FLAT ROCK - Leon Austin, 85, died Thursday at a Chattanooga hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Revs. Eddie Cantrell and James Kilgore officiating.
Burial will be in Flat Rock Cemetery in Henagar.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Brown Austin; one daughter, Glenda Harris of Trenton, Ga.; one son, Julian Austin of Dade City, Fla.; two sisters, Sue Norwood of Scottsboro and Annie Ruth Reed of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and one brother, Joe Austin of Willingsboro, N.J.
Visitation is today from 4:30 to 9 p.m.

Lucy Colbert
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Lucy Colbert, 66, of Stewart Chapel Road died Wednesday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home with the Rev. Carlos Beddingfield officiating.
Burial was to be in Riverview Memorial Gardens with Gallant Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Colbert was a native of Lincoln County and was preceded in death by her husband, Carp "Doc" Colbert.
Survivors include two sons, Gene Colbert of Flintville and David Colbert of Ohio; one daughter, Brenda Headley of Ohio; three brothers, Ruben Mearse of Fayetteville, Tenn., Billy Mearse of Hamilton, Ind., and Walter Mearse of Lincolnton, N.C.; three sisters, Maudie Taylor of Flintville and Corrine Mearse and Mary Beth Mearse, both of Tullahoma, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Julia C. Collins
ATHENS - Julia Catherine Collins, 90, of 611 West Market St. died Thursday at an Athens nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Elsie M. Crabtree
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Elsie M. Crabtree, 60, died Thursday at an Ardmore, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Reed officiating.
Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery.
She was a member of Wesleyan Missionary Church of God in Chicago.
Survivors include one son, Steven Crabtree of Ardmore, Tenn.; one brother, Frank Rozell of Chicago; three sisters, Estell Dawson of Ardmore, Tenn., Mary Carter of Toney and Mattie Massey of Mississippi; and four half-sisters, Janice Vickers, Gail Puckett, Susan Hobbs and Lynn Turner.

Robert O. Fowler
DOUGLAS - Robert O. Fowler, 50, died Wednesday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Highmond Missionary Baptist Church in Blount County.
Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Fowler was a member of Highmond Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Douglas High School and attended Snead State Community and Northeast Community colleges.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Miller Fowler; one son, Scott Fowler of Albertville; two daughters, Shelley F. Smith of Boaz and Susan Fowler of Douglas; his mother, Geneva Fowler of Scottsboro; and one sister, Pat Roberts of Clanton.

Loyd H. Franklin
Loyd Hatchett Franklin, 84, of Huntsville died Thursday. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Guy Patterson officiating.
Burial will be in Madison Cross Roads Cemetery.
Mr. Franklin was a native of Madison County, and was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Madison Cross Roads Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon and song leader. He was also an American Red Cross volunteer at Huntsville Hospital for 17 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Roller of Huntsville; one grandson, Thomas F. Coates of Weston, Fla.; and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Amyrillis W. Goude
MONTGOMERY - Amyrillis Walker Goude, 77, died Wednesday at a Troy hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Green wood Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Danny Shaddix officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Sally G. Mitchem of Huntsville; three sons, Guy W. Holmes of Laurel, Miss., Ty Caudill of Altaloma, Calif., and Loren Goude Jr. of Cecil; one sister, Verbie W. Wynn of Montgomery; and nine grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimers Day Care Center in Huntsville.

Edith C. Hardin
WOODVILLE - Edith Cornelison Hardin, 62, died Thursday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. J.D. Golden officiating.
Burial was in Gold Cemetery at Skyline.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol Lands of Birmingham; one sister, Fannie Mae Sharp of Scottsboro; two brothers, Aubrey Cornelison and Isaac Cornelison, both of Scottsboro; and one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.

John W. Johnson
STEVENSON - John Wallace Johnson, 50, died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Revs. David Smith and Buster McCulley officiating.
Burial was to be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by one son, Kevin Dale Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Johnson; one daughter, Deanna Lee Johnson of Fackler; two sons, Johnny Johnson of Hollywood and Derek Johnson of Stevenson; one stepdaughter, Shannon Renee Miller of Winchester, Tenn.; his parents, William and Pearl Johnson of Fackler; four sisters, Diane Johnson and Judy Phillips, both of Scottsboro, and Edna Eakins and Joyce Hambrick, both of Fackler; three brothers, Bobby Johnson of Skyline and Leslie Johnson and Loyd Johnson, both of Hollywood; a granddaughter and three step-grandchildren.

Irene Klutts
Irene Klutts, 80, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Klutts was formerly of Jonesboro, Ark., and a longtime member of Memorial Southern Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lesley ONeal of Huntsville; three daughters, Lois Carson of Atlanta, Ga., and Joyce Klutts and Pat McCay, both of Huntsville; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edna P. Manning
NEW HOPE - Edna Pauline Manning of 420 Nebo Road died Thursday in Orlando, Fla. The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Paint Rock Cemetery.
Survivors include six daughters, Loretta Bullard of Florida, Debra Garrett of Laceys Spring, Paulette Goodman of Harvest, Doris Johnson of Scottsboro, Edna Lee of Owens Cross Roads and Betty Woody of New Hope; four sons, Donald Manning and Howard Manning, both of New Hope, and Jack Manning and Larry Manning, both of Georgia; three sisters, Vivian Artis of Mobile, Nell Wallace of Georgia and Marie Wilkerson of Scottsboro; and 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Bertha M. McCaulley
MADISON - Bertha M. McCaulley, 52, of 1263 Brownsferry Road died Tuesday. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Syler Tabernacle P.B. Church with the Rev. Annanias Green officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny McCaulley of Tanner; one daughter, Earlene Nash of Huntsville; two stepdaughters, Sharon Clemons of Madison and Twanda Williams of Augusta, Ga.; three sons, Robert Burks of Huntsville and David L. McCaulley and Johnny McCaulley Jr., both of Madison; her father, Osby Burks of Chattanooga, Tenn.; six sisters, Ernestine Burks, Quentrenish Burks, Natasha Burks, Nikki Burks, Mary Burks and Sharon Burks, all of Chattanooga; 12 brothers, Justin Jr. McClain and Melvin Burks, both of Madison, Osby Burks Jr., George Burks, John Burks, Donnie Burks, Lee Burks, James Burks, Nathaniel Slater Jr., Richard Burks and Steve Burks, all of Chattanooga, and Christopher Burks of Park City, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.

Dorothy D. Mitchell
DELLROSE, Tenn. - Dorothy Dean Mitchell, 56, of 1415 Old Elkton Pike died Wednesday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Ed Burrow officiating.
Miss Mitchell was a native of Lincoln County and a member of McBurg First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Lillie Bell King Mitchell of Dellrose; one sister, Mamie Mitchell of Dellrose; and two brothers, Jack Mitchell of Dellrose and Floyd Mitchell of Pine Village, Ind.
Visitation is today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rose C. Myrick
Rose Catherine Myrick, 39, of Huntsville died Thursday at her home. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
She was a native of New York City and had lived in Madison County since 1963.
Survivors include one son, David Lee Wolde of Huntsville; one daughter, Angela Rose Growhusky of Huntsville; her mother, Kathleen J. Myrick of Huntsville, three brothers, Joseph Myrick, John Myrick and Christopher Myrick, all of Huntsville; three sisters, Berverly Beach, Donna Myrick and Lisa Myrick, all of Huntsville; and one grandson.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care.

Ruth Olive
LEXINGTON, Texas - Ruth Olive, 96, died Saturday. The funeral was Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Lexington.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia Palmer Cottrell of Huntsville, Ala.; one son, Bill Olive of Lexington; one brother, James Maggard of Sour Lake; two sisters, Clara Maggard of Houston and Leila Knox of Bellflower, Calif.; and five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and several nieces.

Herman C. Parton
GRANT - Herman C. Parton, 65, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Panguin Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Maples of Grant; one daughter, Cynthia Gail Deuel of Huntsville; and three sons, Anthony Parton of New Hope and Joey Parton and Ricky Parton, both of Huntsville.

Sarah C. Rice
Sarah Chunn Rice, 83, of 1408-A Artic St. died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Progrssive Union M.B. Church with the Rev. Wayne Snodgrass officiating.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Rice was a member of the Progressive Union M.B. Church where she sang in the choir.
Survivors include two daughters, Gladys Bryant and Bessie L. Rice, both of Huntsville; three sisters, Frances Pride, Lettie Clark and Willie Ellison, all of Huntsville; three brothers, Clifford Chunn and Ernest Chunn, both of Huntsville, and James Chunn of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Stephanie N. Scott
Stepahanie Nicola Scott, 13, of 1500 Sparkman Drive, Apt. 43-F, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at noon at Mount Calvary Seventh-day Adventist Church with Elder Keith Burton officiating.
Burial will be in Ewerton Cemetery in Ewerton, West Indies, with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Scott was a student at Chapman Middle School.
Survivors include her parents, Datris Wray and Leon Scott, both of Huntsville; four sisters, Jessica Scott of Huntsville and Tamane Scott, Tassan Scott and Casey Scott, all of Jamaica; two brothers, Leon Scott III of Huntsville and Leon Scott II of Jamaica; and grandmother, Una Francis of Huntsville.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Walter T. Strong
PORTCHESTER, N.Y. - Walter Thomas Strong, 68, died Sunday in Portchester. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. James P.B. Church with the Rev. Billy Jones officiating.
Burial will be in Pennys Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Strong of Portchester; two daughters, Dorothy Black and Betty Strong, both of Huntsville; one sister, Margaret Strong of Huntsville; and four grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mary Thomas
PARIS, Ky. - Mary Ellen Burrell Thomas, 88, died Wednesday in Huntsville. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Paris with the Rev. E.M. Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Heights Cemetery in Paris with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include one son, Langston H. Thomas of Huntsville, Ala.; one sister, Virginia Lang of Santa Monica, Calif.; and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the church.

Mildred Thomas
HARTSELLE - Mildred Marie Kelley Thomas, 82, of 1000 Mitwede St. died Wednesday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Cornith Methodist Church with the Revs. Bill Monk and Mack Carter officiating.
Burial was in Corinth Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Thomas was a member of Corinth Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Amos Thomas.
Survivors include one daughter, Betty S. Blackwood of Hartselle; three sons, Andrew G. Thomas of Vinemont, Jerrol A. Thomas of Falkville and Donnie R. Thomas of Danville; and 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Sallie K. White
ATHENS - Sallie Keeton White, 84, of Blackburn Road died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home in Athens with Dickie White and Wilson White officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mrs. White was a native of Madison County, a member of New Hope Church of Christ and a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Marcella Thornton and Ruth Copeland, both of Athens; one son, Milton White of Athens; one sister, Lorene Laxson of Athens; one brother, Robert Lee Keeton of Harvest; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

William G. Yack III
William George Yack III, 48, of Huntsville died Tuesday in Arlington, Texas. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Yack was a native of Washington D.C. and had lived in Madison County seven years. He was a member of Solar Masonic Lodge and Cahaba Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine Yack of Huntsville; three sons, William George Yack IV, James Yack and Thomas Yack, all of Huntsville; and three sisters, Alida Crowley of Hancock, N.Y., Alana Renz of Sebastian, Fla., and Cheryl Keelev of Palm Bay, Fla.
