Mazine H. Brackett
ATTALLA - Mazine Hallmark Brackett, 82, of 3400 Highway 11 South died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be in Whitesboro Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, M.L. Brackett of Gadsden; five sisters, Clara Burford of Birmingham and Jean Godfrey, Carolyn Shields, Dorothy Whitt and Imogene Patton, all of Boaz; three brothers, Brown Hallmark, Warren Hallmark and Henry B. Hallmark, all of Boaz; and three grandchildren.

Erma M. Clement
Erma M. Clement, 78, of Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Owens Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Robert J. Brown Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Clement of Huntsville; one daughter, Etta Moore of Huntsville; one son, Horace Moore of Huntsville; one sister, Barbara Elliott of Decatur; one brother, Donald Morrow of Decatur; two stepsisters, Blanchie M. Pickett of Decatur and Bessie Washington of Harvest; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

James B. Coggin
BIRMINGHAM - James Byron Coggin, 36, of 3113 Tina Ave. died Monday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Dwayne McDuff officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Brandy Coggin of Birmingham; three daughters, Jennifer Coggin and Ashley Nicole Coggin, both of Moutlon and Kelsey Coggin of Birmingham; one stepdaughter, Jessica Wiley of Birmingham; his mother, Ruby Lovelace of Athens; his stepfather, Doyle Lovelace of Athens; his father, James F. Coggin of Athens; one stepsister, Kim Lovelace of Florence; one brother, Lindsay Coggin of Athens; and two nieces.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Houston Cowan
DECATUR - Houston Cowan, 87, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. David McKelvey and the Rev. Dan Morton officiating.
Burial was in Decatur City Cemetery.
Mr. Cowan was a graduate of Auburn University, was retired from the Auburn University Extension Service and was a deacon at Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Alice N. Cowan; one daughter, Rosemary Byrd of Mobile; one son, Ronald Houston Cowan of Decatur; three sisters, Freda Morton of Price ville, Doris Foster and Mae Lynn Henderson, both of Decatur; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Tyrus M. Dorman Sr.
GUNTERSVILLE - Tyrus Matlend Dorman Sr., 74, died Monday at a Marshall County hospital. Carr Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Dorman of Guntersville; one son, Tyrus Dorman Jr. of Guntersville; two daughters, Lisa Britton of Auburn and Deborah Hinton of Guntersville; two brothers, R.H. Dorman of California and Buren Dorman of Birmingham; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Jeffie Edwards
GURLEY - Jeffie Edwards, 85, died Monday a local hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Mayo officiating.
Burial will be in Cameron Cemetery.
Mr. Edwards was a native of Madison County, retired from the Madison County Commission and a member of Shipps Mission Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Louise Holder of New Market; one brother, Robert Edwards of New Market; and 33 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Eleanor Fletcher
Eleanor Fletcher, 52, of Huntsville died Friday at a Jasper, Tenn., hospital. The funeral was to be today at noon at Northwest Church of Christ with Bro. John Branch officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one brother, Lewis Fletcher of Huntsville; and three sisters, Helen Steger and Dorothy Hyter, both of Huntsville, and Marjorie Shields of Indianapolis.
Her body was to be at the church one hour before the funeral.

M.J. Frost
PISGAH - M.J. Frost, 72, died Sunday at his home. A graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at Green Haven Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Matt Kilgore officiating.
Mr. Frost was a retired employee of Luckys Supermarket for 40 years and a member of the Pisgah Masonic Progress Lodge No. 870.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Hancock Frost; two sisters, Lenell Hutcherson of Pisgah and Annis Graham of Sylvania; and four brothers, Waco Frost, Kyle Frost and Mack Frost, all of Pisgah, and Diaz Frost of Henagar.

Gene Gillispie
POWELL - Gene Gillispie, 66, died, Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at noon at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Briggs King officiating.
Burial will be in Town Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include his two daughters, Penny Ingram of Nashville and Lisa Gillispie; two sons, Kenneth Gillispie of Nashville and George Gillispie of Chattanooga; four sisters, Inez Goode and Rachel Brown, both of Powell, Artell of Stephens of Arkansas and Pearlene Gillispie of Georgia; and two grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William D. Hicks
ANDERSON - William David Hicks, infant son of William Bennie and Teresa Ann Hicks, died Sunday at an Athens hospital. Funeral arrangements will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home of Athens.

Suzanne Ivy
Suzanne Ivy, 59, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Rabbi Steven Jacobs officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Ivy was a Spanish teacher at Grissom High School for 23 years.
Survivors include her husband, Vernon Ivy of Huntsville; her mother, Mary Basescu of Sunrise, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Deborah Lauer of York, Pa., and Angela Krueger of New Orleans; one stepson, Randy Shaffer of Colorado; one brother, Herbert Basescu of San Jose, Calif.; and six step-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Temple BNai Shalom, 103 Lincoln St. Southeast, Huntsville, 35801, to Huntsville Conservative Synagogue, 7705 Bailey Cove Road, Huntsville, 35802, or to a favorite charity.

Clara M. Philpot
ATHENS - Clara Maebell Philpot, 77, of 17145 New Cut Road died Monday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Randall Hammock officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
Mrs. Philpot was a member of ONeal Church of Christ and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include one daughter, Robbie McGraw of Athens; one brother, Marvin Webster of Madison; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Beulah M. Poole
Beulah Mae Poole, 81, of Huntsville died Sunday at a Fayetteville, Tenn., hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Otis Graves officiating.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery.
Mrs. Poole was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include one daughter, Joyce Kilpatrick of Clarksville, Tenn.; one son, Donald Ray Edwards of Florida; six stepdaughters, Louise Head of Melbourn, Fla., Bernice Senechel of Warren, Mich., Barbara Kirk and Gloria Andelin, both of Antioch, Calif., and Wilma Hunt and Patsy Burrough, both of Huntsville; one stepson, James Poole of Huntsville; and two grandchildren, 25 step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ann Pridmore
Ann Harris Strong Pridmore, 87, of Huntsville died Monday at a local nursing home. The graveside service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Coy Hallmark officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Pridmore was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., and had lived in Madison County 50 years. She was also a member at a Park City, Tenn., Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Pridmore; and two sons, Charlie Joe Strong and Raymond H. Strong.
Survivors include four sons, James S. Strong and Thomas W. Pridmore, both of Huntsville, Roger D. Pridmore of Harvest and David B. Pridmore of Fayetteville, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Association or American Heart Association.

James F. Smith Jr.
NASHVILLE - James Franklin Smith Jr., 52, of 435 Heney Drive died Monday at a Nashville hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Reed officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Higgins Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Smith was a native of Davidson County, Tenn., a Navy veteran and a Catholic.
Survivors include his mother, Ruby Elise Hopkins Smith of Nashville; two daughters, Patricia Bartlett of Hermitage, Tenn., and Caroline Smith of Nashville; two sons, Eric Smith and Brian Smith, both of Nashville; and one grandson.
Visitation will be today at 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby D. Workman
RICHMOND, Va. - Ruby D. Workman, 77, formerly of Birmingham died Sunday. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial East Cemetery in Birmingham with the Rev. Richard Hitchcock officiating.
Roebuck East Chapel funeral home will be in charge of burial.
Survivors include two sons, William Workman Jr. of Richmond, Va., and Gary Workman of Madison; her father, I.M. Daniel of Birmingham; two brothers, Ted Daniels of Trussville and Larry Daniels of Birmingham; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Claude D. Kelley
MOBILE - Claude D. Kelley, a five-time state conservation commissioner, was remembered as an advocate for good management of natural resources.
Kelley was 91 when he died Saturday. A funeral service was set for Tuesday.
In addition to his time with the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, the Spanish Fort resident was president of the National Wildlife Federation for 11 years beginning in 1950.
"He was a believer that you could use the resources wisely," said Jay Gunn of the state Marine Resources Division. "He was a conservationist not so much as (he was) a preservationist."
Kelley was involved in the $100 million expansion of the Alabamas public parks system during the administration of then-Gov. Lurleen B. Wallace in the 1960s.
Services will be held Tuesday in Atmore, Kelleys hometown. Survivors include three nieces and a nephew.
