Verenice Bailey
ABILENE, Texas - Verenice Bailey, 87, died Friday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Florida Memorial Funeral Home chapel in Rockledge, Fla.
Burial will be in Florida Memorial Gardens with Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Bailey was a former resident of Huntsville, Ala. She was preceded in death by her husband, Russelle Bailey.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Ash of Abilene and Linda Bailey of Huntsville; one sister, Rita Bradley of Memphis; and three grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to the Minter Lane Church of Christ, 2502 Minter Lane, Abilene, Texas 79603.

Marie Wray Bramlett
LACEYS SPRING - Marie Wray Bramlett, 78, of Blackground Road, died Saturday at a health facility in Athens. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Valhermoso First Christian Church with the Rev. Clint Coffey officiating.
Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Bramlett had been an assistant manager for G.C. Murphy Co. in Huntsville and was treasurer of Valhermoso First Christian Church for 27 years.
Survivors include her husband, Earnest Bramlett; two sons, James W. Bramlett of Laceys Spring and E. Keith Bramlett of Asheville, N.C.; one daughter, Sandra B. Sims of Laceys Spring; two sisters, Modell Garrison of Union Hill and Annie Ruth Walker of Hartselle; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Carl E. Brownfield
SCOTTSBORO - Carl E. Brownfield, 73, died Saturday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Revs. R.L. Tyler and Jerry Glenn officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery in Hollywood.
Mr. Brownfield was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Donald Brownfield and Larry Eugene Brownfield.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lewis Brownfield; four daughters, Helen Poirier of Louisiana, Carletta Verhine of Georgia and Roxanne Koopman and Laura White, both of Scottsboro; three sons, Bryce Brownfield, Merril Brownfield and Eric Brownfield, all of Scottsboro; his mother, Bicy Smith of Scottsboro; two sisters, Betty Jean Carter of Bridgeport and Bertha Nell Hardin of Tennessee; two brothers, Newman Brownfield and Hubert Brownfield, both of Stevenson; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Maude Carter
ATHENS - Maude Carter, 84, of Athens, died Friday at an Athens health facility. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral home with Robert Hall officiating.
Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
Mrs. Carter was a native of Limestone County, a homemaker and member of Utica Church of Christ in Sterling Heights, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Addie Henderson; one sister, Mary Henderson and one half-brother, Frank Johnson.
Survivors include one daughter, Marjorie Hine of Athens; one son, Wayne Carter of Battle Creek, Mich.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Franklin Chatham Sr.
HOLLY POND - Franklin D. Chatham Sr., 64, of Holly Pond died Saturday at in Douglasville, Ga. A graveside service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Baileyton Cemetery with Gober Funeral Home of Arab in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Bush of Georgia and Pamela Webb of Birmingham; two sons, Franklin D. Chatham Jr. of Georgia and Mark Chatham of Pell City; two sisters, Irene Fordham of Birmingham and Pauline Young of Georgia; two brothers, William Chatham of Birmingham and Joe Chatham of Holly Pond; and 12 grandchildren.

Catherine Clark
HAZEL GREEN - Catherine Clark, 78, died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Eddie Lones officiating.
Burial will be in Stateline Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Clark was a native of Madison County. She was a member of State Line United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Ernest D. Clark; two daughters, Dianne C. Hinson of Birmingham and Ernestine Patterson of Huntsville; one son, James Earl ODell of Marietta, Ga.; and 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

James A. Corder
ATHENS - James Alfred ''Al Corder, 92, of 507 Gale Lane died Saturday at a local nursing home. A graveside service will be Monday at 11:30 a.m. at ONeal Cemetery with Bro. Ron Owens officiating.
Burial will be in ONeal Cemetery with Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Corder was a member of the Central Church of Christ. He was a member of the Alabama Peace Officers Association and was retired from the City of Athens where he was a license inspector.
Survivors include one daughter, Willa Dean Berzett of Athens; two sisters, Ruth Woodward and Katie Harrison, both of Athens; and one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity.

James W. Fanning
James W. "Jim" Fanning, 55, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The funeral was to have been Saturday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with Dr. Jimmy Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Fanning worked for Huntsville city schools and with the Environmental Education Earth Scope Program. He was a teacher for 25 years.
Survivors include his parents, Roy L. Fanning Sr. and Ruby Prosser Fanning, both of Huntsville; two brothers, Roy Fanning Jr. of Hilton Head, S.C., and Larry P. Fanning of Tucson, Ariz.; two sisters, Sandra Drake of Huntsville and Judith Sharp of Harvest; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Whitesburg Baptist Church Youth Camp.

Elizabeth G. Haag
DECATUR - Elizabeth G. Haag, 88, died June 6 at her home. A memorial service will be held Saturday at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hal Noble officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial arrangements.
Mrs. Haag was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a Red Cross volunteer and member of the Methodist Church.
Survivors include one grandson, George L. Haag III of Decatur; one granddaughter, Scarlet Bradford of Decatur; and three great-grandchildren.

James O. Long
DANVILLE - James Orville Long, 90, of Blankenship Road, died Friday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Estus Hardin officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle in charge.
Mr. Long was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church and had retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Foree Sapp Long.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Blankenship of Danville and Ruth Willis and Jean Guyse, both of Decatur; one brother, W.E. Long of Decatur; one sister, Ivra Jenkins of Decatur; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

James W. Russum
James Woodford ''J.W. Russum, 90, of Huntsville died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lemley Funeral Home chapel in Oneonta.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Russum was a former mayor of Oneonta. He was a World War II veteran, a retired vice president of Compass Bank, a member of the Civitan Club, a member of the Oneonta Masonic Lodge, a member of Zamora Shrine Temple and a patron of the Oneonta Eastern Star. He also served on the State of Alabama Banking Board.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia C. ''Virgie Russum.
Survivors include one niece, Joyce Hollis of Madison; one sister-in-law, Lois Clowdus of Oneonta; one brother-in-law, R.E. Clowdus Jr. of Naples, Fla.; and a special friend, Helen Nash of Blountsville.

Henry J. Scott Jr.
Henry James Scott Jr., 43, of Huntsville died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Farris Drive Church of Christ with Bro. James Gray officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Scott was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked for the U.S. Army Missile Command on Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Scott; his father, Henry J. Scott Sr. of Pensacola, Fla.; five sisters, Sandra J. Scott of Louisville, Tenn., Yolanda R. Appiah-Rubi of Lanham, Md., and Jamesena Elaine Scott, Donna D. Scott Courman and Chioma A.V. Scott, all of Pensacola; three brothers, Carlos M. Scott and Daniel L. Scott, both of Huntsville, and Brian C. Scott of Baltimore.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Lillian C. Townsend
SCOTTSBORO - Lillian Christine Townsend, 51, died Saturday in Richard City, Tenn. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Greater St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal Church in Scottsboro.
Burial will be in Cumberland View Cemetery in Kimball, Tenn., with Rudder Funeral Home in charge.
Miss Townsend was a native of Richard City and was employed at Maples Industries.
Survivors include one son, Charles Johnson of Scottsboro; her father, Charles McCain of Scottsboro; six brothers, Richard Green e of Highland, Calif., Jonathan Laster of Nashville, William Laster of Chattanooga and Darrell Laster, Harold Laster and Wayne Laster, all of Scottsboro; and two grandchildren.

Aubry B. Turner
ELKMONT - Aubry Bobby Turner, 54, died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dwight Rayburn officiating.
Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery.
Survivors include four brothers, William Turner and Nolan Turner, both of Fayetteville, Tenn., Marshall Turner of Athens and Wayne Turner of Elkmont; four sisters, Audrey Living and Emma Hardiman, both of Elkmont, Nora Osborn of Illinois and Nellie Webster of Hartselle; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edgar R. Williams Sr.
Edgar R. Williams Sr., 78, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Williams was a lifelong resident of Huntsville. He was a liftime supporter of Boys Town and a veteran of World War II, in which he received two Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Survivors include his wife, Mary K. Williams; one son, Edgar R. Williams of Huntsville; and one grandson, Michael R. Williams of Huntsville.
Memorial donations may be made to Father Flanagans Boys Town, Boys Town, Neb.

Alton Lamar Woodall
FALKVILLE - Alton Lamar ''Cotton Woodall, 51, of Mount Zion Road, died Saturday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home in Hartselle with the Revs. Johnny Reid and Odie Gregg officiating.
Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Woodall was a native of Morgan County and was employed by Shelby Contracting Co. He was preceded in death by one son, Alton Lamar Woodall, and one brother, Wayne Woodall.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Fuller Woodall; one daughter, Dana Michelle Porter of Falkville; his mother, Lida Waddell Woodall of Hartselle; two brothers, James R. Woodall of Hartselle and Michael Lee Woodall of Massey; five sisters, Brenda J. Baker of Falkville, Dale Ball of Vinemont, Teresa Woodall of Danville, Betty J. Waits and Gail W. Brown, both of Hartselle; and one grandson.
