Funeral for Frank M. Couch, 69, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Penn officiating.

Burial will be in Bald Knob Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Couch died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 1930, in Lawrence County to William and Eunice Couch. He was a member of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church and retired from Champion International Corp. in Courtland, where he worked 17 years.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Couch; one stepson, Randy Blelewof Tanner; one stepdaughter, Rhonda Blelew Burns of Decatur; one brother, William D. Couch of Decatur; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Robert E. Dumas, Danny Dumas, Eugene Walters Jr., Coy Rasco, Gerald Byrd and Bob White.

Vestie Lorene Drinkard
83, hairdresser

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Vestie Lorene Drinkard, 83, of Falkville will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Eva Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Robinson, the Rev. Raymond Stinson and the Rev. Gary Driver officiating.

Burial will be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Drinkard died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at her home. She was born July 13, 1916, in Morgan County to George Washington and Delia Hudgins Drinkard. She was a hairdresser and a member of Eva Baptist Church.

She is survived by three sisters, Martha Fortenberry of Decatur, Annie Ellenburg of Double Springs and Omerlean Hopper of Falkville.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Marjorie Naomi Ferguson
74, homemaker

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Marjorie Naomi Ferguson, 74, of Athens will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with Bill Irby officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ferguson died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at her home. She was born April 20, 1925, in Elkmont. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, Phillip Ferguson and Mike Ferguson, both of Athens; one brother, Buddy Reece of Athens; one sister, Mavis Collier of Decatur; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Josh Ferguson, Barry Reece, Billy Bolton, Michael Ferguson, Vance Bolton, Matthew Ferguson and Brian Reece.

John Wayne Franklin
55, business owner

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for John Wayne Franklin, 55, of Neel will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Roger White and the Rev. Wendell Callahan officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Franklin died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 17, 1945, in Morgan County to John Wesley and Hazel Parker Franklin. He was a lifelong resident of Neel, a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church in Hartselle, and the owner and operator of John's Snack and Vending.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Franklin; two daughters, Dana Franklin Adams of Hartselle and Valerie Franklin Sapp of Danville; his mother, Hazel Parker of Hartselle; his father and stepmother, John and Pat Franklin of Danville; one sister, Janet Franklin Reynolds of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Christian, Seth Ballew Jr., Ronald McCormick, Jimmy McAbee, David Franklin, Milford Cobbs, Buddy Walker and Jerry Hill.

Katlyne Annette Montgomery
Infant

Graveside service for infant Katlyne Annette Montgomery of Moulton will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The infant died Saturday, March 18, 2000, the day of her birth, at Decatur General Hospital.

She is survived by her parents, Michael and Cassandra Montgomery of Moulton; her grandparents, Larry and Joan Terry of Cullman and Anthony and Tina Montgomery of Town Creek; and her great-grandparents, Jewel Terry of Moulton and Wallace and Lowetta Montgomery of Town Creek.

Dominick F. Pena
65, EMI driver

Funeral for Dominick F. Pena, 65, of Decatur will be tonight at 7 at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Brock officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mr. Pena died Saturday, March 18, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Michigan to Antonio and Edith Ball Pena. He was a member of Riverview Baptist Chapel and worked as a pickup and delivery driver for Elector Motors Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Pena; four sons, Carl Richard Pena of Decatur, Nicholas Anthony Pena of Cullman, Robert Eugene Pena of Temperance, Mich., and Henry Gene Clemons of Hartselle; one daughter, Lisa Nicole Pena of Decatur; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Fred William Phillips
77, L&N Railroad retiree

ATHENS -- Funeral for Fred William Phillips, 77, of Elkmont will be Wednesday at noon at Elkmont Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. O.A. Edmond officiating.

Burial will be Thatch-Mann Cemetery with People's Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 7 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Phillips died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Limestone County. He was retired from L&N Railroad Co.

He is survived by his wife, Addie Smith Phillips; one son, Thomas Phillips of Decatur; one daughter, Gloria Jones of Nashville; two brothers, Will Ed Phillips of Elkmont and David Phillips of Louisville, Ky.; one sister, Anna P. Horton of Athens; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth Elaine Adams
43, retired machine operator

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Elizabeth Elaine Adams, 43, of Hartselle will be today at 3:30 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Wendell Callahan and the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Cemetery.

Mrs. Adams died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Oct. 18, 1956, in Cook County, Ill., to Clinton J. and Berta N. Ledlow Simmons.

She was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, the sister of the late David Simmons. She was a retired machine operator for General Electric after 21 years.

She is survived by one son, Ashley Dale Adams of Hartselle; her parents of Hartselle; and two sisters, Carol Hill and Judy Simmons, both of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Bo Kalor, Billy Mason, Bobby Walker, Nathan Hill, Wayne Stiles and Teddy Mayfield.

Lynda Sue Carr

Funeral for Lynda Sue Carr, 47, of Trinity will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Mike Nix, O.D. Bowling and Mike Free officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Carr died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Morgan County to Roy D. Free Sr. and Marjorie Louise Free.

She was a member of Beltline Church of Christ and co-owner of Beltline Hose and Rubber Co.

She is survived by her husband, James Carr; two sons, Scott Ogles of Moulton and "Lucky" Stewart of Decatur; one stepson, Jimmy B. Carr of Panama City, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Tammie Hartsfield of Crawfordville, Fla., and Stacie Carr of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Doug Free of Trinity and Mark Free of Miami; two sisters, Pam Cowart of Hartselle and JoAnn Harris of Trinity; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lucky Stewart, Scott Ogles, Doug Free, Mark Free, Paul Harris and Jimmy Carr.

Ester Leona Hall
78, retired waitress

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ester Leona Hall, 78, of Athens will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Greg Patrick officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hall died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born March 12, 1922, in Limestone County. She attended Blackburn Road Baptist Church. She was a retired waitress from Rebel Cafeteria. She was the mother of the late William Jerry Elkins.

She is survived by one son, Harold Wayne Elkins of Huntsville; one daughter, Betty Cowley of Athens; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Dwight Schrimsher, Paul Schrimsher, Keith Schrimsher, Michael Elkins, Barry Elkins and Jay Elkins.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Athens.

Gwen Gayle Haney
53, NASA security specialist

ATHENS -- Funeral for Gwen Gayle Haney, 53, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Tanner with the Rev. Ray McElhaney officiating.

Burial was to be in Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Haney died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at her home. She was born Jan. 1, 1947, in Limestone County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tanner and a security specialist at NASA in Huntsville. She was the daughter of the late James Wood and mother of the late Jimmy Don Haney Jr.

She is survived by one son, Alan Haney of Athens; one daughter, Tracey Flanagan of Rogersville; her mother, Elizabeth Wood of Athens; one brother, Danny Wood of Athens; six sisters, Judy Thrasher, Kathy Reece, Jeanette Jolly, Darlene Evans, Lisa Cooper and Amy Shehorn, all of Athens; and one grandchild. Pallbearers will be Larry Thrasher, Larry Jolly, Larry Shehorn, Jim Reece, Perry Cooper and Bill Evans. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Athens.

Cora Johnson
95, homemaker

Funeral for Cora Johnson, 95, of Decatur will be Thursday at noon at Pentecostal House of Prayer with the Rev. A.C. Strong officiating.

Burial will be in Calvary Memorial Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the funeral.

Mrs. Johnson died Friday, March 17, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born March 30, 1904, in Lawrence County, to Bill and Mary Lou Metcalf Johnson. She was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostal House of the Prayer and served as the oldest member of Mothers Board.

She is survived by two sisters, Angie L. Burt of North Courtland and Ruthie Mae Brown of Decatur. Pallbearers will be Samuel Foster , Kenneth Crutch, Romero Jones, Don Byrd, Willie Stover and Richard Jones.

Ruby Mae Morgan
69, homemaker

HALEYVILLE -- Funeral for Ruby Mae Morgan, 69, of Addison was Monday at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home with the Rev. Clarence Price and the Rev. Laverle Buckelew officiating.

Burial was in Fairview No. 2 Cemetery.

Mrs. Morgan died Saturday, March 18, 2000, at home. She was born Nov. 14, 1930, in Yazoo City, Miss., to William and Mary Weeks Day. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Max Morgan; two sons, Rickey Morgan and James Morgan, both of Addison; two daughters, Dorothy Williams of Logan and Phyllis Alexander of Addison; one brother, James Day of East Prarie, Mo.; two sisters, Rosie Lee Pankey of Addison and Viola Gehling of Yuma, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
