HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Ambrose Nathaniel King, 97, of Valhermoso Springs will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dewitt Crowe officiating.

Burial will be in Shoal Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. King died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born Aug. 21, 1903, in Lawrence County to Andrew Jackson King and Mattie Myrtle Whitlow King. He was a member of Valhermoso Baptist Church and a retired crane operator.

Survivors include three sons, Major King of Hartselle, Gene King of Valhermoso Springs and Richard King of Decatur; one sister, Ruby Batts of Decatur; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Darren King, Nick King, John McSpadden, Roger McSpadden, Mike Woodard, Donald Ledlow and Tim Flannagan.

Finas 'Tilly' Tilson
68, retired salesman

ATHENS -- Funeral for Finas "Tilly" Tilson, 68, of Athens will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Spry Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Elkview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Tilson died Saturday, March 24, 2001, in Limestone County. He was born July 12, 1932, in Texas. He was a retired automobile salesman and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Tilson; two daughters, Bettina Puckett of Minneapolis, Minn., and Kitty Tilson of Athens; one stepson, Dewayne Pepper of Athens; three brothers, Lonnie Jean Tilson and Joe Nelson, both of Texas, and Albert Lee Tilson of Arkansas; and two grandchildren.

Earl William Burgess
57, engineer
Funeral for Earl William Burgess, 57, of Moulton will be Tuesday at noon at Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church with the Rev. H.N. Snodgrass officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton City Cemetery with Sharpley Funeral Home directing. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mr. Burgess died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 27, 1943, in Moulton to Thomas Burgess and Ora Lee McDonald Burgess. He was an engineer and served in the U.S. Air Force for 35 years. He was a member of Freeman Tabernacle Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Alethia Burgess; three daughters, Jean Burgess of Moulton and Shannon Evette Burgess and Daphne Lanae Burgess, both of Sacramento, Calif.; his mother, Ora Lee McDonald Burgess of Moulton; two brothers, Thomas Waddell Burgess of Decatur and Rick Burgess of Sacramento, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Brian Jackson, Derrick Jackson, J.C. Jackson, Randall Stevenson, Patrick Sharpley and Winford Jackson.

Hershell Rayburn Glenn
73, retired rodman

Funeral for Hershell Rayburn Glenn, 73, of Decatur was to be today at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Williams officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Glenn died Friday, March 23, 2001, at his home. He was born July 23, 1927, in Lawrence County to Avery Glenn and Ruby Glenn. He was a retired rodman from Mabry Engineering and a member of Full Gospel Assembly. He was the father of Toney R. Glenn.

Survivors include his wife, Edith Blanch Glenn; one son, Joseph Fuller of Decatur; six daughters, Wendell Sutton of Danville, Brenda Young and Deborah Lindsey, both of Decatur, Vickie Sharbutt of Somerville, Doris Milligan of Moulton and Tammy Hill of Trinity; two brothers, Homer Glenn of Decatur and Frankie Glenn of Florida; two sisters, Josephine Furstenfield of Arkansas and Merine Downey of Moulton; 21 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

Ruby Annie Herron
76, homemaker

Funeral for Ruby Annie Herron, 76, of Decatur was to be today at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Sandra Locke-Godbey officiating.

Burial was to be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Herron died Friday, March 23, 2001, at her home. She was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Town Creek to Granville Roden and Lizzie Sara Roden. She was a member of Sixteenth Avenue Baptist Church. She was a homemaker and the widow of Josh A. Herron.

Survivors include three sons, Josh Herron Jr. and Cecil Herron, both of Decatur, and Ruben Herron of White House, Tenn.; three daughters, Sara Herron Cheatham and Nancy Herron, both of Decatur, and Mary Manning of Alvin, Texas; one brother Henry Roden of Athens; one sister, Sara Glenn of Gardendale; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Lynn Grissom, Steven Cantrell, George Cantrell, Josh Herron, Dennis Hill and Freddy Hill.

Georgia D. Hill
93, JC Penney retiree

Funeral for Georgia D. Hill, 93, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Pat Brock and the Rev. Mark Tolbert officiating.

Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hill died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home. She was born March 17, 1908, in Morgan County to John W. Campbell and Alcie Oden Campbell. She was employed for 19 years as a sales associate in the Ready to Wear department of JC Penney. She was a 60-year member of Central Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Henry Harrison Hill; three sons, John D. Taylor of Decatur, Willis Taylor of Hartselle and Gordon B. Taylor of Pearl River, N.Y.; one daughter, Jean Long of Hartselle; one brother, Marion Campbell of Union Grove; two sisters, Dessie Johnson of Anderson, Ind., and Lucille Compton of Huntsville; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Central Baptist Church members will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Central Baptist Church building fund.

Bill Robinson Hudson
54, diesel mechanic

Funeral for Bill Robinson Hudson, 54, of Hillsboro will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Compton officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hudson died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Nov. 30, 1946, in Alcorn County, Miss., to W.C. and Justine Hudson. He was employed by Waters Brothers Contractors as a diesel mechanic. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Austinville and the Masonic Lodge of Iuka, Miss. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Melissa Hudson; his parents, W.C. and Justine Hudson of Cherokee; one son, Billy R. Hudson of Decatur; one daughter, Katrina Jenkins of Decatur; one stepson, Doug Crawford of Hillsboro; four stepdaughters, Michelle Berry of Decatur, Sherry Yarbrough and Misty Little, both of Moulton, and Jennifer Taylor of Danville; two sisters, Wanda Haddock of Muscle Shoals and Vicky Frye of Killen and 15 grandchildren.

Masonic Lodge members will be pallbearers.

Mildred Scott
87, retired hairdresser

Funeral for Mildred Scott, 87, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Hoover officiating.

Burial will be in Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Scott died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 7, 1913, in Limestone County to Sam McNatt and Nora Gatlin McNatt. She was a retired hairdresser who owned Scott's Beauty Shop for 40 years. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church. She was the widow of Howard J. Scott.

Survivors include one son, James Scott of Decatur; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be A.C. Bailey, Alex Emerson, Rudy Trimble, Randy Prestwood, Gary Scott and Bob Frame.

Kirk Wallace 'Wally' Alexander
91, restaurant owner

CHATTANOOGA -- Funeral for Kirk Wallace "Wally" Alexander, 91, of Chattanooga will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. John May, the Rev. Richard Blaylock and the Rev. Milan Dekich officiating.

Burial will be in Plowman Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Alexander died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at Parkridge Hospital. He was born May 22, 1909, in Decatur to Samuel Alexander and Maude Smith Alexander. He lived in the Chattanooga and Ringgold, Ga., area for the past 75 years. An Air Force veteran of World War II, he opened Wally's Restaurant in 1937 and was a member of Apison Baptist Church. He was the widower of Louise Chadwick Alexander and the brother of the late Rhile Alexander, Edith Morrison and Louise Alexander.

Survivors include one son, Roger Alexander of Ringgold; one sister, Zulee Rowland McBryar of Chattanooga; and three grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Rowland, Ray Rowland, Larry Rowland, Bill Hullander, C.H. Nabors, Bill McIntosh, Tony Kennedy and Neal Dekich.

Georgia D. Hill

MOULTON -- Funeral for Marilyn Deroma Letson Kimbrell, 41, of Town Creek will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Mitch Smith and the Rev. Marshall Garner officiating.

Burial will be in Moulton Memory Gardens. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Kimbrell died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at her home. She was born July 24, 1959, in Morgan County to Samuel R. Letson and Betty Nell Moore Letson. She was a homemaker and had worked for 19 years at Champion International Corp. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a member of Aldridge Grove Church of Christ. She was the granddaughter of the late Aaron Thomas Moore and James Wesley Letson.

Survivors include her husband, Elton Kimbrell; her mother and stepfather, Betty and Charles Towson of Moulton; one stepson, Lee Kimbrell of Town Creek; one stepdaughter, Erica Lynn Kimbrell of Town Creek; one brother, Samuel Gregory Letson of Moulton; two sisters, Sudonda M. Engle and Samantha Smith, both of Moulton; and her grandmothers, Willie E. McKinney of Moulton and Lenos Letson of Hillsboro.

Cousins will be pallbearers.

Ann P. Marti
76, homemaker

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- Ann P. Marti, 76, of Pinellas Park, Fla., formerly of Trinity, died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Hospice Woodside in Panellas.

There will be no service.

Mrs. Marti was born Oct. 6, 1924, in Athens. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Methodist Church.

Survivors include one son, Theodore C. Marti of Dunedin, Fla.; and one daughter, Jo Marti of Orlando, Fla.
