Robert Wayne Fletcher
35, Decatur resident

Funeral for Robert Wayne Fletcher, 35, of Decatur will be Friday at noon at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Eddie Walton officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery.

Mr. Fletcher died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1964, in Morgan County to Anderson Holman and Frances Fletcher. He attended the Helen Keller School for the Blind and Deaf in Talladega.

Survivors include his father, Anderson Holman of Huntsville; eight brothers, James Fletcher, Christopher Fletcher and Roderick Fletcher, all of Decatur, Chip Holman of Huntsville, Patrick Holman and Ricky Holman, both of Atlanta, Darnell Holman of Athens, and Shannon Holman of Louisville, Ky.; four sisters, Sandra Kay Fletcher and Nancy Fletcher, both of Decatur, Sharon Fletcher of Birmingham and Patricia Holman of Florence; and his grandmother, Maggie Lee Holman of Tanner.

Allen C. 'Al' Moore
63, retired Army instructor

MARTINEZ, Ga. -- Funeral for Allen C. "Al" Moore, 63, of Martinez, formerly of Hartselle, was to be today at 11 a.m. at Elliott & Sons Funeral Home with Chaplain John Lau officiating.

Burial was to be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown, Ga., with full military honors.

Mr. Moore died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Doctors Hospital in Augusta, Ga. He was born Dec. 21, 1936, in Hartselle to Madison M. Moore and Fannie Mae Braselle Moore. He had lived in Augusta since 1954 when he was stationed at Camp Gordon Army Base. He retired from the Army as a master sergeant in 1974 after working 20 years as a telecommunications instructor. He was a veteran of the Korean War and Vietnam War, earning numerous citations, including the Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He became a civilian military employee in 1976 and worked in telecommunications until he retired in 1997. He was awarded the Superior Civilian Service Award in 1998 and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Survivors included his wife, Rose Moore; three daughters, Karen Sammons of Grovetown, Sharen Buckner of Bethlehem, Ga., and Susan Moore of Evans, Ga.; one brother, J.V. Moore of Hartselle; two sisters, Leona Eubanks and Katie Guthrie, both of Decatur; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2623 Washing Road, Augusta, GA 30904.

Frank Pungiture
87, retired machinist

MOULTON -- Graveside service for Frank Pungiture, 87, of Largo, Fla., will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Moulton Memory Gardens with the Rev. Hollis Rutherford officiating and Elliott Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Pungiture died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in Florida. He was born April 24, 1913, in Norwood, Mass. He was a retired machinist. He was the widower of Dorothy Hurry Pungiture.

Survivors include two sons, Frank J. Pungiture of McHenry, Ill., and James Osbourn of Evanston, Ill.; four daughters, Dorothy Butler of Bel-Aire Bluffs, Fla., Theresa Modelski of Chicago, Betty Howard of Duluth, Minn. and Ruth Hayes of Moulton; one sister, Kate Lanno of St. Petersburg, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Alice Posey Sherman
96, homemaker

Funeral for Alice Posey Sherman, 96, of Decatur will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Bentley and the Rev. Phillip Sessions officiating.

Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. at Bethsada Cemetery in Cullman County. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sherman died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, in Decatur. She was born March 6, 1904, in Blount County to Simon Peter Walker and Nola Estelle Chambers Walker. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Henry Posey and the mother of the late Dessie Posey and Ressie Posey.

Survivors include four sons, Robert E. Posey and Floyd Posey, both of Decatur, Dee Posey of Trinity and Harold Posey of Somerville; four daughters, Beula Brown of Priceville, Audie Morgan of Hartselle, Christine Hartselle of Decatur and Ora Dean Holbert of Trinity; 24 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Charlcie Corene Aday
80, homemaker

TRINITY -- Funeral for Charlcie Corene Aday, 80, of Trinity will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Wallace Fuller and the Rev. Keith Jones officiating.

Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends to night from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Aday died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 1, 1920, in Lawrence County to Asberry Tucker and Savannah Tucker. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel Horace Aday and Gerald W. Aday Sr., both of Trinity; her brother, Grady Tucker of Moulton; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Laron Aday, Mark Aday, Wayne Aday, James Tucker, Elton Hamilton, Kevin Proctor and Dalton Tucker.

Ada Bell Cain

ATHENS -- Funeral for Ada Bell Cain, formerly of Athens, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Cumberland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John W. Jude officiating and Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Cain died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in Columbus, Ohio. She was the wife of the late Willie Cain.

Survivors include one son, Ray Cain of Columbus, Ohio; and one grandson.

Orville Levoid Chambers
51, Athens fireman

ATHENS -- Funeral for Orville Levoid Chambers, 51, of Athens will be Friday at 2 p. m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Tim Anderson and Larry Inman officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Chambers died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, in Florida. He was born Dec. 14, 1948, in Limestone County. He worked as a fireman for the city of Athens for 22 years and was a member of Clements Baptist Church.

Survivors include his two daughters, Chasty Chambers Greer of Athens and Ashley Chambers of Elkmont; one son, Zach Chambers of Elkmont; his mother, Earline Chambers of Athens; two brothers, Roger Chambers and Jackie Chambers, both of Athens; three sisters, Glenda Lovell of Decatur, Starlet Harwell and Jennifer Pendagrass, both of Athens; and one grandson.

Pallbearers will be W.A. Hardiman, Larry Swanner, Jerry Smith, Mark Hamilton, Leslie Williams, Danny Smith, Raymond Williams and Paul Anton.

Robert Dwayne Davis Sr.
56, Town Creek fire chief

MOULTON -- Funeral for Robert Dwayne Davis Sr., 56, of Town Creek will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Crumton officiating.

Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Town Creek. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Davis died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at his residence. He was born March 11, 1944, in Lawrence County to Carl Davis and Junita Davis. He was the Town Creek Fire Chief. He was a member of Old Liberty Congregational Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ila Mae Davis; three sons, Robert "Tooter" Davis Jr. of Killen, Buford Carl Davis and Phillip Jarome Tidwell, both of Town Creek; four brothers, Billy Joe Davis and D.C. Davis, both of Town Creek, John "Pee Wee" Davis of East Lawrence and Mike Clifton Davis of Falkville; five sisters, Edith Noble of Decatur, Jane Martin, Bobbie Elliott, Linda Landers and Mary Coan, all of Town Creek; and four grandchildren.

Firemen and Policemen will be pallbearers.

Martin Zebedee Gardner
81, retired asbestos worker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Martin Zebedee Gardner of Cullman will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Brandon Loyd and the Rev. Bill Glasscock officiating.

Burial will be in Mission Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Martin died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at home. He was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Cullman County to James Harvey Gardner and Pearly Knighten Gardner. He retired as an asbestos worker from Local 78 in Birmingham. He was a founder of Mission Grove Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher for 52 years. He was the widower of Mamie Doll Dotson Gardner, the brother of the late Henry Gardner, Edward Gardner, James Gardner, Dalice Gardner and Dorothy Allred and the grandfather of the late Gretchen Gardner.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Gardner; five sons, William Smith, Dewey Gardner, Roy Gardner, Daymon Gardner and Tim Gardner, all of Cullman; three daughters, Betty Teichmiller of Hartselle, Ruby Sellers of Cullman and Judy Tipton of Baileyton; one stepson, Robbie Dunston of Panama City Beach, Fla.; one brother, Howard Gardner of Cullman; five sisters, Fannie Clayton of Birmingham, Mittie Shaw of Cullman, Dodie Hood of Addison, Audrey Kiser of Louisiana and Velma Everett of Addison; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

Grandsons will be pallbearers. Members of Local 78 in Birmingham will be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Mission Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 111 Cullman County 1610, Cullman, Al. 35058, or to Cullman County Hospice.

Mildred Smith Haddock
81, homemaker

FLORENCE -- Funeral for Mildred Smith Haddock, 81, of Florence will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Elkins Funeral Home with Mike Colston officiating.

Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Haddock died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2000, at Mitchell-Hollingsworth Annex. She was born April 21, 1919, in Mount Hope to Bevlin "Jake" Smith and Minnie Lee Sons Smith. She was a homemaker and a member of Central Heights Baptist Church, in which she was active in the church's community activites, and an accomplished seamstress. She was the widow of Clifford Ray Haddock and the sister of the late Alter Smith.

Survivors include two sons, Ray Haddock and Ronnie Haddock, both of Florence; two sisters, Nadine Simpson of Moulton and Ernestine Brown of Green field, Ind.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Mac Simpson, Ronnie Terry, Louie Smith III, Richard Smith, Lloyd Haddock, Jack Broadfoot and Willie Robb.

James 'June' McBride
54, framer, construction worker

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for James "June" McBride, 54, of Toney was Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Watts officiating.

Burial was in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.

Mr. McBride died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Dec. 31, 1947, in Madison County. He was a framer and a home construction worker.

Survivors include his wife, Helen McBride; one son, Heath McBride of Hazel Green ; three daughters, Demanda Clemons of Huntsville, and Tina Lutchen and Dawn Burton, both of Park City, Tenn.; two stepsons, Bobby Darin Martin of Decatur and Eric Crow of Toney; his father and stepmother, James and Sharon McBride of Huntsville; his mother, Louise Key of Harvest; four sisters, Elizabeth Ann Nichols of Madison, Sally McBride of New Market, Judy Cryer of Harvest and Janie McMahan of Huntsville; seven grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

Imogene Clemons Miller
64, retired waitress

Funeral for Imogene Clemons Miller, 64, of Decatur will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. James Chitwood officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Miller died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Morgan County to Marvin Clemons and Carrie Mae Sykes Clemons. She was a Baptist and a retired waitress. Mrs. Miller died shortly after the death of her son Jerry Lee Miller.

Survivors include three sons, Eual Miller and Terry Miller, both of Decatur, and Richard Miller of Belle Mina; two sisters, Eleanor Logan of Birmingham and Ellen Piper of Tampa, Fla., and two grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Jerry Lee Miller
39, laborer

Jerry Lee Miller, 39, of Decatur died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital.

Mr. Miller was born Oct. 30, 1960, in Hartselle, to J.W. Miller and Imogene Clemons Miller. He was a laborer. Mr. Miller's mother died shortly after his death.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Miller; one daughter, Bridgette Miller of Decatur; his father of Falkville; two brothers, Terry Miller of Decatur and Richard Miller of Belle Mina; and one half-brother, Eual Miller of Decatur.

Shelton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
