David Allen
BOAZ - The Rev. David Allen, 78, of 6015 County Road 26 died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Albertville.
Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Delma Allen; four daughters, Frankie Franks of Crossville, Jolean Duckett of Boaz, Gail Feemster of Guntersville and Ruby Harris of Albertville; one son, Edward Allen of Boaz; two sisters, Bertha Griffin of Southside and Frances Lively of Georgia; one brother, Clifford Allen of Attalla; and 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Russell Benson
Russell Benson, 71, of Huntsville died Thursday at a local hospital. The memorial service will be Monday at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Guntersville.
Laughlin Service Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Polly Benson of Huntsville; one son, Dirk Russell Benson of Huntsville; three daughters, Joanna Benson of Cleveland, Jill "Betsy" Benson of New York and Laura Kristin Middleton of New Jersey; and two grandchildren.

Martha H. Brown
PENSACOLA, Fla. - Martha Hovater Brown, 71, died Friday at her home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery in Birmingham with Dr. Henry Roberts officiating.
Harper-Morris Funeral Home of Pensacola is in charge of burial.
Mrs. Brown had worked at The Huntsville Times and was co-founder of Anns Studio of Dance in Huntsville. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in Birmingham.
Survivors include her husband, Sterling Jack Brown of Pensacola; one daughter, Ann Brown of Frankewing, Tenn.; one son, Tim Brown of Jackson, Miss.; two sisters, Doris H. Jones and Carolyn H. "Sue" Hanley; two brothers, Louis R. Hovater and Robert E. Hovater; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jerry W. Callahan
NEW HOPE - Jerry W. Callahan, 42, died Friday. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at New Hope Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Gary Paseur officiating.
Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery.
Survivors include his stepmother, Joyce Callahan of New Hope; five sisters, L. Jane Davis, Gaynell Moon and Terasa J. Pinkston, all of New Hope, Annie L. Jenkins of Owens Cross Roads and Bobbie J. Long of Scottsboro; two brothers, James Callahan and Willie Callahan, both of New Hope; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Mary L. Griffin
Mary Lou Griffin, 77, of 1011 Crestline Road died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Briar Fork C.P. Church with the Rev. Theodis Acklin officiating.
Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Janes Lane and Bertha Pickett Armstrong, both of Huntsville; one son, Charles Williams Jr. of Huntsville; one sister, Emma Lou Irvin of Decatur; two brothers, Mitchelle Green Jr. of Indianapolis and Willie Lee Green of Chicago; and four grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church 30 minutes before the funeral.

Gilbert M. Hice
Gilbert Marshall Hice, 75, of Huntsville died Friday at his home. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Faith Chapel Church with Pastor Joel McGraw officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge.
Mr. Hice was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the Pacific. He attended Faith Chapel Church and retired from the government in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Wilson Hice of Huntsville; one son, Larry Gilbert Hice of Huntsville; one daughter, Tammy Hice Jones of Scottsboro; three brothers, Kenneth Hice of Huntsville, Lloyd Hice of Shererville, Ind., and Ola Thomas Hice of Winchester, Tenn.; five sisters, Mildred Williams, Shirley Syler, Lovine Holland, Shelby Jean Arnold and Nannie Lee Fulmer, all of Winchester; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
His body will be at the church 30 minutes before the funeral.

Mary L. Hunt
Mary L. Hunt, 98, of 3803 Crane Drive died Wednesday at her home. The funeral will be today at 1:30 p.m. at Flint Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Ross L. Payton officiating.
Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery in Ryland with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Mrs. Hunt was a native of Madison County.
Survivors include one daughter, Idissie H. Maston of Huntsville; and one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.

Treva Mathias
Treva Mathias, 85, of Huntsville died Saturday at a local hospital. Laughlin Service Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.
Survivors include one son, William Mathias of Fayetteville, Ga.; one daughter, Mildred Bradin of Baltimore, Md.; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Alvin McCrary Sr.
Alvin McCrary Sr., 68, of 3234 Delacado Drive died Thursday at home. The funeral will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Pine Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Dave McGlathery officiating.
Burial will be in Indian Creek Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine K. McCrary; four daughters, Constance Whitman, Sheila McCrary, Vivian Barnes and Alisha McCrary, all of Huntsville; four sons, Erwin McCrary and Alvin McCrary, both of Huntsville, Ronald McCrary of Austell, Ga., and Virgil McCrary of Birmingham; three sisters, Virginia Harness of Chicago, Lucille Garner and Mattie Moore, both of Harvest; one brother, Eldridge McCrary of Huntsville; and 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Bennie F. Miller
BOAZ - Bennie F. Miller, 68, of 2600 Beulah Road died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 3 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Carr Funeral Home of Boaz in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Miller; one daughter, Connie K. Kohn of Huntsville; one son, Bradley K. Miller of Snead; and three sisters, Margaret Gilliland of Tennessee, Allison Miller of Florida and Betty Bolding of Albertville.
His body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Mary E. Montgomery
GREENVILLE, Miss. - Mary Ellen Montgomery, 84, died Friday in Greenville. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Athens with Dwight Raburn officiating.
Burial will be in Madison City Cemetery.
Mrs. Montgomery was a native of Madison County, a resident of Athens from 1967 to 1995, was a member of New Oakland Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Montgomery.

Coreney Powell
FALKVILLE - Coreney Powell, 92, died Saturday at a Hartselle hospital. The funeral will be Monday at at 2 p.m. at Powells Chapel Church with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.
Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle in charge.
Mrs. Powell was a farmer and a homemaker. She was a native of Cullman and was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Powell; and one son, Hollis Powell.
Survivors include four sons, Hubert Powell of Decatur, Edward Powell and Jimmy Powell, both of Falkville, and Noah Powell of Georgia; two daughters, Frances Sandlin and Virginia Edge, both of Falkville; one sister, Ruby Lee of Birmingham; and eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be today from 6 to 9 p.m at the funeral home.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.

Jesse L. Reed
FLINTVILLE, Tenn. - Jesse L. Reed, 75, of Hopson Road died Friday at a Fayetteville nursing home. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Rex Manley officiating.
Burial will be in Shady Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Reed was a native of Madison County, a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church and a retired mechanic.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Barnett Reed of Flintville; three sons, Cecil Reed of Dallas, and Kerry Reed and Terry Reed, both of Flintville; three daughters, Doris Schwartz and Sandra Robertson, both of Flintville, and Sherry Nesbitt of Irvin, Texas; one half-brother, Frank Brasmer of Pennsylvania; three sisters, Freddy Jo Hickerson of Elora, Tenn., Betty Beckman of New Market and Jane Brooks of Huntsville; and 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Henry L. Rockhill
ATHENS - Henry Leith Rockhill, 80, died Friday at his home. There will be no funeral.
Spry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Rockhill lived in Madison and Limestone counties for the last 18 years and was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.
Survivors include one daughter, Madelyn Camp of Kingston, Ga.; three sons, Robert C. Rockhill of Newburgh, Ind., Guy Leith Rockhill of Brownsboro and Dale Manship Rockhill of Athens; one brother, Paul Rockhill of McAllen, Texas; and nine grandchildren and one geat-grandchild.

Madie R. Smith
Madie Roberts Smith, 76, of 2314 Hammonds Ave. died Wednesday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Church Street C.P. Church with the Rev. Henry Bradford Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in Northside Cemetery with Royal Funeral Home in charge.
Survivors include two sons, Kenneth Roberts Smith and Michael David Smith, both of Huntsville; one stepson, Carl E. Davis of St. Louis; four sisters, Mary L. Roberts of Warrento, Ga., Margaret R. Chark of Catskill, N.Y., Sue R. Potts of Atlanta and Emily Catherine R. Beden of New York City; one brother, James C. Roberts Jr. of Atlanta; and four grandchildren.
Her body will be at the church one hour before the funeral.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Willene B. Thomas
SCOTTSBORO - Willene B. Thomas, 68, died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Higgins officiating.
Burial will be in Pinehaven Memorial Gardens in Hollywood.
Survivors include one daughter, Paulette Keller of Scottsboro; two sons, Ricky Thomas and Kenneth Thomas, both of Scottsboro; three sisters, Pauline Haymon of Sylvania, Pansy Roberts of Fort Payne and Joy Faulkner of Texas; one brother, Jack Bailey of New Jersey; and two granchildren.

Ernest W. Young
FAYETTEVILLE, Tenn. - Ernest W. Young, 80, of Green Street died Friday at a local hospital. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville.
Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery.
Mr. Young was a native of Benton, Tenn., and retired from Regional Transit Authority.
Survivors include his wife, Nina Osborne Young of Fayetteville; two sons, Larry Patrick Young of Huntsville and Robert Young of Fayetteville; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
