Floy H. Brock
ATHENS - Floy H. Brock, 90, of 1600 West Hobbs St. died Saturday at an Athens hospital. The funeral was to be today 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Don Osborne officiating.
Burial will be Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Brock was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and was a teacher for 40 years in Limestone County and for 12 years at Athens Bible School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Brock.
Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie McLemore of Athens; one son, Macon Brock of Montgomery; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Thomas L. Coleman
ARAB - Thomas Loyd Coleman, 51, died Friday at a Seattle hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery with Gober Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Coleman was a former member of the Alabama House and Senate, representing Marshall County.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Coleman, and one daughter, Christy Coleman.
The body will be at the church at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Dwight Daniell Jr.
Dwight Daniell Jr., 67, of Huntsville died Sunday at his home. A graveside service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with Drs. William G. Cockrill and Mel A. Strain officiating.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mr. Daniell was an original member of the Von Braun Civic Center Advisory Board and Board of Control. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and former president of the Sertoma, Rotary and Twenty-five clubs.
Survivors include his wife, Mavis Fleeman Daniell of Huntsville; two sons, David Daniell of Daphne and Larry Daniell of Huntsville; one daughter, Dawn Tincher of Conyers, Ga.; two sisters, Maxine Ward of Atlanta and Marlene Neal of Augusta, Ga.; one brother, Alfred Daniell of Eastman, Ga.; and seven grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or to a favorite charity.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vera Ellenburg
GRIFFIN, GA. - Vera Ellenburg, 80, died Saturday in Georgia. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Reda Cothran of Georgia; five sisters, Bernice Scruggs of Arkansas, Avis Hughes and Jennie Eads, both of Huntsville, and Marie McWhirter and Ila May Buck, both of Birmingham; and three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Dustin C. Faulk
ATHENS - Dustin Clint Faulk, 13, of Upper Snake Road died Saturday at an Athens hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Randall Hammock officiating.
Burial was in Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville.
Survivors include his parents, Johnnie and Jan Faulk of Athens; one brother, Kurt Faulk of Athens; and four grandparents, Paul and Faye Barnett and Frank and Della Faulk, all of Athens.
Memorial donations may be made to March of Dimes or to the Shriners Hospital.

Minerva F. Gill
BRIDGEPORT - Minerva Frances Gill, 90, died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson with the Rev. Bradley Talley officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Bradley Talley of Bridgeport, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was to be today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gladys M. Gray
FYFFE - Gladys M. Gray, 86, died Saturday at her home. The funeral was to be today at 2:30 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral Home.
Burial was to be in Beulah Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Rev. Leon Gray; one daughter, Retta Gray of Fyffe; three sons, Charles Leon Gray of Fyffe, Edwin Ronald Gray of Huntsville and Billy Wayne Gray of Douglasville, Ga.; and 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Nancy M. Jackson
SOMERVILLE - Nancy Matthews Jackson, 84, died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home chapel in Hartselle with the Revs. Scott Harris and Cliff Mitchell officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Jackson was a native of Morgan County, a beautician for 60 years and a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Meredith B. Jackson.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Crawford of Somerville; one brother, J.E. Matthews of Vacaville, Calif.; one sister, Azelee Ellis of Somerville; and two grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Blue Springs Baptist Church in Somerville.

Mattie L. Keel
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Mattie Louise Keel, 74, died Friday at her home. The funeral was Sunday at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Charles Underwood officiating.
Burial was in Green Valley Cemetery.
Mrs. Keel was a native of Madison County and a member of New Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Keel.
Survivors include one son, J.E. Keel of Harvest; one sister, Tressie Collins of Owens Cross Roads; and two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

John R. Miller Sr.
CENTRE - John Russell Miller Sr., 84, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be today at 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home chapel in Centre with the Revs. Ricky Pollard and Arnold Oliver officiating. Entombment will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home in Huntsville.
Mr. Miller was formerly of Huntsville. He was a retired U.S. Army officer and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Miller.
Survivors include his son, John Russell Miller Jr. of Huntsville; two daughters, Sharon Maze of Centre and Karen Opp of Norcross, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Jordan Funeral Home and Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Pine Grove Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.

Lola B. Moon
SCOTTSBORO - Lola Beatress Moon, 76, died Sunday in Falkville. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements. Bros. Paul Stone and Ollie Cooper will officiate the service.
Burial will be in Baker Cemetery in Owens Cross Roads with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Moon was a native of Sparta, Tenn., and had lived in Scottsboro for two years. She was a member of Cave Springs Holiness Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Lester G. Moon.
Survivors include six daughters, Lucille Nichols of Woodbury, Tenn., Lorene Bates of Somerville, Mattie Bennett of Falkville, Sue Gway of Hazel Green, Linda Smith of Hartselle and Peggy Wilburn of Gurley; one stepdaughter, Ruby Russell of Decatur; four sons, Lindsey Sullivan of Huntsville, Joe Moon of Scottsboro, Gene Moon of Montgomery and Freddy Moon of Owens Cross Roads; three stepsons, Bobby Russell of Huntsville, Sonny Moon of Selma and Millard Moon of Tennessee; her mother, Mattie Chestine of New Hope; and 19 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren.

Albert C. Neal
Albert Curtis Neal, 63, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Neal was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Neal of Huntsville; one son, Terry Cantrell of Huntsville; one sister, Essie McElroy of Poland, Ohio; one brother, Kenneth J. Neal of Huntsville; his mother, Mary Windgard of Huntsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Luceno L. Quirante
Dr. Luceno L. Quirante, 85, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Oakwood College Seventh-day Adventist Church with Pastor E.C. Ward officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Dr. Quirante was a retired Oakwood College professor, and was chairman of the Division of Education and Applied Sciences from 1971 to 1978. He was a graduate of Philippine Union College, Far Eastern University and the University of Maryland.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Ford Quirante of Huntsville; two daughters, Dr. Melu Jean Quirante of Huntsville and Dr. Delma Quirante-Chenn of Avon Park, Fla.; and one son, Ednardo Quirante of Nashville.

Curry Richey Jr.
Curry Richey Jr., 77, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating.
Burial will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Kimbrell Cemetery in Tannehill.
Mr. Richey was a World War II veteran and fought in the battles of Luzon, the Solomon Islands and the Bismarck Archipelago. He was an amateur radio operator and a member of AMA and RCRC. He was also an electrical engineer and retired from AVEX in Huntsville. He held several patents on inventions and designed several systems for the space program. He tracked the first satellites, both Soviet and American.
Survivors include his wife, Jean M. Richey of Huntsville; two sons, Alan Richey of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Lynn Richey of Scottsboro; one brother, Don Richey of Madisonville, Ky.; two sisters, Mary Hardin of McCalla and Bobbie Bright of Bonnerdale, Ark.; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

John F. Segrest III
TAFT, Tenn. - John Fletcher Segrest III, 52, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at United Methodist Church with the Rev. William Bruce Walters and Jim Shaw officiating.
Mr. Segrest was an Auburn graduate and an aerospace engineer. He had been senior engineer and project/consulting aerospace engineer at Northrop
Services Inc. He was also a senior engineer at SPARTA Inc. and was later given the Lockheed Martin position of THAAD BM/C31 chief engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jackson Segrest; two sons, Justin Fletcher Segrest and Nolan Jackson Segrest, both of Taft; and his father, J.F. Segrest Jr. of Tuskegee.
Visitation will be at the church after the funeral.

J.T. Shirey
SYLVANIA - J.T. Shirey, 88, died Saturday at a Fort Payne hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Funeral home with the Rev. Nolan Ford and the Rev. Doyle Shirey officiating.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Mae Shirey; one daugher, Rita Sue Stone of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; one son, Benny J. Shirey of Sylvania; one sister, Wynelle Washington of Canada; three brothers, Hobson Shirey, Bill Shirey and Rev. Doyle Shirey, all of Fort Payne; and three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Sybil H. Spears
Sybil Hodnett Spears, 78, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local nursing home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Spears was a native of Clay County and had lived in Huntsville 41 years. She retired from Pizitz Department Store after 25 years there and was a member of University Baptist Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Donna Savage of Madison; one son, Joel Spears of Killen; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to American Diabetes Association.

Edna I. Turky
CROSSVILLE - Edna Irene Turky, 89, died Saturday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Belchers Chapel Methodist Church.
Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Byrd of Crossville and Maurine L. Baswell of Geraldine; one son, Charles Turk of Boaz; and 12 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Vi Wachter
Vi Wachter, 63, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Wachter was a graduate of St. Elizabeths School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio, and was a nurse at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Hospital. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and helped operate Berkley Thrift Store.
Survivors include her husband, Paul G. Wachter Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Renee Wachter of McCordsville, Ind.; one son, Jonathan Wachter of Atlanta; three brothers, Eugene Albers of Phoenix, Ivo Albers of Celina, Ohio, and Luke Albers of Clayton, Ohio; and one sister, Lucille Newton of Madison, Wisc.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church building fund or to the American Cancer Society.

John S. Welzyn
John Stanley Welzyn, 66, of Huntsville died Sunday. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Welzyn was a native of Chicopee, Mass., and had lived in Huntsville since 1960. He retired from NASA and was a Korean War veteran. He was also the public address announcer for the Milton Frank High School football team from 1964 to 1996 and for Alabama A&M from 1989 to 1996. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. Welzyn.
Survivors include one daughter, Ginger Schrimsher of Huntsville; three sons, Michael Welzyn, Ken Welzyn and Greg Welzyn, all of Huntsville; one brother, Robert Welzyn of Birmingham; and four grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to American Cancer Society.

Evelyn S. White
TRENTON, Ga. - Evelyn Shrader White, 69 died Saturday. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Revs. Watson Williams and Jack Combs officiating.
Burial was to be in Macklin Cemetery in Rosalie.
Mrs. White was preceded in death by her husband, Roy C. White.
Survivors include one sister, Loretta Thornhill of Rosalie, and one brother, Billy Shrader of Trenton.

Mary Wright
HARTSELLE - Mary Sue Black Wright, 78, died Sunday at a Hartselle hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with the Revs. Bob Gordon and Jack Redfearn officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle in charge.
Mrs. Wright was a native of Morgan County, a county schools teacher and an active member of West Hartselle Baptist Church.
Survivors include one brother, R.B. Black Sr. of Decatur, and two sisters, Maurine Black Cornhill of Hartselle and Barbara Black Terry of Marion.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
