Mrs. Judy Hamby Crick, 50, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Laughlin Service Chapel with Bro. Gary Ratliff officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Crick was a member of Emanuel Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Kelly Crick of Birmingham; her mother, Sue Hamby of Huntsville; one brother, Jim Hamby of Huntsville; her grandmother, Katie Hamby of Huntsville; and two nephews.
Visitation will be Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Arnold L. Gilbert
FYFFE - Arnold L. Gilbert, 90, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Rainsville Funeral Home with the Revs. Travis Warlick and Earnest Corbitt officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Memory Gardens.
Mr. Gilbert taught in the DeKalb County and the Sullivan County, Tenn., school systems for 45 years. He was a member of the Fyffe Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Ramsey Gilbert.

Opal C. Gilliland
GUNTERSVILLE - Opal Clifton Gilliland, 85, of 709 Ringold St., died Friday in a Gadsden hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial will be in Taylor Cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Gilliland, and two sons, Clyde Gilliland and Bobby Gilliland.
Survivors include nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Olan Clark Jones
DELORES, Colo. - Olan Clark Jones, 75, died Saturday at a local hospital.A memorial service will be Monday in Delores.
Mr. Jones was formerly of Huntsville, Ala.
Survivors include one son, Clayton Raymond Jones of Huntsville; one daughter, Marian Speer of Pensacola, Fla.; one brother, Bill Jones of Texas;and five grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Heart Association or to a charity of your choice.

Aldine H. Marques
HONOLULU, Hawaii - Mrs. Aldine Hilda Marques, 101, died Jan. 30. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Central Union Church chapel in Honolulu.
Mrs. Marques was the granddaughter of Augusta Dias, who introduced the ukulele to Hawaii. She was a lifelong resident of Honolulu and a retired school teacher.
Survivors include two daughters, Marjorie H. Davis of Madison, Ala. and Eloise M. Thornes of Honolulu; one sister, Elma T. Cabral of Honolulu; and five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Carolyn McPherson
Miss Carolyn McPherson, 59, died Thursday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at Spry Chapel with the Revs. Susie Knedlick and Mitchell Williams officiating.
Burial will be in Marks Cemetery in Marks, Miss., with Spry Funeral Home in charge. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m.
Miss McPherson was a native of Marks, but had lived in Huntsville since 1984.
Survivors include three sisters, Helen M. Boyd and Ann M. Parent, both of Huntsville, and Dorothy M. Watson of Destin, Fla.; and one brother, Deward Boyd of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Opportunity Center, 100 Washington St. or Hospice Family Cares.

Dollie M. Pitzer
Mrs. Dollie M. Pitzer, 46, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Laughlin Service Chapel with Rev. Sam Mayo officiating.
Burial will be in Charity Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Pitzer was a member of the Victory Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church.
Survivors include her husband, Rodger L. Pitzer Sr.; one son, Rodger L. Pitzer Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Alicea Fay Pitzer of Huntsville; her mother, Lottie Mae Daniel of Huntsville; four sisters, Marie Daniel and Gail Daniel, both of Huntsville, Shirley Fay Edwards of New Hope and Glenda Dale Franklin of New Market; and one brother, James Millard Daniel of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Almer H. Thomas
HARTSELLE - Almer H. "Uncle" Thomas, 89, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Shoals Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Dan Marton and Martin Depreast officiating.
Burial will be in Shoals Creek Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Thomas was a member of Shoals Creek Baptist Church since August 1933 and was a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Neomia W. Thomas, and one sister, Erma Thomas Boyd of Orveido, Fla.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Alfred E. Wyatt
Alfred Eldridge Wyatt, 67, of Huntsville died Jan. 31 at a local hospital. The funeral was Tuesday with Radney Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga in charge.
Burial was in Sylacauga with Radney Smith Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Wyatt was formerly employed by Dese Research Inc. and was president at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Wyatt; two sons, Mike Wyatt of Dallas, Texas and Scott Wyatt of Birmingham; two daughters, Suzanne Wallace and Deborah McClure, both of Huntsville; two brothers, David Wyatt of Sylacauga and Gus Wyatt of Chattanooga, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

HUNTLAND, Tenn. - Joe Alton Ashley, 72, of 2036 Elora Road died Thursday at his home. The funeral was Sunday at Mountain View Holiness Church.
Burial was in Underwood Cemetery in New Market with Huntland Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Reta Ashley of Huntland; two sons, Terry Ashley and Eric Ashley, both of New Market; two daughters, Drusella McManes of Huntsville, Pansey Land of Harvey, Ill., and Joanna Smith of Huntland; one brother, Stobie Ashley of Huntland; three sisters, Lodema Keith of Celina, Tenn., Carline Tampleton of Estill Springs, Tenn., and Owene Yarbrough of Belvidere, Tenn.; and nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

James R. Buchanan
ALBERTVILLE - James Roger Buchanan, 50, of 75 Clyde Circle died Saturday in Albertville. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Survivors include his wife, Cathy Buchanan; one daughter, Tonya K. Higdon of Snead; two sons, Scott Buchanan of Kansas and James R. Buchanan Jr. of Horton; one stepson, Lee Robertson of Horton; six sisters, Jettie Jolley, Sue Buchanan and Janice Thomas, all of Albertville, Diane Mitchell of Horton, Vickie Buchanan of Boaz and Linda Little of Blount County; and three brothers, Rabon Buchanan of Childersburg, Robert Buchanan of Albertville and David Buchanan of Florence.

Ida L. Carter
TONEY - Ida Lee Carter, 88, of Opp Reynolds Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home chapel in Hazel Green with the Rev. Frank Cantrell officiating.
Burial will be in Madison Cross Roads Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was a native of Tishomingo, Okla., a housewife and a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include one daughter, Arlene Carter Sharpe of Toney; one sister, Mabel Byrd of Toney; one stepsister, Virginia Forsyth of Seattle, Wash.; one brother, J.W. Tucker of Hazel Green ; one stepbrother, Wildon Neeley of Hazel Green ; and two grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

John E. Cross
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - John E. Cross, 73, died Thursday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Resthaven Funeral Home in Louisville.
Entombment will be in Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mr. Cross was a native of Huntsville, a retired electrical mechanic and a World War II Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha L. Cross of Louisville; three daughters, Patricia D. Davis, Veronica J. McGill and Dr. Beverly C. Bailey; two brothers, Alvie L. Cross and Clifton P. Cross, both of Huntsville; one sister, Dollie M. Collier of Huntsville; and eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Harold W. Green
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Harold Wayne Green, 56, of 168 Sneed Ave. died Friday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Milton Thompson and the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Brown Green of Owens Cross Roads; two sons, Dwight Green of Woodville and Jeffery Green of Hazel Green ; one daughter, Kathy Green of Huntsville; two stepsons, Dwight Gordon and James Buford Haywood, both of Huntsville; three stepdaughters, Rosa Chambers of Woodville, Theresa Haugwout of Huntsville and Regina Lewis of Owens Cross Roads; one brother, Paul Green of Athens; one sister, Betty Thompson of Athens; and eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild, six step-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

Grady Greer
ALBERTVILLE - Grady Greer, 79, of 1569 Kuykendall Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial will be in Beulah Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. Greer.
Survivors include one daughter, Janice Painter of Albertville; one sister, Hilda Lackey of Albertville; two brothers, Henry Greer and J.C. Greer, both of Albertville; and two grandchildren.

Edith M. Gwathney
GURLEY - Edith Mae Gwathney, 83, died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Meeks and the Rev. Austin Posey officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Gwathney was a native of Madison County and a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Edgar Gwathney.
Survivors include two daughters, Inez Clements of Scottsboro and Marjorie Owens of Gurley; two sons, John C. Gwathney of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Phillip Gwathney of Gurley; and eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church 30 minutes before the funeral.

Hazel P. Jones
Hazel Phelps Jones, 98, of Huntsville died Saturday at her home. The graveside service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Jones was a 1921 University of Alabama graduate and a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. She was an active member of Ducks Unlimited and, for 75 years, First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Walter B. Jones; and one son, Nelson B. Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Douglas E. Jones of Tuscaloosa and Warren P. Jones of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Huntsville Hospital Foundation or to First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Liona Langford
NEWNAM, GA. - The Rev. Liona Langford, 86, died Tuesday at a Decatur, Ga., hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Center Grove United Methodist Church in Huntsville with the Rev. Michael Freeman officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
The Rev. Mr. Langford was pastor at Center Grove United Methodist Church from 1947 to 1950.
Survivors include nine daughters, Pauline Robinson, Annie Griffin, Betty Grayson and Dorothy Bennett, all of Ypsilanti, Mich., Pearline Brogden of Chattanooga, Tenn., Elnora Battle of Newnam, Joyce Flerry and the Rev. Edna Bernard, both of Denver, Colo., and Catherine Wilson of Flint, Mich.; three sons, Kenneth Langford and Liona Langford Jr., both of Ypsilanti, and Robert Langford of Flint; and 38 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Sylvia Mangum
ARDMORE, Ala. - Sylvia Elizabeth Bumpus Mangum, 73, of Alabama 251 died Saturday at her home. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Sammy Brister officiating.
Burial will be in Germantown Cemetery in Thatch.
Survivors include her husband, Reynard Mangum of Ardmore, Ala.; one daughter, Nedra Gayle Dailey of Ardmore, Ala.; one brother, William F. Bumpus of Athens; and one sister, Helen Luna of Athens.

Ruby H. McWhorter
Ruby H. McWhorter, 89, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Blue Springs, Miss.
Mrs. McWhorter was a member of Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church, American Wildflower Association and Tennessee Ornithological Society. She was a longtime Memphis, Tenn., resident and retired from Western Union.
Survivors include two sons, James H. McWhorter of Huntsville and Jeffery T. McWhorter of Phoenix, Ariz.; and five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hillsboro Heights Baptist Church or to a favorite charity.

Carol-Ann M. Miller
MADISON - Carol-Anne Mary Miller, 54, died Friday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Miller was a native of Syracuse, N.Y., and had lived in Madison County 28 years.
Survivors include one son, Christopher Price Blevins of Montgomery; and her mother, Pauline Page of Syracuse.

Marvin T. Moss
MADISON - Marvin Travis Moss, 34, died Wednesday in Columbus, Ohio. The funeral was Sunday at Spry Funeral home in Athens with John Moss officiating.
Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Moss was a truck driver.
Survivors include his mother, Carolyn Ezekiel of Birmingham; his father and stepmother, David and Lois Moss of Huntsville; two sisters, Carol Hilburn of Birmingham and Joy Gingerich of Arab; five brothers, Ricky Moss of Winfield, Roger Moss of Birmingham, Barry Moss, Corey Moss and Justin Moss, all of Athens; one half-sister, Nancy Sisco of Birmingham; and one half-brother, Harold Moss of Pulaski, Tenn.

Sharron E. Smith
FLAT ROCK - Sharron Elizabeth Smith, 52, died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Junior Smith officiating.
Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Smith; two daughters, Toni Lyn Gibson of Dripping Springs, Texas, and Shandalyn Chevette McBryar of Stevenson; two sons, Tony J. Humberson and Darcy Dee Johnson, both of Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters, Carrie M. Georgio of Georgetown, Texas, and Christiana Mae Woster of Round Rock, Texas; two stepsons, Charles Smith Jr. and Craig Steven, both of Austin; and 17 grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

E.F. Storey
MERIDIANVILLE - E.F. "Bunt" Storey, 95, of 108 Antebellum Drive died Sunday. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester Stephens officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mr. Storey was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a retired carpenter with Builders Supply and a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice S. Freeman of Meridianville; one brother, Buddy Storey of Columbia, Tenn.; and two granddaughters.

Roger D. Taymon
Roger Dale Taymon, 43, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Frees officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Taymon was an Army National Guard veteran, worked for Engelhard Corp. and was a native of New Hope.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Taymon of Huntsville; his mother and stepfather, Eunice and Thurman Allison, both of Huntsville; four daughters, Trayci Logan, Melanie Kinley and Reanna Taymon, all of Huntsville, and Brandy Taymon of Frankfort, Ind.; two sons, Fred Mendoza Jr. of Huntsville and David Michael Taymon of Frankfort, N.J.; two sisters, Debbie Gauntt and Sandra Elaine Thougan, both of Huntsville; one brother, James Allen Taymon of Huntsville; grandmother, Bell Taymon of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 4:30 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miriam R. Wiser
ATHENS - Miriam Ruth Wiser, 37, of 16338 Evans Road died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Howard See officiating. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Twin Oaks Cemetery in Huntingdon, Tenn.
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include her husband, John Wiser of Athens; one daughter, Emily Wiser of Athens; her parents, Huston and Vivian Gateley of Huntingdon; and three brothers, Tim Gateley and Jonathan Gateley, both of Huntingdon, and Mark Gateley of Clinton, Tenn.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Martin Geisel
NASHVILLE - Martin Geisel, the dean of Vanderbilt Universitys Owen Graduate School of Management, is dead at age 57.
Geisel died Sunday, three days after suffering a heart attack.
He had headed the Owen school since 1987, longer than either of his two predecessors. Todays enrollment of 1,678 has tripled since the schools opening in 1968.
A native of Grand Rapids, Mich., Geisel was a graduate of Case Institute of Technology and earned his masters degree at night at the University of Chicago, where he later earned a doctorate in business economics.
He taught at Carnegie Melons Graduate School of Industrial Administration and later at the University of Rochester and the University of Texas-Dallas.
