Mrs. Dutton died Saturday, May 12, 2001, in Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. She was born Sept. 9, 1905, in Lawrence County to Joe Pinkney Garrison and Rhoda Montgomery Garrison. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was the widow of Arthur Dutton.
Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Montgomery and Laverne Strickland, both of Moulton, and Lois Warren of Decatur; four sons, Willard Dutton of Town Creek, Gene Dutton of Courtland and Elvis Dutton and Wymon Dutton, both of Moulton; one sister Ola Posey of Moulton; one brother, Joe Garrison of Falkville; 18 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hodge died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at Lawrence Baptist Medical Center. He was born July 2, 1931, in Lawrence County to John Hodge and Maggie Hood Hodge. He was a retired factory worker.
Survivors include three brothers, Wayne Hodge, J.D. Hodge and Jerry Hodge, all of Moulton; and two sisters, Fayrene Fuller and Beatrice Knighten, both of Moulton.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Hodge, Matthew Hodge, Brian Fuller, Phillip Hodge, Jamie Hodge and Doyle Johnson.
James Frank Putman

Mr. Putman died Sunday, May 13, 2001, at his home. He was born May 29, 1939, in Alabama to Robert Putman and Olene Holcome Putman. He was a retired maintenance worker for Monsanto. He was the father of Richard Putman.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Putman; one daughter, Edie Finau of Fayette, N.C.; two stepsons, Stanley Cheatham of Trinity and James Cheatham of Moulton; two stepdaughters, Pat Haynes of Moulton and Sandra Alexander of Houston; two brothers, Rob Putman of Decatur and William Putman of Florida; one sister, Lois Ann Putman of Birmingham; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Drinkard died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born in Morgan County. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
Survivors include his wife, Reba Drinkard; one son, Gary Dale Drinkard of Hartselle; three daughters, Diane Wilks of Arab, Judy Reed of Decatur and Joy Winsett of Hartselle; his mother, Euretha Buchanan of Hartselle; two stepbrothers, Gerald Buchanan of Birmingham and Earl Buchanan of Gulf Shores; one stepsister, Mary Ann Kurcus of Birmingham; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Murphy died Monday, May 14, 2001, at his home. He was born May 7, 1920, in Franklin County to James and Hilda Murphy. He was a World War II Marine veteran and retired after 42 years from the Alabama Department of Transportation.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Murphy; one daughter, Irma Jean Stone of Decatur; one brother Willard Murphy of Russellville; four stepsons, Lane Potter, Loyd Potter, Bruce Potter and Glenn Potter, all of Decatur; one grandson; and 10 step-grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Lucian Terry of Trinity, Bobby Terry of Athens and Frank Terry of Courtland; three daughters, Betty Sodal of Pekin, Ill., Mary Wilson of Decatur and Charity Decker of Mountainview, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and seven step-grandchildren.

Mr. Garlen died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Athens-Limestone Hospital. He was born Nov. 27, 1923, in Limestone County to William Ellery Garlen and Mamie Smith Garlen. He was a retired businessman and a World War II Army Air Forces veteran. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was the brother of the late Crystal Garlen.
Survivors include his wife, Toni Garlen; two sons, Richard Garlen of Tallassee and Michael Garlen of Athens; one brother, Joe Garlen of Toney; three grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.

He was employed as a night auditor at Holiday Inn and received his bachelor's degree in biblical studies from Freed-Hardeman University in Henderson, Tenn. He was a member of Austinville Church of Christ.

Mr. Jones died Monday, May 14, 2001, at Parkway Medical Center. He was born June 8, 1910, in Town Creek to Billy and Susie Jones. He was a retired farmer and a member of Penny Lane Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Laura M. Jones; five sons, Albert Jones Jr., Norah Jones, Johnny Jones, Billy Jones and Charles Jones, all of Hartselle; seven daughters, Lizzie Taylor, Frances Herford and Susie Orr, all of Hartselle, Mary Turney of Huntsville, Rosie Foster and Lila Malone, both of Decatur, and Annie White of Indiana; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
