Ozell Austin
ATHENS - Ozell Austin, 86, of North Jefferson Street, died Friday at Athens-Limestone Hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First United Pentecostal Church with R.C. Craft and Dewey Craft officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.
She was a native of Limestone County, a member of First United Pentecostal Church and was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Austin.
Survivors include one son, Herschel Austin of Athens; one brother, Pete Hasting of Athens; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Building Fund, First United Pentecostal Church.

Steven M. Bartlett
TAFT, Tenn. - Steven Murray Bartlett, 38, of 64 Red Hill Road died Thursday at a Lincoln County Hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Fayetteville A.R.P. Church with the Rev. Kenneth McNatt and Dr. Calvin Todd officiating.
Burial will be in Prosperity Cemetery with Higgins Funeral Home of Fayetteville in charge.
Mr. Bartlett was a native of Lincoln County. He worked at Copperweld as a shipping and receiving clerk and he served as deacon at the Fayetteville A.R.P. Church. He served on the C.L.E.A.N. Board of Directors and was a member of Young Farmers and Homemakers. He also served in the Tullahoma National Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Templeton Bartlett of Taft; a daughter, Shannan May Bartlett of Taft; a son, Steven Chanse Bartlett of Taft; his mother, Edwina Nichols Dollar of Flintville; his father, Bobby Joe Bartlett of Fayetteville; a brother, Dale Bartlett of Petersburg; a grandmother, Glendon Bartlett of Petersburg; four step-brothers, Richard Case and Mark Case, both of Fayetteville, Chris Case of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Jackie Dollar of Flintville.
Visitation will be today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Fayetteville A.R.P Church Building fund.

Frankie W. Doolittle
Frankie W. Doolittle of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church.
A private graveside service for the family is planned at Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Doolittle was a native of Wilkinson County, Ga., and had been a Huntsville resident since 1964. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and former deputy corporate information officer at the Army Aviation and Missile Command.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Doolittle; two daughters, Karen Doolittle of New York City and Tracy Doolittle of Nashville; and one sister, Deloris Redding of Bluffton, Ga.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Laughlin.
Memorial donations may be made to the Huntsville Humane Society.

William C. Gaskin
BOAZ - Rev. William Carl Gaskin, 81, of 1107 County Road 380, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Belchers Chapel First Congregational Methodist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Dee Gaskin; four daughters, Flo Greer, Mary Amos and Chris Perry, all of Boaz, and Elaine Tucker of Oneonta; two sisters, Nancy Roden and Mary Odell, both of Boaz; one brother, Doc Gaskin of Boaz; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Gene M. Gordon
BOAZ - Gene Marquiss Gordon, 77, of 2055 Alabama 168, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Albertville Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Mr. Gordon was a retired U.S. Air Force major.
Survivors include his wife, Margie B. Gordon; three daughters, Pamela Filkins and Debra Sims, both of Douglas, and Marsha Maher of Birmingham; one son, Gene ''Mark Gordon II of Birmingham; three sisters, Laverne Cox and Lois Saltgaver, both of California, and Peggy Park of Arkansas; one brother, Carl Gordon of California; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Velma S. Grace
ARAB - Velma S. Grace, 78, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

Luther Jordan
Luther Jordan, 84, of 261 Seminole Drive died Thursday in Manchester, Tenn. The graveside service will be Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at No. 4 Hall Cemetery on Stringfield Road with the Rev. James Lane officiating.
Royal Funeral Home will be in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Nannie Joiner of Detroit, Lula Murritt of Decatur and Gloria Jordan of Nashville; one son, Bobby Brown, and one sister, Cora J. Tibbs, both of Huntsville; and 11 grandchildren.

Mary Lou Latimer
DECATUR - Mary Lou Latimer, 93, of 2806 Sandlin Road, S.W., died Thursday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Sheffield with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle directing.
Survivors include a great-niece, Leslie Long of Columbus, Ga., and two great-nephews, David Thompson of Decatur and Ken Thompson of Hoover.

Loyd C. McCartt
Loyd Cecil McCartt, 73, of Huntsville died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Chapel with Pastor Mayburn Crews officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. McCartt was a native of Rea County, Tenn., and had lived in Huntsville since 1941. He was a retired Huntsville Utilities employee, a World War II veteran and a member of Westlawn Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Reba McCartt of Huntsville; two sons, Alvin McCartt of Hazel Green and Ronnie McCartt of Huntsville; a brother, Jackie McCartt of Belton, S.C.; three sisters, Lorraine Vickery, Juanita Massey and Eva Mae Warren, all of Atlanta.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorothy Mellette
Dorothy Hodges Mellette, 89, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Robert Nance officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Mellette was retired from the Madison County Board of Education after 41 years. She had been a principal at Central School, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of the Gurley Study Club and the Homemakers Club. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and a lifelong resident of Madison County.
Survivors include one son, Joe W. Mellette Sr. of Huntsville; two sisters, Betty Jo Johnson of Huntsville and Jean Baldwin of Knoxville; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Laughlin.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Central School Library, 990 Ryland Pike, Huntsville 35811.

Joe Mosley Sr.
DECATUR - Joe R. Mosley Sr. died Tuesday at a nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Hillsboro with the Rev. B.L. Burgess officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Mosley was born July 31, 1924, in Lawrence County. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and of Master Masonic Lodge No. 774.
Survivors include four daughters, Susie Boukin of Garland, Texas, Jessie Allen of Decatur and Betty Williams and Annie Vernon, both of Montgomery; four sons, Lovell Mosley and Michael Mosley, both of Decatur, and Joe Mosley Jr. and Richard Mosley, both of Hillsboro; five brothers, Willie Mosley and Matt Mosley, both of Hillsboro, Woodie Mosley of Courtland, and Tom Woods and Elmer Mosley, both of Chattanooga; four sisters, Stella Mae Smith of North Courtland, Annie Louise Bolden of Hillsboro and Mattie Fuqua and Macy Garrett, both of Chattanooga; 20 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the church an hour before the service.

Daniel Mullin
Daniel Mullin of Huntsville died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be announced by Valhalla Funeral Home.

Mosouria Orr
Mosouria ''Ella Johnson Orr, 84, of Huntsville, died Monday, April 20, at St. Frances Hospital in Los Angeles. The funeral will be today at 1 p.m. at Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Lawrence County with the Rev. Michael Chatman officiating.
Burial will be in Campground Cemetery next to the church with Reynolds Funeral Home of Decatur directing.
Mrs. Orr was a homemaker and member of Red Bank Baptist Church in Lawrence County.
Survivors include seven daughters, Ann Lawton of Valinda, Calif., Linda Romine of Somerville, Katherine Occomy of Madison, Josephine Rogers and Kay Barnard, both of Huntsville, and Ruby Davis and Mary Carter, both of Los Angeles; four sons, Joe Louis Orr of Chicago, Willie J. Orr of Montgomery and Clifford Orr and Ronnie Orr, both of Huntsville; 40 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Claude H. Rudder
SCOTTSBORO - Claude H. Rudder, 77, died Wednesday in a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be today at 10 a.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Scottsboro with the Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Rocky Springs Cemetery in Bridgeport.
Mr. Rudder was a retired real estate broker, a former Shriner and a graduate of Florida Southern College. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served in the Pacific theater. He was preceded in death by one son, Capt. Rod L. Rudder.
Survivors include two sons, Mark L. Rudder of Apache Junction, Ariz., and Randal S. Rudder of Phoenix; and six grandchildren.

Huey L. Watson
Huey Lee Watson, 92, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at graveside.
Burial will be in Corinth Baptist Cemetery in Randolph County with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Watson taught school for 37 years in Randolph, Calhoun and Talladega counties. She was a 1924 graduate of Heflin High School and a graduate of Jacksonville State College. She was a member of Bynum Baptist Church. She lived in Bynum almost 50 years before she moved to Huntsville.
Survivors include a daughter, Jean Watson Bergeron of Huntsville; two grandchildren, Jeanne Taylor and Billy McCarty Jr.; and two great-grandchidren.
