Mrs. Deaton opened and managed garment factories from 1932 to 1967. She was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Laceys Spring. He received an electrical engineering degree from Tulane University and retired from IBM Corp. after 29 years. He also serve in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
