TUSCUMBIA -- Graveside service for Cleveland Orr Jr., 54, of Brooklyn, N.Y., formerly of Courtland, will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Church Cemetery in Town Creek with the Rev. Jessie Little officiating and Thompson and Son Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Orr died Friday, March 10, 2000, in Brooklyn. He was born Sept. 27, 1945, in Courtland to Cleveland and Ester Mason Orr. He was a caretaker for the New York City Housing Authority and a member of Cathedral of Deliverance Church in Brooklyn.

He is survived by his wife, Valerie Orr; three sons, Kyle Orr, Noland Orr and Andre Orr, all of Brooklyn; four daughters, Lisandra Orr, Tameka Orr, Tawanna Orr and C.C. Orr, all of Brooklyn; his mother; two sisters, Birelee Bryant of Dallas, Texas, and Tobi Frazier Orr of North Courtland; and eight grandchildren.

Miguel Andres Romero

ATHENS -- Funeral arrangements for Miguel Andres Romero, 1, of Athens, who died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.

Florence Terry
98, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Florence Terry, 98, of Madison will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Mark Wakefield and the Rev. Jerry Knight officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Terry died Sunday, March 19, 2000, at Madison Manor Nursing Home. She was born June 4, 1901, in Cullman County to Fount and Callie Garrett. She was a homemaker and the wife of the late Monroe Terry.

She is survived by two sons, O'Neal Terry of Moulton and Almon Terry of Madison; one daughter, Estelle Smith of Decatur; one sister, Bessie Sherrill of Muscle Shoals; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Homer Paten 'Bill' Williams
89, retired police officer, bailiff

Graveside service for Homer Paten "Bill" Williams, 89, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Forest Crest Cemetery in Birmingham with the Rev. Mark Tolbert officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Williams died today, March 21, 2000, at his home. He was born April 22, 1910, in Amory, Miss., to William and Maude Bourland Williams. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. He was a retired police officer with the Birmingham Police Department and a retired bailiff with the U.S. District Court and Judge Seybourn Lynne. He has been a resident of Decatur since 1988.

He was a lifetime member of the Birmingham Masonic Lodge number 757, the Birmingham Woodlawn York Rite Bodies, a lifetime member of Birmingham Zamora Shrine Temple, a lifetime and charter member of the Birmingham Fraternal Order of Police Lodge number 1 and the Alabama Peace Officers Association.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife, Mary Drenon Williams; two daughters, Beverly Jo Gurley and Renee Booker, both of Birmingham; two stepsons, Dan Stanford of Machias Port, Maine, and Don Stanford of Decatur; one sister, Eva Chandler of Decatur, Ga.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ben Robinson, Ed Gilbert, Larry Tuck, Melvin Rohling, David Smitherman and Kirby Sevier.

Judge Lynne's former law clerks will be honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Lynda Sue Carr

Funeral for Lynda Sue Carr, 47, of Trinity was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Mike Nix, O.D. Bowling and Mike Free officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Carr died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Sept. 22, 1952, in Morgan County to Roy D. Free Sr. and Marjorie Louise Free. She was a member of Beltline Church of Christ and co-owner of Beltline Hose and Rubber Co. She is survived by her husband, James Carr; two sons, Scott Ogles of Moulton and "Lucky" Stewart of Decatur; one stepson, Jimmy V. Carr of Panama City, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Tammie Hartsfield of Crawfordville, Fla., and Stacie Carr of Tallahassee, Fla.; two brothers, Doug Free of Trinity and Mark Free of Miami; two sisters, Pam Cowart of Hartselle and JoAnn Harris of Trinity; three grandchildren; and six step-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Lucky Stewart, Scott Ogles, Doug Free, Mark Free, Paul Harris and Jimmy Carr.

Pete Dubois

ATHENS -- Funeral for Pete Dubois, 94, of Athens will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Dubois died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at his home.

Other arrangements will be announced by the funeral home.

Walter Edwin Farley
71, Ford Motor Co. retiree

MOULTON -- Funeral for Walter Edwin Farley, 71, of Moulton will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Moulton Baptist Church with the Rev. Darryl Wood and the Rev. Elmer Fowler officiating.

Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery with Parkway Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Farley died Monday, March 20, 2000, at his home. He was born Dec. 7, 1928, in Lawrence County to Walter and Minnie Farley. He was retired from Ford Motor Co. and was a member of Moulton Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, I.V. Farley; two daughters, Joyce Melson of Moulton and Deborah Heaps of Fort Payne; one brother, Eugene Farley of Decatur; three sisters, Edna Reeves and Sue Farley, both of Riverside, Calif., and Elrea Hawkins of Decatur; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Donald Armstrong, Talmadge Riddle, Jerry Carroll, John Caspers, Charles Barrett and Carl Posey.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Verl Judene Golightly

ATHENS -- Funeral arrangements for Verl Judene Golightly, 70, of Athens, who died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be announced by McConnell Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gonzales died Monday, March 20, 2000, in Decatur. She was born Sept. 18, 1943, in California. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, David Lee Gonzales of Hartselle; two daughters, Robyne Lynn Gonzales and Tannys Gonzales, both of Hartselle; one sister, Mary Kurby of California; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Patricia Ann Massey
47, material cutter

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Patricia Ann Massey, 47, of Somerville will be Thursday at Peck Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald Blevins officiating.

Burial will be in Pleasant Point Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Massey died Tuesday, March 21, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 26, 1953, in Morgan County to William Boyd and Donna Mae Ferguson Bramlett. She was a Baptist and material cutter for Lakeland Industries, which makes disposable garments. She is survived by one daughter, Tammy Renea Shelton of Somerville; four brothers, Curtis Bramlett, Kevin Bramlett and Doyle Bramlett, all of Huntsville, and Troy Bramlett of Hazel Green ; two sisters, Margo Freeman of Decatur and Janice Campbell of Huntsville; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Roy A. "R.A." Campbell, Roy Allen Campbell, Billy Denson, Jerry Lee Freeman II, Kenneth Massey and James Allen Motes.

Miguel Andres Romero

ATHENS -- Funeral for Miguel Andres Romero, 1, of Athens will be Thursday at noon at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Allen officiating.

Burial will be in Sandlin Cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A rosary will be said at 5 p.m.

The child died Monday, March 20, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born March 2, 1999, in Limestone County.

He is survived by his parents, Julian and Kristie Romero of Athens; one brother, Julian Jordon Romero of Athens; his grandparents, Donna Butler and Mike Butler, both of Athens, and Felipa Seaz De Romero of Mexico; and his great-grandfather, Alfred Berzett of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Taylor, Jesus Ramos, Sammy Berzett and Alfredo Romero.

Robert George Best
77, tool and die maker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Robert George Best, 77, of Dawsonville, Ga., formerly of Athens, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Don Osborne officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Best died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at home. He was born April 25, 1922, in Chicago. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of Market Street Church of Christ and retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration as a tool and die maker. He was the widower of Louise Davis Best and the brother of the late Glenn R. Best.

He is survived by one son, Roger Best of Tuscalooa; one daughter, Gail B. Turner of Dawsonville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Best, Brett Turner, David Belisle, Ozro Flanagan and Lifford Smith.

Memorials may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 1270 Winchester Parkway, Suite 100, Smyrna, GA 30080.

Gracie Brown

Funeral arrangements for Gracie Brown, 86, of Decatur, who died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at South Morgan Healthcare Center, will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.

Carolyn Jeanette Drinkard
60, Morgan County resident

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Carolyn Jeanette Drinkard, 60, of Eva will be Friday at Peck Funeral Home at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Raymond Stinson officiating.

Burial will be in Oden Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Drinkard died Wednesday, March 22, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Morgan County to Sam W. and Eva Virginia Lovell Drinkard. She was a member of Oden Ridge Baptist Church.

She is survived by one brother, Bobby Wayne Drinkard of Eva; and one half sister, Desmer Finnegan of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Bennie Drinkard, Gary Drinkard, Charles McNabb, Roland Pridmore, Glenis Seals and J.R. Thompson.
