James P. Aday
James Price Aday, 72, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home south chapel with the Rev. Jim Daughty officiating.
Burial will be in Twickenham Memory Gardens.
Mr. Aday had lived in Huntsville his entire life. He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Aday.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Lee Aday of Huntsville; one stepson, Jeff McDonald of Somerville; two daughters, Sheila Thompson of Grant and Martha Harris of Hazel Green ; two stepdaughters, Wanda Lemley of New Hope and Ann Burrow of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and five step-grandchildren.

John R. Bailey
ATHENS - John Ross "Tootie" Bailey, 78, of 23045 Tooties Trail died Tuesday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Carl Witty and Lowell Blankenship officiating.
Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Bailey was a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ and a carpenter.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bailey of Athens; one daughter, Linda Hester of Decatur; three sons, Kenneth Bailey and Jimmy Bailey, both of Athens, and Rickey Bailey of Elkmont; one sister, Hattie Limbaugh of Athens; three brothers, Tom Bailey, Ed Bailey and Mutt Bailey, all of Athens; and 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Georgia G. Brown
Georgia Gladys Brown, 78, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Crittendon Memorial Park in Marion, Ark.
Roller Citizens Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one son, James H. Brown of Huntsville; one sister, Maxine Duncan of Adamsville, Tenn.; and five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice.

James B. Campbell
MAYSVILLE - James Benny Campbell, 60, died Monday at a Jackson County hospital. The funeral is today at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Paint Rock Cemetery.
Mr. Campbell was a native of Madison County and worked for Neely Coble Co. of Decatur.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Jane Campbell of Maysville; one daughter, Regina Worthey of Woodville; one son, Russell Campbell of Paint Rock; one stepdaughter, Kathy Ezell of New Hope; three stepsons, Frank Gullion, Mark Gullion and Monty Gullion, all of New Hope; one brother, Gene Campbell of Huntsville; one half-sister, Nancy Campbell of Gurley; and two grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

Amos R. Chambers
JOPPA - Amos Roy Chambers, 80, died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab with the Rev. Morris Nunnelley officiating.
Burial will be in the Welcome Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, James Chambers of Joppa and Coy Chambers of Arab; two daughters, Sue Wright of Arab and Larue Ellis of Joppa; one brother, Larry Paul Chambers of Woodville; one sister, Trixie Nunnelley of Joppa; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Vivian P. Collins
POWELL - Mrs. Vivian Pruett Collins, 80, died Monday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Sand Mountain Funeral Home in Rainsville with the Rev. Briggs King officiating.
Burial will be in Roberson Chapel Cemetery in Rainsville.
Mrs. Collins was a school teacher and an accountant. She was an avid gardener and traveled extensively around the world.
Survivors include her husband, Dale Collins; one daughter, Rosemary Bensko of Roena, Colo.; one sister, Margaret Pruess of Knoxville, Tenn.; one brother, Woodrow Pruett of Rainsville; and one grandson.
Visitation is today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John G. Dale Sr.
John Grady Dale Sr., 76, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Dale was a native of Gadsden and was an Army World War II and Korean War veteran with 24 years of service. He was former police chief in Gurley and Rainbow City. He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Michael Dale.
Survivors include his wife, Jeannette W. Dale of Huntsville; three sons, John Grady Dale Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga., Bill Dale of North East, Md., and Douglas Dale of Columbia, S.C.; one daughter, Margie Dale of Huntsville; one sister, Minnie Lou Pope of Guntersville; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to American Lung Association.

Dorothy Davis
PETERSBURG, Tenn. - Dorothy Louise Fitzgerald Davis, 63, of 3382 Joplin Road died Monday at a Lewisburg, Tenn., hospital. The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at McCauley Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Davis officiating.
Mrs. Davis was a native of Marshall County, Tenn., a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Charles R. Davis of Petersburg; and one sister, Lucille Farler of Marshall County.

Joe J. Howard
NEW MARKET - Joe Jac Howard, 43, died Sunday at a local hospital. A memorial service was to be today at 2 p.m. at New Market United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Nunez officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Howard was a lifelong resident of Madison County.
Survivors include his wife, Debra M. Moriarty of New Market; one daughter, Kate Jo Howard of New Market; his mother, Dorothy C. Howard of New Market; one brother, Stan Howard of New Market; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to New Market United Methodist Church.

Viola Jackson
WOODVILLE - Viola Jackson, 89, of 1401 Kennamer Cove Road died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel.
Burial will be in Free Home Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth McWain of Madison, Ruby Hutchens of Woodville and Mary Jane Willis of Grant; one son, Herman Jackson of Woodville; one brother, Alonza Sims of Woodville; and 32 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.

John R. Johnston
John Richard Johnston, 47, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Patrick Quirk Jr.
Patrick Quirk Jr., 51, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. A funeral is not planned.
Mr. Quirk was a Native American.
Survivors include one son, Tim Quirk of Huntsville; and his mother, Viola Quirk of New Mexico.

Jean A. Sharpe
Jean Arlene Sharpe, 64, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Robert A. White Jr. and the Rev. Sonny Kirk officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Sharpe was retired from Genesco and was a member of Jackson Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy R. Sharpe of Huntsville; one daughter, Darlene Avery of Toney; two sons, Jimmy R. Sharpe Jr. and Tracey Sharpe, both of Huntsville; three sisters, Pauline Cagle, Vergie Smithey and Eva Simmons, all of Huntsville; one brother, Jack Dean of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.
Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alton E. Smith
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Alton Edward Smith, 78, of 209 Stonebridge Drive died Monday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Danny Bell officiating.
Burial will be in Stewarts Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was a native of Madison County, a World War II veteran and a retired Ford salesman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Bell Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Farmer of Fayetteville; two sons, Jerry Smith and Gary Smith, both of Fayetteville; three brothers, Paul Smith of Huntsville, James "Kirk" Smith of Kelso, Tenn., and Alvin McWhirter; his mother, Mamie Irene Shelton Smith of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Fred F. Thompson
MADISON - Fred F. Thompson, 71, of 347 Capshaw Road died Monday at his home. Madison Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Thompson of Madison; one son, Dale Thompson of Huntsville; three stepdaughters, Ann Sanderson of Huntsville, Janice Morgan of Pinehill and Betty Helton of Grand Bay; two sisters, Velma Morgan and Clara Lee Smith, both of Mobile; and one brother, Sam M. Thompson of Mobile.

Vernon Thrasher
BOAZ - Vernon Thrasher, 80, of 530 Church St. died Tuesday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be in Thrasher Cemetery.
Mr. Thrasher was a 37-year Goodyear employee. He was a member and head deacon at Mountainboro Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Bobby Thrasher and Jimmy Thrasher.
Survivors include his wife, Alice Nelson Thrasher; five sons, Gene Thrasher of Boaz, Dale Thrasher of Arkansas, Larry Thrasher, Steve Thrasher and Danny Thrasher, all of Boaz; three sisters, Lorene Carroll and Eloise ONeal, both of Attalla, and Stella Sears of Colorado; and 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Jesse E. Whitt
TWENTY PALMS, Calif. - Jesse Edward Whitt, 73, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Whitt was a native of Huntsville and had lived in California 41 years and Twenty Palms eight years. He was retired after 32 years with Sears and Roebuck Co.
Survivors include his wife, Iris Whitt of Twenty Palms; three daughters, Martha Mandrell and Mary Fetters, both of Fontana, Calif., and Charlotte Ruddick of Missouri; two sons, Larry E. Whitt and Ricky L. Whitt, both of Twenty Palms; one sister, Annie Mae Bridges of Huntsville; one brother, Charlie Whitt of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.
