Grace Hopkins Clevinger
79, homemaker

NARROWS, Va. -- Funeral for Grace Hopkins Clevinger, 79, of Narrows will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Riffe's Funeral Service, Inc., with the Rev. Chris Michael officiating.

Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg, Va. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Clevinger died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Duke Medical Center in Durham, N.C. She was born March 12, 1920, in Pike County, Ky., to Luther and Florance Hopkins. She was the widow of Coy Clevinger and mother of the late Gary S. Clevinger. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Norman R. Clevinger of Decatur; one daughter, Debbie Strenkowski of Cary, N.C.; two brothers, Luke Hopkins of Pearisburg and Paul Reed Hopkins of Pike County, Ky.; one sister, Ocie Collins of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Thoracic Oncology Program, Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center, P.O. Box 3198, Durham, N.C., 27710.

G.B. Cox

MOULTON -- Funeral for G.B. Cox, 73, of Moulton will be today at 11 a.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Jimmy Stewart officiating.

Burial will be in Ferguson Cemetery.

Mr. Cox died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at National Health Care. He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in Lawrence County.

He is survived by two brothers, McKinley Cox of Mount Hope and Eligah Cox of Town Creek; and one sister, Lois Cartee of Town Creek.

Pallbearers will be Bill Cox, Ted Bradford, Joe Garrisson, William Latham, Johnnie Willis and Paul Cartee.

Steven Ross Gammon

ATHENS -- Funeral for Steven Ross Gammon, 42, of Athens will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Limestone Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Gammon died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Feb. 24, 1957, in Kentucky. He was a member of New Life Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Tracie Gammon; two stepsons, Anthony McDavid and Aaron McDavid, both of Gonzales, La.; his father, Shirley T. Gammon of Indiana; his mother, Erma Josephine Dziurgot of Detroit, Mich.; his stepfather, Leonard Dziurgot of Detroit; one brother, Olen Gammon of Michigan; two sisters, Chirleen Wilson of New Boston, Mich., and Vickie Brooks of Lincoln Park, Mich.; and his grandmother, Bessie Stice of Bowling Green , Ky.

Pallbearers will be Glen G. Dutton, Glen G. Dutton Jr., John Dutton and Ronald Roland.

M. Lorraine Wickey
79, homemaker

Memorial service for M. Lorraine Wickey, 79, of Decatur will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Wright, Rev. John Clotfelter and Rev. Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Wickey died Sept. 19, 1999, at Morningside Assisted Living. She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in St. Louis. A homemaker, she was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Joan Hudson of Decatur and Jacqueline Anderson of Stockton, Mo.; one brother, William M. Kaller Jr. of St. Louis; one sister, Marcella Grimler of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley or Camp Bluebird, care of Decatur General Foundation.

H.T. 'Hank' Cook
67, retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant

CULLMAN -- Funeral for H.T. "Hank" Cook, 67, of Hartselle will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Moss Funeral Home with the Rev. John Bain and the Rev. Tim Box officiating.

Burial will be in Cullman Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends today at 5 at the funeral home.

Mr. Cook died Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born March 1, 1932, in Cullman. He was a member and deacon of Oak Park Baptist Church and Mason.

He was a retired U.S. Air Force master sergeant and a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired Wal-Mart store manager.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Cook; one son, Terry Cook of Logan; one daughter, Kay Alvis of Hartselle; one sister, Marge Burrows of Addison; and three grandchildren.

Dr. Donald W. Brice
67, retired physician
DOTHAN -- Funeral for Dr. Donald W. Brice, 67, of Dothan will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Byrd Funeral Home with Dr. George Gilbert officiating.

Burial will be in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Brice died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Flowers Hospital. He was born May 29, 1932, in Birmingham. He was a 1954 graduate of Harvard University where he received a biology degree. He was a 1958 graduate of Medical College of Alabama and completed his ear, nose and throat residency at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham in 1966. He established an ear, nose and throat medical office in Dothan where he practiced medicine for 28 years before retiring in 1996. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was the father of the late Paul Brice.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Brice; three sons, Donald Brice Jr. and Charles Brice, both of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Richard Brice of Dothan; seven stepsons, Martin Hollenbeck Sr. of White Rock, S.C., David Hollenbeck of Buckeye, Ariz., Thomas Hollenbeck of Knoxville, Joseph Hollenbeck of Decatur, James Hollenbeck of Centerville, Va., Stephen Hollenbeck of Spartanburg, S.C., and Michael Hollenbeck of Wetumpka; one brother, Lawrence Brice of Atlanta; two granddaughters; 13 step-grandchildren; and two great-step-grandchildren.

His sons and stepsons will be pallbearers.

William Raymond 'Bill' Carroll
45, planning engineer

Funeral for William Raymond "Bill" Carroll, 45, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Sexton officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the church with Rosary at 8.

Mr. Carroll died Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Parkway Medical Center Hospital. He was born Oct. 17, 1953, in Amarillo, Texas. He was a planning engineer for Austin-Alberici-Boeing and a member of St. Ann Catholic Church. He lived in Decatur for the past 10 years after moving from Pennsylvania. He graduated from St. Norbert College in Green Bay, Wis.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Carroll; three daughters, Anne Marie Carroll, Cathy Carroll and Christine Carroll, all of Decatur; one brother, John Carroll of Lock Haven, Pa.; two sisters, Mary Baumann of Deptford, N.J. and Donna Carroll of Gardner, N.C.

Members of the Knights of Columbus will be pallbearers.

L.G. 'Sarge' Fairbanks Sr.
65, U.S. Army retiree

ATHENS -- Funeral for L.G. "Sarge" Fairbanks Sr., 65, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with the Rev. Alman Dennard officiating.

Burial will be in Bottoms Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Fairbanks died Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at his home. He was born Aug. 3, 1934, in Lauderdale County. He was a resident of Limestone County for most of his life.

He retired as an electrician from Brown and Root Construction, Inc., in Houston, Texas, and he retired from the U.S. Army after 23 1/2 years of service.

He was a veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He was a Prisoner of War and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was the father of the late Curtis Wayne Fairbanks. He previously was married to the late Estelle Clark Fairbanks.

He is survived by his wife, Willie J. Weatherly Fairbanks of Townsend, Tenn.; two sons, Larry Gene Fairbanks, Jr., of Grant, and Timothy Brian Fairbanks of Decatur; two daughters, Karen Fairbanks Webb of Oak Grove, La., and Joyce Fairbanks Holmes of Decatur; three brothers, Carl Fairbanks, W.T. Fairbanks, both of Decatur, and Ottis Fairbanks of Tennessee; seven sisters, Kathy Thompson, Judy Elliott, both of Rusk, Texas, Betty Hardiman, Brinda Blagburn, both of Priceville, Doris Keen of Shepard, Texas, Maggie Kaney of Alexander City and Pat Elliott of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Larry Gene Fairbanks Jr., Timothy Brian Fairbanks, Thomas Jason Hood, W.T. Fairbanks, Carl Gene Fairbanks and Ottis Paul Fairbanks.

Larry Wayne Harmon
53, retired accountant

COLUMBIA, Tenn. -- Funeral for Larry Wayne Harmon, 53, of Columbia was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson officiating.

Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Harmon died Saturday, Oct. 2, 1999, at Heritage Manor. He was born May 5, 1946, in Maury County, Tenn., to Harold and Christine "Dottie" Hardison Harmon. He was a retired accountant from Mid-South Regional Medical Program in Nashville.

He attended Columbia Military Academy, was a 1966 graduate of Columbia Central High School and a graduate of Columbia Business College.

He attended Highland Church of Christ and was involved in Wheelchair Olympics and basketball.

He is survived by one brother, Don B. Harmon of Decatur.

Pallbearers were Jim Turner, Jack Turner, P.D. Womack, Jimmy Womack, Dennis Hardison and Don Alderson.
