HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Lola Mae Johnson, 81, of Gardendale was to be today at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Underwood officiating.

Burial was to be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery in Danville.

Mrs. Johnson died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at her home. She was born Dec. 20, 1919, in Morgan County to William Joseph Williams and Annie Augusta McAbee Williams. She was a homemaker and a member of East Thomas Baptist Church in Birmingham. She was the widow of Rufus B. Johnson.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald Benjamin Johnson of Gardendale and Dahl Michael Johnson of Atlanta; two daughters, Mary Sisson of Gardendale and Brenda Overton of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Zola Standridge of Moulton; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were to be John Sisson Jr., Reese Vines, Patrick Overton, Chris Waldrep and Jarod Johnson.

Audrey Jarrett Legg
66, King Edward Cigar Plant employee

HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Audrey Jarrett Legg, 66, of Falkville will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Partridge officiating.

Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Legg died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1934, in Morgan County to Timothy Jarrett and Effie Steele Jarrett. She was employed at King Edward Cigar Plant in Cullman. She was a member of Powells Chapel Church of Falkville. She was the widow of Henry Luther Legg.

Survivors include one brother, Rathern Jarrett of Danville; and two sisters, Doris Penn of Crane Hill and Cora Powell of Falkville.

Pallbearers will be Gary Powell, Jerry Powell, Allen Powell, Tim Penn, Phillip Bryant and Tommy Jarrett.

Joseph Donald 'Jody' Montgomery
37, utility crewman 2

Funeral for Joseph Donald "Jody" Montgomery, 37, of Huntsville will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Handschumaker officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Montgomery died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at his home. He was born Aug. 24, 1963, in Hartselle to James Montgomery and Sandra Butler Montgomery. He was a former employee of Decatur Utilities.

Survivors include his wife, Betsy Montgomery; one daughter, Jennifer Montgomery of Decatur; and one brother, James B. Montgomery of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Benjy Montgomery, Jerry Jacobs, Jeff Jacobs, Mike Vest, Dwight Jacobs, Satch Jacobs, Tim Johnson and Keith Thrasher.

Jessica Courtney Norman
Infant

Graveside service for infant Jessica Courtney Norman of Athens will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with the Rev. Kenny Rogers officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends Tuesday afternoon from 1 to 2 at the funeral home.

The baby died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. She was born Nov. 21, 2000, in Decatur to James C. Norman and Kimberly J. Norman.

Survivors include her parents; one brother, J.C. Norman of Athens; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Norman of Decatur, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Marquette of Toney, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Warden of Hartselle, Waymon Hodge of Trinity and Sharon Warden of Trinity.

Ettie Mae Sherman
74, homemaker

Graveside service for Ettie Mae Sherman, 74, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Decatur City Cemetery with the Rev. Stanley Durham and the Rev. Brady McCullough officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Sherman died today, May 7, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1927, in Morgan County to Philip Henson and Maybelle McDougal Henson. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church. She was the widow of Jack D. Sherman.

Survivors include three sons, Philip J. Sherman of Decatur, Joey David Edward Sherman of Hartselle and Thomas Eugene Sherman of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; one daughter, Nejebi Sherman Millwee of Decatur; one brother, Frank Henson of Decatur; one sister, Vera Wear of Rome, Ga.; and nine grandchildren.

Mary Etta Skipworth
86, homemaker

Funeral for Mary Etta Skipworth, 86, of Decatur will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ridout's Brown-Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Jerry Burns officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Skipworth died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. She was born June 30, 1914, in Lauderdale County to Albert Parrish and Florence Parrish. She was a homemaker and a member of Rural Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry Skipworth and Joe Skipworth, both of Decatur; two daughters, Betty Edwards of Lacey's Spring and Pat Jones of Hartselle; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren.

Grandsons will be pallbearers.

John Orman Woodard
76, retired inspector

MOULTON -- Funeral for John Orman Woodard, 76, of Moulton will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Jackson Shelton and the Rev. Ray McWhorter officiating.

Burial will be in Aldridge Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Woodard died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born Oct. 21, 1924, in Alabama to John F. Woodard and Ruby Beatrice Woodard. He was a retired inspector with Wolverine Tube Inc. in Decatur.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Woodard; one son, Tony Woodard of Moulton; one daughter, Rita Long of Hartselle; two brothers, Ray Woodard and Billy Woodard, both of Moulton; three grandchildren; and two step grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wayne Ellis, Don Woodard, Scott Woodard, Jon Woodard, Tommy Kerr and Curtis Cole.

Brian Lynn Boyd
22, restaurant cook

Funeral for Brian Lynn Boyd, 22, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Sawyer officiating.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Boyd died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at his home. He was born April 23, 1979, in Decatur to Thomas Dean Boyd and Andrea Johnson Boyd. He was a cook at Red Lobster.

Survivors include his parents, Thomas Dean Boyd and Andrea Boyd of Decatur; one daughter, Baile Morgan of Decatur; one brother, Jason Boyd of Jacksonville, Fla.; and his grandmother, Betty Boyd of Decatur.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gilliam, Brian Dutton, David Boyd, Michael Motsinger, Josh McMunn and Ty Cole

Lettie Elizabeth Ready Ferguson Cole
84, homemaker

MOULTON -- Funeral for Lettie Elizabeth Ready Ferguson Cole, 84, of Moulton will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Sulphur Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Earl Holt, the Rev. Arnold Brackin and the Rev. Dave Stidham officiating.

Burial will be in Morris Chapel Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will be in the church one hour before the service.

Mrs. Cole died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at her daughter's home. She was born July 9, 1916, in Lawrence County to David Franklin Ready and Lucinda Mississippi Hitt Ready. She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of Sulphur Springs Baptist Church. She was active in the Women's Missionary Union and the Lottie Moon Organization. She taught the adult Ladies Training Union Class and was active with the Vacation Bible School for many years. She was a Green Thumb worker at Moulton City Hall and a Foster Grandparent at the Bill Stewart Center and East Lawrence Elementary School. She also was a Senior Companion and the widow of Howard Ferguson and Blanton Cole.

Survivors include one son, Howard Dwight Ferguson of Moulton; four daughters, Betty F. Hutto and Elizabeth Jane Hayes, both of Moulton, Mary Ann F. Bryson of Priceville and Judy F. Partridge of Decatur; one brother, James Ready of Georgia; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandson.

Pallbearers will be Samuel Heflin, Houston Hutto, Theran Heflin, Barry Hayes, Bobby Bryson, and Keith Harris.

Edith Seibert Freeman
91, homemaker

HARTSELLE -- Graveside service for Edith Seibert Freeman, 91, of Hartselle will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery with Stephen Seibert officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Freeman died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 2, 1909, in Morgan County to Oakley Woods and Novie Ward Woods. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was the mother of the late Lynn Seibert. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include one son, Tommy L. Seibert of Hartselle; on stepson, Louis Austin of Decatur; one stepdaughter, Mary F. Dyer of Florence; two brothers, Hillie Woods of Peoria, Ill., and Marshall Woods of Hartselle; seven sisters, Moline Land, Geneva Buckner, Betty Roberts, Anette Byrd and Peggy Sybert, all of Hartselle, Laverne Statler of Memphis and Geraldine Tyler of Falkville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Russell Roberson, Leeman Woods, Mike Tyler, Austin Statler Jr., Bobby Howell and Robert Seibert.

James Mitchell McClellan
74, retired electronics contractor

Memorial service for James Mitchell McClellan, 74, of Decatur was to be today at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Culotta officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Mr. McClellan died Saturday, May 5, 2001, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born Oct. 12, 1925, in Cullman County to W.L. McClellan and Luna Laney McClellan. He was an electronics contractor who retired from Pemco Airplex in Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Amanda "Mamacita" McClellan; two sons, Ronney McClellan and Michael McClellan, both of Cullman; three daughters, Pat Arrington of Decatur, Terri Parvin of Athens and Sheila Roden of Cullman; one brother, Newman McClellan of Cullman; one sister, Ozelle Holland of Vinemont; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Patsy George 'Pat' Palladino
80, NASA optical lab technician

Funeral for Patsy George "Pat" Palladino, 80, of Decatur will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann's Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Culotta officiating and Roselawn Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the church.

Mr. Palladino died Monday, May 7, 2001, at Sunbridge Health Care of Decatur. He was born Aug. 30, 1920, in Rome, N.Y., to Michael Palladino and Bernice Matozzi Palladino. A veteran of World War II, he later retired from NASA after working as an optical lab engineer technician. He was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the father of the late Michael Palladino and Mary Palladino.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Palladino; three sons, Thomas Palladino of Birmingham and Robert "Bobby" Palladino and Charles Palladino, both of Decatur; two daughters, Jean Bazzel of Decatur and Patricia Hutchison of Antioch, Tenn; one sister, Theresa Hurlbut of Rome, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Palladino, David Bazzel, Steven Palladino, Billy Kennedy, Anthony Palladino and Gene Basham.

Ollie Brown
75, retired farmer
HARTSELLE -- Funeral for Ollie Brown, 75, of Valhermoso Springs will be Thursday at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Smith officiating.

Burial will be in Valhermoso Springs Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 9 at the funeral home.

Mr. Brown died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Morgan County to Mack Van Buren Brown and Lyda Viola King Brown. He was a retired farmer and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Brown; one son, Lannie Brown of Louisiana; four daughters, Patricia Smith and Judy Henderson, both of Eva, Valerie Clinkenbeard of Lacey's Spring and Larissa Ricketts of Muscle Shoals; three brothers, James "Bunk" Brown and Gregory Dale Brown, both of Valhermoso Springs, and Dewey Hammond "Bodie" Brown of Lacey's Spring; five sisters, Dorothy "Dimp" Brown and Anna Lou Lenox, both of Valhermoso Springs, Lee Ree Smith of Tennessee, Lilly Mae Maples of Priceville and Mabel Evans of Scottsboro; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Wendell Smith, Jeff Lenox, Rocky Maples, Troy Brown, Walter Wilson and Stanley Boyett.
