Robert Lee Walton
62, GE retiree

Funeral for Robert Lee Walton, 62, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Fletcher's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Langford officiating and Reynolds Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside, Ill. The body will be at the church and the family will receive friends one hour before the service.

Mr. Walton died Friday, March 30, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital.

He was born April 17, 1938, in Louin, Miss., to Extra Walton and Estelle Moore Walton. A former resident of Chicago, he moved to Decatur when GE relocated. He retired from GE in January 2001.

Survivors include two daughters, Sabrina Flowers and Crystal Flowers, both of Chicago; six brothers, Danny Moore of Collinsville, Miss., Ronald Pickens, Ray Pickens and Renwick Pickens, all of Maywood, Ill., Rolland Pickens of Bellwood, Ill., and Christopher Pickens of Romeoville, Ill.; four sisters, Ora Bassett, Exia Swilley and Connie Rosales, all of Maywood, and Dorothy Walker of Broadview, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

Walter Steven Austin Ward
44, dispatcher

Funeral for Walter Steven Austin Ward, 44, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Fanning officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Ward died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at his home. He was born July 8, 1956, in Morgan County to Luther Ward and Clara Horn. He was a dispatcher with Bestway Services and the grandson of Walter and Lucille Horn.

Survivors include his wife, April Ward; one son, Madison Ward of Decatur; three daughters, Heather Cannon and Ashley Cannon, both of Decatur, and Regan Tidwell of Florence; his father, William "Bill" Austin of Decatur; three brothers, Stanley Austin of Somerville, Rusty Austin of North Charleston, S.C., and Tim Austin of Decatur; and two sisters, Carol Montgomery of Decatur and Mary White of Fort Payne.

Pallbearers will be Chris Chandler, Ben Chandler, Brad Austin, Justin Austin, Daniel Gatlin, Blair Gatlin, Cain Gatlin and Madison Ward.

Barbara L. 'Barbie' Buyske

Funeral for Barbara L. "Barbie" Buyske, 57, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home with the Rev. Eric Mattox officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Miss Buyske died Monday, April 2, 2001, at South Morgan Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 18, 1943, in Ohio to Richard George Buyske and Audrey Louise Penrod Buyske. Her caregiver of 21 years was Dorothy Rachal.

Survivors include two sisters, Stephanie Collier and Tina Hill, both of Decatur.

Friends and family will be pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley.

James Solomon Fuller
88, retired machine operator

MOULTON -- Funeral for James Solomon Fuller, 88, of Galesburg, Mich., will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Amos Hood officiating.

Burial will be in Landersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Fuller died Saturday, March 31, 2001, in Galesburg. He was born May 14, 1912, in Lawrence County to Henry Fuller and Susie Dutton Fuller. He was retired from Midwest Aluminum as a machine operator. He attended Union Hill Baptist Church in Lawrence County. He was the widower of Ruby Ethel Posey Fuller, the father of Willard Joseph Fuller and the brother of John Fuller, Silas Fuller, Flora Montgomery and Mable Wright.

Survivors include one son, James Fuller of Comstock; four daughters, Wilma Puckett and Linda Couch, both of Galesburg, Willodean Shrout of Leesburg, Fla., and Shirley Sparks of Ostego; one brother, Paul Fuller of Cullman; one sister, Myrtle Sutter of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Joan Gatewood
58, nurse

BIRMINGHAM -- Funeral for Joan Gatewood, 58, of Birmingham will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church with the Rev. Pat O'Donoghue officiating.

Burial will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens with Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 8 at the funeral home. A rosary will be said at 7.

Mrs. Gatewood died Saturday, March 31, 2001, at University of Alabama Hospital at Birmingham. She was born April 17, 1942, in Parkersburg, W.Va. She was employed as a nurse at Charter Retreat Hospital in Decatur. She was also an administrator with River North Hospital in Pineville, La., and worked as a nurse at Veterans Administration Hospital in Alexandria, La. She attended the Holy Infant of Prague Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Gatewood; one son, Todd Gatewood of Birmingham; two sisters, Katherine Payne Balderson of Zanesville, Ohio, and Barbara Payne Peterson of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Thomas Judge Payne of Gainsville, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Amber Puckett Glasgow

HARTSELLE -- Amber Puckett Glasgow, 94, of Falkville died today, April 3, at Falkville Health Care Center. Peck Funeral Home will announce arrangements.

Ida Lezora Goins

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Ida Lezora Goins, 100, of Falkville will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Creek Cemetery with Rev. Larry McElroy officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Goins died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born June 27, 1900, in Blount County to Sam Ayers and Ella Bradford Ayers. Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Nephews will be pallbearers.

John Michael Hughes
37, truck driver

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for John Michael Hughes, 37, of Falkville will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Mack Carter and the Rev. Jamie Suggs officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Hughes died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1963, in Morgan County to Farris F. Hughes and Gerldene Asherbranner Hughes. He was a member of Andrews Chapel Baptist Church. He was a 1981 graduate of Falkville High School. He was a volunteer for the Massey Fire Department and Massey Emergency Medical Technicians. He was a member of the ACW and SECW wrestling associations, wrestling under the name "Hillbilly Big Bubba." He was a truck driver for DCA Ready Mix and a professional wrestler.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Maxwell Hughes; his parents of Massey; and his grandmother, Irene Cutchens of Massey.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Asherbranner, Rex Asherbranner, Rodger Asherbranner, Ronnie Asherbranner, Lee Bohannon, Jeff Fairbanks, John McDonald, Donnie Turrentine, Blake Maxwell and Phillip Wilson.

Hilda Gurley Teague
59, seamstress

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Hilda Gurley Teague, 59, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Glenn Smallwood and the Rev. Sammy Evans officiating.

Burial will be in Moss Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Teague died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born Jan. 20, 1942, in Mississippi to Veard G. Gurley and Mary Anna Bingham Gurley. She was a member of Bird Springs Baptist Church. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4190. She was a seamstress.

Survivors include her husband, Paul W. Teague; three sons, William Whitehead of Eva, Ronald W. Whitehead of Madera, Calif., and Kerry W. Teague of Moulton; four daughters, Ginnie D. Brewer of Sheffield, Kattie Rebecca Peters of Tuscumbia, and Paula M. Caminita and Betty Jo Brooks, both of Moulton; two brothers, Johnny Gurley of Muscle Shoals and Giles Gurley of Leighton; two sisters, Betty Busby of Jasper and Joyce Blankenship of Muscle Shoals; 20 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Buddy Brewer, John Lewis Peters, Johnny Puckett, Darrell Whitehead, Phillip Whitehead and Tyrone Whitehead.

John E. Wade
53, heavy equipment operator

COLUMBUS, Ga. -- Funeral for John E. Wade, 53, of Trinity, formerly of Columbus, will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at McMullen Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 7 at the funeral home.

Mr. Wade died Sunday, April 1, 2001, in Huntsville. He was born Feb. 19, 1948, in Smiths to Richard E. Wade and Doris Wade. He was a heavy equipment operator.

Survivors include two sons, Tony Wade of Hartselle and John R. Wade of Easley, S.C.; two brothers, Donald Wade of Gainesville, Ga., and Gary Richard Wade of Columbus, Ga.; four sisters, Joyce May of Charlotte, N.C., Carolyn Osborn and Debra King, both of Columbus, Ga., and Melba Gardner of Trinity; and two grandchildren.

Cameron Deuce Carter
Infant

Graveside service for infant Cameron Deuce Carter of Decatur will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Richard Chandler officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

The infant died Thursday, March 29, 2001, the day of his birth, at Decatur General Hospital.

Survivors include his parents, Forrest Carter and Angela Wilcutt of Decatur; three sisters, Sierra Nicole Carter, Destiny Michelle Carter and Jasmine Cheyenne Mitchell, all of Decatur; his grandparents, Bonnie Jenkins and Miranda Carter, both of Decatur; and his great-grandmother, Marie Colley of Decatur.

Amber Puckett Glasgow
94, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Amber Puckett Glasgow, 94, of Hartselle will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Dorsey Walker and the Rev. Harold Thompson officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Glasgow died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 10, 1906, in Morgan County, the youngest of 17 children of Elijah Jarrett Puckett and Mary Anna Lee Royer Puckett. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist church for 85 years. She sold Avon products and was a sales clerk for a women's clothing store. She was the widow of Gurnie S. Glasgow.

Survivors include two daughters, Gurnialene Glasgow Braswell and Gerri Glasgow Smith, both of Hartselle; and two granddaughters.

Pallbearers will be Don Clark, Gilmer Ellis, James Glasgow, David Puckett, Hal Puckett, Richard Sparkman, Charles Thompson and Donald Wallace.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund in Hartselle or to a favorite charity.

Frances Standridge Hargrove
84, GM retiree, Realtor

Graveside service for Frances Standridge Hargrove, 84, of Sandusky, Ohio, will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Shubert officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hargrove died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Firelands Community Hospital in Sandusky. She was born July 31, 1916, in Lawrence County to James W. Standridge and Cora Lamon Standridge. She retired from New Departure Hyatt, a division of General Motors Corp., in 1982 after 30 years of service and retired from Prudential/Stadmiller Realty in 1999 after 36 years in real estate. She was a member of the Ohio Board of Realtors and the UAW Local No. 913 retirees. She was the widow of Allstone Hargrove and the sister of the late James W. Standridge Jr., Grace Lanier and Louise Evans.

Survivors include three sons, A.W. Hargrove of Huron, Ohio, Stephen D. Hargrove of Castalia, Ohio, and Barry K. Hargrove of Sandusky; one sister, Julia M. Kirby of Decatur; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
