ATHENS -- Visitation for William Leon Facundo, 68, of Athens will be today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Mr. Facundo died Monday, July 31, 2000, at his home.

He was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Baltimore, Md. He was a retired Army veteran and served in the Korean War, the Vietnam War and Operation Desert Storm. He was a retired civil service employee.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Facundo; one son, William Facundo of Harvest; one daughter, Kristen Coppock of Houston, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Zachary 'Zach' Lamon Hillis
15, student

Funeral for Zachary "Zach" Lamon Hillis, 15, of Pensacola, Fla., was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Culberson and the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating.

Burial was to be in East Lawrence Cemetery.

Mr. Hillis died Sunday, July 30, 2000, in Florida.

He was born Aug. 10, 1984, in Decatur. He was a junior at Gulf Breeze High School in Pensacola. He is survived by his father, Gary Hillis of Decatur; his mother and stepfather, Beth and Michael Rhame of Pensacola; two stepsisters, Emily Hillis of Decatur and Ashley Rhame of Huntsville; grandparents, Eual and Peggy Lamon of Trinity; and great-grandparents, Jewel Jackson of Moulton and Maurice and Effie Lamon of Trinity.

Pallbearers were to be Jack Lamon, Tolly Lamon, Gordon Burden, Earl Leonard, Dale Strandige, Tommy Greeson, Mike Hubbard and Tommy Turner.

Willie George Miller

Funeral arrangements for Willie George Miller, 93, of Decatur, who died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000 at Sunbridge Nursing Home, will be announced by Reynolds Funeral Home.

Sharon Michelle Rivers
45, secretary

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Sharon Michelle DeMonia Rivers, 45, of Falkville, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery with Moss Service Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rivers died Monday, July 31, 2000, at her home. She was born Feb. 18, 1955, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Samuel Cecil DeMonia and Frances Pearl DeMonia. She was a secretary.

She is survived by her husband, Donald Rivers; two daughters, Hayley Michelle Rivers and Tiffany Nicole Rivers, both of Falkville; her mother of Falkville; and one brother, Michael Johnson of Hillsborough, N.C.

Bertha Shelton
67, homemaker

NORTHPORT -- Funeral for Bertha Shelton, 67, of Northport was Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Lankford and the Rev. Edward Wilson officiating.

Entombment was in the Serenity Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.

Mrs. Shelton died Sunday, July 30, 2000, at her home. She was born May 9, 1933, in Lawrence County. She was a homemaker and served in the ministry with her husband for 45 years.

She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Martin V. Shelton; four daughters, Delores Creel of Graysville, Reta Smith of Clarksville, Tenn., and Sandy Johnson and Joette Lowe, both of Northport; one brother, Billy Letson of Moulton; one sister, Gertha Oliver of Moulton; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Clint Johnson, Chris Piadrosich, Ed Booth, Dallas Letson, Eddie Swindle and Rodger Short.

Memorials may be made to the Alberta Church of God's Honduras Mission, 3722 First Street E. Tuscaloosa, Al, 35404.

Altha Lullene Taylor
82, homemaker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Altha Lullene Taylor, 82, of Cullman will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Hills Chapel Church of God with Moss Service Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Union Hill Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Taylor died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 8, 1918, in Cullman County to Elvie Pike. She was a homemaker and was the wife of the late Pascal Austin Taylor.

Mrs. Taylor is survived by one son, Mark W. Taylor of West Point; three daughters, Gwendolene Hill of Falkville, Phyllis Hollingsworth of Cullman and Joyce Mathis of Huntsville; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Ruby L. Williams
83, homemaker

Funeral for Ruby L. Williams, 83, of Danville will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeanne Earwood officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 12, 1917, in Morgan County to Lettie Mae Harp and John Harp.

She was a homemaker and a member of Upton Chapel United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Buren Williams.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Harp, Billy Harp, Terry Roberts, J.L. Morgan, Harold Biggs and Lamar Brown.

Helen Corinne Chambers
65, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Helen Corinne Chambers, 65, of Athens will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bud White officiating.

Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Chambers died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of Northside Church of Christ. She was the mother of the late John Howell Chambers and the sister of the late Billy Lovell.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Crawford Chambers Sr.; two sons, Robert Crawford Chambers Jr. and Samuel Keith Chambers, both of Athens; two daughters, Laurie Chambers Cannon and Connie Lee Chambers, both of Athens; her mother, Antate Evans of Athens; three brothers, Gerald Lovell, Jack Lovell and Larry Lovell, all of Athens; and four sisters, Joyce Malone of Nashville, Donna Cancel of Madison, and Faye Pugh and Dimple Barlow, both of Athens.

Pallbearers will be Michael Dorne, Jeff Pugh, Daniel Smith, Brian Barlow, Justin Smith and Matt Chambers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Juanita Black Cosby

ATHENS -- Funeral for Juanita Black Cosby, 100, of Tanner will be Saturday at noon at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Sandifer Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Thatch-Mann Cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Friday night from 6:30 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cosby died Monday, July 31, 2000, at home. She was born Dec. 11, 1899, in Limestone County to Ed Black and Rosie Malone Black. She was a homemaker and a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of the Rev. Mavon C. Cosby and the mother of the late James Cosby.

Survivors include two sons, Earnest Cosby of Tanner and Tommy Cosby of Chicago; one daughter, Georgia C. Nichols of Tanner; 22 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Odis 'John' Hamby
65, retired carpenter

MOULTON -- Funeral for Odis "John" Hamby, 65, of Moulton will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Elliot Funeral Home with C.G. Redding, Clyde Goodlett and Jim Poss officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hamby died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his home. He was born July 4, 1935, in Lawrence County. He retired as a carpenter from Local 1274 and was a member of Owen Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Arvola Morgan Hamby; one son, Gary Hamby of Moulton; one daughter, Vicky Hamby White of Moulton; one brother, Ollis Hamby of Moulton; four sisters, Bertie Parker, Eva Whisenant and Ona Whisenant, all of Moulton, and Edna Hamby of Fort Worth, Texas; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Reno Morgan, George Morgan, Larry Self, Richard King, Johnny Mac Hamby and Stephen Morgan.

June Kaikkonen
75, certified nurses' aide

MANCELONA, Mich. -- Funeral for June Kaikkonen, 75, of Madison will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Penzien Funeral Home in Mancelona with the Rev. Arulandu Arockiasamy of St. Anthony Catholic Church officiating.

Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Mancelona. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. A wake will be tonight at 7 at the funeral home. McConnell Funeral Home handled local arrangements.

Mrs. Kaikkonen died Monday, July 31, 2000, at her home. She was born June 4, 1925, in Detroit, Mich., to Harold LaBeau and Gusta LaBeau. She was a retired certified nurses' aide at Meadowbrook Medical Center in Bellaire, Mich. She was the widow of Paul A. Kaikkonen and the mother of the late Michael P. Kaikkonen and Sharon M. Marshall.

Survivors include one son, Steve Kaikkonen of Madison; one brother, Gerry LaBeau of Florida and Michigan; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Limestone County.

Willie 'Buck' Miller
93, Limestone native

Funeral for Willie George "Buck" Miller, 93, of Decatur will be Friday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. James Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery.

Mr. Miller died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Sunbridge Health Care Center. He was born May 20, 1907, in Limestone County to John Miller and Savannah Hayes Miller.

Survivors include three nephews, Jim Donald of Moulton, Thomas Miller of Madison and James Bibb of Cleveland, Ohio; and one niece, Savannah Hundley of Madison.

Katherine Mitchell Brothers
92, homemaker

Graveside service for Katherine Mitchell Brothers, 92, of Decatur will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Gene Lankford officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brothers died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 12, 1908, in Morgan County to Burt Mitchell and Jennie Berry Mitchell. She was a homemaker and mother of the late Julian Brothers and Wayne Brothers.

Survivors include her husband, A.B. Brothers; two sons, Thomas D. Brothers and Charles M. Brothers, both of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Brothers, Larry Hargett, Maynard Brothers, Mike Simpson, Jimmy Brothers, Stan Maner, Jeff Hill and Mark Speegle.

Memorials may be made to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity.
