TRINITY -- Funeral for Mavis Lorene Reed Jones, 76, of Trinity will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home with the Rev. Junior Hawkins and the Rev. Bill Pullen officiating. Burial will be in Moulton Memory Garden. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Jan. 3, 1924, in Lawrence County to Clyde and Alleyne Reed. She was a homemaker, a member of Fish Pond Baptist Church and the widow of Lloyd Jones.

Survivors include three sons, Conrey Jones of Hillsboro, Buddy Jones of Decatur and Waymon Jones of Trinity; one daughter, Linda Jones of Trinity; one sister, Vernice Wilson of Moulton; and three grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Ruth Vera Lemons
71, Wal-Mart retiree

ARAB -- Funeral for Ruth Vera Lemons, 71, of Arab, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Arab Memorial Funeral Home with Roland Westermoreland and Larry Fincher officiating.

Burial was to be in Shoal Creek Cemetery.

Mrs. Lemons died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Decatur. She was born April 15, 1929, in Morgan County to Edgar Baker and Alice Bramlett Baker. She was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church and retired from Wal-Mart.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela Lemons of Vinemont and Nancy Burgett of Montgomery; two sons, Marlin Lemons of Vinemont and Allen Lemons of Decatur; one sister, Hilda Burns of Pine Ridge; three brothers, Leon Baker and Wayne Baker, both of Pine Ridge, and Don Baker of Huntsville; two grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Irene Woodard McNatt
85, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Irene Woodard McNatt, 85, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Rick Craft officiating.

Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Mrs. McNatt died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Aug. 27, 1914, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, James Edward McNatt of Falkville, Harold Dean McNatt of Madison, William Loyd McNatt of Harvest and Hollis Wayne McNatt of Athens; four daughters, Elizabeth Ann Dykes of New Mexico, Mary Gomez of Washington, Deborah Jo McNatt of Dade City, Fla. and Barbara Jane McNatt of Athens; 31 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Rachel W. Rushing
77, homemaker

Graveside service for Rachel W. Rushing, 77, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tuscaloosa with the Rev. Sam Haun officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Mrs. Rushing died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Pinson to Edwin Samuel Watson and Rita Morton Watson.

She was a former member of Burningtree Country Club and a former member of First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Robert O. Rushing; one son, Robert O. Rushing Jr. of Cummin, Ga.; one daughter, Rachel A. Rushing of St. Paul, Minn.; and two grandchildren.

Orville Charles Taylor
80, retired Monsanto employee

Funeral for Orville Charles Taylor, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with a military graveside service. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Taylor died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Jan. 9, 1920, in Bay City, Mich. He was retired from Monsanto, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was married to the late Glena West Taylor.

Survivors include three daughters, Jenny Taylor of Decatur, Sandra Deal of Michigan and Colleen Taylor of Kentucky; and seven grandchildren.

Glena West Taylor
76, homemaker

Funeral for Glena West Taylor, 76, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Taylor died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at her home. She was born June 10, 1924, in Hopkinsville, Ky., to Samuel West and Sadie Lucindy West. She was the widow of Orville Charles Taylor and a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Duvall of Nashville and Tom Duvall of Lemoore, Calif.; two daughters, Jenny Taylor of Decatur and Gail Loftus of Hopkinsville; three brothers, Jerry West and Paul West, both of Hopkinsville, and Hoppy West of Evansville, Ind.; one sister, Bea Johns of Hopkinsville; and 11 grandchildren.

Janice Gwendolyn Barnett
62, Tee Jay's Manufacturing employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Janice Gwendolyn Barnett, 62, of Rogersville was to be today at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home with Daniel Ridinger officiating.

Burial was to be in Miller Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnett died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1937, in Lauderdale County. She was an employee at Tee Jay's Manufacturing in Florence and a member of Oliver Church of Christ.

Survivors include one son, Troy Lawrence Barnett of Rogersville; two daughters, A. Machelle Fink and Melissa Ann Morris, both of Rogersville; one sister, Willie Alexander of Killen; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Shannon White, Greg Alexander, Mike Alexander, Tony Alexander, Brad Wall, Cory Ball, Kerry Grisham and Randy Patterson.

Eva Mae Bell
88, homemaker

Funeral for Eva Mae Bell, 88, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. Percy Jackson officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Bell died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Alice Kidd Nursing Home in Tuscaloosa. She was born May 3, 1912, in Morgan County to Sam Stover and Laura Roebuck Stover. A homemaker, she attended Morgan County Training School and was a member of Hartselle First Baptist Church where she was in the choir, taught Sunday school and was secretary of the Baptist Young People's Union. She was the widow of Lucious Bell.

Survivors include two sons, John B. Bell of Hartselle and James T. Orr of Talladega; four daughters, Ethel Jones of Decatur, Betty Foster of Hartselle, Eparazell Robinson of South Carolina and Ida Kelly of Nakoma, Fla.; and 17 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jessie O. Jackson, Charles Ratliff, Shelby Williams Jr., Walter Osborne, Clarence Orr and Amos Young.

Geneva Beard Belser
87, nurse, X-ray technician

Graveside service for Geneva Beard Belser, 87, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Hal Noble and the Rev. John Clotfelter officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Belser died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Jan. 3, 1913, in Pontotoc, Miss., to Edgar Eugene Beard and Alice Dugger Beard. She was a member for more than 60 years of Central United Methodist Church, where she taught the Fidelis Help Others Sunday school class. She was retired registered nurse and X-ray technician. She was the widow of Howard McGriff Belser Sr.

Survivors include one son, Howard McGriff Belser III of Decatur; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be J. Timothy Kyle, James R. Mason Jr., Henry Z. McCrary, Neal P. Conner, Wesley M. Lavender and Dr. James B. Wiley Jr.

Memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church or a favorite charity.

Graveside service for Nell Page Gregg, 96, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Ralph Stout officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gregg died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Summerford Nursing Home in Falkville. She was born Sept. 7, 1903, in Tennessee. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Grant Street Church of Christ. She was the widow of Ewell K. Gregg Sr. and the mother of the late Jean Shelton Bloodworth.

Survivors include one son, Ewell K. Gregg Jr., of Decatur; three daughters, Martha Gregg Hughes of Auburn, Eleanor Barbee of Louisville, Ky., and Carolyn Place of Evergreen, Colo.; one stepbrother, Charles David Page of Tanner; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Dewaine S. Hogan

Greenville, S.C. -- Graveside service for Dewaine S. Hogan, 52, of Greenville, S.C. and formerly of Morgan County will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greenville Memorial Cemeter with Greenville Memorial Garden Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8:30 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hogan died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2000, at Greenville Hospital. He was born Nov. 18, 1948, in Texas to Vermont Hogan and Ora Williams Hogan.

He was a 1966 graduate of Falkville High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was the widower of Janet Hogan.

Survivors include two sons, Andy Hogan and Chad Hogan, both of Greenville; one brother, Ronald Hogan of Tennessee; four sisters, Phyllis Merdith of Tennessee, Brenda Quattlebum of Logan, Carol Holladay of Danville and Robin Vest of Hartselle; and two grandchildren.

Curtis Lee McDonald Sr.

TUSCUMBIA -- Funeral for Curtis Lee McDonald Sr., 77, of Town Creek will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Bakari Brown officiating.

Burial will be in Warren Cemetery with Thompson and Son Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McDonald died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Sunbridge Nursing Home in Sheffield. He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Lawrence County to Coley McDonald and Lillie McDonald. He was a lifelong resident of Town Creek and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Robert McDonald, John McDonald and Curtis McDonald Jr., all of Town Creek; two brothers, Tom McDonald of Chattanooga, and Taft McDonald of Town Creek; one sister, Corine Spangler of Town Creek; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
