Peter Carl Boni
86, truck driver
Graveside service for Peter Carl Boni, 86, of Decatur will be announced by Shelton Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Hillside, Ill.

Mr. Boni died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at NHC Healthcare of Moulton. He was born June 27, 1914, in Illinois to Daniel Boni and Phyllis Bronge Boni. He was a self-employed truck driver and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Boni; and one son, Daniel Boni of Northbrook, Ill.

James A. Rogers

WEBSTER, Texas -- Funeral for James A. Rogers, 74, of Pasadena, Texas, formerly of Decatur, will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Forrest Park East Funeral Home.

Mr. Rogers died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at home. He was born May 21, 1926, in Morgan County to Ralph and Minnie Rogers.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Rogers of Pasadena; one daughter, Patricia Rogers of College Station, Texas; one brother, Gene Rogers of Hartselle; four sisters, Mamie Rogers of Falkville, Jewell Johnson of Gadsden, Ruby Huskey and Martha Patterson, both of Hartselle; and two grandsons.

James Warren Case Sr.
85, retired Athens Electric Department service manager

ATHENS -- Graveside service for James Warren Case Sr., 85, of Athens will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery with the Rev. William Robert Sharman III and the Rev. Eddie Gooch officiating and McConnell Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Case died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 23, 1915, in Giles County, Tenn. He was a retired Athens Electric Department service manager and a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a World War II Army veteran who served with Gen. George Patton in seven major European battles.

Survivors include his son, James Warren Case Jr. of Harvest; one sister, Mary Case of Athens; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Clifford O. Mankins
83, retired farmer

ATHENS -- Funeral for Clifford O. Mankins, 83, of Lester was to be today at 2 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Mike Poff officiating.

Burial was to be in New Salem Cemetery.

Mr. Mankins died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Jan. 23, 1917, in Giles County, Tenn. He was a retired farmer. He was the father of the late Wayne Mankins.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Mankins; one son, Daniel Mankins of Minor Hill, Tenn.; two sisters, Eva Hodges of Sand Springs, Okla. and Julia Cherry of Nashville; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers were to be Danny Kieff, David Kieff, Lowell Holmes, David Holmes, Randy Mashburn and Milton Owens.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Hospital in Memphis.

The Rev. Johnny K. Mayfield
87, farmer and Baptist minister

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for the Rev. Johnny K. Mayfield, 87, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Moses officiating.

Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens.

Mr. Mayfield died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born Jan. 15, 1913, in Lawrence County to William Thomas Mayfield and Mary Magdalene McDaniels Mayfield. He was a farmer and a Baptist minister.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Harvel Mayfield of Falkville Health Care Center; four sons, John W. "Bud" Mayfield of Florence, Robert Earl Mayfield of Decatur and Jimmy Ray Mayfield and Roy Benford Mayfield, both of Hartselle; one daughter, Jean Vest of Eva; 10 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Vest, Mike Vest, Steve Mayfield, Mark Mayfield, Brad Mayfield, Bret Mayfield, Bart Mayfield and Bryan Mayfield.

Wendellyn Gray 'Wyn' Sittason

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Wendellyn Gray "Wyn" Sittason, 72, of Hartselle will be Friday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sittason died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center.

Complete arrangements will be announced by Peck Funeral Home.

Winifred H. Stevens
66, Philly Cigar Co. employee

Graveside service for Winifred H. Stevens, 66, of Decatur was to be today at 2:30 at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. John White officiating.

The family was to receive friends today from 1 to 2 at Shelton Funeral Home.

Mrs. Stevens died at home Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000. She was born Sept. 28, 1934, in Germantown, Penn. She was a member of Decatur Christian Fellowship. She wrapped cigars for the Philly Cigar Co. of Philadelphia and moved to Decatur about 15 years ago.

Survivors include one son, John Stevens of Decatur; one daughter, Kim Stevens of San Bernardino, Calif.; one brother; and five grandchildren.

Jack L. Wright
63, retired supervisor

BIRCH RUN, Mich. -- Funeral for Jack L. Wright, 63, of Birch Run will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Frankenmuth United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kenneth L. Christler officiating.

Burial will be in Birch Run Cemetery with Krauss-Torhan Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends today from noon to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Wright died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Frankenmuth Care Center. He was born June 22, 1937, in Rich Township, Lapeer County, Mich., to James Wright and Mary Krantz Wright. He retired as a supervisor at General Motors V-8 Engine Plant in 1987, after 30 years of service. He was a member of the Frankenmuth Conservation Club, Frankenmuth American Legion, Saginaw Gun Club, Vassar Golf & Country Club, and Masonic Lodge No. 394 F&AM of Mayville.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Beverly Blackmore Wright; one son, Scott Wright of Frankenmuth; one daughter, Allison Shook of Frankfort, Ill.; one brother, David Wright of Davison, Mich.; two sisters, Karen Middleton of Athens and Helen Day of Bayonet Point, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Frankenmuth Conservation Club, Frankenmuth United Methodist Church or the Hospice of Hope of Frankenmuth.

Shalvy 'Lester' Burks
60, self-employed carpenter

HUNTSVILLE -- Funeral for Shalvy "Lester" Burks, 60, of Huntsville will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Bright Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America with the Rev. Theodis Acklin officiating.

Burial will be in Thatch-Mann Cemetery with Nelms Memorial Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before services.

Mr. Burks died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 28, 1940, in Limestone County to Shalvy Burks and Della Anderson Burks. He was a self-employed carpenter.

Survivors include six sons, the Rev. Rickey Burks, the Rev. Stoney Burks, the Rev. Stevie Mike Burks, the Rev. Corey Lee Burks and Christopher Burks, all of Athens, and Ryan O'Neal Burks of Huntsville; three daughters, Dorrine Burks McLin and the Rev. Victoria Burks, both of Athens, and Bridgett Burks Bailey of Madison; his mother of Huntsville; two brothers, Billy Ray Pryor of Athens and Robert Anderson of Madison; four sisters, Della M. Staton of Rockford, Ill., Edna Anderson of Athens, the Rev. Aldene Lockett of Chicago and the Rev. Shirley T. Burks of Huntsville; one stepson, the Rev. Willie J. Mangruen of Athens; three stepdaughters, Bessie Dee Pryor, Earnestine Turner and Annette Wiggins, all of Athens; 16 grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.

Marion Webber Dyer
95, homemaker

LARGO, Fla. -- Funeral for Marion Webber Dyer, 95, of Eva will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Moss-Feasters Funeral Home with Laughlin Service Funeral Home in charge of local arrangements.

Burial will be in Serenity Gardens Memorial Cemetery in Largo.

Mrs. Dyer died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, in Moulton. She was born Jan. 20, 1905, in Chicago to the late Harry W. Webber and Ada Barnes Webber. She was a homemaker, a member of Christ Presbyterian Church in Largo and member of the Crafters group there. She was the widow of the late Frederick Dyer and the sister of the late Lillian Beck, Margaret Smulle and Robert W. Webber.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy M. Conklin of Eva and Marjorie J. Northrop of Sherwood, Ark.; one son, F. Richard Dyer of Hillsdale, N.Y.; one sister, Florence E. Huyler of Largo; two brothers, Harry W. Webber of Largo, and David G. Webber of Penobscot, Maine; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.

Barbara Williams Melson
52, home health aide

MOULTON -- Funeral for Barbara Williams Melson, 52, of Paw Paw, Mich., will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with the Rev. Rickey Harville officiating.

Burial will be in Youngtown Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ms. Melson died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Mich. She was born June 23, 1948, to Leon Williams and Etta Yarbrough Williams. She was a member of the Center of Life Church in Paw Paw, Mich., and Cornerstone Christian Church in Moulton.

Survivors include one son, Kevin Melson of Decatur; two daughters, Melissa Cooper and Bridget Hill, both of Moulton; her father, her stepmother, Talley Williams, of Danielsville, Ga.; two brothers, L.D. Williams and Lester Williams, both of Paw Paw, Mich.; one sister, Patsy Naylor of Moulton; her stepfather, George Williams of Decatur; two stepbrothers, Darrell Regan of California and Glenn Regan Illinois; five grandchildren; four step grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Regan, Glenn Regan, James Hill, Chad Richardson, Doug Borden, Jason Wiley, Mike Melson, Nicholas Williams and Chad Melson.

Pearl Miller Murphy
90, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Pearl Miller Murphy, 90, of Falkville will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ken Dunivant and the Rev. David Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Murphy died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Aug. 7, 1910, in Morgan County to Silas Miller and Julia Stedham Miller. She was a homemaker and member of First United Methodist Church in Decatur. She was the widow of Leroy Murphy and mother of the late Harold L. Murphy.

Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Schooley of Lacey's Spring, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be John Halbert, Dale McCutcheon, Gary Miller, Pruitt Miller, Don Murphy, Michael Murphy and Steve Turney.

Wendellyn 'Wyn' Gray Sittason
72, retired Realtor

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Wendellyn "Wyn" Gray Sittason, 72, of Hartselle will be Friday at 1 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hartselle with the Rev. W.G. Henry, the Rev. Bill Wright and the Rev. Ralph Bates officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sittason died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Hartselle Medical Center. She was born May 30, 1928, in Morgan County to Robert Joseph Gray and Madeline Nunley "McAnn" Gray.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Hartselle and served as president of the United Methodist Women. She was a Sunday school teacher, the church librarian, a member of the church administrative council, a choir member for more than 30 years and Current Review Club member. Mrs. Sittason served for years as a polling inspector at Sparkman Civic Center and retired as a Realtor in 1996 from Hartselle Real Estate, now called Coldwell Bankers Team.

She was a case worker for the Department of Human Resources in Decatur and Birmingham. She graduated from Decatur High School and Huntingdon College, and served on the Huntingdon College National Alumni Association Board.

Survivors include her husband, Robert D. Sittason Jr.; three sons, Randall Gray Sittason of Beaumont, Texas, Robert Dare Sittason III and Dr. David Bryant Sittason, both of Hartselle; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be John Braswell, J.P. Cain, Bill Camp, A.J. Coleman, Dr. Charles Howell, Charlie Jones, Bobby Martin and Dr. Walter Walker.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Capital Building Fund at 210 E. Hickory St., Hartselle, AL 35640.
