Effie Brazell
MADISON - Effie Lee Turner Brazell, 69, died Thursday at her home. The funeral was Sunday at St. Elizabeth Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John T. Holden officiating.
Burial was in Royal Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Louise Rice and Cassandra Denise Peebles, both of Madison; one stepson, James Ross of Decatur; two sisters, Danella Edwards and Mary K. Turner, both of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Alphonza McCray of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren.

Mary R. Craig
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Mary Ruth Craig, 89, of 425 Honea Lane died Saturday in Avon Park, Fla. The funeral was Tuesday at New Hope Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating.
Burial was in Byrd Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Jo Bryant of Avon Park; two sons, Gerald Cobb of Orlando, Fla., and James Cobb of Huntsville; one sister, Bea Honea of Owens Cross Roads; two stepdaughters, Lillie Ruth Nickelson of Woodville and Myrtie Wooten of Tennessee; one stepson, Lendon Craig of Huntsville; and 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

James A. Green well
James A. Green well, 77, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. Twickenham Funeral Home South will announce funeral arrangements.

Margaret E. Holder
HARVEST - Margaret E. Holder, 86, died Monday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with Tommy Rosenblum officiating.
Burial was to be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Holder was a member of the Church of Christ and a licensed practical nurse.
Survivors include one son, James Holder of Harvest, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

H.L. Lingerfelt Sr.
RAINSVILLE - H.L. Lingerfelt Sr., 60, died Sunday at a Birmingham hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Revs. Nolan Ford and Briggs King officiating.
Burial was in Corinth Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lingerfelt; two daughters, Cindy Filosi of Cummings,Ga., and Stacy Garner of Rainsville of Rainsville; two sons, H.L. Lingerfelt Jr. and Tracy Lingerfelt, both of Rainsville; his mother, Vera Lingerfelt of Rainsville; two sisters, Lynda Netzband and Janis Ward, both of Rainsville; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Virginia Moon
Virginia Elizabeth Stephens Moon, 72, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Brookwood Cemetery.
Gober Funeral Home of Arab is in charge of burial.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Johnson of Guntersville; one son, Jerrelly W. Moon of Huntsville; four sisters, Lucille Childers of Huntsville and Irene Warren, Barbara Pool and Sharon Murphree, all of Arab; five brothers, Howard Stephens of Birmingham, James L. Stephens of Attalla and Bill Stephens, Jim Stephens and Donnie Stephens, all of Arab; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Arnold S. Pettus
Arnold Steve Pettus, 89, of Huntsville died Monday. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the O.K. Baptist Church in Lawrenceburg, Tenn.
Burial will be in the O.K. Cemetery with Pettus-Tumbo Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Pettus was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Treptau Pettus, and one son, Kenneth Pettus.
Survivors include one daughter, Anne Ondrak of Huntsville; three sisters, Mary Johnston of Lawrenceburg, Agnes Mabry of Mount Juliet, Tenn., and Ruby Mabry of Summertown, Tenn.; two brothers, Edward Pettus of Charleston, S.C., and Hassell "Jake" Pettus of Lawrenceburg; and nine grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mamie A. Stack
Mamie Ann Stack, 65, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. Valhalla Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Ms. Stack was a physical therapist who had retired from Crestwood Hospital.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Lamb of Madison and Leslie Louden of Parks City, Tenn.; one son, Steven Stack of Jackson, Miss.; and five grandchildren.

Robert E. Taylor Jr.
ATHENS - Robert E. Taylor Jr., 73, of 20402 Kimzy-Carr Road died Tuesday at an Athens hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Fort Hill Cemetery in Cleveland, Tenn., with Roger Jackson officiating.
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Taylor was a member of Northside Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Taylor of Athens; two sons, Tony Gooch of Athens and Tommy Gooch of Largo, Fla.; two sisters, Dorothy Wampler of Cleveland, Tenn., and Velma Jean Dugan of Lake Placid, Fla.; and six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Clayton S. Thompson
NEW HOPE - Clayton Shelby Thompson, 68, of 539 Albert Mann Road died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was Tuesday at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Martin officiating.
Burial was in Walker Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Pauline Morrison of Grant and Buna Mae Stapler of Huntsville; two brothers, Charles Thompson of Huntsville and Dave Thompson of Grant; seven stepdaughters, Debbie Broad of Toney, Sheila Browning and Kay Duncan, both of Laceys Spring, Joan Davis and Lucy Smith, both of Athens, Diane Gore of Union Grove, and Mary Martin of New Hope; one stepson, Dale Wisener of Athens; and 13 grandchildren.

Essie B. VanSandt
LACEYS SPRING - Essie B. VanSandt, 88, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home South chapel with Bro. Al Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
She retired from Martin Industries and was a longtime member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Survivors include one son, Virgil Braxton VanSandt; one sister, Lucille Raney of Clinton, Miss.; and two grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Bethlehem Baptist Church HOIC, P.O. Box 27, Laceys Spring, 35754.

Mary L. Wooten
SECTION - Mary L. Wooten, 84, died Sunday at her home. The funeral was Tuesday at Rainsville Funeral Home with the Rev. Philip Howell officiating.
Burial was in Town Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include one brother, Alvin Wooten of Section, and several nieces and nephews.
