Samantha Batchelor
LACEYS SPRING - Samantha M. Batchelor, 48, of 155 Westview Lane died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral was Sunday at Moores Funeral Home in Milledgeville, Ga.
Burial was in Mount Carmel Cemetery in McIntyre, Ga., with Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Batchelor; mother, Vera Berry of Georgia; two sisters, Judy Lawrence and Lynn Brantley, both of Georgia; and two brothers, Damon Berry of Georgia and Keith Brantley of Florida.

Jim Beason
SCOTTSBORO - Jim Beason, 56, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. William Ikard officiating.
Burial was to be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Scottsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Talley Beason; one daughter, Kim Bergman of Scottsboro; and one son, Greg Beason of Scottsboro.

Mario R. Bottesini
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Mario Raffael Bottesini, 75, died Sunday in Gulf Breeze, Fla. There will be no funeral.
National Cremation Society in Pensacola is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bottesini lived in Pensacola six years and had lived in Huntsville and Mobile. He served of the board of directors of the Von Braun Civic Center and was president of the Bank of Huntsville.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Howze Bottesini of Pensacola; two daughters, Angela Bottesini and Judi Littlefield; one sister, Elena Hamilton of New Orleans; and two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Lona B. Burnette
Lona B. Burnette, 87, of Huntsville died Tuesday at her home. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home chapel in Clanton.
Burial will be in Chilton Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Burnette was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde G. Burnette, and one daughter, Thomasine Burnette.
Survivors include one daughter, Evelyn Welch of Huntsville; one son, Bobby Burnette of Dallas, Ga.; one brother, George Batton of Jemison; and two grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice Family Care or the Alzheimers Association.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Joy B. Butler
NEW HOPE - Joy Barber Butler, 67, of 2408 Old Gurley Pike died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lynn Dimon officiating.
Burial will be in Twickenham Memory Gardens with New Hope Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Butler was a member of the church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Butler of New Hope; one daughter, Jeanette Moon of New Hope; four sons, Sam Butler of Somerville, Glenn Butler of Columbia, Tenn., Loren Butler of Arab and Alan Butler of Gurley; one sister, Jo Bradford of New Hope; and 18 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Ira Clayton
NASHVILLE - Ira Clayton, 96, died Tuesday. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Clayton was formerly of Madison County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Clayton; and one son, Hubert Clayton Jr.
Visitation will be Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mary H. Dodd
GUNTERSVILLE - Mary H. Dodd, 85, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Donnie Dodd of Scant City; three sisters, Lee Aster Taylor, Exer Huckaby and Opal Rick, all of Guntersville; one brother, Calvin Martin of Decatur; and two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ruby J. Flynn
ATHENS - Ruby Johnson Flynn, 78, of Coleman Avenue died Monday at her home. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church with Dr. Fred Lackey and Dr. Aaron Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home of Athens in charge.
Mrs. Flynn was a native of Limestone County, a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and retired from Redstone Arsenal.
Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Jo Ann Flynn of Milledgeville, Ga., and Susie Owen of Athens; three sisters, Ann Morell of Elkmont, Audrey Looney and Verona Walton, both of Athens; one brother, Charles F. Johnson of Athens; and four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

James R. Grimes
BOLIVAR, Tenn. - Dr. James R. Grimes, 94, died Tuesday in Dayton, Ohio. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Greater Springfield Missionary Baptist Church in Bolivar.
Burial will be in Bolivar Community Cemetery with Dixie Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, LaVera Grimes Henry of Dayton and Doris Ann Johnson of Huntsville; four sons, James Grimes Jr., Albert Burnett Grimes, Ray Forest Grimes and Dewey Arthur Grimes, all of Dayton; and one sister, Vernice Grimes Dixon of Jackson, Tenn.

Charles G. Hulsey
Charles Glen Hulsey, 67, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Roland Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hulsey was a member of Wears Chapel Baptist Church, a Navy Korean Conflict veteran and a retired tool and dye maker.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheila Steward of Athens, Renona Seibert of Decatur and Fonda Martin of Huntsville; one son, Brent Hulsey of Flintville, Tenn.; three sisters, Martha Schimmel of Cottonwood, Ariz., Myra Bice of Huntsville and Carolyn Robinson of New Market; three brothers, Welch Hulsey, Ray Hulsey and Ric Hulsey, all of New Market; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.

Joe E. Jones
UNION GROVE - Joe Elvis Jones, 66, of 471 New Friendship Road died Sunday at a Huntsville hospital. The graveside service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Rice Cemetery in New Market.
Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Jones of Union Grove; three sons, Mark Jones, Phillip Jones and Matt Jones, all of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two stepsons, Wes Hornbuckle of Tennessee and Tony Hornbuckle of Huntsville; one sister, Viren Thornton of Huntsville; and nine grandchildren.

Charles G. King Jr.
GUNTERSVILLE - Charles Guy King Jr., 53, of 539 Jackson Road died Monday in a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 4 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.today.
Survivors include his wife, Trena King; two sons, Jeremiah King of Mobile and Desmond King of Guntersville; parents, Charles Guy and Jane King of Florence; two sisters, Janice Miller of Rogersville and Dot Bowers of Florence; and one brother, Ronnie King of Nashville.

Virginia Kuchler
MADISON - Virginia Kuchler, 60, died Aug. 30 at her home. There was a private memorial service.
Madison Chapel Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, George Kuchler of Madison; one son, George Kuchler Jr. of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa.; two daughters, Sally Shubert of Madison and Georgia Miller of Fairfield, Pa.; one brother, Robert Back of Sparta, N.J.; and four grandchildren.

Clifford Magnusson
ARDMORE, Tenn. - Clifford W. Magnusson, 94, died Tuesday at a Pulaski, Tenn., hospital. Taylor-Ardmore Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Magnusson was a retired farmer and a member of Woodmen of the World and Piney Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bessie W. Magnusson of Ardmore, Tenn.; two sons, Danny Magnusson of Ardmore, Ala., and Mike Magnusson of Ardmore, Tenn.; four daughters, Dorothy M. Brock of Elkmont, Betty M. Reyer and Inogean M. McDonald, both of Ardmore, Ala., and Edwina M. Dean of Gainsville, Ga.; one sister, Hazel M. Robinson of Ardmore, Ala.; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Margaret McCartney
LAKELAND, Fla. - Margaret Bennett McCartney, 76, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Forrest Cemetery in Gadsden.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila McCartney of Huntsville.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Huntsville/Madison County Botanical Garden.

Mary E. Moore
IDER - Mary E. "Tootie Moore, 87, died Monday. The funeral was to be today at 3 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Arland Weldon and the Rev. Chris Hill officiating.
Burial was to be in Fuller Cemetery in Ider.
Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Norton of Ider; one son, William Hill of Flat Rock; one sister, Ethel "Tip Pence of Northbend, Ohio; one brother, Robert L. Christy of Tucson, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Ralph W. Oliver
CROSSVILLE - Ralph Wesley Oliver, 70, died Monday in Crossville. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was to be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Oliver; one daughter, Debra White of Tuscaloosa; two sons, Dennis Oliver of Tennessee and David Oliver of Crossville; one sister, Violet Harris of Henager; two brothers, Alton Oliver of Chattanooga and Cecil Oliver of Ider; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Lou E. Pylant
Lou Ellen Pylant, 87, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Randy Pyle officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery.
Mrs. Pylant was a native of Madison County, retired from Genesco and a member of Maysville Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Fay Golden and Helen Ruth Atchley, both of Huntsville; one son, Robert M. Pylant of Jasper; two sisters, Hallie Kilpatrick of Maysville and Louise Sanford of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willie M. Rogers
ALBERTVILLE - Willie Mae Rogers, 55, died Monday in Anniston. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Church No. 1 with Bros. Carey Sims and Gene Lambert officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Albertville Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include her husband, Jack Rogers of Albertville; four sons, Steven Rogers of Anniston, Jackie Rogers and Bobby Rogers, both of Albertville, and Shon Rogers of Geraldine; four brothers, Daniel D. Tucker Jr., Johnny Tucker and Walter Tucker, all of Guntersville, and Jackie Tucker of Albertville; seven sisters, Bobbie Mathis, Virginia Osborne and Betty Joe Hillburn, all of Pell City, Sadie Light of Guntersville, Beadie Harris and Debra Cameron, both of Albertville, and Barbara Stone of Georgia; and four grandchildren.

Etta M. Walker
Etta Mae Walker, 36, of Huntsville died Sunday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with Bros. Charles O. Marable, Harry Lincoln and L.R. Riddle officiating. Burial will be in New Sharon Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker was a native of Madison County, worked at Sams Club and was a member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Phillip Walker of Huntsville; one daughter, Maegan Walker of Huntsville; two sons, Corey Walker of Huntsville and Shane Walker of Woodville; her mother, Doris Nickelson of Huntsville; three sisters, Nora Stapler of Hazel Green and Brenda Nickelson and Edith Kay Nickelson, both of Huntsville; one brother, Clifford Nickelson of Huntsville; and one niece and one nephew.

Calvin C. Welden
FLAT ROCK - Calvin Coolidge Welden, 74, died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Kerby Funeral Home in Henagar with the Rev. Arland Welden and the Rev. J.P. York officiating. Burial will be in Welden Cemetery in Ider.
Mr. Welden, a lifelong resident of the Cartersville community, was a World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars organization in Trenton, Ga. He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Welden and Connie Welden.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Welden; three sons, Leroy Welden, Carlton Welden and Matthew Welden, all of Flat Rock; two sisters, Mary Clark and Rosie Mullins, both of Flat Rock; one brother, Paul Welden of Flat Rock; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was to be today until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Garland J. Wilbourn
ATHENS - Garland J. Wilbourn, 69, died Tuesday at an Athens hospital. Spry Funeral Home of Athens will announce funeral arrangements.
