Mary Frances Cottrell

ATHENS -- Funeral for Mary Frances Cottrell, 83, of Athens will be today at 10 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Warren Glass and family members officiating.

Burial will be in Giles Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Cottrell died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at her home. She was born June 10, 1917, in Giles County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Market Street Church of Christ.

She is survived by two daughters, Gail Clanton and Kay Williams, both of Athens; one brother, Wilson Abernathy of Mason City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Her grandsons will be pallbearers.

Paul Joseph Haggard
69, retired truck driver

ATHENS -- Funeral for Paul Joseph Haggard, 69, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Waymon Fike and Paul Wesley Henderson officiating.

Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9.

Mr. Haggard died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Aug. 15, 1930, in Decatur. He was a retired truck driver and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Baptist church and a former resident of Doc Jordon & Summer Manor Apartments for senior citizens where he provided transportation for residents.

He is survived by three daughters, Sharon Upton and Sandra Townes, both of Decatur, and Kimberly Patterson of Boaz; and one sister, Mary Henderson of Madison.

Winon Hood
71, owner Moulton Dry Cleaning

MOULTON -- Funeral for Winon Hood, 71, of Moulton will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Kennard DeVany and the Rev. Amos Hood officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hood died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Eliza Coffey Memorial hospital in Florence. He was born Jan. 28, 1929, in Moulton, to Floyd Hood and Lillie Johnson Hood. He was owner of Moulton Dry Cleaners for 23 years, a volunteer fireman with the Moulton Fire Department and captain of the Lawrence County Rescue Squad. He was the brother of the late Julia Mullican.

Mr. Hood is survived by his wife, Doris Ann Hood; three daughters, Winona Hood, Sharon Owens and Brenda Williams, all of Moulton; his mother, who lives in Moulton; two sisters, Kathleen Kicker of Tuscumbia and Betty Howard of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Randy Mullican, Jackie Proctor, Jeff Howard, Johnny Moses, Richard Montgomery and Flynn Owen.

Harry J. Lee
79, retired fireman

ARAB -- Funeral for Harry J. Lee, 79, of Arab will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Gober Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Lee died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. He was born May 21, 1921, in Huntsville to Harry James Lee and Agnes Grubbs Lee. He retired as a fireman at Redstone Arsenal. His wife of 58 years, Frances Lee, died March 12. The Lees lived in Arab for more than 41 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Jean Ann Joner of Priceville; three sisters, Ruby Moon, Daisey Wisdom and Jelene Smith, all of Tennessee; two grandsons; and one great-granddaughter.

James Lewis McGahee
86, farmer

Funeral for James Lewis McGahee, 86, of Decatur, will be Wednesday at noon at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Jesse Little officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Burial will in the church cemetery.

SThe body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. McGahee died Friday, July 21, 2000 at Parkway Medical Center. He was born May 22, 1914, in Lawrence County to Jim McGahee and Texanna Stenson McGahee.

He was a member of Mt. Zion and was also a member of the King's Chapel Masonic Lodge No. 959.

He is survived by one son, Earl Ricks of Leighton; one daughter, Gleria McVay of Sheffield; one sister, Bessie Fletcher of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Masonic brothers and deacons.

Dwight A. Naylor
59, D.C.A Concrete manager

MOULTON -- Funeral for Dwight A. Naylor, 59, of Moulton will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackie Shelton officiating.

Burial will be in Old Bulah Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Naylor died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1940, in Lawrence County, to Jim Matt Naylor and Lula Brooks Naylor. He was a manager for D.C.A. Concrete.

He is survived by his wife, Bobby Cox Naylor; one son, Darrell Naylor of Moulton; three brothers, Thomas Ray Naylor and Jimmy Naylor, both of Moulton and Odis Naylor of Decatur; two sisters, Mavis Hood of Moulton and Dorothy Sapp of Decatur; his step grandmother Elvie Brooks of Moulton; and one grandchild.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Willard W. Thompson
66, truck driver

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Willard Wayne Thompson, 66, of Danville, will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Willie Delashaw and the Rev. Francis Proctor officiating.

Burial will be in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born July 10, 1934, in Morgan County, to Robert Wayne Thompson and Daisy Irene Winton Thompson. He was a fitter and a truck driver for Addison Fabrications Inc.

He is survived by his wife, Cleo Thompson; two sons, Billy "Bull" Thompson of Danville and Yancy Thompson of Decatur; two daughters, Anna Callahan and Angela Thompson, both of Danville; one brother, Joe Thompson of Parrish; six sisters, Annette Gurganus of Oakman, Estelle Singer of Madison, Ind., Nora Wilson of Hartselle, Flora Jenkins of Decatur, Francis Turney of Lakeland, Fla., and Elizabeth Prater of Rumbus, Mich.

Pallbearers will be Keith Furguson, Wayne Jordon, Timothy Proctor, Paul Bryant, Steven Garrie, Jonathan Proctor, Dean Wilson and Michael Parker.

Cora A. Garmany
84, homemaker

Funeral for Cora A. Garmany, 84, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home Chapel in Centre with the Rev. Phillip Sessions officiating.

Burial will be in Unity Cemetery in Cherokee County. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Shelton Funeral Home and Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. at Perry Funeral Home.

Mrs. Garmany died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born May 2, 1916, to Albert L. Bradley and Viola Holcomb Bradley. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Woodrow "Woody" Garmany; two sons, Wesley Garmany of Danville and Gary Garmany of Decatur; one daughter, Gloria Jean Craig of San Bernardino, Calif.; two stepsons, Gerald Garmany of Lafayette, Ga., and Donald Garmany of Chickamauga, Ga; one stepdaughter, Betty Lorance of Trion, Ga.; two sisters, Faye Moon of Centre and Flora Stancil of Somerville, Ga.; 18 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Leta Haddock

Funeral for Leta Haddock of Florence, who died today at Decatur General Hospital, will be announced.

Mrs. Haddock was the mother of City Councilwoman Pat Woller.

Audrey Elaine Jones
65, homemaker

DYERSBURG, Tenn. -- Funeral for Audrey Elaine Jones, 65, of Dyersburg and formerly of Moulton, was to be today at 3:30 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert L. Orr and the Rev. Raymond Boston officiating.

Graveside service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Moulton City Cemetery with the Rev. Mark Taylor officiating.

Miss Jones died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Methodist Hospital in Dyersburg. She was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Florence to Henry Jones and Audrey Ennis Jones. She was a homemaker and attended First Baptist Church of Dyersburg. She was a member of Moulton United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one brother, William E. "Bill" Jones of Dyersburg.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund or to Gambro Dialysis Center in Dyersburg.

Dorothy Ryan

Funeral arrangements for Dorothy Ryan, 68, of Decatur, who died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center, will be announced by Shelton Funeral Home.

Kelly Lee Smith

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Kelly Lee Smith, 29, of Madison was to be today at 2 p.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerrol Smith and the Rev. Gerald Harper officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Level Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mr. Smith died Sunday, July 23, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 28, 1970, in Cullman County. He was a research assistant at NASA.

He is survived by his wife, Molly Collins Smith; his parents, Jerrol and Linda Butts Smith of Cullman; one brother, Jerrol Smith Jr. of Cullman; and one sister, Elaine Smith of Huntsville.

Pallbearers will be Tom Collins II, Kyle Collins, Lee Moore, Justin Heaton, John Heaton and Chris Smith.
