PULASKI, Tenn. -- Funeral for Margaret Henderson Cantrell, 56, of Prospect, Tenn., will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Bennett-May Funeral Home with the Rev. William Suddeth officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur. The family will receive friends today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cantrell died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at her home. She was born March 11, 1944, in Alabama to Louis Henderson and Annie Compton Henderson. She retired as a schoolteacher in Madison County.

Survivors include her husband, Will A. Cantrell; one son, Allen Cantrell of Nashville; and her father of Prospect.

Rosie Ethel Evans
88, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Rosie Ethel Evans, 88, of Athens was to be today at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with David Jones and Calvin Havens officiating.

Burial was to be in Limestone Cemetery.

Mrs. Evans died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. She was born Feb. 18, 1913, in Limestone County. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two sons, Robert J. Evans and David Evans, both of Athens; one daughter, Carrie Lee Kennedy of Athens; one sister, Angie Gatcheff of South Williamsport, Pa.; five grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Dwight Kennedy, Donald Evans, Brian Evans, Reid Smith, Rick Palmer, Robbie Dempsey and Jeremy Evans.

Mildred Joy Holmes
62, machine operator

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Mildred Joy Holmes, 62, of Eva will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Floyd West officiating.

Burial will be in Lawrence Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Holmes died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at her home. She was born Nov. 1, 1938, in Morgan County to Jerry Jerome Chop and Doris Madeline Drinkard Chop. She attended Church of God Prophecy at Summerbrook and was a machine operator at Copeland Corp. for 20 years.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Jerome Adkins of Somerville and Jeffrey Leo Adkins of Eva; one daughter, Kathy Adkins Potter of Huntsville; one brother, Billy James Lang of Cullman; four sisters, Josephine Mooney of Tennessee, Margaret Childers of Eva, Alline Gates of Missouri and Loretta Bishop of Priceville; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Roland Drinkard, Dan Jones, Patrick Sitzinger, Paul Adkins, Jimmy Drinkard and Joe Jones.

Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy.

Jason Lee Moncrief
22, retail store detective

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. -- Funeral for Jason Lee Moncrief, 22, of Shelby Township, Mich., will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wujek-Calcaterra and Son Funeral Home with Veronica Browne officiating.

Burial will be in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township, Mich. The family was to receive friends today from 1 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Moncrief died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at St. Joseph's Mercy-West Hospital in Clinton Township. He was born Jan. 18, 1979, in Warren, Mich. He was a retail store detective. He had relatives in Massey and Falkville.

Survivors include his father, Joel Moncrief of Hartselle; his mother, Elizabeth Walker Moncrief of Shelby Township; two brothers, Chad Hall of Sterling Heights and Jerrett Moncrief of Shelby Township; and his grandmothers, Mamie Walker Campbell of Warren, Mich., and Eloise Ballentine of Massey.

Memorials may be made to the family of Elizabeth Moncrief, 50169 W. Bronte Drive, Shelby Township, MI 48315.

Brice Varnon Sterling
66, Army retiree

MOULTON -- Funeral for Brice Varnon Sterling, 66, of Huntsville was to be today at 1 p.m. at Aldridge Grove Church of Christ with Tim Price officiating.

Burial was to be in the adjoining cemetery with full military honors and Elliott Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Sterling died Thursday, Feb. 22, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born May 25, 1934, in Lawrence County to Rupert and Hester Sterling. He was retired from the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Woodard Sterling; two sons, Kevin Sterling of Saudi Arabia and Brice Michael Sterling of Chattanooga; one daughter, Ginger Cole of Marietta, Ga.; and his mother, Hester Heflin of Huntsville.

Arlo Thurman Abercrombie
82, retired teacher
Funeral for Arlo Thurman Abercrombie, 82, of Decatur will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Beltline Church of Christ with Mike Nix officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Abercrombie died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1919, in Union Hill to Benjamin "Dock David" Abercrombie and Annie Miller Abercrombie. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Beltline Church of Christ and Elks Lodge No. 655. A former elementary and high school teacher, he was the first principal of Crestline Elementary School in Hartselle and Eastwood Elementary School in Decatur. He was a retired teacher from Calhoun Community College.

Survivors include his wife, Ileene W. Abercrombie; one son, Larry Abercrombie of Decatur; two brothers, Wilber Abercrombie of Athens and Truman Abercrombie of Somerville; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Bill Walker, Billy Abercrombie, "Dock" David Abercrombie, Bob Neighbor, Shirley Abercrombie and Richard Parker.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

Virgie Dee Carpenter

MOULTON -- Funeral for Virgie Dee Carpenter, 88, of Town Creek was to be today at 2 p.m. at Elliott Funeral Home with Milton Burks and Tom Campbell officiating.

Burial was to be in Masterson Cemetery.

Mrs. Carpenter died Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at National Health Care Center in Moulton. She was born April 22, 1912, in Lawrence County to Marchel Brannon and Annie Moland Brannon. She was a homemaker. She was the widow of Harvey Carpenter and the mother of the late Billy Carpenter and Neline Langdell.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Diane Waldrep and Regzey Carpenter, both of Leighton, Barbara Graves and Debbie Ridgeway, both of Town Creek, and Jessica Fuller of Decatur; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be J.C. Brannon, Larry Brannon, Steve Brannon, Roger Brannon, Ben Carpenter and Matthew Graves.

Bonnie June Hicks

ATHENS -- Graveside service for Bonnie June Hicks, 22, of Athens will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Sandlin Cemetery with Spry Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Ms. Hicks died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, in Huntsville. She was born Feb. 20, 1978, in Illinois. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Torrance Bailey Jr. of Athens; one daughter, Destine Johnson of Athens; her mother, Nancy Hicks of Athens; one brother, Cletis Ray Hicks of Illinois; one sister, Tammy Tylene Hicks of Huntsville; and her grandmother, Bonnie Lou Sullivan of Illinois.

Frank Knoblock
87, Climatrol Corp. retiree

Funeral for Frank Knoblock, 87, of Decatur will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Culotta officiating.

Rosary will be said Thursday night at 5:30 and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home.

Mr. Knoblock died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Big Springs Specialty Care Center in Huntsville. He was born Feb. 17, 1914, in Decatur to Sigmond and Annie Knoblock. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and retired from Climatrol Corp.

Survivors include his wife, Rena C. Knoblock; one son, Frankie Knoblock of Decatur; one daughter, Mary Ann Sharp of Decatur; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Hattie Pearl Lloyd McDaniel
63, homemaker

Funeral for Hattie Pearl Lloyd McDaniel, 63, of Moulton will be Thursday at noon at Freeman Baptist Tabernacle with the Rev. H.N. Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memorial Gardens with Reynolds Funeral Home directing. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. McDaniel died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born April 8, 1937, in Lawrence County to Dan Lloyd and Hattie Lee Gibson Lloyd. She was a homemaker and a member of Freeman Baptist Tabernacle.

Survivors include three sons, William McDaniel, Patrick McDaniel and Victor McDaniel, all of Moulton; one daughter, Michelle McDaniel of Moulton; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Curtis Jackson, Patrick Sharpley, Ronnie Howell, Gary Hubbard, Frank Griffin and Ken Stewart.

Olden Wayne Mitchell
69, Freuhauf retiree, cattle rancher

ATHENS -- Funeral for Olden Wayne Mitchell, 69, of Athens will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home with the Rev. James Bridges and the Rev. Bryan McIntyre officiating.

Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Mitchell died Sunday, Feb. 18, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born June 3, 1931, in Limestone County. He was a cattle rancher and retired from Freuhauf Corp. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of Riddle's Chapel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Black Mitchell; two daughters, Jan Estes and Michelle Butler, both of Athens; four sisters, Brenda Looney of Decatur, and Dean Garlen, Ethleen Self and Bessie Pitts, all of Athens; and four grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Goldina Crisler
80, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Goldina Colby Crisler, 80, of Town Creek was to be today at 2:30 p.m. at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Willard Saint and the Rev. Redman Talley officiating.

The body was to be cremated following the service. The family was to receive friends from noon to 2 at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crisler died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born in Concord, N.H., on Dec. 19, 1920, to Earl Colby and Dora Colby. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Clifton Crisler; one daughter, Doralee Barr of Madison; one sister, Elfreda Hunt, of New Hampshire; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Darrin Atkins, Keith Cowan, Robert Montgomery, Justin Crisler, Kevin Barr, and David Barr.
