Roy Chastain
DAWSON - Roy Chastain, 85, of 4769 County Road 57 died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Gober Funeral Home in Arab.
Burial was in Brookwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Maudell Chastain; one daughter, Nila F. Harvell of Mississippi; one son, Wayne Chastain of Muscle Shoals; two stepdaughters, Cinda Shedore of Oregon and Jane Summerlin of California; two sisters, Orene Dunn and Inez Harris, both of Arab; two brothers, Leon Chastain of California and Oneal Chastain of Florida; and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Patricia B. Darnell
ALBERTVILLE - Patricia Bright Darnell, 68, of 2991 George Wallace Drive died Tuesday at a local hospital. The funeral was today at 11 a.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial was in Marshall Memorial Garden.
Survivors include her husband, Gene Darnell; three daughters, Laura Leak of Arab, Patty Staton of Decatur and Mary Gorrie of Georgia; one son, Terry Darnell of Georgia; two sisters, Annilee Holloway of Arab and Carolyn Doyle of Albertville; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Richard E. Dickson
Richard Edgar "Dick" Dickson, 64, of Huntsville died Tuesday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Dickson earned a degree in physics from the University of Alabama. He moved to Huntsville in 1957 to work at Redstone Arsenal and later served in the Army in Korea during the armistice. He retired in 1988 and continued to serve in the Army National Guard and Reserves, where he was a captain. He was a YMCA scuba instructor emeritus and his hobbies included cave diving, hiking and other outdoor activities.
Survivors include his wife, Adaline Agnes Dickson of Huntsville; one son, Conan Alastair Dickson of Huntsville; and one brother, Samuel Dickson Jr. of North Carolina.
Memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia Society.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jimmy D. Evett Sr.
HARVEST - Jimmy Doyle Evett Sr., 63, died Monday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Shelby Gurley and the Rev. Ruben Gaught officiating.
Burial will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Evett was a native of Madison County and a Butler High School graduate. He retired from the Air Force and the Huntsville Board of Education.
Survivors include his wife, Marchetta L. Evett of Harvest; two daughters, Susan E. Miller of New Market and Katrina E. Norris of Huntsville; one son, Jimmy D. Evett Jr. of Suffolk, Va.; four sisters, Betty Jo Ray and Nancy Newberry, both of Huntsville, Barbara Mance of Hammond, Ind., and Shirley A. Hilliard of Scottsboro; one brother, Jack S. McBride of Huntsville; and five grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Steven R. Gammon
ATHENS - Steven Ross Gammon, 42, of 24787 Wilee Lane died Wednesday at a local hospital. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Herb Glass
SCOTTSBORO - Herb Glass, 70, died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The graveside service was today at 11 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Charles Cobb officiating.
Scottsboro Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Moore Glass; one son, Barry Glass of Scottsboro; and one brother, Dr. Kenneth Glass of Richmond, Va.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Walter L. Goggans
FORT PAYNE - Walter Luther Goggans, 85, died Wednesday. The funeral will be Friday at 2:30 p.m. at W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel in Rainsville with the Rev. Benji Mason, the Rev. Tom Mitchell and the Rev. Winford Ray officiating.
Burial will be in Green s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Goggans was preceded in death by one son, R.A. Goggans. He was a retired grocery store owner and a World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Morrison Goggans of Fort Payne; four daughters, Claudia Howard of Madison, Wanda Dobbs of Rainsville, Nadine Sharp of Huntsville and Frances Whitmire of Fort Payne; one son, Willard Morrison of Fort Payne; two sisters, Josie Galloway of Geraldine and Virginia Gilbert of Henagar; and 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Margaret J. Hargrave
NEW YORK - Margaret Jean Hargrave, 76, of 310 West 56th St. died Sunday at an Ashland, Va., nursing home. The graveside service was to be today at 2 p.m. at Crestview Cemetery in Guntersville.
Carr Funeral Home of Guntersville is in charge of burial.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Hargrave.

James W. Holder
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - James William Holder, 76, of 2400 Pulaski Highway died Tuesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at McCauley Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Thurman Young and the Rev. James Barnes officiating.
Mr. Holder was a native of New Market, a hot steel finisher for Inland Steel Co. and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Lila M. Holder of Fayetteville; one son, James Randall Holder of Fayetteville; four daughters, Linda Marie Warren of Estill Springs, Tenn., Bobbie Joyce Stewart of Fayetteville, Carolyn Nadine Derickson of Rosenburg, Texas, and Janice Vadean Warren of Wheatfield, Ind.; one sister, Bertha Nell Bankston of Dallas, Ga.; one brother, L.D. Holder of Temple, Ga.; and 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Velma A. Hovatter
ANNISTON - Velma A. Hovatter, 81, died Friday at a Gadsden hospital. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home chapel with Dave Brown officiating.
Burial will be in Faith Memorial Park.
Ms. Hovatter was a World War II Air Force veteran and a Seventh-day Adventist.
Survivors include one daughter, Velma Jean Tidball of Wellington; one son, Larry K. Hovetter of Wellington; two sisters, Violet Biocchi and Mary Blackmon, both of Texas; one brother, Daryl Hovatter of Florida; and one grandchild and one niece.

Clarence P. Howard
NEW MARKET - Clarence P. "Sweat" Howard, 68, died today at a local hospital. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Miller Cemetery with Bill Phillips officiating.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of burial.
Survivors include his wife, Cherry C. Howard of New Market; one daughter, Susan H. Vann of New Market; one brother, W.B. Howard of New Market; one sister, Alverene Preston of Huntsville; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 915 Franklin St. in Huntsville, 35801.

Raymond A. Hudson
Raymond Alton Hudson, 95, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. Spry Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Hudson was a native of Madison County and a member of University Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jalie Inez Hudson; and one son, Billy Wayne Hudson.
Survivors include one daughter, Delsie Tribble of Madison; two sons, James S. Hudson and Paul T. Hudson, both of Huntsville; one sister, Ora Sharp of North Carolina; and nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Kenneth D. Martin
HARTSELLE - Kenneth Dewayne Martin, 62, of 524 Shoal Creek Road died Tuesday. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at Price ville Church of Christ with the Rev. Raymond Bush officiating.
A graveside service was to be today at 3:30 p.m. at Huntsville Memory Gardens with Price ville Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Martin was an Army veteran and a member of the church.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Mae Martin of Hartselle; two sons, Gregory Martin of Decatur and Jimmy Martin of Athens; seven brothers, Howard Martin, J.W. Martin, Bobby Martin, Billy Martin, Davie Martin, Donnie Martin and Barry Martin, all of Thatch; two sisters, Peggy Magnusson and Ruby Brooks, both of Thatch; and two grandchildren.

Lela H. Martin
NEW HOPE - Lela Henley Martin, 85, died Wednesday at a Huntsville hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel.
Burial will be in Panquin Cemetery.
Mrs. Martin was a member of Owens Cross Roads Church of God.
Survivors include her husband, Harvey Martin of New Hope; four sons, Bobby Henley and Wade Henley, both of New Hope, Harley Henley of Huntsville and Kenneth Henley of Rochelle, Ill.; one daughter, Patricia Sharp of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Doris Cooper of New Hope; one stepson, James Martin of Grant; three brothers, R.E. Martin, Bill Martin and James Martin, all of Grant; and 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Raymond Mitchell
Raymond Mitchell, 62, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Mr. Mitchell was a native of Buffalo, N.Y., and lived in Huntsville 18 years. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was active in the Knights of Columbus. He was also in the Marine Corps.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Mitchell of Huntsville; one sister, Mary Jane Salansky of Buffalo; three brothers, J. Richard Mitchell of Huntsville, Stephen J. Mitchell of Tampa, Fla., and Paul H. Mitchell of Peninsula, Ohio; and 17 nieces and nephews.
Memorial donations may be made to the church building fund.

Ralph C. Reinhart
Ralph Carlton Reinhart, 76, of Huntsville died Monday at a local veterans home. The memorial service will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Valhalla Funeral Home with the Rev. Abi Carlisle-Wilke officiating.
Inurnment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
Mr. Reinhart was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church, retired from IBM, a World War II Air Force veteran and a 32nd-degree Mason.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Reinhart of Huntsville; two sons, Craig L. Reinhart of Huntsville and Curt N. Reinhart of New Hope; one sister, Lucille Maneval of Phoenix, Ariz.; one brother, Robert Reinhart of Gibson Island, Md.; and five grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1501 9th Ave. N.W., Miami, Fla., 33136.

Hazel M. Robbins
Hazel M. Robbins, 76, of Huntsville died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 9:30 a.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Ralph Langley officiating.
Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery in Tupelo, Miss.
Mrs. Robbins was a member of First Baptist Church. She and her late husband, Berlin J. Robbins Sr., founded Robbins Music Center in 1955. She worked in the store regularly until recently. She was formerly of Tupelo.
Survivors include one son, Berlin "Jack" Robbins Jr. of Huntsville; one daughter, Nancy R. Robinson of Auburn; one sister, Jo Kate Scruggs of Tupelo; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.

Albert M. Swancy
FYFFE - Albert Milton Swancy, 77, died Tuesday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 2 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with the Rev. Melvin Hilley and the Rev. David Hairston officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with W.T. Wilson Funeral Chapel of Rainsville in charge.
Mr. Swancy was a member of the church and Fyffe Masonic Lodge. He was a World War II veteran.
Survivors include one sister, Delora Mae Swancy McCaa of Fyffe; two nieces, Pam Collins of Fyffe and Delores Ann Wigley of Rainsville; and four great-nephews and one great-great-niece.

Larry A. Tinker
DANIA BEACH, Fla. - Larry A. Tinker, 55, died Monday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Brookwood Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, John C. and Reba Tinker of Arab; and one brother, John C. Tinker Jr. of Huntsville.

John A. White
SCOTTSBORO - John A. White, 74, died Sunday at his home. The funeral was to be today at 1 p.m. at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Sumner and the Rev. Jerry Yother officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Wilson White; two daughters, Janie White Carlton of Scottsboro and Becky White Matthews of Hollywood; one sister, Lorene Fogle of Virginia Beach, Va.; and two grandchildren.
