MOULTON -- Funeral for Vera Nell Flannagin, 53, of Moulton will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Amos Hood officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Flannagin died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Nov. 18, 1946, in Moulton. She was a bus driver.

She is survived by her father, Draton Borden of Moulton; her mother, Adean Borden of Moulton; and one sister, Fay Jones of Moulton.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Miller, Justin Scoggin, Tim Lipscomb, Hillard Borden, Hershel LouAllen and Patrick Mason.

Arthur Emil Hankey
76, mill operator

Funeral for Arthur Emil Hankey, 76, of Cullman will be today at 3 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Harold Hermetz officiating and Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Cullman City Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Hankey died Friday, April 21, 2000, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Biloxi, Miss. He was born July 11, 1923, in Cullman to Ernest and Theresa Hankey. He was a mill operator for McLouth Steel and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by one son, Arthur Fred Hankey of Cullman; four daughters, Mildred Fredonia Asherbranner of Hartselle, Margaret Theresa Leigeber of Pell City, Mary Louise Golden of Fairview and Marilyn Ruth George of Eva; one sister, Frances Ruth Yates of Cullman; and seven grandchildren.

Helen Gover Mann
66, retiree

SMYRNA, Ga. -- Funeral for Helen Gover Mann, 66, of Smyrna, Ga., was Saturday at Castellaw Funeral Home in Smyrna with the Rev. Clayton Burchell officiating. Burial was in Crest Lawn Cemetery in Atlanta.

Mrs. Mann died Thursday, April 20, 2000, in Smyrna. She was born Jan. 1, 1934, in Madison County to Homer and Althea Gover.

She was a former resident of Limestone County and was retired from Owens-Corning Co. in Georgia.

She was the wife of the late Charles Mann Sr. and the sister of the late H.T. Gover Jr., King Gover, Raymond Gover, Violet Malone, Joy Boyd, Villa Hardwick and Dorothy Eubanks.

She is survived by four sons, Jimmy Adams of Jonesboro, Ga., Mark Henderson of Athens, Marty Henderson of Niceville, Fla., and Charles Mann Jr. of Canton Ga.; two sisters, Myrtle Burchell of Chattanooga and Mary Ann Head of Marietta, Ga.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Steve Gover, Charles Gover, Garry Linley, Jack Burchell, Sonny Smith and Chris Ostergard.

Hubert Leon 'Chicken Man' May
76, retired farmer

MOULTON -- Funeral for Hubert Leon "Chicken Man" May, 76, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Keith Jones officiating.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.

Mr. May died Friday, April 21, 2000, in Moulton. He was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Morgan County. He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Tinnie Melinda Franklin May; seven daughters, Jewell Norris, Joann Alexander, Sandra Dean and Brenda Glover, all of Moulton, Patricia Jane Morton of Cullman, Glenda Wilhite of Trinity and Shirley Kelley of Hillsboro; three sons, Brice Clenton May and Curtis May, both of Moulton, and Clenton May of Trinity; five sisters, Shirley Harris, Irene Minor and Joyce Wilhite, all of Decatur, Louise Hargrove of Tennessee and Ruby Hazel Morris of Hartselle; three brothers, Toby May and James May, both of Decatur, and Hershel May of Hartselle; 34 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joey May, Jimmy Ray Norris, Bobby Wilhite, Charles Thomas, Anthony Norris, Randy Alexander, Johnny Morton and Mike Morgan.

Annie Pearl Cain McDonald
83, retired nurse

Funeral for Annie Pearl Cain McDonald, 83, of Decatur will be Tuesday at noon at St. Stephen Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. McDonald died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, at West Morgan Health Care Center. She was born March 25, 1917, in Morgan County to Melvin and Gertrude Cain.

She worked at Baugh Wiley Smith Hospital and Decatur General Hospital during her career as a nurse. She was a member of St. Stephen, where she served on the Mothers Board and in the Missionary Society. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Elizabeth Chapter 40. She was the wife of the late Leonard McDonald.

She is survived by one daughter, Lorene Roberts of Decatur; one brother, Melvin Cain Sr. of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Joe Sandifer, Larry McDonald, Sonny Caudle, Curtis Fletcher, Cecil Ratliff and Ronny Jarman.

Louise Pittman Minton-Foster
77, retired teacher

Funeral for Louise Pittman Minton-Foster , 77, of Decatur will be Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Randon H. Jackson officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Tallahassee Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Minton-Foster died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Gadsden County, Fla., to William and Kate Pittman. She was a retired teacher of Decatur City Schools, having taught at West Decatur Elementary and Austin High. She was a 1944 graduate of Florida State University. A charter member of St. Andrew, she was the wife of the late Richard Minton.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Charles W. Foster of Downer's Grove, Ill.; one daughter, Dr. Ginger Minton Marine of Ellijay, Ga.; two brothers, Charles Pittman of Tallahassee and Dr. Albert Pittman of Surfside Beach, S.C.; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Walt Harris, Sonny McMahan, Jane Gross, Dan Watt, Tom Meier and Bill Braddock.

The family requests that memorials be made to Austin High School Alumni Foundation, P.O. Box 1297, Decatur, AL 35602, or charity.

Ernest E. Usery
82, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ernest E. Usery, 82, of Athens will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Hinman officiating.

Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Usery died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 20, 1917, in Limestone County.

He was a retired farmer and a veteran of World War II, in which he served as an infantry soldier. He received the Bronze Star in the European African Middle Eastern Theater and a ribbon bearing three Bronze Battle Stars.

He is survived by one daughter, Alice Usery of Athens; six sons, Curtis Usery of Lester, Joseph Usery of Cairo, Ga., Roy Usery of Chancellor, Lynn Usery of Social Circle, Ga., and Dale Usery and Glyn Usery, both of Athens; one stepdaughter, Dorothy Motter of Athens; one stepson, Edward Bloodworth of Madison; two brothers, Vernon Usery of Elkmont and Junior Usery of Athens; one sister, Allie Willis of Athens; 24 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be his six sons.

Ina Sue Bailey
66, homemaker

GARDENDALE -- Funeral for Ina Sue Bailey, 66, of Hartselle will be Tuesday at noon at Oakwood Memorial Gardendale Chapel.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5:30 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bailey died Sunday, April 23, 2000, at Gardendale Nursing Home. She was born April 15, 1934, in Marshall County. She was a homemaker and the widow of Verlon Bailey.

She is survived by three sons, Hayward Bailey of Gardendale, Davey Bailey of Warrior and Lane Bailey of Birmingham; her father, Elbert Lumsden of Hartselle; two sisters, Lenora Yarbrough and Barbara Schonebaum, both of Hartselle; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Mollie Henderson

Funeral arrangements for Mollie Henderson of Decatur, who died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center, will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.

Thomas Eugene Jackson
65, retired service station attendant

ATHENS -- Funeral for Thomas Eugene Jackson, 65, of Athens will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Steve Ridinger officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Jackson died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at Hillside Hospital in Pulaski, Tenn. He was born July 9, 1934, in Limestone County to Mahlon and Lola Jackson. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a retired service station attendant at Park and Speake Gulf. He was the father of the late Tommy Jackson and the brother of the late Frances Ezell.

He is survived by two sons, Deverle Jackson and Randy Jackson, both of Athens; four sisters, Doris Trousdale, Pauline Sloan and Mary Jackson, all of Athens, and Ann Sink of Priceville; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James Roy Massey
84, retired poultry farmer

RUSSELLVILLE -- Funeral for James Roy Massey, 84, of Phil Campbell was to be today at 11 a.m. at Akins Funeral Home with Bill Norris officiating.

Burial was to be in Colbert Memorial Garden.

Mr. Massey died Friday, March 21, 2000, in Russellville. He was born June 19, 1915, in Mount Hope. He was a retired poultry farmer. He was the widower of Dean Appleton Massey and the brother of the late Gerald Massey, Hillman Massey, Alice Simmons, Gertrude Johnson and Edna Hargett.

He is survived by one son, Jerome Steve Massey of Florida; one brother, Ray Massey of Mount Hope; one sister, Ruth Witt of Mount Hope; one granddaughter; and three great-grandsons.

Pallbearers were to be Jaylon Duncan, Robyn Duncan, Brad Massey, Mike Owens, Bill Wimberly and Matt Witt.

Berta Mullins Caldwell Reynolds
87, sitter

Funeral for Berta Mullins Caldwell Reynolds, 87, of Decatur will be Tuesday at noon at First Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Cartwright Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Reynolds died Saturday, April 22, 2000, at her home. She was born April 13, 1913, in Town Creek to Yancy and Levirt Morgan Mullins. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church, where she sang in the Senior Choir and Restoration Choir. She was a regular sitter for children and elderly adults.

She is survived by four sons, John Franklin Caldwell of South Euclid, Ohio, and the Rev. Delorn Caldwell, John Buford Reynolds and Edgar D. Reynolds, all of Decatur; three daughters, Mary E. Caldwell Foster of Louisville, Ky., and Beatrice Reynolds McClendon and Bettye I. Troup, both of Decatur; two sisters, Mary B. Davis and Dicy Lorraine Malone, both of Chattanooga; 35 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Deacons and trustees of First Missionary Baptist Church will be honorary pallbearers.
