Carrie Randolph Hagood
92, homemaker

TRINITY -- Funeral for Carrie Randolph Hagood, 92, of Hillsboro will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Melton Burkes, the Rev. Bill Pullen and the Rev. Terry Gillespie officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hagood died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born March 16, 1908, in Lawrence County to Monroe and Lizzie Muston Randolph. She was a homemaker and a member of Chalybeate Springs Baptist Church. She was the widower of the Rev. John I. Hagood and the mother of the late Don Ervin Hagood.

She is survived by four sons, O.C. Hagood of Tanner, Gathel Hagood and James Waylen Hagood, both of Hillsboro and Bobby J. Hagood of Trinity; one daughter, Velma Dean Gillespie of Moulton; two brothers, Cecil Randolph of Moulton and James Randolph of Hatton; three sisters, Mavis Terry of Hatton, Ruby Patterson of Town Creek and Betty Wheeler of Sun City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

John Joshua Huffman
87, retired rural mail carrier

ATHENS -- Funeral for John Joshua Huffman, 87, of Athens will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Eupora, Miss., with the Rev. William S. Stewart and the Rev. Tim Keenum officiating.

Burial will be in Eupora Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight at 6 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home in Eupora. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is directing local arrangements.

Mr. Huffman died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 2, 1912, in Calhoun County, Miss. He was a member of Sardis Springs Baptist Church in Athens and a retired rural mail carrier. He was the widower of Jerrod Coleman Huffman.

He is survived by one daughter, Aurelia Huffman Bagwell of Athens; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sardis Springs Baptist Church or First Baptist Church in Eupora.

Mary Ruth Morris Kasulka
70, retired AT&T supervisor

TRINITY -- Funeral for Mary Ruth Morris Kasulka, 70, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Carlisle and the Rev. Junior Hill officiating.

Burial will be in Courtland City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Mrs. Kasulka died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital.

She was born Oct. 10, 1929, in Courtland. She was a member of Central Park Baptist Church. She went to work at Southern Bell in 1955 as a telephone operator. Later, she served in several supervisory positions in Decatur and Sheffield. In 1974, she transferred to Birmingham. She retired in 1983 from AT&T as head of the maintenance department. She was a member and past president of Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a Camp Bluebird counselor and very active with Junior Achievement in Birmingham.

She was the daughter of the late Lawrence Morris and the late Versie Parker Morris and the sister of the late Prater Morris, the late Paul Morris, the late Parker Morris and the late Ava Carr.

She is survived by one daughter, Brinda Kay Hill of Decatur, five brothers, Percy Morris, Phillip Morris and Prentis Morris, all of Courtland, Pelmer Morris of Hillsboro and Pete Morris of Springs Hill, Fla.; one sister, Minnie Letson of Hillsboro; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Frank Bynum, Derek Morris, Larry Paul Morris, Charles Letson, Marlon Morris, Randy Green , Mitchell Morris and Jim Thompson.

Pat 'Frances' Reno
66, retired kindergarten teacher

MARIETTA, Ga. -- Memorial services for Pat "Frances" Reno, 66, of Acworth, Ga., will be Saturday at 3 p.m. at Medford-Peden Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reno died Wednesday, April 19, 2000, in Georgia. She was born May 9, 1933, in Philadelphia. She was a retired kindergarten teacher. She was a former resident of Decatur where she was a member of Saint Ann's Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, John C. Reno; one son, John D. Reno of Duluth, Ga.; one daughter, Colleen M. Reno of Acworth; and one sister, Peg Linwood of Philadelphia.

Memorials can be made to American Diabetes Association, 3 Corporate Square, Suite 120, Atlanta, GA 30329.

Amos Guy Watkins
83, retired truck driver

Funeral for Amos Guy Watkins, 83, of Decatur will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hacklebury Church of Christ.

Burial will be in Cedar Tree Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home.

Mr. Watkins died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Jan. 28, 1917, in Hackleburg to L.L. Watkins and Lucy Cantrell Watkins. He retired from Consolidated Foods after 30 years and from Decatur City Schools after 13 years.

He is survived by his wife, Jewell Watkins of Decatur; one son, Amos G. Watkins of Clarksburg, Tenn.; one daughter, Carol Zimring of Pasadena, Fla., four sisters, Ardell Fincher of Hackleburg, Vela Barnwell, Opal Burleson of Haleyville and Annie Lee Glassgo of Fultondale; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

92, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Dessie Letson, 92, of Hillsboro will be Sunday at 4 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. B.L. Hale and the Rev. Chris Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Letson died Friday, May 5, 2000, at her home. She was born Sept. 26, 1907, in Lawrence County to Gid and Maggie Terry. She was a homemaker and a member of Mountain Home Baptist Church. She was the widow of Tom Letson and mother of the late Benard Letson.

She is survived by two sons, Glyn Letson and Corlyn Letson, both of Moulton; three daughters, Madgie Flannigan of Killen, Jannie Hale of Hillsboro and Mary Letson of Moulton; four brothers, Enoch Terry of Vinemont, Granville Terry and Marshall Terry, both of Moulton, and Jackie Terry of Lafayette, Ind.; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Lisa McKinney
19, Auburn student

Funeral for Lisa McKinney, 19, of Decatur will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Barnes and the Rev. David Goolsby officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Miss McKinney died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at USC University Hospital in Los Angeles. She was born Sept. 8, 1980, in Morgan County to Bruce Edward and Anita Wildsmith McKinney. She was a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church, a 1998 graduate of Austin High School and a sophomore at Auburn University. She was the granddaughter of the late Virgil Wildsmith.

She is survived by her parents of Decatur; one sister, Amy McKinney of Decatur; and her grandparents, Edward and Julia McKinney and Dorfa Wildsmith, all of Birmingham.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Nelson, McKay Lyvers, Michael Burleson, Bart Kirkham, Brad Bankester and Clark Grissom.

Dessie Taylor NeSmith
84, retired sales clerk

Funeral for Dessie Taylor NeSmith, 84, of Hanceville, formerly of Decatur, will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. G. Douglas Ripley and the Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. NeSmith died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Woodland Community Hospital in Cullman. She was born Oct. 25, 1915, in Lawrence County to Pink and Easter Louis Smith. She was a retired retail sales clerk.

She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Maner of Hanceville; one stepson, Malcolm NeSmith of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Jeanie Elders of Memphis; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Charles Edward Richard
61, retired TVA painter

MOULTON -- Funeral for Charles Edward Richard, 61, of Town Creek will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Pullen officiating.

Burial will be in Providence Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Richard died Friday, May 5, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born March 26, 1939, in Lawrence County to Woodrow and Lorene Richard. He was a member of Okolona Baptist Church and a retired painter with Tennessee Valley Authority.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Richard; one son, Charles Wayne Richard of Hatton; four daughters, Angie Kelly of Mount Hope, Karen Brooks of Town Creek, Nancy Grissom of Muscle Shoals and Amanda Richard of Hatton; two brothers, Harold Richard and Sammy Richard, both of Moulton; two sisters, Doris Patterson of Moulton and Audrey Collins of Trinity; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Richard, James Puckett, Mark Richard, Larry Bradford, Jeff Flannagan and Ricky Zills.

Arthur Leo Veal
74, retired sheet-metal worker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Arthur Leo Veal, 74, of Cullman will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Etha Baptist Church with the Rev. Lester Veal officiating.

Burial will be in Etha Baptist Cemetery with Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Veal died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at his home. He was born June 14, 1925, in Cullman County to Thomas Benjamin and Pearlie Armittia Edmonson Veal. He was a retired sheet-metal worker at Redstone Arsenal.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Childers Veal; two sons, Larry Joe Veal of Decatur and Jerry Douglas Veal of Gardendale; one daughter, Shelia Hooper of Arab; two brothers, L.D. Veal of Cullman and Thomas Nello Veal of Birmingham; two sisters, Helen Graham and Dorothy Brown, both of Cullman; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
