Funeral for Thomas Ray Hicks, 53, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. T. Reynolds Hall officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hicks died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at his home. He was born Oct. 6, 1947, in Birmingham to Paul Hicks and Lucille Washburn Hicks. He was the owner of North Central Wholesale Florist of Cullman.

Survivors include one daughter, LeeAnn Hicks Poole of Decatur; his mother of Decatur; and one grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Billy Bowman, Jerry McCluskey, Alan Griffin, Buster Howard, Jamie Wood, and John Brink.

Wesley Hulmn Hoskins
87, retired U.S. Postal Service

Funeral for Wesley Hulmn Hoskins, 87, of Decatur was to be today at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with Ralph Stout officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family was to receive friends for one hour before the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Hoskins died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 23, 1913, in Giles County, Tenn., to John W. Hoskins and Lou Ella Hoskins. He was a member of Grant Street Church of Christ and was retired from the U.S. Postal Service.

Survivors include his wife, Christine H. Hoskins; one son, John W. Hoskins of Decatur; and two grandsons.

Pallbearers were to be Hunter Hoskins, Alan Hoskins, Dr. Sam F. Evans, Dr. Joe Burns, Dr. Steve Chandler and Jim Fite.

Virginia E. Hughes
85, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Virginia E. Hughes, 85, of Fayetteville, Tenn., and formerly of Athens, was to be today at 11 a.m. at McConnell Funeral Home with Dan Anderson officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Hughes died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at SunBridge Health Care in Fayetteville. She was born April 7, 1915, in Bethel, Tenn., to Ollie Hugh Tyler and Lena Dale McDonald Tyler. She was a resident of Limestone County most of her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She was the widow of Van Gilbert Hughes and the mother of Garry Wayne Hughes.

Survivors include one son, Billy Hughes of Nashville; one daughter, Martha Stafford of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Gloyce Wynette Isbell
63, homemaker

Funeral for Gloyce Wynette Isbell, 63, of Decatur will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Boling officiating.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens in Florence. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Isbell died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Jan. 2, 1938, in Lawrence County to Walker Johnson and Gertrude Massey Johnson. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, U.S. Army Ret. Col. James C. Isbell; one son, James C. Isbell Jr.. of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two daughters, Sgt. Angela Leigh Isbell of St. Louis, Mo., and Lynne Isbelle Bennett of Birmingham; one brother, Quinton Johnson of Tuscumbia; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Sam Johnson, Tim Hammond, Gary Cuddy, Blair Russell, Todd Lee, Jeff Green and Eric Vanderslice.

Joe Lockett

TANNER -- Funeral for Joe Lockett, 46, of Huntsville, will be Saturday at noon at Tabernacle Church in Elkton, Tenn., with the Rev. Robert Tibbs officiating.

Burial will be in Blanche Cemetery in Blanche, Tenn., with Peoples Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Lockett died Monday, March 19, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Joe Lockett Jr.; one daughter, Katrina Lockett of Pulaski, Tenn.; two brothers, the Rev. Larry Lockett of Pulaski and Buford J. Lockett Sr. of Hoffman Estate, Ill.; three sisters, Elease Bush of Detroit, Mich., Cora Bledsoe of Evanston, Ill. and Betty Harris of Toney.

Dr. Lloyd Terrence McCall Jr.
74, retired dentist

MONROEVILLE -- Funeral for Dr. Lloyd Terrence McCall Jr., 74, of Monroeville was to be today at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lance Moore and the Rev. Thomas Lane Butts officiating.

Burial was to be in Hillcrest Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.

Dr. McCall died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at his home. He was born Jan. 5, 1927, in Beatrice to Lloyd Terrence McCall Sr. and Mary Alexander Stallworth McCall. He practiced dentistry for 37 years, before retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Dental Association and First United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Patsy Stephens McCall; three sons, Lloyd Terrence McCall III, Samuel Stephens McCall and Allen Law McCall II, all of Decatur; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Sadowski of Jacksonville, Fla., and Virginia Burch of LaGrange, Ga.; one sister, Sara Ann Curry of Auburn; and six grandchildren.

Rita 'Cherokee Rose' Segler
44, Native American dancer and teacher

Funeral for Rita "Cherokee Rose" Segler, 44, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Smith and Cherokee Chief Gena Williams officiating.

Burial will be in New Center Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Segler died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at the home of her daughter in Decatur. She was born July 18, 1956, in Mount Hope to Robert Borden and Orvalene Borden. She lived in Decatur and Madison for most of her life. She represented the White Buffalo Calf Woman during Native American Pow Wows and festivals and was a homemaker. She has an adoptive Cherokee mother, Mama Gene Jackson of Cherokee, N.C.

Survivors include her husband, David Segler Sr.; one son, David Segler Jr. of Decatur; two daughters, Chasity Thorn and Mary Beth Segler, both of Decatur; her mother of Somerville; her father and stepmother, Robert and Arthenia Borden of Decatur; one brother, Gene Borden of Fairview; two sisters, Vicki Smith of Priceville and Shelia Duffell of Honorville; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Segler, Gene Borden, Daniel Hamilton, Cecil Segler Jr., Perry Thorn, and Joey Borden.

Flo Pickens Serner
79, homemaker

Funeral for Flo Pickens Serner, 79, of Decatur will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the Rev. David Rollins officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Friday from noon to 2 at the church.

Mrs. Serner died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. She was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Decatur. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Fred Serner; one son, Randy Thornhill of Albuquerque, N.M.; and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ed Davies, Tony Bell, David Nebrig, Bill Hollerman, Bill Washington and Ken Wood.

Charles "J.W." Turner
80, retired farmer and Monsanto employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Charles "J.W." Turner, 80, of Athens, was to be today at 2 p.m. at Copeland Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Phillip Babcock officiating.

Burial was to be in Copeland Cemetery with McConnell Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Turner died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at his home. He was born April 22, 1920, in Limestone County to Charlie Turner and Cora Smith Turner. He worked as an operator at Monsanto in Decatur for 28 years and was a retired farmer. He was a World War II Marine veteran and a member of Copeland Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Naomi Turner; three sons, Glenn Turner of Elkmont, and Robert Turner and Kenneth Turner, both of Athens; one daughter, Mary Blair Routh of Lewisville, N.C.; one brother, Thurman Turner of Eclectic; one sister, Frances Coates of Athens; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Grandsons were to be pallbearers. Granddaughters were to be honorary pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Copeland Presbyterian Church of Hospice of Limestone County.

Lakin N. Lambert

Funeral for Lakin N. Lambert, 60, of Decatur will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Ivey and Ed Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Lambert died Wednesday, March 21, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Sept. 29, 1940, in Decatur to John T. Lambert and Irma L. Williams Lambert.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Stinson of Texas and Martie Williams and Victor Williams, both of Moulton; one daughter, Roxane Dotson of Moulton; two brothers, Leon Lambert of Decatur and Donnie Lambert of Hartselle; one sister, Irma Sue Holland of Decatur; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

Joe Lockett
46, Magoteaux employee

Mr. Lockett died Monday, March 19, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Aug. 26, 1954. He was an employee of Magoteaux in Pulaski, Tenn.

Survivors include one son, Joe Lockett Jr. of Pulaski; one daughter, Katrina Dale Lockett of Pulaski; two brothers, the Rev. Larry Lockett of Pulaski and Buford Ray Lockett Sr. of Hoffman Estate, Ill.; and three sisters, Elise Bush of Detriot, Cora Bledsoe of Evanston, Ill., and Betty Harris of Toney.

Helen Ruth Pruitt Parker
74, former executive secretary

Funeral for Helen Ruth Pruitt Parker, 74, of Oklahoma City will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Pat Brock and the Rev. Richard Parker officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery with Roselawn Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Memorial service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Surrey Hills Baptist Church in Yukon, Okla.

Mrs. Parker died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in Oklahoma City. She was born Oct. 14, 1926, in Decatur to Mr. and Mrs. W.R. Pruitt. She graduated from Riverside High School and attended Bob Jones College in Cleveland, Tenn. She was an executive legal secretary for more than 25 years. She was an active member of Central Baptist Church for 68 years, singing in the choir and assisting in the church's special education department.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Charles Parker; two sons, the Rev. Richard G. Parker of Perry, Ga., and Dr. Gregory B. Parker of Bolivar, Mo.; one daughter, Cheryl Parker Scroggins of Oklahoma City; one brother, Robert H. Pruitt of Topeka, Kan.; one sister, Catherine Marie Pruitt Watkins of Decatur; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Bayne Vaughan Jr., Jay Vaughan, Brad Scroggins, Scott Scroggins, Andrew Parker and Barry Brock.

Memorials may be made to the Helen Ruth Parker Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwest Baptist University, Development Office, 1600 University Ave., Bolivar, MO 65613-2597.
