HOOVER -- Graveside service for James Alex Seale, 84, of Somerville will be Friday at 1 p.m. in Jefferson Memorial Gardens South in Hoover, with the Rev. Virgil R. Mulkin officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.

Mr. Seale died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at his home in Somerville. He was born Aug. 28, 1916, in St. Clair County to James E. Seale and Caldonia Hardin Seale. He was retired from U.S. Steel. He was a former Mason and member of Eastern Valley Baptist Church. He lived in Bibb and Jefferson counties before moving to the Decatur area.

Survivors include his wife, Johnie I. Seale; one daughter, Gail Sharpe of Somerville; two brothers, Howard Seale of Haiwassee, Ga., and George M. Seale of Homewood; two sisters, Jackie Seale of Homewood and Sally Echols of Shannon; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Valley, P.O. Box 2745, Decatur, AL 35602.

Elizabeth Farrar Allen
50, Steelcase employee

ATHENS -- Funeral for Elizabeth Farrar Allen, 50, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Johnson officiating.

Burial will be in Poplar Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 7 at Peoples Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen died at her sister's home Wednesday, May 2, 2001. She was born March 24, 1951, in Limestone Hospital. She was a member of Poplar Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She worked for Steelcase in Athens, an office furniture manufacturer.

Survivors include one daughter, Maria Harris of Athens; five brothers, Joe Petty, Billy Farrar, Charles Farrar and Ricky Farrar, all of Athens, and Henry Williams of Decatur; five sisters, Patricia Farrar, Doris Farrar, Bertha Farrar and Brenda Farrar, all of Athens, and Carolyn Farrar of Elkmont; and one grandchild.

Reba S. 'Nanny' Brown
72, seamstress

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Reba S. "Nanny" Brown, 72, of Hartselle was to be today at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Teal and the Rev. Alan Host officiating.

Burial was to be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born June 15, 1928, in Morgan County to William Claude Stephenson and Lizzie Stockton Stephenson. She was a seamstress and worked at a sewing factory. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She was the widow of John Brown and mother of the late Freddie Brown.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Brown Jr. and Tommie Joe Brown, both of Hartselle; three daughters, Drue Marlow of Athens, Carol Wiley of Decatur and Jane McSpadden of Hartselle; one brother, John Stephenson of Falkville; four sisters, Vivian Suggs of Trinity, Sara Aldridge of Decatur, and Peggy Webster and Wanda Mullins, both of Hartselle; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be Charlie Hobson, John Hobson, Michael Nolen, Steven Smith, Donnie Lowery, Kris Nolen, Jon Wiley and Rich Wiley.

Jimmy Wayne Holt
63, retired auto/insurance salesman

Funeral for Jimmy Wayne Holt, 63, of Decatur will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Paul Chesier officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Holt died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1937, in Decatur to James Holt and Willidean Able Holt. He was a retired insurance salesman from Mutual Savings and a longtime car salesman.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Holt of Falkville and David Holt of Hartselle; one daughter, Jacqueline Schlangen of Decatur; his mother of Decatur; one brother, Don Holt of Scottsboro; two sisters, Kathy Holt of Dallas and Barbara Fagan of Decatur; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Steven Michael Holt, Alexander Holt, Jerry Gatlin, Jim Ingle, Johnny McClung and Eddie Rose.

Ruby Hopper
69, production worker

CULLMAN -- Funeral for Ruby Hopper, 69, of Cullman will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Williams-McCracken Funeral Home with the Rev. Max Haygood officiating.

Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 5 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hopper died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born June 20, 1931, in Cullman to Jay Huffstutler and Edna Kyker Huffstutler. She worked in production at King Edward Co. She was the widow of Thurman R. Hopper and the sister of the late William Huffstutler.

Survivors include three sons, Mike Morgan, Jimmy R. Hopper and Ricky A. Hopper, all of Cullman; two brothers, Elmos Huffstutler and Bobby Huffstutler, both of Cullman; one sister, Thelma Brown of Cullman; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Stacey Mae Wilson

Funeral for Stacey Mae Wilson, 89, of Decatur will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home with the Rev. Endia Scruggs officiating.

Burial will be in Sterrs Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson died Tuesday, May 1, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born May 23, 1911, in Madison County to Cleveland Mitchell and Pearl Fletcher Mitchell. A longtime resident of South Morgan Health Care Center, she was a member of Westside Baptist Church and was active in the Senior Companions ministry of Community Action Agency.

Survivors include seven cousins, including Rowe Lockhart of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Lolis Crooks, Steven Drake, Corky Turner, Eric Turner and Vernon Crooks.

James Sevier Alexander
16, student
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for James Sevier Alexander, 16, of Hartselle will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be at the church one hour before the service.

He died Wednesday, May 2, 2001, at Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center in Atlanta. He was born Dec. 5, 1984, in Georgia to Waymon S. Alexander and Jo Ann Walker Alexander. He was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church and a sophomore at Danville High School. He was the grandson of the late Riggle S. Alexander, William O. Walker and Rachel Walker.

Survivors include his parents of Hartselle; and his grandmother, Estelle Alexander of Falkville.

Pallbearers will be Brian Alexander, Jeremy Alexander, Patrick Alexander, Mark Campbell, Ken Clark and Phillip Smith.

Margaret Christine Bailey
78, homemaker

ATHENS -- Funeral for Margaret Christine Bailey, 78, of Athens will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Lowell Blankenship, Carl Witty and Tim Murray officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bailey died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Limestone Health Facility. She was born Oct. 6, 1922, in Limestone County to Albert and Nola Black. She was a homemaker and a member of Sardis Springs Church of Christ.

Survivors include three sons, Kenneth Bailey and Jimmy Bailey, both of Athens, and Rickey Bailey of Elkmont; one daughter, Linda Hester of Decatur; two brothers, Archie Black of Pell City and Amos Black of Athens; two sisters, Marie Usery and Gladys Davidson, both of Athens; 12 grandchildren; and 20 great grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Gladys B. Green , 82, of Falkville will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at New Hope North Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Hazel and the Rev. David Estes officiating.

Burial will be in New Hope North Cemetery with Peck Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Green died Friday, May 4, 2001, at Falkville Health Care Center. She was born Dec. 7, 1918, in Morgan County to Frank E. South and Eva Jane Nix South. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Hope North Baptist Church. She was the widow of Percie Green .

Survivors include three sons, Eugene Green , Roy Green and Paskle Green , all of Falkville; two daughters, Totsie Holcomb of Eva and Bonnie Pair of Falkville; one brother, Therman South of Hartselle; three sisters, Mary Hazel of Danville, Margie Robertson of Falkville and Shirley Bailey of Eva; 18 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Tim Gandy, Cecil Green , Chuck Green , Donald Green , Byron Green , Terry Holcomb, Philip Holcomb and Lee Maples.

Jimmy Wayne Holt
63, auto/insurance salesman

Funeral for Jimmy Wayne Holt, 63, of Decatur will be today at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Paul Chesier officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery.

Mr. Holt died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born June 1, 1937, in Decatur to James Holt and Willidean Able Holt. He was a longtime car salesman and a retired insurance salesman from Mutual Savings Life Insurance Co.

Survivors include two sons, Steve Holt of Falkville and David Holt of Hartselle; one daughter, Jacqueline Schlangen of Decatur; his mother of Decatur; one brother, Don Holt of Scottsboro; two sisters, Kathy Holt of Dallas and Barbara Fagan of Decatur; and eight grandchildren.

Windal L. Speegle
68, equipment operator

CULLMAN -- Graveside service for Windal L. Speegle, 68, of Hanceville will be today at 2 p.m. at Beulah Cemetery with the Rev. Carson McSherdon officiating and Moss Service Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Speegle died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at his home. He was born April 1, 1933, in Lawrence County to Thad Speegle and Ethel Bradford Speegle. He was a heavy equipment operator and a U.S. Army veteran. He was the brother of the late Tommy Speegle.

Survivors include his wife, Willodean Speegle; his mother of Muscle Shoals; two sons, Daryl Speegle of Pontotoc, Miss., and Laverl Bradford of Somerville; two brothers, Tharon Speegle of Hartselle and John D. Speegle of Germany; five sisters, Jewel Goss of Hanceville, Wanda Lou Harris of Muscle Shoals, Sadie Mae Robinson of Phenix City, Nancy Smith of West Blocton and Juanita McSherdon of Mount Olive; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jamie Stovall

Burial will be in Reunion Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Stovall died Thursday, May 3, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born July 7, 1970, in Limestone County to Tommy Stovall and Shirley Hice. He was a member of the Church of God and a salesman for Hice Medical Uniforms in Athens. He was the grandson of the late Buck Stovall.

Survivors include one daughter, Amber Ann Stovall of Athens; his father of Decatur; his mother of Athens; his grandparents, Katherine Holt and James H. and Pauline Adams Evans, all of Athens; one stepson, Chris Crow of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Alanna Crow of Decatur; three stepbrothers, Tyler Stovall, Terry Hice and Michael Hice, all of Athens; and one stepsister, Kristal Cook of Madison.

Roger Benfield

ADDISON -- Funeral for Roger Benfield, 46, of Cullman, will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home with Ed Heed officiating.

Mr. Benfield died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at his home. He was born Sept. 2, 1954, in Iredell County, N.C. He was a truck driver.

Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer Benfield of Troutman, N.C.; his parents, Frank and Margie Benfield of Cullman; one brother, Ronnie Benfield of Moulton; and one sister, Tammy Arrington of Cullman.
