Canola W. Black
COLUMBUS, GA. - Canola Worley Black, 96, died Monday in a local nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Mount Flat Baptist Church.
Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz directing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.B. Black.
Survivors include two daughters, Annie Cannington of Georgia and Betty Black of Virginia; and eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Kyle D. Brady
HAZEL GREEN - Kyle D. Brady, 39, died Sunday at his home. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Joel Carwile and the Rev. Lon Ostrzycki officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Brady of Huntsville; two daughters, Jennifer Brady and Laura Brady, both of Hazel Green ; two sons, Michael Brady and Jonathan Brady, both of Hazel Green ; his mother, Deanie McDougal of New Market; his father, J.W. Brady Jr. of Georgia; his stepmother, Doris Brady of Georgia; two sisters, Rita Casey of Cullman and Dianna Browning of Laceys Spring; two stepbrothers, Tim Bennett of Arab and Jeff Bennett of Laceys Spring; one stepsister, Melissa Davis of Albertville; and grandparents, J.W. Brady Sr. and Gwen Brady of Huntsville.

James L. Franklin Jr.
WINCHESTER, Tenn. - James L. Franklin Jr., 49, died Sunday. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Section Funeral Home with the Rev. M.D. Bryant officiating.
Burial was in Macedonia Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Amanda Steele of Keith Springs, Tenn.; two sons, Mark James Franklin of Winchester and David Franklin of Keith Springs; his father, James Franklin Sr. of Macedonia; four sisters, Linda Curtis of Michigan, Debbie Franklin of Chattanooga, Patricia Michalak of Washington and Lisa Henson of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; two brothers, Tommy Franklin of Section and Tony Franklin of Michigan; and three grandchildren.

Dorothy I. Gant
CLAYTON, Ga. - Dorothy I. Gant, 91, died Tuesday at a Clayton nursing home. Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, Ga., will announce funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Gant was a native of Niles, Mich., moved to Huntsville in the 1940s and to Cocoa Beach, Fla., in the 1950s where her husband worked in the space program. She moved to Georgia in 1996.
Survivors include four daughters, Jean Roberson of Huntsville, Edith Elrod of Niles, Audrey Shannon of Louisville, Ky., and Pat Thompson of Sautee, Ga.; two sons, John Austin of Greenville, S.C., and Charles Austin of Dallas; and 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dorthula M. Harris
Dorthula M. Harris, 93, of 4812 Lumary Drive in Huntsville died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Madkins Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Endia Scruggs officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Harris was on the Senior Usher Board at Madkins Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of Mizpah Chapter No. 37 of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Harris and Mary Robinson, both of Huntsville; two sons, Thomas Ragland and John H. McField of Chicago; one sister, Cora Scruggs of Madison; and 28 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Phyllis H. Kanupp
Phyllis Huffman Kanupp, 63, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at noon at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Burial was in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Kanupp was a native of Northwilkesboro, N.C., and had lived in Huntsville 40 years. She retired from NASA and was a member of Oak Park Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Kanupp of Huntsville; one son, Kevin Jack Kanupp of Huntsville; one daughter, Kimberly Jill Pounders of Killen; one sister, Linda Huffman Handy of North Wilksboro, N.C.; one brother, Homer Lee Huffman of North Wilksboro; and three grandchildren.

Edna P. Kelly
SCOTTSBORO - Edna P. Kelly, 56, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Open Door Mission Church in Scottsboro with the Rev. William Bright officiating.
Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Kelly was a member of the Open Door Mission Church.
Survivors include her husband, Lewis Kelly; three daughters, Cynthia M. Simpson and Norma Jean Kelly, both of Scottsboro, and Mary J. Hutchins of Bridgeport; two sons, Barry L. Kelly of Scottsboro and Darrell E. Kelly of Earlington, Ky.; two stepsons, Robert L. Tolliver of Huntsville and Gary P. Kelly of Scottsboro; four brothers, James Craft, Michael Craft, William Craft and Buddy Craft, all of Scottsboro; five sisters, Margie Wilson of Hollywood, Ann Olivia of Chattanooga and Martha Ellison, Cecile Smith and Lucille Edmondson, all of Scottsboro; and 22 grandchildren.

James Kelley Jr.
James "Dog" Kelley Jr., 52, of Huntsville died Tuesday. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Nelms Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Leroy Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Survivors include one son, Delmer Kelley of Deland, Fla.; his father, James "Bow" Kelley of Chattanooga, Tenn.; his mother, Louise Goins of Madison; two brothers, William K. Kelley of Chattanooga and Melvin Kelley of Huntsville; one sister, Evangelist Joanette Jones of Huntsville; and one grandchild.

Charles Langston
FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. - Charles Allen Franklin "Joe" Langston, 59, died Feb. 2 in Fort Walton Beach. The graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Langston was a native of Huntsville and lived here until he was 25. He worked in construction and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He also worked in the music industry in Nashville for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Ava Marie Shrout of Atlanta and Cynthia Loraine Langston of Stanford, Conn.; three brothers, Richard Langston and Perry Langston, both of Fayetteville, Tenn., and Roger Langston of Huntsville; four sisters, Virginia Mills of New Orleans, Cornelia Libisch of Fayetteville, N.C., Peggy McNutt of Yuma, Ariz., and Frances McFall of Tombstone, Ariz.; and four grandchildren.

Stanley R. Maynard
GURLEY - Stanley Ray Maynard, 59, died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Joe Ventress officiating.
Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
Mr. Maynard was a native of Norfolk, Va., and had lived in Madison County 25 years. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star and the Vietnamese Service Medal.
Survivors include his wife, Elma J. Maynard of Gurley; one daughter, Debbie J. Byrd of Big Cove; two sons, Jimmy R. Maynard of Gurley and Gary L. Maynard of Tacoma, Wash.; one sister, Pamela Osborn of Gurley; one brother, William H. Maynard Jr. of Gurley; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William Miller
William "Jesse" Miller, 78, of Huntsville died Tuesday in Fayetteville, Tenn. The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Harold Coomer officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Miller was a native of Colbert County, had lived many years in Birmingham and owned and operated Millers Shoe Shop in Terrant. He also lived in Decatur, where he owned Millers Shoe House. He lived in Huntsville 26 years and was a member of Lincoln Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eula "Billie" Lamon Miller.
Survivors include two daughters, Jane Hamm of Tuscumbia and Janice Newcomb of Meridianville; one son, James "Jimmy" Miller of Huntsville; one sister, Leara Williford of Florence; and five grandchildren, seven great-grandchlidren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Rufus J. Moore
NEW MARKET - Rufus J. Moore, 73, of J.B. Walker Road died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 1:30 p.m. at Britton Cemetery with the Rev. Elton Brazier officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home in Hazel Green is in charge of burial.
Mr. Moore was a native of Madison County, a World War II Navy veteran and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Jerrie Moore of New Market; three daughters, Linda White and Judy Moore, both of New Market, and Janice Horton of Huntsville; one son, Pete Moore of New Market; four sisters, Mae Phillips of South Carolina, Rachel Phillips of Huntsville and Carolyn White and Barbara Durham, both of New Market; three brothers, Johnnie Moore and Roy T. Moore, both of New Market, and Dickey Ray Moore of Hazel Green ; and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Gerald A. Moske
Gerald Anthony Moske, 67, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. No funeral is planned.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mr. Moske lived in Huntsville 19 years and had worked at Atrion Medical Products. He was also former president of the Alabama Ornithological Society.
Survivors include his wife, Sue R. Moske of Huntsville; one son, Toby Moske of Golden, Colo.; one daughter, Tammy Sorrels of North Carolina; two stepsons, Garth Patterson of Highland Park, N.J., and Richard Patterson of Walnut, Calif.; his mother, Nellis Moske of Springfield, Va.; one brother, Ted Moske of Springfield; one sister, Jane Cartwright of Springfield; and five grandchlidren.
Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Nature Conservancy, 2821-C 2nd Ave. South, Birmingham, 35233.

James S. Schnepple
PROSPECT, Tenn. - James Scott Schnepple, 30, of Witt Road died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Carr and Erwin Funeral Home with Gary Kelly officiating.
Burial will be in Elkton Cemetery.
Mr. Schnepple was a native of California and was an engineer at Cybex Compter Products.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Slayton of Prospect; one son, Hub Schnepple of Prospect; his father, Terry Schnepple of Oregon; his mother, Kathy Schnepple of Ohio; his stepmother, Deann Schnepple of Oregon; two brothers, Jason Schnepple of Oregon and Michael Schnepple of Washington; and one grandmother, Opal Schnepple of California.

Mary Simmons
Mary Ann McBride Simmons, 95, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Saturday at noon at Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home McMinnville, Tenn.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mrs. Simmons was a native of Warren County, Tenn., and had lived in Huntsville three and a half years. She was a member of Shellsford Baptist Church in McMinnville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Lee Simmons Sr.; one daughter, Sissie Templeton; and three sons, Alvin C. Simmons, Harold Simmons and Wiley Lee Simmons Jr.
Survivors include one daughter, Wanda Earle of Huntsville; one brother, Eugene McBride of Chicago; and eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at Love-Cantrell and Cope Funeral Home.

Betty J. Smith
MADISON - Betty Joe Smith, 66, of 205 Carter Road died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim McCord and the Rev. David McMichael officiating.
Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery with Madison Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Smith was a native of Walker County and had lived in Huntsville and Madison the last 36 years. She retired from Motorola Semiconductors after 25 years there. She was also a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry Smith of Madison; one son, Michael D. Smith of Huntsville; one brother, Charles Nix of Madison; her mother, Bea M. Nix of Madison; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or the American Cancer Society.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Vi Wachter
Vi Wachter, 63, of Huntsville died Monday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with the Rev. Louis Giardino officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Wachter was a graduate of St. Elizabeths School of Nursing in Dayton, Ohio, and was a nurse at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Hospital. She was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and helped operate the Berkley Thrift Store.
Survivors include her husband, Paul G. Wachter Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Renee Wachter of McCordsville, Ind.; one son, Jonathan Wachter of Atlanta; three brothers, Eugene Albers of Phoenix, Ivo Albers of Celina, Ohio, and Luke Albers of Clayton, Ohio; and one sister, Lucille Newton of Madison, Wisc.
Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Spirit Catholic Church building fund or to the American Cancer Society.

Jennie M. Walker
NEW HOPE - Jennie Mae Walker, 87, of 613 Johnson Ave. died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Cindy Bennett officiating.
Burial will be in Walker Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carvel Walker; and one son, Roger Walker.
Survivors include two daughters, Garna Meadows of Louisiana and Mary Wright of Madison; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Walker Cemetery Fund.

Dilmus Wigley
RAINSVILLE - Dilmus Wigley, 70, died Wednesday. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Rainsville Assembly of God Church with the Rev. David Moore, the Rev. Gary Haymon, the Rev. Melvin Dawwson and the Rev. Calvin Wigley officiating.
Burial will be in Straight Creek Cemetery with Sand Mountain Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Wigley was a member of the Rainsville Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Wigley; three daughters, Patricia Lusk of Scottsboro and Dana Dimovski and Theris Baker, both of Inkster, Mich.; four sons, Eddie Wigley of Howell, Mich., and Barry Wigley, Mark Wigley and Roger Wigley, all of Rainsville; four sisters, Stella Hartline of Steele, Ala., and Allie Haymon, Bea Woods and Clara Helton, all of Powell; three brothers, Rev. Calvin Wigley of Ringgold, Ga., and Robbie Wigley and Ardean Wigley, both of Rainsville; and 16 grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 1 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Gary M. Wright
ATLANTA - Gary Milton Wright, 47, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Johns-Ridouts Elmwood Chapel in Birmingham.
Mr. Wright was formerly of Birmingham, a Birmingham Southern College graduate and worked at Bellsouth 18 years.
Survivors include his wife, Kim Harrison Wright of Atlanta; three sons, Christian Alexander Wright of Birmingham, Gary Seth Wright of Florence and Joseph Kyle Thomas of Atlanta; three daughters, Jessica Ashley Wright of Gadsden, Shelby Autumn Wright of Decatur and Lindsay Elizabeth Thomas of Atlanta; his parents, Jesse Milton Wright and Carolyn Roberts Wright, both of Hoover; one brother, Randy Terrell Wright of Sanford, N.C.; one sister, Lisa Wright Wilson of Madison, Miss.; and one granddaughter and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
