Funeral for Jimmy H. Yarbrough, 57, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandra Locke Godbey officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1 to 2 at the funeral home.

Mr. Yarbrough died Saturday, July 22, 2000, at his home. He was born Jan. 10, 1943, in Decatur to Marvin Yarbrough and Opal S. Yarbrough. He was an engineer at Northrop Grumman Corp. in Huntsville and a member of Ninth Street United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Lu Yarbrough; two sons, Chris Yarbrough of Dale, Texas, and Todd Yarbrough of Austin, Texas; two daughters, Jenny Yarbrough Turner of Wichita Falls, Texas, and Allison Yarbrough Anderson of Decatur; one brother, Sid Yarbrough of Decatur; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Roger Nitz, Jack Higginbotham, Howard Turner, Bill Laughmiller, Chris Yarbrough, and Todd Yarbrough.

Linda Gail Brown
50, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Linda Gail Brown, 50, of Danville will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Harold Coomer officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1950, in Madison County to Henry Berryman and Florene Berryman. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Ray Brown; one son, Timothy Brown of Selma; one daughter, Kimberly Brown of Decatur; one brother, Hubert Lee Brown of Hatton; two sisters, Inez Berryman and Martha Lee Berryman Clunch, both of Huntsville; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Sherman Brown, Gary Brown, Barry Brown, J.C. Atkins, David Teague and Patrick Atkins.

Dorothy Davidson Christensen

Funeral arrangements for Dorothy Davidson Christensen of Decatur, who died today, July 26, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital, will be announced by Roselawn Funeral Home.

Leander Faulk
70, retired truck driver

ATHENS -- Funeral for Leander Faulk, 70, of Athens was to be today at 3 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Derril Robertson officiating.

Burial was to be in Athens City Cemetery.

Mr. Faulk died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Aug. 5, 1929, in Limestone County. He was a retired truck driver for Ryder Trucking.

He is survived by two sons, Danny Faulk of Hartselle and David Faulk of Richmond, Va.; three daughters, Dorothy Caldwell of Farmington, Mich., Shirley Loughary of Athens and Linda McBay of Elkmont; one brother, B.F. Faulk of Athens; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Wayne McBay, Brandon McBay, Steve Knox, Toby Schindel, Aaron Loughary and Harold Brown.

Clyde Joseph Haas
100, lumber company owner

ATHENS -- Memorial Mass for Clyde Joseph Haas, 100, of Athens will be said Saturday at noon at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Allen officiating and Limestone Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Haas died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Glenwood Convalescent Center in Florence. He was born Jan. 1, 1900, in Wisconsin. He was a retired lumber company owner and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He was the widower of Sandra Shaw Haas.

He is survived by six stepdaughters, Mary Ann Bond of Wiggins, Miss., Jennifer Lovelady of Athens, Frances Fountain of Killen, Sally Vark of Mesa, Ariz., Amy Strickland of Dawsonville, Ga., and Samantha Horowitz of Pompano Beach, Fla.

Leta Palmer Haddock
91, educator

FLORENCE -- Funeral for Leta Palmer Haddock, 91, of Florence will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Florence with the Rev. Hal Noble and the Rev. James Bassham officiating.

Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Garden with Elkins Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Haddock died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born May 30, 1909, in Lauderdale County to Thomas Levi Palmer and Minnie Llewellyn Palmer. She was a graduate of Central High School and attended Florence State Normal College. She was a teacher and a principal in Lauderdale County Schools. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Florence, the Mary Douglas Bender Sunday school class, United Methodist Women, and was a former member of the church board and the Altar Guild. She was an American Red Cross volunteer, a member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and a charter member of the Savannah Road Garden Club. She was the widow of Earl R. Haddock.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha H. Woodford of Florence and Patricia H. Woller of Decatur; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steve Haddock, Bram O'Steen, David Haddock, Terry Haddock, Bill Mitchell and James F. Haddock.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church in Decatur's Building in Faith program or to a favorite charity.

William Gene 'Bill' Kennedy
65, Housing Authority retiree

Funeral for William Gene "Bill" Kennedy, 65, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. W.L. Cole officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight and Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Kennedy died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, at home. He was born Oct. 20, 1934, in Bessemer to William M. Kennedy and Olive Harris Kennedy. An Army veteran, he was a maintenance man for Decatur Housing Authority before retiring. He was a member of BPOE Lodge No. 655, Masonic Lodge of Decatur, Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4190, Eagles Lodge of Decatur and Cahaba Shrine Temple of Huntsville.

He is survived by two sons, William G. "Billy" Kennedy Jr. of Falkville and Jeff Kennedy of Ryan; two daughters, Wanda Gene Zerbee of Lanesville, Ind., and Teri Watson of Hartselle; two sisters, Gladys Street of Bristol, Tenn., and his twin, Deanie Gibson of Mobile; and six grandchildren.

Members of BPOE Lodge No. 655 will be pallbearers.

Bobby Eugene Martin
56, Solutia retiree

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Bobby Eugene Martin, 56, of Somerville will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Smothers officiating.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin died Monday, July 24, 2000, at his home. He was born Oct. 27, 1943, in Limestone County to John Hubert Martin and Ada Virginia Craft Martin. He was retired as a maintenance supervisor at Solutia.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Martin; two sons, Ricky Martin of Decatur and Ronald Mathews of Somerville; two daughters, Debbie Mathews of Somerville and Melissa Martin of Decatur; his mother of Moulton; two sisters, Bonnie Robbins of Moulton and Wanda Hopkins of Mount Hope; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Terry Cottingham, Rodney Hopkins, Scott Moore, Joe Rivers, Greg Robbins and Bert Wigginton.

Dorothy Ann Ryan
68, homemaker

Funeral for Dorothy Ann Ryan, 68, of Decatur will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Hal Warren officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ryan died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1932, in Russellville to Dempsey Bozeman and Josephine Bozeman. She was a homemaker and a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Ernest Ryan; three sons, Ronald Garrett, Rick Garrett and Karl Garrett, all of Lincoln, Neb.; one daughter, Linda Schomaker of Lincoln; two brothers, Bobby Bozeman of Trinity and R.D. Bozeman of Madisonville, Ky.; two sisters, Flossie Finley of Russellville and Nettie Sue Heaps of Hickman, Neb.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donald Finley, Donovan Finley, Allen Dean, Bill Floyd, George Dean and Greg Bozeman.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Edna Marie Trent, 82, of Hartselle will be at Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville, Ark., at a time to be announced.

Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.

Mrs. Trent died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born Aug. 2, 1917, in Izard County, Ark., to John Henry Mullins and May Louise Matheny Mullins. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Florence M. Caudle of Hartselle; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mary Lee Brandon
86, Porter Mills supervisor

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Mary Lee Brandon, 86, of Vinemont will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Moss Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Michael Gunter and the Rev. Larry Bashaw officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brandon died Tuesday, July 25, 2000, in Cullman. She was born March 12, 1914, in Cullman County to Jay Nesmith and Lula Belle Tomlinson Nesmith. She was a retired supervisor for Porter Mills.

She is survived by her husband, Asa P. Brandon; three sons, Jerry M. Brandon and Don P. Brandon, both of Anderson, Ind., and Asa L. Brandon of Vinemont; two brothers, S.T. Nesmith of Kokomo, Ind., and Jimmy Nesmith of Hartselle; one sister, Myron Chappell of Cullman; nine grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy Davidson Riddle Christensen
81, homemaker

Funeral for Dorothy Davidson Riddle Christensen, 81, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. Hal Noble officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends one hour before the service in the church parlor.

Mrs. Christensen died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born July 17, 1919, in Florence to Edwin N. Davidson and Mae Boston Davidson. A homemaker, she was a member of the Women's Chamber of Commerce and Central United Methodist Church, where she was in the Good Fellowship Sunday school class. She was the widow of James Christensen and Robert James Riddle and the mother of the late Robert Newton Riddle.

She is survived by one brother, Edwin Davidson of Decatur; one sister, Elizabeth Sandlin of Decatur; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to the HUGS ministry of Central United Methodist Church.

Vivian Floyd
79, retired schoolteacher

BIRMINGHAM -- Graveside service for Vivian Floyd, 79, of Birmingham will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Elmwood Mausoleum with the Rev. Richard Lane Stryker III officiating with Earnest Johnson Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Floyd died Monday, July 24, 2000, at St. Vincent Hospital. She was born Sept. 13, 1920, in Decatur to Steven Wynn Sr. and Rosie Orr Wynn. She was a graduate of Decatur Negro High School and Alabama A&M University and attended Tuskegee University. She was a former member of King's Memorial United Methodist Church in Decatur and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She taught in Birmingham schools for 47 years.

She is survived by her husband, Clarence Floyd; one son, Ralph Floyd of Birmingham; one brother, Horance Wynn of Detroit; and five grandchildren.

Archie B. Lipscomb
70, VA Hospital employee

WICHITA, Kan. -- Funeral for Archie B. Lipscomb, 70, of Wichita will be Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Wichita with the Rev. Moses Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery in Wichita with Jackson Mortuary directing.

Mr. Lipscomb died Monday, July 24, 2000, at Veterans Administration Hospital in Wichita. He was born May 13, 1930, in Morgan County to Archie B. Lipscomb Sr. and Narvel Orr Lipscomb. He worked at the VA Hospital in Wichita and was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Jackson Lipscomb; four sons, the Rev. Barry Lipscomb and Dwayne Lipscomb, both of Wichita, David Lipscomb of Augusta, Ga., and Bobby Lipscomb of Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Delois Washington of Louisville, Ky.; and one brother, Edward A. Lipscomb of Louisville.
