Daymond Bell
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Daymond Bell, 54, of 434 Corders Crossroads died Wednesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with Bro. Carlos Beddingfield officiating.
Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
Mr. Bell was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., an inspector for PPG and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Rutledge Bell of Fayetteville; his mother, Retha Bradford Bell of Fayetteville; one daughter, Jill Bell Jones of Taft, Tenn.; one son, Jeffery Scott Bell of Fayetteville; four brothers, Tom Bell, Bobby Bell and Jimmy Bell, all of Fayetteville, and Cole Bell of Huntsville; one sister, Peggy Smith of Harvest; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Horton L. Boone
Horton Lewis Boone, 73, of 456 Indian Creek Road died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Sykes officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Boone retired from the civil service and the armed forces. He was a deacon at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church and a Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Frances C. Boone of Huntsville; eight daughters, Callie L. Ayers, Elizabeth B. Cole, Doris F. Torain, Gail Woods and Gloria D. Battle, all of Huntsville, Flora M. Davis, Mary A. Adepoju and Ella D. LeSane, all of Fairbanks, Alaska; two sons, Carl M. Lane of Huntsville and Nunry T. Williamson of San Antonio, Texas; and 22 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be Saturday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Woodrow B. Corbett
COLUMBUS, Ga. - Woodrow Bascom Corbett, 84, died Monday at Big Springs Manor in Huntsville. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. EST at Gentian Baptist Church here with Steve King officiating.
Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge.
Mr. Corbett was a member and deacon of Gentian Baptist Church, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, and an Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Wayne Reynolds of Athens; and two grandchildren, Paige Reynolds Walker of Huntsville and Wesley Douglas Reynolds of Athens.

Patricia de Ortega
GUNTERSVILLE - Patricia Anne Edwards de Ortega, 62, died March 18 at a Huntsville hospital. A memorial service will be Saturday at 4 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial will be later in Bolivar, Tenn.
She was born in New York and moved with her parents to Guntersville in 1947 to develop the Ossawintha Resort, the first swimmer resort on the lake. She was a school teacher and author, writing seven books on Mexico in English and Spanish.
She is survived by one daughter, Michelle Ortega-Edwards of Guntersville; one son, Michael Ortega-Edwards of Massachusetts; and mother, Inez Edwards Reese of Guntersville.
Memorial donations may be made to IAE Inc., P.O. Box, 663, Guntersville, 35976, a company organized by her and a friend to improve relations between countries.

William H. Everson
MADISON - William H. Everson, 54, of 139 Haygood Drive died Saturday in Huntsville. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Caleb officiating.
Burial will be in Collier Cemetery in Limestone County with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Victoria Everson of Madison; four daughters, Cetherine A. Shaw, Victoria Everson and Angela O. Everson, all of Madison, and Terri Lynette Bailey of Belle Mina; five sons, Carlos Langford of Huntsville, Charles Bailey of Belle Mina, William K. Shaw of Madison, Kenneth Williams of Georgia and Orlando Clay of Triana; five sisters, Ophelia Davis, Johnnie Mae Jordan, Brenda Jordan and Jacqueline Jordan, all of Huntsville, and Marie Sublett of Triana; four brothers, Fred Everson, Robert Lee Everson and Clifford L. Jordan, all of Huntsville, and James Jordan of Madison; and 12 grandchildren.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Paul H. Fisher Jr.
Paul H. Fisher Jr., 69, of Huntsville died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Mayfair Church of Christ with Dr. Gary Bradley officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Fisher was a member of Mayfair Church of Christ and a native of Oak Park, Ill. He lived for a while in Wheaton, Ill., graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He later moved to Huntsville and worked for the government, retiring from NASA in 1981.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Fisher of Huntsville; his stepmother, Ruth Fisher of Enumclaw, Wash.; three daughters, Patricia Warren of Ozark, Ala., Jennifer Lawson of Fayetteville, Ark., and Barbara Durham of Green wood, Ark.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to AGAPE of Huntsville or Childhaven Childrens House in Cullman.

John C. Harrison
John Coyle Harrison, 63, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be in Texas with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Mr. Harrison worked at Teledyne-Browne Engineering in Television Operations.
Survivors include his wife, Joanna Larke Harrison of Huntsville; one son, J.C. Harrison of Huntsville; one daughter, Jo Beth Harrison Carter of Somerville; two brothers, Robert Glenn Harrison of Houston, Texas, and Donald Ray Harrison of Baytown, Texas; and one grandson.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ailene R. Henderson
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ailene Renfroe Henderson, 85, of 6 Lancer Lane died Wednesday at a Fayetteville nursing home. The graveside service will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Stewarts Cemetery with Don Gatlin officiating.
Higgins Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Henderson was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., a homemaker and a Baptist.
Survivors include one daughter, Barbara Simms of Fayetteville; one son, Larry Henderson of Modesto, Calif.; one half brother, Paul Renfro of Grant; and 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Vachel N. Johnson
ANNISTON - Vachel N. Johnson, 91, of 530 Lenlock Lane died Tuesday at a local hospital. A graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Boaz.
Carr Funeral Home of Boaz is in charge of burial.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Ramont and Vivian D. Worley, both of Florida; one son, Thomas Johnson of Anniston; and four grandchildren.

Eliza M. Jones
MADISON - Eliza M. Jones, 64, of 122 Ervin Lane died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Cumberland Prebyterian Church with the Rev. William Manning officiating.
Burial will be in Royal Cemetery in Madison with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three daughters, Rhonda Jones, Jacqueline Jones and Michelle Jones, all of Madison; two sons, Rodney Smith and Keith Jones, both of Madison; her mother, Melinda Ervin Gaither of Madison; one sister, Christine Anderson of Madison; and 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Starland P. King
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Sgt. 1st Class Starland P. King, 44, died March 17 in Memphis. The funeral was Tuesday at N.J. Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Memphis with the Rev. Kenneth Buntyn officiating. A graveside service was Wednesday at Indian Creek Cemetery with the Rev. Troy Garner officiating.
Royal Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Cleveland of Memphis; two daughters, Lavina M. King and Nicole D. King, both of British Columbia; two stepsons, Jason Cleveland and Joey Cleveland, both of Memphis; one sister, Mary Joiner of Huntsville; and several aunts and uncles.

Ruth P. Lambert
JASPER, Tenn. - Ruth Pittman Lambert, 90, died Wednesday at a Chattanooga, Tenn., nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Rogers Funeral Home chapel in Jasper with the Revs. Roger Webb and Paul Medley officiating.
Burial will be in Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Lambert was a lifelong resident of Marion County, Tenn., and a member of the Jasper First Baptist Church and its Epsilon Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Lambert.
Survivors include two sons, Samuel D. Lambert of Jasper and Willard L. Lambert of Huntsville; and five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Jasper First Baptist Church Building Fund.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Larry J. Mashburn
NEW HOPE - Larry Joe Mashburn, 37, of 848 Mayo Road died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with Charley Lawson officiating.
Burial will be in Brown Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Mashburn of New Hope; one son, Timothy Joe Mashburn of New Hope; his mother, Mildred Mashburn of New Hope; four sisters, Mary Sue Grayson and Kathy Gulley, both of New Hope, Linda McNeese of Hazel Green and Edith Spurlock of Tennessee; and four brothers, Charles Eugene Mashburn, James Earl Mashburn and Jerry Wayne Mashburn, all of New Hope, and Ernest Junior Mashburn of Tennessee.
Visitation will be today from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dewey H. Matheny
RINEYVILLE, Ky. - Dewey H. Matheny, 82, died Tuesday at a Kentucky hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Rineyville Baptist Church with the Revs. Odis Weaver, Raymond Ward and George Tichenor officiating.
Burial will be in Rineyville Cemetery with Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home of Vine Grove, Ky., in charge.
Mr. Matheny was a member of Rineyville Baptist Church and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Matheney of Rineyville; two daughters, Suzy Bruton of Leitchfield, Ky., formerly of Huntsville, and Kay Farmer of Rineyville; one brother, Tom Matheny of Monterey, Tenn.; four sisters, Anna Presley and Mollie Matthews, both of Monterey, Tenn., Willie Snodderly of Johnson City, Tenn., and Verna Morgan of Dayton, Tenn.; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 8 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home. There will also be a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. and a Scottish Rite service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Sumner A. Miles
Sumner Ann Miles, 51, of 905 Lee Drive in Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 3 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home chapel with Elder Robert Toney officiating.
Burial will be Pine Hill in Grand Bay.
Survivors include one son, Archie Smith of Chicago; two sisters, Evelyn Smith of San Diego, Calif., and Carolyn Smith of Grand Bay; and three grandchildren.

Mary C. Mundi
Mary Costa Mundi, 93, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood with the Rev. Martin Muller officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Cemetery in Midfield with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Mundi was formerly of Birmingham and was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony M. "Tony" Mundi.
Survivors include two daughters, Florence "Sam" DiPiazza of Birmingham and Rosemary Nicastro of Huntsville; one sister, Myrtle LaRocca of Birmingham; and 20 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a prayer vigil at 7 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Louis Giardino. Visitation will also be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ridouts Valley Chapel in Birmingham with a prayer vigil at 6:30 p.m. conducted by the Rev. Martin Muller.

Audrey E. Pendergrass
OWENS CROSS ROADS - Audrey Elizabeth Pendergrass, 83, of 124 Allen Moon Lane died Wednesday at a Huntsville nursing home. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Walker Cemetery with Bro. Bill Taylor officiating.
New Hope Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Pendergrass was a member of Grace Chapel Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jessie Barnett of Canada and Becky Martin of Owens Cross Roads; one son, James "Pento" Pendergrass of Owens Cross Roads; two sisters, Lois Ball of Athens and Rosenell Leak of New Hope; three brothers, Jack Kilgore of Florida, Pee Wee Kilgore of Illinois and Jim Kilgore of New Hope; and five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ira J. Price
ATHENS - Ira Joe Price, 48, of Randall Circle died Tuesday at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Bevills Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Benny Berry officiating.
Gallant Funeral Home in Hazel Green is in charge of burial.
Mr. Price worked for Chrysler Corp.
Survivors include four sisters, Betsy Shroads, Nancy Elbertson, Pat Little and Reva Jackson, all of Ohio; one brother, Mike Price of Ohio; and a special friend, Alberta Hill of Huntsville.

Mittie B. Sparks
GUNTERSVILLE - Mittie Belle Sparks, 87, of 79 LeCroy Road died Tuesday at a local nursing home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial was to be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Cornelia ''Sissie Willis of Birmingham; one son, Johnny Sparks of Guntersville; and four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lewis A. Stanfield
BOAZ - Lewis Allison Stanfield, 99, of Boaz died Tuesday at an Oneonta hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial was in Mortons Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Larry Stanfield of Boaz; two sisters, Wilmunth Densmore of Altoona and Pearl Fields of New Mexico; one brother, Earl Stanfield of Altoona; and six grandchildren.

Celesteen T. Stewart
Celesteen Tibbs Stewart, 46, of 2904 Pulaski Pike died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at noon at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Gregory Woods officiating.
Burial will be in Tibbs Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Stewart worked at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include one daughter, Heather Nicole Stewart of Huntsville; one son, Brian Patrick Stewart of Huntsville; her mother, Mamie T. Tibbs of Toney; five sisters, Juliette Hammonds of Huntsville, Mary Copeland of Harvest, Marva Tibbs of Toney, Elloise Broadnax of St. Albans, N.Y., and Teresa Musson of Flint, Mich.; two brothers, Carl Tibbs and Melvin Tibbs, both of Huntsville; and three grandchildren.

Georgia H. Tyson
Georgia Hannah Tyson, 84, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be today at 4 p.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home South with the Rev. Richard Edmonds officiating.
Survivors include two sons, Albert David Tyson of Las Vegas and George Richard Tyson of Oviedo, Fla.; and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Assocation.

Homer Webb
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Homer "Spider" Webb, 72, died Wednesday at a Fayetteville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Shouse and the Rev. Jay Archer officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Webb retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Gene G. Webb of Fayetteville; one son, William Lewis Webb of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and two grandchildren.

Alberta S. Whitman
Alberta S. Whitman, 62, of 3002 Turf Ave. in Huntsville died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at Syler Tabernacle Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Pendleton officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Whitman was a member of St. Rebecca Primitive Baptist Church more than 40 years and was the churchs first musician.
Survivors include five daughters, Phyllis Whitman, Gloria Whitman Miller, Tiajuana Whitman, Teresa Whitman Murphy and Seneta Whitman, all of Huntsville; five sons, Artro Whitman, Carl Whitman, Felix Whitman, Michael Whitman and Vicent Whitman, all of Huntsville; six sisters, Addie Mae Parker, Specie Stewart, Callie Horton and Irene Snoddy, all of Huntsville, Emma Sims of Chicago and Mildred Hawk of Nashville; three brothers, Charles Stewart, Edgar Stewart and Clarence Stewart, all of Huntsville; and 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
