of Robinson Chapel Methodist Church in Savannah, Tenn.
Survivors include three daughters, Nedra N. Green and Jo Rose, both of Huntsville, and Nancy Price of Odenton, Md.; two sons, Lloyd T. Alexander of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Bill Alexander of St. Louis, Mo.; one sister, Blanche Turner of Parsons, Tenn.; and 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to United Methodist Childrens Home in care of Holmes Street Methodist Church, 501 Holmes Ave., Huntsville, 35801.

Leo Anderson
FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Leo Anderson, 88, formerly of Ardmore, Ala., died Wednesday in Franklin. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gatlin Cemetery.
Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Survivors include one daughter, Margie Rector of Nashville; and five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lessie D. Bone
PORTLAND, Ore. - Lessie Davis Bone, 82, died Sept. 16 in Portland. The memorial service will be Saturday at noon at Royal Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Julius R. Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
Survivors include one sister, Eddie Rose Davis-Blackburn of Huntsville; and one nephew and care-giver, Marion O. Blackburn of Portland.

Ferroll M. Childers
HARTSELLE - Ferroll Melissa Childers, 92, of 1130 Childers Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Eva Baptist Church with the Revs. Phillip Robinson, Gary Driver and Daniel Mosteller officiating.
Burial will be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Childers was born Jan. 15, 1906 in Morgan County. She was a member of Eva Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James J. Childers, and one daughter, Desmones Driver.
Survivors include four sons, S.D. Childers, William Childers, Ronald Childers and Edsel Childers, all of Eva; two daughters, Lorene Saddler and Imogene Mosteller, both of Eva; and 17 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Billy D. Chitwood
COLLINSVILLE - Billy D. Chitwood, 71, died Wednesday at a Dekalb County Hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Revs. Hoyt Gilbert and Norman Steward officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Mr. Chitwood was retired from Vulcraft in Fort Payne and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He was also a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Jordan Chitwood of Collinsville; two daughters, Debra Edwards of Gadsden and Robin Entrekin of Glenco; one sister, Betty Carroll of Fort Payne; two brothers, Horton Chitwood and Norton Chitwood, both of Fort Payne; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bennie R. Crabtree Sr.
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Bennie R. Crabtree Sr., 71, of Amana Drive died Wednesday at a Lincoln County Hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Fayetteville Holiness Church of God with the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating.
Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Crabtree was a native of Lincoln County and was a retired carpenter with CFW Construction. He was a member of Fayetteville Holiness Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Bell Crabtree.
Survivors include two sons, Bennie R. Crabtree Jr. of Fayetteville and Ricky Crabtree of Shelbyville; three daughters, Becky Hames and Judy Holt, both of Flintville, and Nancy Pamplin of Fayetteville; one brother, Charlie Crabtree of Fayetteville; two sisters, Earline Doss of Taft and Beulah Gray of Fayetteville; and 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Katherine N. Doss
GRANT - Katherine Norris Doss, 76, of 134 Route 4, Grant, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home with Oneal Walls officiating.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Roger G. Walls of Woodville; three sisters, Gladys Kennamer of Guntersville, Jean Lawson of Scottsboro and Grace Pope of Georgia; and one brother, Ben Norris of Waco, Texas.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Effie Goff
JACKSON, Tenn. - Effie Goff, 88, died Tuesday at a a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church in Hollywood with Rev. Howard McCallie.
Burial was to be in Price Cemetery in Hollywood.
Survivors include one daughter, Jo Ann Rhudy of Ellijay, Ga.; three sons, Bill Goff of Belmont, Miss., and James Goff and George Goff, both of Pisgah; one sister, Rena Goff of Stevenson; two brothers, Coaster McIntire of Stevenson and Leonard McIntire of Rosville, Ga.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lila M. Pace
Lila Mitchell Pace, 92, of 2805 Brett Road in Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Earla S. Lockheart officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace.
After Mrs. Pace retired from a public school system in Georgia after 36 years there.
Survivors include one daughter, Myrtice Moses Ackey of Atlanta; two brothers, Julian H. Mitchell of Huntsville and Jack Alexander Mitchell of Montgomery; and four grandchildren.

Earleen H. Varady
MADISON - Earleen H. Varady, 69, died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Varady was a Limestone County native, but had lived in Madison County one and a half years.
Survivors include two sons, E. Wayne Siniard of Harvest and Larry E. Siniard of Taylor, Mich.; one daughter, Rhonda Kay Derry of Brownstown Township, Mich.; one brother, William H. Holley of Madison Heights, Mich.; two sisters, Sarah M. Black of Southgate, Mich., and Lucille Cruse of Sterling Heights, Mich.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ernest E. Wysong
MARY ESTHER, Fla. - Ernest E. "Ed" Wysong, 77, formerly of Huntsville, died Tuesday at his home. A private service will be held at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola.
McLaughlin-Aultman Funeral Home of Crestview, Fla., will be in charge of cremation.
Mr. Wysong lived in Huntsville in 1972 and worked as a training specialist for the U.S. Army Missile Command.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice Wysong of Mary Esther; one sister, Thelma Hicks of Andalusia; one brother, Richard Wysong of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the Empty Stocking Fund, Leukemia Society, Hospice Family Care or to a favorite charity.
