ATHENS -- Funeral for Tanya Rene Tucker, 20, of Athens was to be today at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Robert Hall officiating.

Burial was to be in Hurricane Cemetery in Rogersville.

Ms. Tucker died Tuesday, July 11, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born March 8, 1980, in Limestone County. She was a clerk at Martha's Grocery in Limestone County. She was the granddaughter of the late C. L. Tucker.

She is survived by one daughter, Darian Reeves of Athens; her father and stepmother, Tony and Beth Pope of Athens; her mother and stepfather, Virginia and James Nelms of Athens; one brother, Raymond Kerwin of Athens; her grandparents, Ellis and Joyce Alred of Athens, and Harvey and Beulah Pope of Elkmont; and her great-grandparents, Evie Gipson of Athens and Irene Tucker of Lexington.

Edward "D.C." Blankenship

MOULTON -- Funeral for Edward "D.C." Blankenship, 61, of Moulton, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Union Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Edward LouAllen and the Rev. Amos Hood officiating.

Burial will be in Union Hill Cemetery, with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Blankenship died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Sept. 6, 1938, in Lawrence County, to David and Carrie Blankenship. He was the brother of the late Hubert Blankenship and Reba McNairy.

Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife, Mary Blankenship; one son, Paul Blankenship of Hatton; three sisters, Myrtle Terry, Julia Smith and Edith Coleman, all of Hatton.

Pallbearers will be David McNairy, Cecil Smith, Howard Morris, Aaron Landers, Hershel Landers and Ronnie Etheridge.

Elizabeth Irene Byars
90, retired lunchoom supervisor

MOULTON -- Funeral for Elizabeth Irene Byars, 90, of Decatur, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial will be in Heflin Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Byars died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at National Health Care in Moulton. She was born April 18, 1910, in Lawrence County, to L.H. Latham and Dellar Vandiver Latham. She was retired as a lunchroom supervisor, and was widow of J.D. Byars.

Mrs. Byars is survived by one son, Jim Byars of Decatur; two daughters, Carolyn Logan of Decatur and Gearl Dine Hooper of Russellville; two sisters, Lucille Malcom of Landersville and Marjorie Hooper of Cullman; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Bill Hooper, J.D. Byars, Brent Hooper, Sonny Malcom, Tommy Holbrooks and Keith Fagan.

Zenas Ozro Flanagan
83, business owner

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ozro Flanagan of Athens will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Ron Owens and Ernest Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Flanagan died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born April 26, 1917, in Limestone County. He was co-owner of Flanagan Lumber Co. and a member of the Central Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Cleo Eastep Flanagan; one daughter, Peggy Flanagan Baird of Huntsville; one brother, Kenneth Newton Flanagan of Fredrick, Md.; one grandson; one great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Todd, Jack Bowers, Billy Black, Harvard Romine, James Dougherty, Joe Daly, Elvin Stoffregen and John Bullington. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Flanagan Lumber Co.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or a charity or church of your choice.

Jimmy Wayne Baugher
58, retired Monsanto electrician
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Jimmy Wayne Baugher, 58, of Hartselle will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Ron Wilson officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Baugher died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Athens to Lawrence Baugher and Juanita "Stacey" Baugher Henderson. He was a retired electrician for Monsanto and a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Baugher; four sons, Patrick Baugher, Bart Baugher and Paton Baugher, all of Athens, and Bryant Baugher of Huntsville; one stepdaughter, Paige McDaniel of Hartselle; his mother of Athens; one brother, Mike Baugher of Athens; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Heath Baugher, Garland Bennett, Claud Lavender, Randy Perkins, Don Pouncey and Craig Segars.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Hartselle.

Elizabeth Irene Byars
90, lunchroom supervisor

Pauline 'Polly' Estes Gann
77, former Decatur resident

CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- Memorial service for Pauline "Polly" Estes Gann, 77, of Cape Coral, formerly of Decatur, will be Aug. 15 at 4 p.m. at Cape Coral United Methodist Church with Metz Funeral Home directing.

Interment of her ashes will be at Arlington National Cemetery.

Mrs. Gann died July 5, 2000, at Hospice House in Fort Myers, Fla. She was born July 5, 1923, in Springfield, Ill., to Clifford Estes and Catherine Cain Estes. She received a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan in 1944. She lived in Decatur from 1952 to 1963 while her husband worked at Chemstrand. She was a member of Cape Coral United Methodist Church, Alpha Chi Omega social sorority and the Palmetto-Pine Country Club. She was the sister of the late Eugene C. Estes.

She is survived by her husband, Paul Williams Gann; one daughter, Sandra G. Corso of Fort Myers; three sons, Preston E. Gann of Riviera Beach, Fla., Bruce C. Gann of Staten Island, N.Y., and Larry W. Gann of Hardwick, Vt.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hope Hospice.

Lillie M. Stidger Lamme
79, homemaker

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Lillie M. Stidger Lamme, 79, of Lacey's Spring will be today at 10 a.m. at Twickenham Funeral Home South with the Rev. Al Phillips officiating.

Burial will be in Lipscomb Cemetery.

Mrs. Lamme died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at home. She was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Lacey's Spring to Elijah Edwards and Rosie Kidd Edwards. She was a homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Stidger of Cleveland, Tenn., and Cecil Stidger of Priceville; two daughters, Linda Swords of Lacey's Spring and Montez Hostetler of Mansfield, Ohio; two brothers, Wilmer Edwards of Lacey's Spring and Jimmy Edwards of Arab; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Foundation or the American Cancer Society.

Marie Nicholson
63, restaurant owner

Funeral for Marie Nicholson, 63, of Decatur will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Eugene McNutt officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nicholson died Friday, July 14, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Morgan County to William Sherrill and Earline Sherrill. She was the former owner and operator of several restaurants in Decatur and Chicago. She also was a Baptist and a welder's helper at Ingall's Iron Works. She was the sister of the late Charles Sherrill.

She is survived by her husband, James O. Nicholson; two sons, Ronnie Franklin and Donnie Franklin, both of Decatur; one daughter, Sheila Millwood of Decatur; three brothers, Billie Joe Sherrill and Jack Sherrill, both of Trinity, and Scottie Tims of High Point, N.C.; two sisters, Patricia Ann Canon of Las Vegas and Valerie Tims of Fort Worth, Texas; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Young, Avery Millwood, Dale Hallmark Jr., James Hoyt Powell Jr., Ronnie Farris, Dean Mitchell and Bobby Mitchell.

Harry Dale Patterson
68, U.S. Army Missile Command retiree

ATHENS -- Funeral for Harry Dale Patterson, 68, of Athens will be Sunday at First Baptist Church of Athens with the Rev. Aaron D. Johnson and the Rev. Fred Lackey officiating.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens with Spry Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Patterson died Friday, July 14, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Limestone County to Raymond Patterson and Ada Patterson. He was an Athens city councilman for two terms, a Korean War veteran and a member of the Alabama National Guard and First Baptist Church. He was retired as a procurement director from the U.S. Army Missile Command at Redstone Arsenal. He was a graduate of Athens High School and Athens State College.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Rozell Patterson; two daughters, Jeanne Keenum and Karen Balch, both of Athens; his mother of Athens; one brother, Glenn Patterson of Athens; one sister, Annette Loveless of Elkmont; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Watkins, Bob Ingrum, David Gaut, Tommy Phillips, Leonard Plunk, Bobby Higgins and Marshall Church.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County or United Way.

Betty Jo Puckett
48, DAILY carrier

Funeral for Betty Jo Puckett, 48, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Agee officiating.

Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery in Courtland. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Puckett died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 31, 1951, in Marshall County to Caril Vernon Butts and Delfie Mae Beason Butts. She was a carrier for THE DECATUR DAILY for 12 years and a cashier at Food Outlet in Decatur. She was the sister of the late Wendell Lee Ferguson.

She is survived by her husband, Bobby Puckett; two sons, James Eugene Puckett of Moulton and John Paul Vernon Puckett of Decatur; two daughters, Denise Peebles and Bobbie Jo Puckett, both of Decatur; her father of Cullman; one brother, Jerry Wayne Butts of Cullman; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Richard, Sammy Richard, Patrick Peebles, Todd Cagle, Tim Hunter and Phillip Borden.

Elva Doris Chambers
71, self-employed seamstress
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Elva Doris Chambers, 71, of Falkville will be Monday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Truman Carter officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chambers died Saturday, July 15, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Sept. 4, 1928, in Marion County to William E. Ingram and Icie E. Baccus Ingram. She once owned and operated a restaurant and was a self-employed seamstress.

She is survived by two sons, Dennis Marcum of Glenn Allen and Micky Chambers of Hartselle; one brother, Wayne Ingram of Winfield; one sister, Irene Davis of Tallassee; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Marcum and Micky Chambers.
