ATHENS -- Funeral for William Elzie Stoner, 72, of Athens will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Barry Dunn and Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Stoner died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at his residence. He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Limestone County. He was retired from the Athens Electric Department as a lineman and supervisor for 34 years. He was a member of Isom's Chapel United Methodist Church. He was the father of Earl Stoner.

He is survived by his wife, Frances Onedia Stoner of Athens; a son, Dwight Stoner of Athens; a sister, Jeanette Furline of Milford, Mich.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be W.L. Miller, Henry Phillip Miller, Robert Miller, Phillip Pitman, Bob Hudson and Chuck Hudson.

Annelle Rochelle Wales
77, homemaker

Funeral for Annelle Rochelle Wales, 77, of Elkmont will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Taylor Ardmore Funeral Home in Ardmore with Bobby Ogles officiating.

Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Athens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wales died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at her residence. She was born April 5, 1923. She was a member of the Pettusville Church of Christ. She was the widow of Homer L. Wales.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmy G. Wales of Elkmont and Donald Wales of El Dorodo, Ark.; two brothers, Thomas Rochelle of Ardmore, Tenn., and Walter Rochelle of Decatur; two sisters, Martha Barran of Decatur and George Ethel Wales of Elkmont; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The Rev. Robert Lee Christa
52, minister
GRANT -- Funeral for the Rev. Robert Lee Christa, 52, of Grant will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with C.H. Dake and Fay Tippett officiating.

Burial will be in Troup Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Christa died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at his home. He was born March 13, 1948, in Madison County to Paul Lee Christa and Frances Effie Garner Christa. He was a minister and was retired from city of Huntsville Wastewater Treatment Plant.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Kitchens Christa of Grant, formerly of Decatur; two daughters, Heather Frances Christa and Angela Darlene Baker, both of Albertville; two sons, Robbie Christa of Georgia and Gregg Traynom of Grant and formerly of Decatur; three brothers, Willie L. Christa, Frank Gordon Christa and Alvie Joe Christa, all of Huntsville; two adopted brothers, Onto Horton of Decatur and C.H. Dake of New Hope; one sister, Joyce Slaten of Danville; and five grandchildren.

Randall Crow
47, security guard

Funeral for Randall Crow, 47, of Hartselle will be today at 3 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Evans officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Cemetery.

Mr. Crow died Thursday, June 22, 2000, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. He was born April 7, 1953, in Lawrence County to Cecil Crow and Madgie Mae Hitt Crow. He was a security guard and attended Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.

He is survived by one brother, Albert Crow, of Decatur; five sisters, Mildred Putman and Brenda Crow, both of Decatur, Demetria Letson of Marietta, Ga., Peggy Parker of Massey and Tonia Crow of Hartselle; and his mother, of Hartselle.

Pallbearers will be Joel McGuyre, Joseph McGuyre, Phillip McGuyre and Steven Letson.

Dessie Eva Tucker Franklin
83, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Dessie Eva Tucker Franklin, 83, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bill Irby officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Franklin died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Athens Convalescent Center. She was born Oct. 19, 1916, in Limestone County to William R. Tucker and Josie Sisco Tucker. She was a homemaker and a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Hubert W. Franklin Sr.; one son, the Rev. Woodrow Franklin Jr. of Section; one daughter, Trudell Haver of Decatur; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Margaret V. Holland
92, retired schoolteacher

BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Margaret V. Holland, 92, of Eastaboga will be today at 1 p.m. at Johns-Ridout's Elmwood Chapel with the Rev. Larry Holland, the Rev. Reggie Kirk and the Rev. Marcus Long officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery with Gray Brown Service of Anniston directing.

Mrs. Holland died Wednesday, June 21, 2000, at Regional Medical Center in Anniston. She was born Oct. 18, 1907, in Morgan County to Ira McKelvey Murphree and Bessie Lou McCullough Murphree.

She retired as a schoolteacher in the Jefferson County School System after 45 years and spearheaded the drive for Tarrant to buy the old Jefferson County High School. She was a genealogist and played the piano and organ in the United Methodist Church for 48 years. She also was in charge of the Jefferson County dental mobile unit. She was elected Woman of the Year in Jefferson County in 1950. She was a member of the Joe Wheeler Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy and a 50-year member of the Miztah Chapter of the Eastern Star in Decatur. She was the widow of Melville W. Holland and the mother of the late Melville W. Holland Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Agnes Anne Coleman of Tarrant and Margaret H. Hodges of Eastaboga; one brother, Richard V. Murphree of Birmingham; three sisters, Hazel Elliott of Decatur, Maxine Kratt of Memphis and Marjorie Kirkpatrick of Chattanooga; 14 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and nephews will be pallbearers. Members of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and the Eastern Star will be honorary pallbearers.

Mickey Dewayne Rodgers
51, maintenance worker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Mickey Dewayne Rodgers, 51, of Cullman will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Seventh Street Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Cook, the Rev. Steve Britt and the Rev. Walter Jury officiating.

Burial will be in New Hope No. 1 Cemetery at Jones Chapel with Williams-McCracken Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Rodgers died Friday, June 23, 2000, in Cullman. He was born Sept. 27, 1948, in Cullman to Henry Burton Rodgers Jr. and Wanda Reese Rodgers. He was a maintenance worker for the Morgan County School System and a Marine veteran. He was the brother of the late Jecoliah Sharpton.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Rodgers; one son, Davey Rodgers of Birmingham; one stepson, Thor Walker of Baileyton; one stepdaughter, Bridgett Chandler of Baileyton; three brothers, Michael Rodgers of Water Valley, Marlin Rodgers of Cullman and Brian Rodgers of Central; and one sister, Daphne Marks of Bremen; and one grandson.

Louis Vincent Siota
60, Athens resident

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Louis Vincent Siota, 60, of Athens will be today at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Nick Law and the Rev. Brent Siota officiating and Spry Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Siota died Friday, June 23, 2000, at home. He was born Sept. 27, 1939, in the Philippines to Louis M. Siota and Helen Bevan Siota.

He is survived by three brothers, Alfred Siota and Gabriel Siota, both of San Diego, and Jose Siota of Athens; and one sister, Josephine Vanatta of San Diego.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Earl Edward 'Red' Hyatt
75, maintenance supervisor
Funeral for Earl Edward "Red" Hyatt, 75, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth A. Dunivant and the Rev. Gene Lankford officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hyatt died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at home. He was born June 12, 1925, at Warrior to Carl David Hyatt and Katie Mitchell Hyatt. He was a longtime resident of Decatur and an Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. He served 21 years as a volunteer at Medical Park Convalescent Center. He retired from Prestolite as preventive maintenance supervisor after 20 years.

He is survived by his wife, Emogene Whitehead Hyatt; two daughters, Sandy Hyatt Bradford and Susan Hyatt Richardson, both of Decatur; one brother, Charles Hyatt of Pontiac, Mich.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Richard Boyd, Kevin Bradford, Mitchell Fuller, Bill Hamilton, Buddy Richardson and Richard Smith.

Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church or Hospice of the Valley.

Arthur Harland Jones
67, retired heavy equipment mechanic

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Arthur Harland Jones, 67, of Danville will be today at 2 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Al Helton, the Rev. Jeanne Earwood and the Rev. Charlie Thorn officiating.

Burial will be in Upton Chapel Cemetery.

Mr. Jones died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Oct. 10, 1932, in Franklin County to Arthur Nelson Jones and Beulah Leona Jones. He was a member of Upton Chapel United Methodist Church and an Army veteran. He earned a degree as a master technician and retired from Tractor & Equipment Company in Decatur as a heavy equipment mechanic after 35 years.

He is survived by his wife, Grace Brown Jones; three sons, Mike Jones, Daryl Jones and Jimmy Jones, all of Decatur; one daughter, Susan Kilpatrick of Danville; one brother, Johnny Jones of Decatur; and nine grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Zeb Jones, Josh Jones, Nick Jones, Larry Bullard, Rodney Jones, Danny Fisher, Randall Brown and Joseph Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be men of Upton Chapel United Methodist Church.

Marie Bullard McCleskey
76, former nurse's aide

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Marie Bullard McCleskey, 76, of Hartselle will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Alred officiating.

Burial will be in Forest Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCleskey died Friday, June 23, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1924, in Morgan County to Wylie Daniel Bullard and Emma Sparkman Bullard. She was a former nurse's aide at Hartselle Medical Center and a member of Oak Ridge United Methodist Church. She was the mother of the late Waylon McCleskey.

She is survived by her husband, Robert F. McCleskey; two sons, Danny McCleskey of Hartselle and Randal McCleskey of Danville; one daughter, Nancy Tull of Nashville; one brother, Donald Bullard of Hartselle; one sister, Grace Lorance of Midwest City, Okla.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Barney Franklin McNabb
64, retired truck driver

Funeral for Barney Franklin McNabb, 64, of Decatur will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. K.C. Poole officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. McNabb died Saturday, June 24, 2000, at Oak Trace Assisted Living in Holly Pond. He was born March 17, 1936, in Hiawassee, Ga., to James McNabb and Bertha Burrell McNabb. He drove a truck for 43 years, retiring as a driver for Consolidated Truck Lines in Forest Park, Ga. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly McNabb; two sons, Greg McNabb of Gaithersburg, Md., and Ricky McNabb of Douglasville, Ga.; three daughters, Kelly Avera of McDonough, Ga., Teri Holifield of Pearl, Miss., and Pamela Hester of Hartselle; two brothers, Boyce McNabb and Clyde McNabb, both of Hiawassee, Ga.; one sister, Euzella Gibson of Gainesville, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be W.T. Chandler, Billy Little, Harold Hill, Jimmy Wilson, Dale Hammond and Johnny Chandler.
