Frank C. Collier
76, retired farmer, Monsanto
maintenance mechanic

Funeral for Frank C. Collier, 76, of Priceville will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Cecil Berry and the Rev. Eric Mattox officiating.

Burial will be in Collier Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Collier died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Morgan County to Charles F. and Lillian Thompson Collier Sr. He was a retired farmer and maintenance mechanic at Monsanto, where he worked for 27 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a deacon and lifelong member of Cave Springs Baptist Church. He was the widower of Hazel Maude Pence Collier.

He is survived by two sons, Tommy Collier and Jerry Collier, both of Priceville; one brother, Jack Collier of Decatur; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joe Collier, Jimmy Sivley, Alton Alexander, Charles Speaks, Glenn Thompson and Pete Ivey.

Rebel Allen Howell
97, retired teacher

MOULTON -- Funeral for Rebel Allen Howell, 97, of Moulton will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Moulton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Billy Stephenson and the Rev. Darryl Wood officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at at Elliott Funeral Home.

Mrs. Howell died Wednesday, March 8, 2000, at National Health Care Center in Moulton. She was born Feb. 14, 1903, in Gleason, Tenn. and was a retired schoolteacher.

Mrs. Howell is survived by her sons, Tom Howell of Cherry Valley, Calif. and Billy Howell of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bob Jackson, Steve Howell, Jack Howell, Craig Howell, Wesley Howell, Don Jackson, Wayne Gentry and Charles Barrett.

Eunice Elga 'Shirley' Mulvey

Funeral arrangements for Eunice Elga "Shirley" Mulvey, 76, of Chicago, formerly of Decatur, who died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2000, in Chicago, will be announced by Roselawn Funeral Home.

Friederike R. Sanders
72, homemaker

MOULTON -- Graveside service for Friederike R. Sanders, 72, of Moulton will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Oakhill Cemetery in Griffin, Ga., with the Rev. Winston Harmon officiating.

Local arrangements are being handled by Elliott Funeral Home. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sanders died Thursday, March 9, 2000, at National Health Care Center. She was born June 13, 1927, in Neusattl, Germany, (Czechoslovakia). She immigrated to the United States from Germany in 1967 and later moved to Moulton in 1975. The widow of Maurice A. Sanders of Griffin, she was a Catholic.

She is survived by one son, Max Sanders of Moulton; and two grandchildren.

Candyce Dawn Buchanan
Memorial service for Candyce Dawn Buchanan, 29, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Bruce Hose officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Ms. Buchanan died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at her home. She was born May 11, 1970, in Decatur. She had one son, Zachary Chet Buchanan Lawrimore, who was adopted by her mother and stepfather, Dorothy Carol and Melvin Lawrimore of Decatur. She was the granddaughter of the late Betty Womack and John Wallace Hose Sr.

She is survived by her son, mother and stepfather; her father, Ron Buchanan of Decatur; one sister, Laura Leigh Cooper of Decatur; and her grandparents, Zella Jean Hose of Montgomery and Al Buchanan of Somerville.

Elijah 'E.J.' Howard
65, retired grocery manager

ATHENS -- Funeral for Elijah "E.J." Howard, 65, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Bob Waldron officiating.

Burial was to be in Hester's Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Howard died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1934, in Kentucky. He was a member of Eastside Church of Christ and a retired grocery store manager from Food World in Athens.

He is survived by his wife, Helen Davis Howard; four brothers, Stanley Howard of London, Ky., Eugene Howard of Bledsoe, Ky., Donald Ray Howard of Helton, Ky., and Owen Howard Jr. of Kentucky; and three sisters, Helen Harris of Big Laurel, Ky., Dora Brock of Fort Wayne, Ind., and Thelma Taylor of Baxter, Ky.

Pallbearers will be Allen Boyd, Dwight Mooneyham, David Brock, Phillip Christopher, Brad Christopher and Joe Willis.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Athens.

The Rev. Braxton Kenneth Parker
57, former minister

TRINITY -- Funeral for the Rev. Braxton Kenneth Parker, 57, of Moulton will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pullen, the Rev. Ray Phillips and the Rev. Keith Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Dancy's Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Parker died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Carraway Methodist Medical Center in Birmingham. He was born May 18, 1942, in Lawrence County to Dudley Hayes Parker and Omie Florence Parker. He served in the U.S. Army and was a former minister and a member of Hatton Masonic Lodge No. 879.

He is survived by his wife, Mamie L. Parker; three sons, Brandon Parker, Michael Parker and Kenneth Parker, all of Hatton; three stepsons, Tommy Parker and Steve Parker, both of Trinity, and Terry Parker of Bessemer; two stepdaughters, Shelia Speake of Guntersville and Larissa Dawn Parker of Trinity; two brothers, Dewey Parker of Hatton and Raphael Parker of Russellville; seven grandchildren; and nine step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Jones, Harland Jones, Gene Parker, Edward Parker, Howard McDonald and Vernon Parker.

Joe Marvin Presnell
85, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Joe Marvin Presnell, 85, of Athens was to be today at 11 a.m. at Reunion Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Presnell died Wednesday, March 15, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. He was born Feb. 24, 1915, in Limestone County. He was a retired farmer and a member of Reunion Church of Christ. He was the brother of the late Levonia Presnell, Lela Bowers, Tillman Presnell and Earnest Presnell.

He is survived by two brothers, Clarence Presnell and Leo Presnell, both of Athens.

William O. Walker
80, retired millwright

PENSACOLA, Fla. -- Funeral for William O. Walker, 80, of Pensacola was March 2 at Faith Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Sanders officiating.

Burial was in Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville.

Mr. Walker died Feb. 28, 2000, in Pensacola. He was born Jan. 2, 1920, in Claiborne. A resident of Pensacola for the past 23 years, he was a World War II veteran and worked for Daniels Construction as a millwright for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Walker; two daughters, Doris Clark of Danville and Joan Alexander of Hartselle; one stepdaughter, Virginia Stewart of Pensacola; one brother, Clifford Walker of Huntsville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandsons.

Pallbearers were Waymon Alexander, Don Clark, Phillip Smith, DeWayne Stewart, Larry Leach, Claude Adams Sr. and James Leach.

Robert Lavon Allison
45, chicken catcher for Goldkist

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Robert Lavon Allison, 45, of Vinemont will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Merritt officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Allison died Friday, March 17, 2000, in Cullman County. He was born Oct. 24, 1954, in Morgan County. He was the son of the late Harvey Bart Allison and the brother of the late Dean Allison. He was a chicken catcher for Gold Kist.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy Allison; his mother; Ina Allison of Vinemont; one son, Ty Werner Allison of Vinemont; one daughter, Amanda Ann Allison of Vinemont; three brothers, Donald Allison and Phene Allison of Crane Hill and Arvel Allison of Vinemont; and one sister, Jean Wells of Trinity.

Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.

Thelma Yarbrough Fox
85, homemaker

GADSDEN -- Graveside service for Thelma Yarbrough Fox, 85, of Priceville will be today at 2 p.m. at Mount Vernon Cemetery with the Rev. Anthony Copeland and the Rev. Charles Ervin officiating and Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Fox died Friday, March 17, 2000, at the home of her sister, Eloise Lott in Priceville. She was born Oct. 13, 1914, in DeKalb County. She was a resident of Etowah County most of her life and a resident of Priceville for the past two years. She was the widow of Loren Fox and the mother of the late L.W. Fox. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

She is survived by her sister, Eloise Lott of Priceville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Members of Immanuel Baptist Church will be pallbearers.

Members of Hospice of the Valley of Decatur will be honorary pallbearers.

Instead of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley in Decatur.

Willoughby Goodwin
71, retired welder

GARDENDALE -- Funeral for Willoughby Goodwin, 71, of Fultondale will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Fultondale First Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Coggins and the Rev. Ross Langford officiating.

Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Oakwood Memorial Gardendale Chapel. The body will be at the church from 1 p.m. until time of service.

Mr. Goodwin died Friday, March 17, 2000, in Cooper Green Hospital in Birmingham.

He was born Jan. 6, 1929, in Morgan County. He was a member of Fultondale Baptist Church, where he was an inactive deacon. He was a member of the Gardendale Masonic Lodge, and he was a retired welder of Thompson Fabricators. He was married to Ethelyne Prince Goodwin for 50 years.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, Roger Goodwin of Tarrant, Randy Goodwin of Duncanville and Geoffrey Goodwin of Hayden; one sister, Elnora Skinner of Falkville; and two brothers, Norris Goodwin of Cullman and Tommie Brenner of Hartselle; and five grandchildren.

Friends will be pallbearers.
