ADRIAN, Mich. -- Funeral for Ruby Jane Humphres Sumner, 74, of Adrian will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Anderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Wonn officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, Mich. The family will receive friends Friday from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sumner died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. She was born July 25, 1926, in Decatur to E.W. Moore and Ruby Black Moore. She was employed by Stubnitz Green for 25 years and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Adrian. She was an avid reader and enjoyed working with her house plants. She was the widow of Ellis Humphres.

Survivors include one son, Ellis O'Neal Humphres Jr. of Tecumseh; five daughters, Brenda Fox of Britton, Mich., Marcia R. Kinsey of Morenci; Sharon A. Mossing of Waldron, Mich., Lisa Brown of Battle Creek, Mich., and Linda Sumner of Hamilton; one brother, Herbert Moore of Decatur; one sister, Ada Mae Borden of Trinity; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Jessie Lucille Shoulders Thompson
66, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Jessie Lucille Shoulders Thompson, 66, of Athens will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Sanderfer Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery with Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Thompson died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at her home. She was born Dec. 10, 1933, in Limestone County to Bill Shoulders and Hazel Fuqua Shoulders. She was a homemaker and member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Travis Shoulders and Roderick O'Neal Shoulders, both of Athens; one daughter, Teresa Shoulders of Athens; one sister, Emma White of Athens; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Myrtle Lyle Allen
65, homemaker
Funeral for Myrtle Lyle Allen, 65, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Lewis officiating.

Burial will be in Bell Church Cemetery with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be in church one hour before the service Saturday.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Nov. 7, 1934, in Morgan County to Willie Lyle and Bertha Polk Lyle. She was a member of Greater St. Paul's Spiritual Church, and sang with Decatur Interfaith Choir and the Excelsior's Singers. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, George Allen Sr.; three sons, the Rev. George Allen Jr. and James Allen, both of Decatur, and the Rev. Michael Allen of Athens; five daughters, Peggy Allen, Susie Allen, Patrina Allen and Cynthia Allen, all of Decatur, and Emma Allen of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Elijah Harris of Decatur; one sister, Jacqueline Omar of Louisville, Ky; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Benjamin Burt, Carl Garth, Rodney Carter, Willie Townsend, Leo Gray, and James Allen.

Linda Sherri Condry
53, licensed practical nurse

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Linda Sherri Condry, 53, of Hartselle will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Nappier officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Condry died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at her residence. She was born Nov. 28, 1946, in Jefferson County to Leonard E. Bates Sr. and Etta Mae Bates. She was a licensed practical nurse and a member of the Baptist church.

Survivors include her husband, Jim Condry; one son, Steven Barnett of Hudson, Fla.; two daughters, Stacy Barnett Kilborn of Hartselle and Dana Barnett Owens of Alabaster; her mother, who lives in Hartselle; two brothers, Leonard E. Bates Jr., and Larry J. Bates of Pascagoula, Miss.; one sister, Gaye Royuallyn Crocker of Trussville; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ron Johnson, Patrick Johnson, Jerry King, Robert Condrey, Eddie Condrey, Eddie Crocker and Gerald Taylor.

Erdis Erlene Cosby

ATHENS -- Funeral for Erdis Erlene Cosby, 90, of Rogersville will be Saturday at noon at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Romine Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cosby died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence.

Complete arrangements will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.

William Andrew Jackson
93, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral service for William Andrew Jackson, 93, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Clem and the Rev. Edward "Buddy" Payne officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Jackson died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at his home. He was born Sept. 19, 1907, in Limestone County. He was a member of Faith Pentecostal Church, the widower of Virginia Mae Jackson and a retired farmer.

Survivors include one son, Winston Jackson of Athens; two daughters, Kathleen Jewell and Judy Collins, both of Athens; one brother, Tommy Benjamin Jackson of Goodletsville, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Grandsons and great-grandsons will be pallbearers.

William Arthur Lawrence
69, retired test engineer

Graveside memorial service for William Arthur Lawrence, 69, of Falkville, will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.

Mr. Lawrence died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Feb. 27, 1931, in Morgan County to Spurgen and Marie Lawrence. Before retiring, he was an Army colonel for 24 years, serving in the Korean War and two tours of duty in the Vietnam War. He had worked at Colsa in Huntsville after his retirement as a test engineer.

He is survived by two sons, William A. Lawrence II and Christopher A. Lawrence, both of Virginia.

Memorial donations, flowers and sympathy cards may be sent to Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA 22211.

Gladys Mae Phillips
80, homemaker

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Gladys Mae Phillips, 80, of Lancaster, Pa., will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Limestone Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Phillips died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in Lancaster. She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Scottsville, Va. She was a member of Hanover Christian Church in Richmond, Va., and a homemaker.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Werman of Lancaster; one brother, Lawrence Joseph Moyer of Charlottesville, Va.; three grandchildren of Athens; and one great-grandchild.

Dovie Irene Reels

Funeral arrangements for Dovie Irene Reels, 78, of Athens, who died today, Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital, will be announced by Spry Funeral Home.

Jessie Lucille Shoulders-Thompson
66, homemaker

TANNER -- Funeral for Jessie Lucille Shoulders-Thompson, 66, of Athens will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Sanderfer Jr. officiating.

Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery with People's Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church at noon.

Mrs. Cosby died Thursday, Oct. 12, 2000, at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital in Florence. She was born July 8, 1910, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker and a member of Romine Church of Christ. She was the widow of James H. Cosby.

Survivors include three sons, Jimmy Wayne Cosby and Ralph Dean Cosby, both of Rogersville, and Thomas Dale Cosby of Signal Mountain, Tenn.; three daughters, Janice Malone and Anne Hester, both of Rogersville, and Beth Schiffbauer of Middletown, R.I.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Marty Cosby, Ricky Davis, Billy Davis, Mike Davis, Tommy Davis and Luther Stark.

Clara Haynes
75, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Clara Haynes, 75, of Hillsboro will be Sunday at 11 a.m. at First Apostolic Church with F.A. Shepard officiating.

Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the church.

Mrs. Haynes died Friday, Oct. 13, 2000, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Dec. 31, 1924, in Lawrence County to Raymond and Anna Roy. She was a homemaker. She was widow of David Haynes and the mother of the late Gary Dean Haynes.

Survivors include seven sons, Jerry Haynes of Priceville, Steve Haynes of Moulton, Stanley Haynes, Winford Haynes and Keith Haynes, all of Trinity, and Tim Haynes and Kenny Haynes, both of Hillsboro; three sisters, Edith Smith of Toledo, Ohio, and Gracie Haynes and Opal McClusky, both of Trinity; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Carl Smith, Kevin Smith, Brian Proctor, Scotty Proctor, Alan Hutto, Danny Gillespie, Jim Haynes and Chris Skipworth.

William Arthur Lawrence
69, retired test engineer

Graveside memorial service for William Arthur Lawrence, 69, of Falkville will be at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., at a later date.
