Louise E. Beck
ATHENS - Louise Etheredge Beck, 86, of 6886 Alabama 72 died Monday at her home. The graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. James Turner officiating.
Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will be in charge of burial.
Mrs. Beck was a member of Poplar Creek Baptist Church. She was a graduate of the University of North Alabama and was a teacher for 27 years in Lawrence and Limestone counties. She was a member of RTA and AEA.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Beck Knowles of Athens; one son, Benjamin Keith Beck of Seattle; one brother, B.T. Etheredge of Town Creek; and four grandchildren, one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was to be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

James T. Clark
DECATUR - James T. Clark, 78, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Queen and the Rev. James Chitwood officiating.
Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Clark was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of First Baptist Church of Austinville and retired from Rider Freight Lines after 31 years.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret N. Clark; one daughter, Sadie Clark Stockton of Augusta, Ga.; two sisters, Eleanor Albano of Decatur and Evelyn Spencer of Hueytown; one brother, Charles Elvin Clark Sr. of Muscle Shoals; and two grandchildren.

Sarah D. Cornelius
GUNTERSVILLE - Sarah Duncan Cornelius, 41, of 4515 Highway 79 South died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville.
Burial will be in Warrenton Cemetery. Mrs. Cornelius was a systems analyst at Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include two daughters, Alison Cornelius and Amber Cornelius, both of Guntersville; parents, Charles and Sue Duncan of Guntersville; one sister, Denise Duncan-Saint of Grant; and one brother, Charles Duncan Jr. of Albertville.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 9 p.m.

Mattie B. Cosper
GUNTERSVILLE - Mattie Bell Cosper, 83, died Monday at a local nursing home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Carr Funeral Home in Boaz.
Burial will be in Forrest Home Cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Catherine Stout of Ohio and Nellie Jo Jones of Cullman; and three brothers, Horace Dunn of Albertville, Ollie Dunn Jr. of Boaz and Floyd Dunn of Florida.

Marvin E. Drake
Marvin E. Drake, 89, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. A graveside service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Ray Halbrooks officiating and Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Drake, a native of Arkadelphia, Ark., spent most of his life in Madison County. He was a founding partner of Huntsville Roofing Co., Southern Materials Corp. and Drake Heating/Air Conditioning Co. He was a member of the Huntsville City Board of Education and was a Shriner, a Mason and a member of Madison United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae H. Drake.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Harlan of Huntsville; one brother, James E. Drake of Athens; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Madison United Methodist Church building fund, 127 Church St., Madison, Ala., 35758, or to a favorite charity.

Lucille A. Durmeyer
Mrs. Lucille Ashley Durmeyer, 81, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local nursing home. A graveside service will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Crowville Cemetery in Crowville, La., with Valhalla Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Durmeyer was retired from the First National Bank of Atlanta.
Survivors include three sisters, Alma Hood of Dawsonville, La., Bernice Rapp of Kenton, Ohio and Iris Carter of Doyline, La.; and three brothers, C.M. Ashley of Delhi, La., Buel Ashley of Porter, Texas and Gene Ashley of Huntsville.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi, La.
Memorials may be made to Gideons International.

Ruth Dunlap Green
FALKVILLE - Mrs. Ruth Dunlap Green, 64, of 19 Second St. died Monday at her home. A graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at Falkville City Cemetery with the Rev. Pat Lawrence officiating and Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle directing.
Mrs. Green was a member of Piney Grove Christian Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Wallace of Hartselle and Amy Verner of Hollywood, Fla.; one son, Randy Green of Boaz; and six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Barbara Hargrove
ELKMONT - Barbara Ann Balch Hargrove, 63, of 26505 New Bethel Road died Tuesday at her home. The memorial service was to be today at 7 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.
Mrs. Hargrove was a member of the Methodist Church and was retired from Ross Breeders Inc.
Survivors include her husband, Fount Thomas "Bill" Hargrove of Elkmont; two sons, Steve Hargrove of Athens and Ralph Hargrove of Elkmont; one daughter, Diann Hargrove Copeland of Athens; her mother, Irene Balch Jett of Athens; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County, P.O. Box 626, Athens, Ala., 35612.

Joseph D. Howard
LACEYS SPRING - Joseph Dale Howard, 50, of 166 Old Silo Road died Monday at a Marshall County hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Mount Olive Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Howard; two daughters, Shanna Hawkins of Union Grove and Amy Howard of Huntsville; one son, Steven C. Howard; two stepdaughters, Kristie Hogan of Kentucky and Valerie Newcomb of Boaz; two stepsons, Dayton Newcomb of Boaz and William Newcomb of Kentucky; mother, Lenora Howard of Laceys Spring; one sister, Sue Prince of Joppa; and three brothers, Wayne Howard of Tennessee, Roger Howard of Huntsville and Terry Howard of Hazel Green .

Sally L. Jackson
DECATUR - Sally L. Jackson, 66, died Saturday at a Decatur hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at St. Stephens P.B. Church with the Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating.
Entombment will be in Roselawn Masoleum with Sharpley Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include three sons, Curtis L. Jackson Sr., Alvin B. Jackson and Avery T. Jackson, all of Decatur; eight daughters, JoAnn Jackson of Huntsville, Jane C. Parr of Austin, Texas, and Veronica J. Williams, Debra Y. Tucker, Wilma L. Jackson, Emily J. Guyman, Pamela J. Jones and Vivian Powell, all of Decatur; and 40 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Joyce F. Jones
NEW HOPE - Joyce Faye Jones, 66, of 287 Butler Lane died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at New Hope Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Ivey officiating.
Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Hershel Jones of New Hope; four daughters, Janice Clemons of New Hope and Sheila Hughes, Carolyn Jones and Brenda Faye Moon, all of Owens Cross Roads; four sons, Donald Ray Jones, Grady Lee Jones, Hershel Wayne Jones and Roger Dale Jones, all of New Hope; one sister, Dorothy Southers of Huntsville; three brothers, Bobby Young of Huntsville, Jerry Young of New Hope and Marlon Young of Owens Crossroads; and 20 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Bruce L. Lambert
Bruce L. Lambert, 74, of Huntsville died Saturday at his home. The memorial service will be today at 6 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel.
Mr. Lambert, a native of Tennessee and longtime resident of Madison County, was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jane Lambert of New Market; two sons, Larry Lambert of New Market and Rickey Lambert of Huntsville; one sister, Modena Curtis of Michigan; and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Clarence E. Little
TRENTON - Clarence E. Little, 71, died Monday at a Scottsboro hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Brothers Charles Washburn, Steve Smith and Johnny Mack Young officiating.
Burial will be in Trenton Cemetery in Jackson County.
Mr. Little was a World War II veteran and was retired from BAMSI and NASA. He was a native of Jackson County and a lifelong resident of Trenton.
Survivors include his wife, Ophelia W. Little of Trenton; one daughter, Karen Chambers of Woodville; three sons, Kenneth Little of Hollytree, Monty Allen Little of Trenton and Mark Little of Scottsboro; one sister, Nita Drake of Woodville; four brothers, Junior Little, Jerry Little, Dennis Little and Glenn Little, all of Woodville; and 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Diane K. Miller
Diane Klinner Miller, 46, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Laughlin Service Chapel with Lee McDonald officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Tommy Miller of Huntsville; one daughter, Maria Skjerbek Hammeken of Denmark; one son, Kenn Hune Jorgensen of Denmark; her father, Laverne M. Klinner of Huntsville; three brothers, Richard Klinner and Cameron Klinner, both of Hazel Green, and James Klinner of Harvest; a sister, Karen Klinner of California; and one grandson, Michel Hammeken.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond L. Pierce
ALBERTVILLE - Raymond Leon Pierce, 76, of 1203 Glendale Drive died Monday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was to be in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Mr. Pierce was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Doris W. Pierce; two daughters, Pat Wilson and Peggy Matthews, both of Huntsville; one sister, Frances Wilkes of Albertville; two brothers, Billy Pierce of Albertville and James Pierce of Huntsville; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Lillie Ragsdale
ALBERTVILLE - Lillie Bell Odell Holderfield Ragsdale, 88, of 204 East Alabama Ave. died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz directing.
Survivors include two daughters, Undene Leeth of Gadsden and Barbara Norris of Crossville; three sons, Travis Holderfield of Gadsden and Randall Holderfield and Ottist Holderfield, both of Albertville; one stepson, Thomas R. Ragsdale of Boaz; two sisters, Lorene Ivey of Snead and Pansy Bouldin of Boaz; one brother, Ollie Odell of Boaz; and 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Catherine Robinson
Catherine Robinson, 41, of Huntsville died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at noon at Union Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. O. Wendell Davis officiating.
Burial will be in Meadowlawn Garden of Peace with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two sons, Myron Dequan Robinson and Marcus Jermaine Robinson, both of Huntsville; her father, Savory Robinson of Huntsville; three sisters, Mary Ann Childers, Shirley Brown and Sharon Denise Frazier, all of Huntsville; and one brother, Leonard Lugman of Huntsville.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Robert R. Spurlock
Robert Reese "Bobby" Spurlock, 43, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Sherry Travis officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
Mr. Spurlock, a native of Lincoln County, Tenn., had lived in Huntsville for 35 years. He was a self-employed insurance appraiser and was a member of the Episcopal Church.
Survivors include one son, Ben T. Spurlock of Huntsville; his mother, Lyndel Miller of Huntsville; and his stepfather, Glen Miller of Huntsville.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Dorris V. Strup
SECTION - Dorris Vernell Strup, 73, of Section died Sunday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church in Munford with the Rev. Steve Dempsey officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Lawson and Janet Strup, both of Ohio; one sister, Lois Butterworth of Munford; one brother, Eugene Dempsey of Section; and three grandchildren and several neices and nephews.

Harold J. Totten
Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Harold John "Red" Totten, 78, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Good Sheperd Catholic Church with Father Joseph Arul officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Totten was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He survived the battle of Midway and received a Purple Heart when he was wounded in battle while serving on the USS Yorktown.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica E. Totten of Huntsville; one son, Richard John Totten of Huntsville; one daughter, Aileen Totten Logan of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with a rosary service at 7.
Memorial donations may be made to the Good Sheperd Catholic Church building fund or to American Diabetes Association.

Vallie M. Towry
FAYETTEVILLE - Vallie Mae Towry, 76, of 139 Prospect Road died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Higgins Funeral Home with the Revs. Ronnie Gay and Ed Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.
Mrs. Towry was retired from Serbin and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Herman Towry of Fayetteville; one daughter, Judy Steelman of Fayetteville; two sons, Kenneth Towry of Guntersville and Dwight Towry of Fayetteville; two sisters, Wilma Norman of Flintville, Tenn., and Ruth Beech of Fayetteville; one brother, Bennie Ray Beech of Huntsville; and seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Walter O. Woolley
MERIDIANVILLE - Walter Otis Woolley, 93, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Paul Clutts officiating.
Mr. Woolley, a native of Perry County, had lived in Madison County since 1937. He was a former principal of Madison County High School and Hazel Green High School and had been a coach at Madison County High School. He was a graduate of Samford University and Peabody College and was a member of Pineview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Woolley of Meridianville; two daughters, Elizabeth Keller of Meridianville and Reba Stewart of Talladega; one brother, George Woolley of Tuscaloosa; one sister, Ruth Robertson of Green sboro; and six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Opportunity Center, 1100 Washington St., Huntsville 35801 or to a favorite charity.
